Get rid of fringe which first appears in Adobe Camera Raw

I use Elements 11.  I have taken a photo of a wharf and done a lot of work on it but now notice that one of the supporting columns has a turquoise fringe right down the side of it.  Looking back at the original RAW file I see that it was there in the beginning.  So it is not the result of any cut and paste, which I haven't done anyway.   On trying to read up about it, it seems to be chromatic aberration, which can be fixed easily in full photoshop RAW version, but seemingly not in the same way with the Elements cut-down RAW.
Have tried to get rid of, in Elements, by defringe by making a selection to another layer, using the defringe option, but it makes no difference   Have tried using the refine tool and all it various options but no luck.
Unless someone has a better option might have to clone out ?

I have been struggling with the DEFRINGE function for weeks.  It is one of the most difficult tools for me.  Last night I retried the instruction to select INVERT prior to opening the DEFRINGE panel, after using the selection tool of choice.
Now, the panel options are another story, very difficult to interpret, and that is keeping in mind I have two books that instruct on using it and have watched numerous instructional videos.
I too tried the MODIFY function but with limited results.
Even with the results appearing to be achieved with INVERT selected it is hard for me to determine how well I succeeded.  I did experiment with saving the resulting image to a .jpg and it is amazing how much better the image looks when not viewed in Elements but with any other image viewer.
Good luck.

    How do I get rid of deactivation error 194:1 in Adobe Acrobat Pro ver 9
    It happens on multiple PCs

    All menu content, include motion, is limited to 1 Gig.  This is not easy to calculate.  This is not a common error unless you are over.
    When projects are revised, particularly numerous times, Encore may not correctly remove old elements.
    Easiest method here is probably to start the project over.  You can import the menus from the old project.
    You can also close this project, and try clearing the media cache.

  • Is there a way to get Adobe Camera Raw to appear in "Open With" drop down?

    HI,
    I was wondering if there might be a way to get a direct link to Adobe Camera Raw to appear in "Open With" drop down menu along with the other choices?

    I would think you'd just need to select the Adobe Application you're using... whichever that one is, then the APP would know what to do with RAW.
    What are they set for now?

  • How to get Adobe Camera RAW loaded so I can open RAW files from a Panasonic LX7?

    I opened these images two days ago. Now I get a message that the CS6 Photoshop does not recognize this type of file. I went online and again(3rd time)downloaded Camera RAW 7.3 and tried installing and opening the images.
    Once again - same thing.
    Now I have something called a DNG converter on the machine and I don't know what it is.
    I opened it and tried to get to the LX7 files in my computer I can see in Bridge - and the DNG converter does not show the files at all.
    I was doing just fine with CS5 - then I bought this piece of crap because I could not get an update for CS5 to open the Panasonic Lumix LX7 images. So, I wasted $200 on CX6 only to find I can't get my images opened.
    I hate photoshop more every damn day
    First, took three days and over 9 hours wasted on hold for Adobe phone help - and finally got a guy on to help me register Photoshop CS6 - and he could not get it to register. Finally after a day & a half and hours of continually cutting and pasting from teh online computer to the main computer that does not hook up to the Internet I got CS6 to work.
    Then, I opened the Panasonic LX7 RAW images twice after downloading and installing Adobe Camera RAW 7.1 and 7.3 - and now the machine does not recognize the files and tells me to go to http://www.adobe.com/go/kb407111
    I went there and have downloaded the Camera Raw 7.1 and 7.3 four different times now and tried installing it - and Still can't open the damn files. I keep getting the same "photoshop cannot open this file" message and teh same referenc to teh above.
    How can I get this piece of Shiz to work???
    Oh - the name for ID above is after 22 minutes of trynig to find an name this program would accept.

    The first thing I would suggest is, in Photoshop, go to Help/About Plug-Ins and click on Camera Raw to verify what version is installed. There should only be one version listed, and listed only once. If there are more, then you need to get rid of the extras.
    The DNG converter is a program that will create DNG (digital negative) copies of your raw images. It takes all of the raw image data and copies it to a new file format. The raw data is unmodified, and the DNG file is a standardized and open documented file format. But the DNG converter will not list the actual files. You choose the folder that contains your original raw images, and then the converter will put the copies wherever you choose to put them. But if your camera is supposed to be supported by the latest version of Camera Raw, I don't know if converting will solve the problem. It won't hurt anything; your raw files are still intact.
    It would be helpful if you could describe your computer; operating system, how much RAM, a little information to allow the experts (of which I am NOT one) to help you isolate and solve this problem.

  • How do I get Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) support for my new Canon EOS 7D mkii.

    I purchased the new Canon EOS 7D mkii in early November. I tried opening the raw files in both the latest Creative Cloud versions of Photoshop and Lightroom. I found that Adobe Camera Raw, both the current versions and ACR 8.7 beta/release candidate, did not support this camera. I know one exists because dpreview reviewed the pre-relase version of this camera in mid-October showing images processed with an unreleased version of ACR?
    How do I get this early unreleased version of ACR for this camera?

