  • Can't get itunes to work for windows xp 64 bit

I can't get itunes to work for windows xp 64 bit. It won't even download.

These are the Windows requirements according to the iTunes dpownload site http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/download/http://:
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later; 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
xp 64 bit is not mentioned but it doesn't seem to be supported for the latest ITunes so it seems that you're out of luck.

  • I am also unable to get the 551L working with Windows 8 Beta 1. Any advice?

I am also unable to get the 551L working with Windows 8 Beta 1 and Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion Developer Preview 2. Any Advice?

It should be noted that I was previously in those Windows Beta's and I am also a member of both Microsoft Technet (Retail Subscription), and all 3 Apple Developer Programs (IOS, Mac and Safari), which is the reason why I am running Microsoft Windows 8 Beta 1 on 2 of my 3 Dell's (the oldest one has Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Microsoft Office 2003 on it, which is the PC that I am using the 551L on), and the Mid Year 2010 Apple Mac Mini has Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion Server Edition on it (something that I am technically am NOT supposed to be talking about here due to my NDA so this will be the last time I mention it here (as you can see I am known for being the type of  Computer Nerd that loves Alpha and Beta Testing)! :-)

  • Solution found for getting itunes to work on windows XP 64 bit

I recently just got an ipod nano and I got it to work on my window xp 64 bit desktop. I followed the instructions from http://skunkwerks.wordpress.com/2008/04/13/getting-itunes-to-work-with-windows-x p-x64/ and it works but it comes up with an error that your ipod requires itunes 8.0 or later because the prior instructions is for itunes version 7.6.2 so you need to go to http://pctech.invisibill.net/?page_id=36 click on the last link and download itunes64setup again, except this time it's for version 8. Repeat the same steps you did for 7.6.2 only for 8 this time.

You can run a 32 bit version of Windows XP in a virtual machine.  Microsoft is ending support for XP in less than two years, so you may want to invest in an upgrade.

  • I cannot get Premiere CS5 to render. i still have CS3 on my computer and it works fine.  what to do?

i have recently installed Adobe CS5 on my computer.  working in Premiere this week i cannot
get the project to render.  the dialogue box opens and then nothing happens.  i still have CS3 on my computer
so i tried it and yes it renders just fine.  should i unistall CS5 and install again or is there a known issue?

Paralling the old "don't quit your day job", I'd keep CS3. It's the only version of
Premiere that's been stable enough to meet production deadlines, at least for me. These newer versions have been a big waste of time, as they only work on
some hypothetical dream PCs that Adobe tests on, not in the real world, as far as I can tell.
I have CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5 working and stable on various machines and have never failed to meet any deadlines.
Absolutely nothing special or "hypothetical dream machines" about what I use.  They were built simple, clean  and straight forward.
I have never tried an "off the shelf" box though" ... and never would.

  • HT201413 I cannot get home sharing working, using windows 8 . does anyone have a solution?

i cannot get home sharing on itunes to work using windows 8. I also have Norton 360 and have unstalled and disabled it but still cannot get home sharing to operate so that i can use the remote APP on my ipad to control music through the house. does anyone have a solution or experienced similar issue?

    Hi Pat,
Yes I marked the question as Assumed Answered. I needed to move on. I have never taken part in a forum and couldn’t wait any longer for any input so not wanting anyone to waste the time answering me, I marked the question as assumed answered. I guess this was the wrong thing to do and I apologize to the forum.
I did go another route and loaded and enlarged the photo in Photoshop Elements, Then cropped the photo to the area I needed to reprint. I probably should have done this in the first place!
Again, my apology to the forum for my lack of patience in waiting for a reply.

  • Satellite L500 - How to get FN keys working on Windows 7 64bit?

    Hi
I needed to reinstall Windows 7 on a Satellite L500 but I can't get the FN keys to work. Would anyone here be able to give any ideas on how to get this to work?
    cas

    Hello
You need Toshiba Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. Both you can download here:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
Use also the forum search, this question was asked 100 times before.

  • Why cant I get itunes to work in windows 8? I hate this  update issue nothing works- aggh!

Why cant I get itunes update to work in windows 8?
I tried running the new itunes installer since it couldn't update itunes, then I tried the installer with
compatability checked. The older version worked fine till an update came out and now nothing works
(sync /app updates/ photo uploads)- it does still play music on the computer.
My son had older (windows 7) computer but if I sync there it tells me I'm wiped and stuck with his music.
I'm really hating itunes and ready to trash the phone etc. Im due for upgrade anyway.
With all these stupid upgrades why hasn't this issue been addressed. 8 has been out for awhile now.
Has anyone been able to fix this issue? Please share how!

You will need iTunes 9.2.1 at minimum to access the iTunes Store. Earlier versions will not work.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1056
but it would be best to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.6, since it's probable that eventually the iTunes Store will no longer support iTunes 9.x. and newer versions of iTunes will not run on Mac OS X 10.4.
    Regards.

