Get non-Mac mail on iPad

I have my non-mac mail set up to come to my Mail on my iMac. I'm going to be travelling internationally soon though so I need to figure out how to access those mail accounts from my iPad. The only thing I can think of so far is to transfer those emails to Google or Zoho. Any ideas?

iPad supports most email account types. Follow the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4810

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
    NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

I am having the same problem but cannot get anything but the actual phone to work.  I have a unlocked 3GS running 6.0 (what was I thinking?).  No data whatsoever, no texting, no visual voicemail.  I simply cannot access the APN settings.  I have tried sim swap, I have tried APN changers.  I have been on the phone with ST tech support for hours and hours.  I have tried to get the answers from a "genius".  I am stuck and looking at Android devices, but would really like to keep using the iphone with Straight Talk.

  • Migrated to new iMac - how to retrieve old non-Mac mail?

I have been using an old MacBook Pro, but recently bought a new iMac. I used the me.com iSync (I think that's what it is called) to sync my Mail accounts to me.com, and then to sync with the new iMac. The Mac mail came over just fine ([email protected]) but I had several other accounts set up in Mail on the MBP - Yahoo, a few Gmail accounts, my web site's accounts, etc. None of the email messages came over. I get new emails on my iMac to these non-Mac accounts, but I would like to transfer over the old ones as well. I have tried to click "Get Mail" but it looks like this just gets new mail.
Is there a way on my iMac in Mail to retrieve old emails (including Sent emails) from non-Mac accounts? I keep having to go back to my MBP to find/reference old emails.

Reference Kappy's advice in method 1. I think this would do it for you.

I am using Mac Mail on Mac Air  with 10.10.  I have a multi line signature but it looks double spaced and I can't get it to look like a single spaced signature.  I tried different fonts and sizes.

I Finally resolved my problem after much research. On my I pad 4 with retina in the field under settings there is a list to choose from-- ex. Aol,Google, yahoo, etc. I chose other and entered att. Used pw and bingo! Problem resolved. It is somewhat configured a little different; but at least I can get all of my 500 e mails.
apple takes IMAP but this is under pop And at least my persistence paid off. You would think something so simple would be informative to us in a better way.

  • Transferring videos from non-mac laptop to ipad air to be used in Keynote

    Hi!
I've 2 questions regarding the ipad which I hope someone can clarify for me.
    1) Can I transfer videos from a non-Mac laptop (not bought via itunes) to the ipad? Will it function well?
    2) Can I then use these videos in Keynote as part of presentations?
    Thank you!

You can use a service like dropbox where you upload them from the laptop and then download them onto the iPad.
The one rub will be if the video is in a format that the iPad will play.
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 1080p, 60 frames per second, High Profile level 4.2 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
as to inserting it into keynote, you may want to research and see how that works on the iPad.

  • Mac mail and iPad

Could anyone tell me why I can't see my mac mail on my iPad. My iMac shows it fine and I thought this was synced to the iPad when the two were connected.
    thank you

If your Mac mail is a POP account - it will not sync messages to the iPad. IMAP email accounts sync all content identically from device to device.
You can sync your email account settings from the email account, but you are not able to sync messages. You can sync the email settings under the Info Pane of iTunes.

  • HT4864 When my mail switched to I cloud, my Mac quit processing it either inbound or outbound.  What happened and how do I get my .mac mail through I cloud?

When I recently switched over to I cloud my .mac mail quit.  I've tried everything.  What am I missing?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

  • Not Getting Any Mac Mail

    Hi all,
I know there's lots of similar items posted but I have the same problem that I can't seem to fix, would appreciate some input - thanks!
Basically one minute I was getting mail on my Mac, the next I'm not and it errors, I can log in via the web no problem and read and reply to mail but our internet connection is not the fastest, so it's a struggle.
I have tried sending myself a test email but it just times out and says "Cannot send message using the server smtp.mac.com" Have tried changing the port from 25 to 587 and unchecking the SSL setting but still no joy. And have tried using the Connection Doctor but get more "Could not connect" messages on both the email address and the smtp.
All I did recently was installed a couple of OSX updates and restarted, since then (could be a coincidence) I no longer get mail.
    Can anyone shed any light?
    Thanks!

    Hi s1mon.
Depending on what it is that you really mean, the following two statements can or cannot both be true. Could you please clarify?
Basically one minute I was getting mail on my Mac, the next I'm not and it errors
All I did recently was installed a couple of OSX updates and restarted, since then (could be a coincidence) I no longer get mail.It looks like there is a problem with either the network or the server. Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list.
Also, try using a different method to connect to Internet, if possible, or connecting the computer to Internet as directly as possible, i.e. bypassing any routers that might be present, using an ethernet cable instead of wireless, etc., and see whether that makes a difference.
Try this to determine the scope of the problem:
    1. Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Accounts, and create a new user account for testing purposes.
    2. Either log out of your main user account or just quit Mail so that it does not interfere with the other user account.
    3. Log in as the newly created user and set up Mail anew there.
    4. Check whether the problem also happens when logged in as another user.
If the problem happens there as well, you may want to report the problem to .Mac email support in case there is a problem with your account at their end.

