Get photos off old ipod

My old computer is gone. The photos from that computer were synced to my old, click wheel ipod, 80GB. I have the ipod. The ipod does appear in itunes, but the photo option on the left does not appear. The only option I have in itunes in to synce photos from my computer to my ipod. I don't want to do that! I want to get the photos off of my ipod and safely on my new computer.
Another thread said to try image capture, but that didn't work. Maybe ipod is too old?
Any ideas?

Syncing photos is only one way, from your PC to your iPod. If you need to copy photos from your iPod back to your PC, you'll need the assistance of some third party software.  Also keep in mind that these photos are no longer in their full resolution, but instead are scaled down thumbnail versions optimized for viewing on your iPod's small screen.
Here is one option.

  • Getting photos off of iPod Touch

How can I get photos off of my iPod Touch and onto my computer ?

Presumably, these are photos you've taken "on the Touch" with the screenshot facility, either the iPod one or one built into an App, is that correct? If so, then when you connect the Touch to iTunes a window should appear notifying you of "photos on the Touch which are not in your library". I can't be more precise about this since I'm a Windows user, but I guess it'll be iPhoto or an additional iTunes window that pops up.
Anyway, when that window appears, there should options for removing them from the Touch and putting them into your photo library.
    Have you tried that?

  • Get photos off disabled iPod?

A month ago I updated my iPod Touch to IOS 7 and then disabled it, because I forgot its password. I now have been disabled from my iPod for a month trying to figure out how to get my photos off. I just went to the Apple Store yesterday to ask for help, but they said the only thing I could do was restore it and loose all my photos or get my photos back from a backup. I did backup my iPod before updating it to IOS 7, but iCloud said it was incomplete, so I couldn't get into the backup and find my photos. (UG iCloud can really get on my nerves!) I heard of some apps that allow you to get photos off, like iExplorer and TouchCopy, but those wouldn't work with a disabled iPod. Someone please help me!!! I know there are some apps that are purposefully made for situations like this I just can't find it.
These photos are really important to me!!

So the Apple Store doesn't know how to deal with this situation if I brought my iPod in? Like they couldn't get my photos or contacts off? Well, if I can't get my photos off I might as well ask you 'Can I look what was backup in my imcomplete iCloud backup'. It says 3.9GB was backup into iCloud for my iPod, but it says 'imcomplete'. I don't think I can backup to an imcomplete backup, but I think maybe I can look what was backup.
Here are some screenshots to show what is in my iCloud:

  • How to get photos off my iPod that were on a app?? PLEASE HELP _ !!!

I dropped my cracked iPod touch 4th generation in water and now it's just done. The touch doesn't work anymore (by that I mean I cant touch it anymore, I cant slide it open or slide it to turn it off). It wouldn't really be a big problem cause I plugged a USB cord in my iPod into my laptop and it downloaded all my photos from my iPod onto my laptop. The problem is I had a lock app (that kind of app that you can keep private stuff in/the app you need a password for) and I had many pics of memories on there that I will never get back. They didn't download onto my laptop like the rest cause they are not technically on my iPod, they're on a app.  I have been trying to find a way to get those pics onto my laptop but with my iPod unable to open I have just given up. I would take it to a shop but they would probably just reset it and delete everything. You guys are my last hope. Is there ANY way I can some how save those pics?? If not tell me because keeping this iPod around is just saddening :/ PLEASE HELP! (I don't know if this is useful information but My Ipod was NOT a IOS 7, it was a 6 something.. I dont remember exactly but It was not a 7, but a 6. something)

Can you backup the iPod? If so then either:
    - Restore another iPod touch, iPad or iPhone for that backup
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you have an iTunes backup you may be able to extract the photos from the backup by:

  • How do I get photos OFF my ipod onto a new computer?

I can see the photos on the iPod.
I've tried putting it in dick mode but the photo files don't show up. All my other files seem to be there.
Putting new photos on the ipod is easy. Getting them off and onto a new computer doesn't seem like it can be done.
    Any ideas?

I don't have the original pictures because I don't have the original computer. I can't re-put them on the ipod. We're talking 4000 pictures or so.
Right now I have Image Recall looking at the ipod. It's found 37 pictures so far. I'm hoping it will be able to find the rest. I'm not hopeful.

  • How do I get photos off old edition of Photoshop? Please help!

I downloaded the free trial of Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition a while ago and since then, whenever I upload photos from my camera onto the computer they automatically go onto this programme.  This happened the other day and the photos were deleted from my camera but I was then told that my trial had run out and to get it again I had to click on something and they would send me an email with an unlock code.  I then got an email saying that this edition was no longer available and to get another one.  So I downloaded another trial but I still can't get the photos off the old edition off Photoshop without the unlock code they asked for.  Is there anyway I can get them? Thanks.

