Get rid of update metadata arrow

How did I get rid of the arrow telling to me update metadata. I have write to xmp sidecar turned off, and I don't want to create sidecars, but LR is telling me the files need to be updated. All the metadata is in the db already. I don't need or want sidecars, but the arrows are driving me crazy.
If I go ahead and make the sidecar for any given file at issue, then go delete the xmp from disk, the arrow goes away and the caption is still there. It's idiotic.

I'll admit having experienced this "metadata needs updating" mystery prompt, and without other applications having been involved. I'm looking at a collection of 14 DNG files right now that happen to be temporarally "located" in the quick collection. 3 of these 14 are showing a flashing down-arrow, while the harddrive churns in unison. I thought I had previously seen a hover-notice that indicated "metadata needs to be updated", but that little notice isn't working this morning.
Choosing the option 'Metadata=>Save metadata to file' does not work -- however, choosing "Update DNG preview & metadata' does work. That said, I still have no reason for why only 3 of these 14 showed problems with metadata when nearly all 14 were similarly edited.
Hmmm(?) ... while I write, thinking I had removed the problem, mysteriously a number (~6) of them have begun flashing their arrow again. I selected all files and then chose to "Sync Metadata" and all is (just as mysteriously) quiet again. I understand "Sync metadata" makes all writable metadata in all files the same, but that was alright for these files.
Hmmm(?) look at that!! Another has begun flashing again, and now it's quit on it own. Geez Louise! This is a mystery I don't need, and I'll be keeping an eye on this topic.

  • I did a restore to get rid of updated firefox. know it won't open how do i get it to open & get my tabs back

i did a restore to get rid of updated firefox. know it won't open. how do i get it to open? The reason I got rid of the update is because it would not create multipal tabs of the same website, & i lost my tabs to boot. can anyone help with this?

*Press the Shift key while an entry in the drop down list is highlighted to disable "Switch to Tab" and see the URL.
*Use the cursor Right key to select an item marked as Switch to Tab in the drop down list and copy the URL to the location bar.
*Open the URL in a new tab by using Alt + Enter on the highlighted entry.
*Open the URL in the current tab by using Shift + Enter on the highlighted entry.
If you use a system restore then you have the risk that not all files are reverted to previous versions and you most likely have corrupted your Firefox installation.<br />
You will have to do a clean reinstall of Firefox and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).<br />
Your personal data is stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure not to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • How to get rid of "updates for HP printer"

I have a new problem concerning HP printer updates . Currently am getting a updater for new downloads for Hp2175 on my desktop, but there's nothing in this box to download and I can't get rid of the message box. It only allows me to click out of it. Do any of you wonderful mac folks have a clue?
    Thanks

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store notice. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
In the Finder, press the key combination command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu initially showing Kind. From that menu, select  Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select Raw Query and click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of popup menu. Click in that box and paste (command-V).
The search window will show all the App Store products you've installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the items listed in the search window is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Test.

  • Getting rid of 'updates'...?

In my app store, I have an 'update' available for one of my apps...however, its something I don't need. (the update is for angry birds to be functional on older macbooks).
If i don't want to download an update, how do I get rid of the update in my app store window? Like, the little red icon with a (1) on it. How do I just say 'no' to the update and erase it?
    -michael

Of course the best way to get rid of it is to update it. If the update does not affect its current functionality might as well update it.

  • Can't get rid of update notice box

Today, there is a box in the upper right-hand corner of my screen telling me that updates are ready to install.  I do not want to update anything, but there is no option to delete this box, close it, ignore it, etc.  The only options are:  "Restart" (which will automatically install the updates) or "Later", which offers a number of options, but not "Never".
How do I get rid of this box, and how do I stop these updates (which apparently have downloaded themselves onto my computer without asking me) from proceeding?
    Thanks

It was one of the last two Security Updates.
To stop the pop-up, Go to System Preferences: Security. Check the box next to "Require password to unlock each secure system preference." Then lock Security.
    Thanks to K.S.

  • Get rid of update?