  • Still cant figure out how to get my .Mac mail.

I've read all about port 25 and 587 and all sorts of abbreviations of techno terms I have no idea what they stand for.
I'm sure its something simple. What needs to be changed?
    I get the message;
"The connection to the server "smtp.mac.com" failed."
    Thanks

Lauren hit the nail on the head... however to elaborate.
You will most likely need to change the SMTP for your email in order to send over Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, when you use one of the preconfigured email services (in this case .Mac) you do not have the ability to manage many of more technical aspects of email.
Rather, I recommend creating your .Mac account as an "other" account and choose IMAP.
The incoming mail server for .Mac is- mail.mac.com
The outgoing mail server will be your ISP's. Make sure to supply your .Mac username and password for authentication.

  • Non .Mac mail syncing (Gmail, Yahoo) between macs

I would like to synchronise and keep exact copies of my Gmail and Yahoo accounts on Mail. Is it possible to do that (with the existing messages and the new ones)? I tried importing from one mac to the other but I never get option to select INBOX, only DELETED and SENT mailboxes. How does one export emails from Mail in mbox format?

Apple switched from mbox to elmx with Tiger, so you will need something to convert your files. Here's one solution, but I haven't tried it myself.

IMO, trying to keep them "synced" is going to involve a lot of manual forwarding, CCing mail to yourself, etc. Instead of that why don't you get a IMAP email account? With IMAP servers your messages stay on a server, rather than get downloaded to a single machine.
If you get an IMAP account you can download POP mail from any or all of your email accounts, and then use a rule to move them to a folder on the IMAP server "automagically". Then you can access your mail from all your computers.

  • Can't get mac mail boxes to receive or send

My email stopped receiveing or sending a couple of days ago. I have ATT as ESP & went through their tech support to help me get it back up & running. However, it still does not work with my mac mail. I have to log onto my email through the ATT website. I have deleted and re-created all of my mailboxes - and am receiving emails on my primary account. None of my subaccounts are receiving and none of my accounts can send. The SMTP says "offline" and I haven't been able to get it online. All of my accounts are set up as POP - they were IMAP, and that seemed to be an issue with ATT. I don't carewhich as I don't have other devices that I receive emails on.
Does anyone have advice on how to get my mac mail back to good health?

    Hi cindy2227!
I have an article for you that can help you troubleshoot this mail issue a little further. The article will walk you through some troubleshooting steps to ascertain the root of the issue, and can be found here:

  • Mac Mail Outgoing SMTP Settings for Exchange account

I can't seem to get my Mac Mail client outgoing smtp settings correct. I am receiving fine but cannot send. My companies IT person does not have any Mac experience and has asked that I use webmail. Please help.

Thank you sooo much for getting back to me. I am back to trying to figure this out.
I have tried to set it up with the mentioned settings without success.
I think the problem is with the Outgoing Mail Server address that was given to me by the IT person - "webmail.outdoordimensions.com".
Typically, when setting accounts up, I have used an address respective to the web access provider - i.e. "smtp.att.yahoo.com". However, this "Exchange" account is something very new to me.
Thanks again for your help. Also what is "TLS-wrapped"? I didn't find a setting option for this.

  • Cannot open Mac Mail messages.

    Hi
I have a G5 pre Intel OS 10.5.8, with Mac Mail v 3.6. I cannot open my messages. I still can receive and send messages. I checked with my ISP and my settings are correct. Mac Mail's Connection Doctor says connection with the internet and my ISP are good.
I believe I will have to reinstall Mac Mail. I first want to make sure my messages are saved.
Does anyone know where on my computer the messages reside?
Where can I get just Mac Mail to reinstall or must I reinstall the OS?
    Thanks

What exactly happens when you try to open them?
    On Mail...
First Quit Mail, then I'd backup these two Mail folders, by right clicking on them in the Finder, then choose Archive/Compress.
    Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail
    Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail Downloads
(Could be a different folder here if you chose such in Mail Prefs)
Right click on that Mail folder, choose archive, you'll get everything in the folder, and the folder itself in a file called Mail.zip, move it to a safe place, same for the Mail Downloads folder... only the plist is separate.
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may not exist.
    Get Pacifist...
    http://www.charlessoft.com/
then extract/install what you need from your Install Disc.

  • Mac Mail receiving mail from another account

I have 2 completely different e-mail accounts active in Mac Mail. Although mail is being sent to the "non" Mac mail account, the Mac Mail account receives the mail. When I move the mail to the other account, it reappears in Mac Mail.

Okay, I have had the problem of not being able to send email although I was recieving email.  After reading prior posts on this topic, I turned OFF all three of my email accounts and then turned them back on and that worked!!!!!!!
Finally!  I have spent a lot of time on this issue trying to resolve it so I hope this post will help someone who has the same issues.
I didn't have a problem with this with my original iphone, but then I dropped that phone in my coffee one morning and when I recieved the replacement, for some reason I had to manually set up each account and it wasn't as intuitive as it was the first time I set them up.  Good luck.