It is a common misconception that Starter Edition 'stores', or copies, your files into it. But the program does not move or copy files at all, rather it scans your system's My Pictures directory, and generates miniature versions of your pictures (called thumbnails) so that you can browse a 'flat' list of thumbnails of your photos, overcoming the inconvenience of having to go into separate folders in Windows Explorer to have to find files. The thumbnails, as well as any tags, and Albums that you create in Starter Edition are all stored in the Photoshop Album catalog file, separate from your pictures, and your pictures remain where you originally copied them to your computer.
If you use Photoshop Album to subsequently download files from a digital camera or scanner, the default location where the program will create those files would be in the My Pictures>Digital Camera Photos folder. But if you do NOT use Photoshop Album Starter edition to download files from your camera, then you will find that folder empty.
The thumbnails in the Starter Edition catalog will exist, even if you decide to move or delete the original photos that were added to the program. This will cause files in the Photoshop Album catalog to become 'disconnected' from the original photos. To reconnect the files, you can use the File>Reconnect Missing files command to see if the program can locate the original files in a new location, and once again re-link the catalog thumbnails to the files they once referenced.
Since Photoshop Album has been discontinued, I recommend that folks find an alternative solution. One alternative that will preserve most of what you've created in Starter Edition is the Photoshop Elements 8 trial. Install that, and it will automatically convert the Photoshop Album catalog to a current format, and the program will not time out, as Starter Edition did. If you want to purchase more Editing power, you can also choose to purchase the full program, but it's not required.
If you are like many who have come to this forum wondering how you can get to your photos, now that the program has become locked or expired, don't worry; your photos have never been moved by Photoshop Album; they remain wherever you intially put them, on your hard drive. To get to them, you can navigate your file system using Windows Explorer. They are typically in your My Documents>My Pictures folder. Here is a handy How-To that you could refer to to find photos on your system, as well as some other tips for how you can use folders to keep your photos organized: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/maintain/filemgmt.mspx
    Hope those tips help!

  • Getting Photos off the iPod

I have ended up with some photos on my iPod through automatic sync that I don't want on the iPod. However I don't know how to get the photos off. Can anyone help me?
Fifth Generation Video iPod 30GB Windows XP

Connect the iPod, in the summary screen click on the "photos" tab.
Remove the check mark from "sync photos". You will then see this message.
Click "yes", then click "apply" (bottom right corner).
However this will remove all the photos on the iPod.
If you just want to delete selected ones, you can remove the photos from the folder with which they are synced.
    This is an option.
Create a new folder and give it a recognizable name (e.g. iPod photos).
Drag (or copy) your photos into this new folder.
Connect your iPod and open iTunes and when the summary page appears, click on the "photos" tab.
Under "Synchronize photos from" choose "Selected albums" and select the new folder you created and click on "OK".
Then you can just add and remove photos to and from that new folder as you wish.

  • HT1363 how to import photos off old ipods

I have over 10,000 pictures on my ipod classic v1.3 and I need to copy the photos off of it. Does anyone have a procedure on doing this?

There is no procedure for doing that, using iTunes.  When you synced the photos to the iPod, iTunes reduced the resolution of the images to optimize them for the iPod's small screen (and save storage space used by the photos on the iPod).  Therefore, they are probably very low res compared to the original photos.  The image data is also consolidated into a single database file.
There may be third-party utilities that can extract those images from the iPod.
The only exception is IF you had a setting enabled when you synced the photos to the iPod.  On the iPod's Photos screen in iTunes (where you set up syncing for photos), there is a checkbox for Include full-resolution photos.  If that was checked when you synced the photos to the iPod, iTunes separately puts a copy of the original image files on the iPod, in a folder called Photos.  You can then Enable disk use on the iPod, and manually copy those image files from the iPod using the Mac's Finder.

  • How to get photos off old iPhone

I just got the new iPhone 4s. Synced it to my iTunes and iPhoto. I downloaded photos to iCloud from my iPhone 4 before I got the new iPhone 4s. Unfortunately, iCloud was not turned on on my iMac. So, the photos did not go to my iPhoto stream. I tried connecting my old iPhone 4 to iPhoto, but now iPhoto doesn't recognize it. How an I get those photos from the elusive and mysterious iCloud? Or off the old iPhone 4? (Yes, I know I should've synced the 4 before getting the 4s. I did the night before, but then took some Christmas party photos at work, and I really don't want to lose them.)

I downloaded the photos to iCloud from my iPhone4 via wi fi while in the ATT store just prior to getting the iPhone 4s. On my iPhone4, the Christmas party photos are on the camera roll and also on the photo stream. On my iPhone 4s, there are no photos in the photo stream. However, the photos that I took at a concert last night did upload to iCloud and are visible in the photo stream on iPhoto. The Christmas party photos are not on the iPhoto photo stream.
So, where in the iCloud are the Christmas party photos? --- I should've just emailed them to myself the old fashioned way.

  • Need to get photos off old imac ruby

I found my old Ruby and realized there are images on there that I need to get off. How do I do that? I tried to stick in cd...but Ruby spits it out. Help? Thanks!

You could use a USB external drive, or probably a USB flash drive. Both would need to be formatted for Mac, as +Mac OS Extended+ (also called HFS+). Copy off the files and then connect the drive to the MacBook. Since the old iMac only has USB 1.1, so it will be slow, but it should work.
The other way is to connect the iMac to your MacBook using an Ethernet cable. If it has Mac OS 9, it should work. Try following the steps show here
    http://main.system7today.com/articles/tutorials/osxfilesharing.html
It is for the even older System 7, but it should work the same way with Mac OS 9. Note: You must connect from Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X, not the other way.
Then, on the iMac, copy the files from the iMac's hard drive to the MacBook.

  • New Nano! Getting songs off old ipod

I recently purchased the new Nano (PINK!). I currently own an ipod mini. I am giving the mini to my mom and keeping the nano. I want to put all the songs that were on my mini onto my nano, but I don't think it'll work. Is there anything special I need to do? I'm afraid when I hook up the nano it will completely clear my itunes account.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
If your music is in iTunes on your computer, then you just need to install the latest version of iTunes...

  • Getting Photos off iPod

ok, ok, I know what im about to ask is taboo in the Mac world, but I need to know how to get photos off my iPod. I had lost my 5th Gen iPod about 3 years ago and recently I have found it again and want to get all the photos off of it. I have a new computer currently and I want all the pics off my iPod and onto my MBP. Is there any way I can get the pictures off without spending money and without only being able to download the first six pictures?
