Get Log on Username in system session ..
Hi,
I'm developing a windows service and i need to get log on username but the problem is service is running under system account so it always return
system as username, is there any way to get log on username thru service which is running under system account ?? I'm using windows 7
Thanks and regards.
Since windows services run in Session 0, I don't think it'll show what Wall.E wants.
On the other hand, I forgot that the current console user can be found on Win32_ComputerSystem as well. I've tested the following code can get console user name on service.
private string GetConsoleUser()
string username = String.Empty;
ManagementScope scope = new ManagementScope("\\\\.\\root\\cimv2");
ManagementObjectCollection compQuery = new ManagementObjectSearcher(scope, new SelectQuery("select * from Win32_ComputerSystem")).Get();
foreach (ManagementObject item in compQuery)
username = Convert.ToString(item["username"]);
return username;

I can get the currently logged in user's first name from the profile object
as p.getAttributeString("iwtUserInfoProvider-firstName") and I can get the
role (assuming I set it as user-readable) as
p.getAttributeString("iwtUser-role").
I can't seem to figure out where to get the username they used to log into
the portal. Where do I find this?
Also, is there any chance of getting back the cleartext of the password they
used to authenticate on the login form later on in the session? Is this
value kept?
ThanksgetClientID() in com.iplanet.portalserver.session has the username
Look for this paragraph in the Javadocs:
'The Session class represents a session. It contains session related
information such as client ID (user ID or application ID)'

Problem getting logged in username during runtime
Hey guys.
I am trying to get the username of the logged in user during runtime and set that value to a bind variable in an MSSQL statement.
Im using the following method to get the userID but it crashes when trying to get the principle user:
public String getLoginUserId()
String userId = ((ApplicationModuleImpl)getApplicationModule()).getUserPrincipalName();
// strip off the realm name from the username
int realmEndPos = userId.lastIndexOf("/");
if (realmEndPos>0)
userId= userId.substring(realmEndPos+1);
logger.debug("UserId "+userId);
return userId;
I'm using JDev 10.1.3.2 and MSSQL 2005. The code throws out the following error when trying to getUserPrincipleName():

Greetings,
In Oracle 10 and 11, is there a way to include the SID in the information that gets logged to the operating system audit trail?
Thanks,

SID as in ORACLE_SID or V$SESSION.SID? -
Message:You are already logged on to the system in the following sessions
Hi Experts,
We are implementing SAP SRM7.0 with Portal integration.
After logging in when we click on the shop link , it is taking us to the new screen and getting message saying "You are already logged on to the system in the following sessions"
and also providing the details of the user.
This is happening for all the users created in portal.
can someone help me to resolve the issue.it would be really appreaciated.
Thanks & Regards,
Prashanth P.Hi Prashanth,
You can enable multiple login in two ways.
goto SICF and open service.
1.Navigate to default_host->sap->bc->bsp->sap->srm(double click on srm service)
2.Open Error Pages tab and clcik on Configuration button.
3.Check whether check for multiple logon is enabled.
or
goto RZ10
To allow the user to have multiple login in SAP R/3, one have to set the Profile Parameters u201CLogin/disable_multi_gui_loginu201D OR u201CLogin/multi_login_usersu201D.
1. Login/disable_multi_gui_login
Controls whether multiple logins are enabled or disabled. 0 = enable 1 = disable
2. Login/multi_login_users
Here a list [user IDs] can be deposited that would allow users a multiple login even though the multi login is generally disabled. The multiple login information are stored in the table URSR41_MLD.
Note: Select extented administration and clcik display. this is the place to maintain parameters.

How to get the current logged in username from windows and put it into an AS var
Hello,
I was hopeing someone would know how to get the current logged in username from windows and put it into a var, so I can create a dynamic text box to display it.
Thanks in advance
MichaelJust for everyone’s info, this is the script I have used to get the logged in windows username into flash ---- not and air app.
In the html page that publishes with the .swf file under the <head> section:-
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
function findUserName() {
var wshell=new ActiveXObject ("wscript.shell");
var username=wshell.ExpandEnvironmentStrings("%username%");
return username;
</script>
The ActionScript:-
import flash.external.ExternalInterface;
var username:String = ExternalInterface.call ("findUserName");
trace (username); // a quick test to see it in output -
How to get the logged in username or how to set the acquiredby?
We are using BPEL 10.1.2.0.2.
We have implemented CAS/OID to work with the TaskList. Our issue is with obtaining the logged in username while in the BPEL Workflow. Acquired by variable is not populated even after the task is acquired. Explicitly setting Acquired By doesn't work either (still comes as null).
This might be something quite simple, but I am not able to figure it out. Is there a way to get the logged in username or the user who acquired the task while in the BPEL workflow?
Thank you!I have no longer access to the custom worklist application of 10.1.2 but in 10.1.3 you can access it through:
SessionStore sessStore = SessionStore.getInstance(request.getSession(false));
String userName = ((IWorkflowContext) sessStore.get(WorklistappConstants.SESS_ATTR_WORKFLOW_CONTEXT)).getUser();Kind Regards,

When logged in multiple times, I get annoying messages from AOL System Msg
I am using iChat from home and work. In my iChat settings, I have "Allow multiple logins for this account" set.
If I log in from work (and am still logged in from home, or vice versa), I get a message from "AOL System Msg" telling me that I am now logged in from two locations, and that I can reply with '1' to log off the other location. These messages are somewhat annoying, as "AOL System Msg" apparently cannot be blocked. Is there a way to avoid these and still being logged in from multiple locations?Is one version iChat 2.x ?
If so then the answer is No.
If both are iChat 3 try changing the setting when the other computer is Off. This maybe difficult but maybe the weekend would be the time to log out of the Work one first and then on Monday turn the Home one Off.

