Get rid of uninstalled apps

On my iPad the Not on This iPad list of App Store lists several apps I installed, didn't like, and uninstalled.  The icons have a little cloud with down arrow icon that if I touch reintalls the app.  These apps do not exist in iTunes.  How can I delete them from my iPad completely?

You can't. You can hide them in iTunes on your computer which should make them disappear from the iPad, but you can never totally rid yourself of those apps since they will always be part of your purchase history.
You can take a look at this.

Tried to install eBay app two days ago. Still hasn't installed, is grayed out and says waiting... When I tried to uninstall it shakes, but no X appears. How do I get rid of this app? eBay app was from the App Store.

Try restarting your devise by holding down the power button and the home button. The uninstalled app should disappear after a little while.
    Hope this helped

  • How do I get rid of an App stuck in waiting. I synced my iPad with my computer, booted my iPad, signed out and back in the store! Help!!

How do I get rid of an app stuck in waiting? I have signed in and out of ITunes store and booted my iPad. I synced my iAd with my computer. I can't use the app or delete it! Thanks!

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

Are you SURE you need to reinstall? Often people believe this but it rarely solves anything. Does a message say you must?

  • How do I get rid of an app that has an automatic weekly charge

How do I get rid of an app that that I don't want that I'm being charged for automatically each week?

There are instructions on this page for managing and stopping auto-renewing subscriptions : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098
If you also want delete the app from your iPad (you will also need to stop the subscription, just deleting an app won't do that) : press and hold any of the apps and after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button so as to stop the shaking. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'

  • How do I get rid of an app that won't quit? scanner problem

I ust tried to install a driver for my POS epson Perfection 1260. the app doesn't work with 10.4.8 and when i tried to delete their 'epson scan monitor' app I'm told it can be deleted because it's in use. I cant force quit because it doesn't show up as an option to quit. any ideas on how to get rid of the app that wont let it self be thrown away?
also any reccomendations on a sscanner that is designed and is fully functional with 10.4.8?
    Thanks for the help

Hi Brian, Scanner drivers and their add ons can be problematic. I used to have HP's driver installed which played havoc with sleeping - the computers', not mine
The epson scan monitor has probably been installed into /Library/StartupItems which is why it's telling you its in use.
Try deleting it from within Safe Boot or open Activity Monitor in Applications/Utilities and quit it from there before deleting it.
I can vouch for The Hatter's recommendation, VueScan. It's a wonderful little lightweight app that doesn't insinuate itself into StartupItems and mess sleeping up.
    Good luck,
    Adrian

  • HT201322 I want to permanently get rid of unwanted apps in the store so my iPad won't reload them when I sinc. Can I do this?

I want to permanently get rid of unwanted apps in the store so my iPad won't reload them when I sinc. Can I do this?

You can't permanently delete any items from your purchase history, all you can do is hide them from the Purchased links so that they don't show for redownloading, as described on the page that you posted from. If they are being synced back to your iPad then you must still have them on your computer's iTunes library - you can select them in the Apps part of your computer's iTunes library and delete them from there (and delete them from your iPad so that they aren't copied back to your computer when you next sync), that will stop being synced back to your iPad.

  • Getting rid of unwanted apps

I want to get rid of some apps that I don't like/don't use. I have deleted them from my iPad and my computer, but they keep coming back through updates and when I sync my computer and iPad. Is there a way for these things to go away permanently?

The way that you delete apps in iTunes on your computer is .....
    Launch iTunes.
Click on Apps under the library heading on the left.
Click on the app that you want to delete
    Go to Edit>Delete
    Follow the prompts from there.
You will get a message about the apps being removed from the iPad when you sync again because you are removing them from iTunes, but that is what you want to do - permanently remove them.

How do I get rid of an apps in iPad that does not have an x on top left corner as it is blinking?

It is known as newsstand and is a part of iOS.
It is per installed and cannot be removed. Just ignore it as it does not take a lot of memory. It is just a folder.

  • Getting rid of apple apps on Ipod touch 3rd gen??

is there any way of getting rid of the app that apple puts on ipod touch....ie reminders, newsstand, voice memos...etc. I have ipod 3rd gen and have no use for most of these.

There is no way to remove apps that are bundled with iOS.  The most you can do is place all of these apps into a folder of apps and move them to a page where you will not see them.