I have one update in my App Store for Angry Birds, an app I don't have. How can I get rid of it? Every time I try and buy the app just so the update goes away, it gives me an error message.
I know somebody had the same problem as I did in two previous posts, but I don't have any partitions set on my computer and the other post hasn't given me the guide he found to solve the problem.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi,
Log out of the MAS. Launch iTunes. From the menu bar click iTunes / Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Click: Reset warnings and reset cache.
From the menu bar click Store / Sign Out.
Launch the MAS. See if that made a difference. If not, try deleting MAS associated files.
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.storeagent
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.storeagent.plist
    ~/Library/Cookies/com.apple.appstore.plist
Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left. Now open the Library folder then the Caches folder. Move the files you see above to the Trash.
Now open the Preferences folder. Move those files to the Trash. Same for the Cookies folder.
Restart your Mac. Sometimes reinstalling the MAS from the combo update available at this link can help. http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1349

  • How do I get rid of updated apps in apps store ?

I have updated many apps in my App Store but cannot get rid of them after updating, any ideas ?

Sorry, that's how it is now. The guess is that the list of updated apps is meant to be transparency for those that have automatic app updates turned on, so they can see what their iPad did while their back was turned (so to speak). But it's there whether you have the auto update on or not.
They'll drop off after 2-3 weeks.

  • How to get rid of update icon after updating apps

So, since updating to iOS 7, I've noticed that any apps I update now show a small round blue icon next to the app name.
I get that this is supposed to let us know which apps have been updated, but is there any way to get rid of them all at once?
So far all I've seen is that you have to open each updated app one at a time to get rid of it.
    Thanks in advance.

There is no way of doing that

  • Want to get rid of update page

Every time I open Firefox, I get my homepage, Plus the You have upgraded page for Firefox. I have tried resetting my homepage, no, it didn't work. I tried unchecking the updates boxes in the Advanced Tab of Tools, it did not work.
I am using the latest update of Firefox on a Toshiba Satellite Laptop.

You can check for problems with preferences.
Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resetting_preferences
You can also try to rename (or delete) the compatibility.ini file in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

  • HELP! Acrobat 9 - How to get rid of updater notification for all users without admin rights

I just bought Acrobat Pro 9 w/ volume licensing because Adobe said this would fix a problem we are having. Every morning we have users that login and get a box that says that do not have sufficient rights to update Adobe. I need this gone. Obviously I can't give them admin rights. We are running on 5 terminal servers running 2003 server. I just need a hack or something I don't really care.

  • How to Get Rid of Update Option on an App, iPhone, iPad etc...

    Dear Apple,
I understand this is not possible, yet!
Please fix this one annoying oversight/bug you have had for ever. The option to "Update All" is great but it's useless if you have one or more apps that you don't want to update. Not everyone wants to update everything, agreed? Why not give us all an option to select an app that we wish not to be included in our updated list of apps to our devices such as our iPhone, iPad etc...?
For example, I have Splash id, 4 since 2008, if I do an "Update All" which is crucial (because I have many, many apps to update at a time and I like to update them all at once on my WiFi once every month or so) I'm forced to update Splash to version 6. I don't want 6 because this version is "not compatible" with the Desktop Version! I use the desktop version everyday to sync all my new passwords etc....
In order to make the Desktop version work I need to pay Splash yet another $10 to upgrade? I'm happy using my old version, it works fine.
So because you don't have an option to exclude this app with the updates, I have to sit there for hours just updating my apps one by one?
Appears to be an easy fix, how has this slipped by you for sooo long?
There has to be many of you out there experiencing this problem. If this post goes viral maybe Apple will see it and do something about it?
    Thank You

  • How do I get rid of updates from App Store?

I have 3 apps that 'apparently' need updating but have no "update" button next to them. Two apps I don't have and one app I do have. One is a magazine that I do not have. I don't don't need an update for my device because I'm all caught up And I've already tired logging out of apple but it didn't work. Please I really need help and it's just really annoying. Please.

    Hi,
If they don't have the word 'Update' next to them do the have the option to 'Open'? If so these Apps have already been updated and directly above the first app in the list it will show in bold text, (as an example) Updated 23 June 2014
    Regards,
    Steve

  • Getting rid of update in iBookstore

The iBookstore on my iPad is showing that there is an update to one of the books I have. Whenever I visit the bookstore to download the update I'm being told that it has already been downloaded and there isn't anything else I can do. I am not sure how to remove the "1" in a red circle that appears at the bottom of the screen next to the purchased tab.

    Hello idontknow_idk,
I would suggest a few things. First close all the apps with this article:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
From the Home screen, click the Home button twice.
Tap and hold on the app.
When it starts to jiggle, tap the - to close it.
Double-click the Home button and try opening the app again.
If the issue persists I recommend restarting the iPad:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
And as a last resort you can delete the book and download it again free of charge using this:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