  • Getting Bonjour to work with Windows XP SP3

I just downloaded Bonjour for Windows version 2.0.2.0 and installed it.  The script reportedly ran ok, but when I start the Bonjour Printer Wizard it says that there are no shared printers, despite the fact that I have two shared printers (I checked sharing on Properties tab) on the computer.  Based on the Apple Support page I started IE but there is no Bonjour icon present, and no Bonjour listed under View.  I've now uninstalled and reinstalled Bonjour twice with the same result (and tried rebooting a few times for good measure).  The only reason that I want to use Bonjour is that since upgrading my Macbook Pro to Lion I can't print on my windows shared printer anymore (I keep getting "authentication error") and some discussions suggested using Bonjour instead.  So what do I have to do to get Bonjour to work??

1.2.1 knows nothing about xp. You need to load an XP compliant JDK.

  • Getting help to work in Windows 98, XP, AND Vista

I am having trouble with getting my help system to be
compatible with all three operating systems: Windows 98, XP, and
    Vista.
It is a VERY SIMPLE help system, with no fancy DHTML stuff,
etc. But, the default generated CHM file works fine under XP and
Vista, but under Windows 98, won't allow any topics to be choisen
from the TOC (although the initial help window and initial topic
    display fine).
With Pete Lees' much appreciated help, we tried a CHM file
with all scripting stripped from the files (since it really isn't
necessary) -- the now revised CHM file works fine in Windows 98 and
XP, but has a weird behavior in Vista: The help files display ok in
Vista, except that in the search tab it goes ‘bong’
every time a topic is selected. So if I type in, say,
‘Link’ into the ‘type in the keyword to
find’ field and press ‘list topics’, then when I
down arrow through the topics (or click them individually) it bongs
    for each one.
The ‘bong’ sound is the same sound it makes
normally if you type ‘Link’ into the ‘type in the
keyword to find’ field and press ENTER. It sounds as if there
were a hidden error message box.
I would have thought (silly naive me) that since the RoboHelp
help *says* the Microsoft HTML Help generated by RH works in
Windows 98 and later, that I wouldn't have had to do anything to
make it work under Windows 98.
BTW, the client tried all the initial suggestions from Pete
re. updating W98 help viewer files, registering DLLs, etc., and
none of those seemed to have any effect.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can try next??

It's just that they want their app to be backwardly
compatible, as all well-behaved apps are. Obviously, the majority
of their customers will be using XP or Vista, but they don't want
to shut out the "late adopters" out there.

  • HT4818 Will the PC version of Adobe Premiere CS5 work on Apple Boot Camp?

Im a Videography/Digital Artist. I currently work on a PC with the Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Audition, Encore and Media Encoder CS5.5. I'm looking at getting the Apple MAC Book Pro. My question is will the PC Adobe software work with the Apple Mac Book Pro while using Boot Camp? Is there any limitations? If I'm editing on my PC and need to transfer my files to the Apple Mac Book Pro will it cause any problems?

With a Boot Camp installation, you are starting up to, and running Windows in every sense of the word. It's just on Apple hardware rather than Dell, Sony, etc. There's no reason it shouldn't work. On a similar note, I just recently did have Premiere Pro CS6 installed on my Win 7 Boot Camp drive for some testing and it ran perfectly.

  • How do I get PSE8 to work in Windows 7?

Here's my situation - can anyone help?
My PC came with Windows Vista 64-bit. I took advantage of a free upgrade to Windows 7 and installed same. I recently bought PSE8 and installed it - my PC has all the necessary system requirements noted on the box.
When launching PSE8, the welcome screen comes up. I can open and work in PSE Organizer, no problem. However, if I try launching the Editor from the welcome screen, I get the stripey dialog bar for about 10 seconds and then nothing. If I click the EDIT icon a second time, the whole thing just shuts down.
If I try to launch Editor via Organizer, either by right-clicking on the photo in question and choosing the 'launch Editor' option, or by selecting Full Edit via the drop-down menu next to FIX, I get a small dialog box saying 'launching PSE Editior' then nothing.
I've logged this with Adobe but their suggestions aren't an option - it recommended recreating the preferences file but the directory path they give doesn't exist on my PC so I cannot find this preferences file.
Who has any suggestions as to how I can get PSE8 Editor to launch? Has anyone else had this problem?
    Cheers!

An action that solved my problem running PSE8 with Windows 7 (although my issue was different from yours) was to change the compatibility setting. To do so, right click on the PSE desktop shortcut icon, scroll down and select Properties, then click on the Compatibility tab. Next, click on the box, Run this program in the compatibility mode for: to activate the choices. Finally, scroll down in the choices listed and select the mode for Windows Vista SP2. I've found that I can often solve issues by setting the application's compatibilty selection to either Vista, XP, or, in one case, Windows 2000, although my computer is running Windows 7.
    Perhaps this action will help.
    Ron