    Canon Eos 7D Mark ii was launched after we released ACR 8.7 RC. So, that’s the reason it is not included in the RC version. However, it is on our radar and hoping to add it in an upcoming update itself.
    As soon as it is available, it will be updated in the below article.

    I have downloaded adobe camera raw 8.7 . Closed all adobe programs . Reopen PS cc6 , it is still using  camera raw 8.2 . How can I get the updated plug in to become active ?

    Please clarify your version of Photoshop.
    There is no CC6.
    There is
    Photoshop CS6
    Photoshop CC
    Photoshop CC 2014
    Also, what is your operating system?

    I need to get the Adobe Camera Raw to convert my Raw shots to jpeg.  Do I buy Photoshop CS6, Photoshop CC or can I just get simply the ACR?  I am not a professional photographer and am only using photoshop sparingly.  I currently have an old version of Photoshop, the Photoshop CS4.  Thanks.

    The program would stop, but the files would remain on your computer. Before stopping, you could do a batch convert to tiff or png, with a strong recommendation for tiff. Png only support transparency whereas tiff supports layers, live type, transparency, etc.
    Keep in mind the app you open the tiff file in may not support all of those features, but it could if they tried.
    The psd files I would backup to a cd or dvd before removing for space, but if you have the room, keep them as some apps do support psd files.
    Best part is when you are ready, you can start your subscription again and use all of those files once again.

  • I keep getting an error code U44M1P7 when trying to update camera raw

    Can anyone help? I keep getting an error code when trying to update my camera raw, and 3 other updates. I am using a mac.

    IMO Adobe  left  a Program out of the typically list namely Photoshop
    Troubleshoot Update Errors
    Many update errors are caused by missing or modified files required by Photoshop, typically by a disk cleanup utility (Ex: CleanMyMac, MacKeeper, etc). Make sure you have the latest updates for your clean-up utilities or discontinue use.
    Explanations of error codes:
    U = Updater.
    44 = Install Update Error
    M1 = Automatic
    M2 = Standalone mode
    P = Patcher
    6 = Done With Errors
    7 = Installation Failed
    ISSUE: Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7, U44M2P7, U44M1P6
    SOLUTION: Run the installer. Reinstall Photoshop CS6 to repair/replace the missing/modified file. Select Help>Updates… to run the updater again. http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-u44m1p7-installing-updates-ccm.html
    ISSUE: The adobe update 13.0.1.2 errors with code U44M1I210.
    SOLUTION: Restart your system, download and install the updates manually. See “Solution 3″ here. http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-u44m1i210-installing-updates-ccm.html
    ========================================================================================== ======================================================
    To fix the update install problems I've had with CC I use the direct installer I downloaded from Download New Adobe CC Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant/Manager) | ProDesignTools  Follow the download instruction to the letter otherwise you will be denied access.  Once to have it. Install CC on top of itself.   That will back level CC to  CC version 14.0.  Then use Photoshop menu Help>Updates.  All updates should install and all the extensions and addition you made to cc will still be there.

  • How do I get rid of the spinner that appears on the left side on the tabs?

    (Firefox 25.0.1, Windows 8)
    There's a little green spinner that appears to the left of "Connecting..." on the tabs while loading a page. Any way to get rid of it? It's been quite annoying me for a while.

    You can manually create/edit the userChrome.css file. Here's how.
    (1) Find (or create) the chrome folder. This is a folder in your currently active Firefox settings folder, also known as your Firefox profile folder.
    * Open the your profile folder using: Help > Troubleshooting Information
    ** Windows: Click the "Show Folder" button
    ** Mac: Click the "Show in Finder" button
    * Check for a chrome folder.
    ** If it exists: double-click it to open it.
    ** If it does not exist: create a chrome folder, then double-click it to open it.
    (2) Create or Edit a userChrome.css file by adding your style rule.
    * Check for a userChrome.css file in the chrome folder.
    ** If it exists: open it in a text editor. Check that it has this first line:<br><br>@namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);<br><br>Then add the following lines and save the file:<br><br>.tab-throbber { display: none !important }<br> &nbsp;
    ** If it does not exist: create a new text file named userChrome.css. (In Windows, right-click and choose New > Text Document and change the name to userChrome.css.) Then see the previous step for what to place in the file.
    The rule change should take effect the next time you start Firefox.
    Note: I find it easier to use the Stylish extension, but if you don't want yet another extension, then userChrome.css makes the most sense.

  • Please help to get rid of this strange rectangle appearing on interface!

    Hi, my iMac is a brand new which I have purchased Feb 18th, 2009.
    The problem is that there is a strange rectangle (black outlined, empty filled) keeps appearing on interface. It appears right now around the red circle button that closes this window. On desktop, it appears around the item I select. When I try to print out a file on Adobe Illustrator, it shows up on the dialogue panel. It just won't go away.
    If anyone could help me getting rid of this annoying rectangle, my life will be saved!

    It sounds like you may have VoiceOver turned ON. If you have your volume un-muted, you may also hear the computer talking to you.
    It is controlled from System Preferences +Universal Access+ pane Seeing tab. Where it says VoiceOver, turn it OFF if it got turned ON inadvertently (probably by fitting Command-F5).