What do I do to straighten out this problem: When I try to access Firefox after I've logged out of a previous session I get a msg that Firefox is still running and I have to restart the computer in order to access internet...
All you need to do is wait. While Firefox appears closed, it's not. It doing house cleaning. Cleaning out cookies and cache. How long it takes depends upon how much garbage you have collected.
If you start the Task Manager and open the Process window, you will be able to see when Firefox has finished up and closed down.
If you forced Firefox to close using the task manager, then the house keeping process seems to freeze up.
Also, as you've already found out from the above link, some programs and plugins will prevent Firefox from closing properly. I've found this less common then simply being in a hurry. But you need to also consider it. -
Getting the No of Users logged in the SAP system
Hi Experts ,
I have the requirement of finding the No of Users ( User Ids) logged into the SAP system.
Is there any database table or FM to retrieve this information.
Regards,
Abhishek KokateHi Abhishek,
Check out transparent table : USR41 (User master: Additional data) This may be the table you want to use.
Or
You can use SUBMIT command with the above stated report (RSM04000_ALV) - export the output( ALV data) to memory and then retrieve to use it as you want (as an internal table).
example :
DATA BEGIN OF itab_list OCCURS 0.
INCLUDE STRUCTURE abaplist.
DATA END OF itab_list
SUBMIT RSM04000_ALV
via selection-screen
EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY
AND RETURN.
* To read from the memory
CALL FUNCTION 'LIST_FROM_MEMORY'
TABLES
listobject = itab_list
EXCEPTIONS
not_found = 4
OTHERS = 8.
Hope this is help full to you !!

Drop down list based on log in username - php mysql
I have a drop down list of client names on a php page that filters a second drop down list of site names.
At the moment, any user who logs in can see the entire list of clients, however I want to filter the list based on their username log in.
This is the entire page code, the section in bold is the drop down list in question:
<?php
if (!isset($_SESSION)) {
session_start();
$MM_authorizedUsers = "asguser,admin,member";
$MM_donotCheckaccess = "false";
// *** Restrict Access To Page: Grant or deny access to this page
function isAuthorized($strUsers, $strGroups, $UserName, $UserGroup) {
// For security, start by assuming the visitor is NOT authorized.
$isValid = False;
// When a visitor has logged into this site, the Session variable MM_Username set equal to their username.
// Therefore, we know that a user is NOT logged in if that Session variable is blank.
if (!empty($UserName)) {
// Besides being logged in, you may restrict access to only certain users based on an ID established when they login.
// Parse the strings into arrays.
$arrUsers = Explode(",", $strUsers);
$arrGroups = Explode(",", $strGroups);
if (in_array($UserName, $arrUsers)) {
$isValid = true;
// Or, you may restrict access to only certain users based on their username.
if (in_array($UserGroup, $arrGroups)) {
$isValid = true;
if (($strUsers == "") && false) {
$isValid = true;
return $isValid;

I think I need to amend the sql statement to something like this - but I haven't quite got it right:
SELECT DISTINCT * FROM qry_test WHERE username = colname GROUP BY client_name ASC
Where do I drop the code for the colname info?
name:colname
type: text
default value: -1
run time value: $_SESSION['MM_Username']
Thanks!I don't do PHP but it would be something like:
$sql = sprintf (SELECT DISTINCT * FROM qry_test WHERE username = %s GROUP BY client_name ASC, $_SESSION['MM_Username'] );
or you can just embed the session variable into the sql string.
But why are you using the GROUP BY clause? If you just need a distinct list of names, use the DISTINCT keyword and reduce your select list to only the needed column. -
How to get logged in user name from windows service c#
i use the below code to get logged in user name.
private string GetLoggedInUser()
string userName = "";
if (System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent() != null)
userName = System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name;
return userName;
just do not understand why it is not giving a logged in user name rather it is return data in this format
NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM but i want to get user name.
i try to run my service as Local Service and local system account but in every case i am getting this string
NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM instead of logged in user name.
so please guide me what to change in code. thanksSystem is the account the service is running under.
There can be none or many interactive users be logged in. What if none or multiple are logged in? Which one are you referring to then?

How to find the logged-in username
Hello everyone,
My application needs to find the logged-in username from the
operating system, which in this case will always be Windows. This
would be the same as the USERNAME environment variable that can be
obtained from typing "set" from the command prompt. Anyone know how
this can be done? Many thanks, --BobHi,
There's no direct API for this, but you can try:
var username:String = File.userDirectory.name;
(Refer
