Get rid of visual voicemail

Since i upgraded my 8900 to OS 5.0 i have a new feature, visual voicemail, that is not supported by my carrier (o2 germany).
On every device boot (as a developer this can happen frequently) i get a sms stating "the speed dial 73240 is not available" (rough translation). following up other people with the same problem (some contacted their provider, but to no avail) i concluded that it is linked to the visual voicemail.
If i open visual voicemail it asks me to check its availability, if i do the device either crashes or i get the same sms as on reboot.
to my question:
how can i remove visual voicemail? it is not listed in the apps using desktop manager.
i checked the modules of the application in the options, would it be safe to just delete the modules using javaloader?

it is most likely a problem related to both the software and the provider. it sends a sms to the provider to register the visual voicemail i guess, and if this number does not exist i get an error.
well, didn't have any time to experiment with my device, lots of stuff to do at work.

  • How do you get charge for visual voicemail?

After reading a couple of post and being completely confused by them I tried an experiment. I turn airplane mode on and then proceed to check my voicemail from earlier.
The voicemail played without me connecting to AT$T. So this verifies that the actual voicemail is someone being pushed over to your phone. WHich explains why you can now play the voicemail in any order. (it's like playing songs like your ipod basically)
So then here's the question: DO we still get charged for listening to the message itself?
ON a traditional cell phone everytime you listen to a voicemail message you lose airtime according to how long you listen to that message. No with the iphone things are different. Voicemails are storage on the handset and not located at at&t.
Based on what i am reading there are two parts to the visual voicemail. 1.) the actual service that is "pushing" the voice messages to the iphone and 2.) listening to the messages
Since the message is already on the iphone there is no way for at&t track how many times or how long you've been listening to your voicemail.
So 2 things can happen. 1.) the visual voicemail plan actually covers the whole thing. Listening to messages on the phone and the service that does the pushing.
or 2.) as someone earlier posted, you still get charged for voicemail. It's charged before it's been pushed to your phone. So if X calls me and leaves me a 5 minute message, i will lose 5 minutes of airtime before before i even had a change to check the message.
NOw if number is true then that would suck.
Can someone verify if this is true

you don't get charged per message.
There's a flat rate fee for the visual voicemail service that is included in the $20/month iPhone data plan.
The information gets sent via the Edge network to your phone, where it is stored until you delete it.

  • I want to get rid of my voicemail password on iPhone 4s

Out of the blue my voicemail makes me type in my password to access my voicemail.  I never had this before and find it very irritating and do not want it.  I have tried the 'fix-it' solution put forth in goggling the question, and nothing worked despite repeated tries - which was to open the phone app, press 1, then press 4 and follow instructions.   But as soon as I press 1, I am told to enter my password and then it goes directly into voicemail; I don't have any other options.
I will be SO grateful for anyone who can help me with this.

    Thanks everyone.
The solution was to talk in person to someone in Verizon tech support.  They ended up (after many trials and getting my same result) of having to reset my network - after that was done I had to put in my wifi password again and all was well.
    To do this:
    go to Settings/General/Reset/Reset Network Settings.
Hope this helps someone else and saves them about 2 hours of trying to figure it out.

  • HT201436 Visual Voicemail - no message

Help with this issue please: I receive a prompt saying I have a new voicemail. It will list the name of the person that called but the duration of the message will remain 0:00 and the play button is not live. A day or two later or longer the message appears and can be played. Any idea why this is or how I can retrieve messages in the interim?

    Hi, chuckmaguy.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Try forcing all open applications to close in multitasking and restart the device.  Once this is done test accessing your voicemail.  If the issue persists, see the troubleshooting steps in the second article below.

  • How do I get rid of the automated message after my outgoing voicemail?

    Hey Everyone,
I have a 16GB iPhone 3G, and I recently I contacted AT&T regarding problems I was having with the recently deployed Free Wi-Fi service at AT&T hotspots. The problem was resolved, but in the process AT&T reset my voicemail account. Since then, every time someone calls me, they hear my custom outgoing voicemail message, followed by the dreaded automated message, "At the tone, please record your message. When you are finished recording, you may hang up or press 1 for more options." One of my favorite things about the iPhone's visual voicemail was that it cut through all this type of excess! In an effort to resolve this (it was never like the before and I know I don't get the automated message when I call my friends who have iPhones), I called Apple Tech Support. They told me there to call the number 1-800-331-0500, and simply reset my pass code, and that this would fix it. Feeling relieved, I followed their instructions, but to no avail. I called AT&T and was told that "This is a new feature that AT&T has added to their voicemail service" and that "Anyone who has their voicemail reset would now have this new feature added to their voicemail." I was told there is no way to disable it! Is this in fact the case? Am I now stuck with this new "feature"? If anyone knows how to get rid of this, please let me know! If anyone from Apple is reading this, can you PLEASE see if anything can be done about removing this extremely annoying "feature" from iPhone voicemail? Thanks very much!
    David

    Hi David,
On your iPhone, when you press Phone> Voicemail, does it Call standard voicemail or show Visual Voicemail?
It sounds like this issue would be resolved by contacting AT&T again.

  • How do I get my visual voicemail back on my iPhone 4?

how do I get my visual voicemail back on my iPhone 4?

I have same question.  I have a preowned phone (replace one I jumped in pool with) and when I hit the voicemail button it calls voicemail and brings up the keypad screen.  I hate not seeing my list of v/m's.  Has been this way since I got it/put my sim card into the phone  (iPhone4)

  • I lost my Visual Voicemail when upgrading to iphone 5. New phone was set up from itunes backup of iphone4 but my Mac tells me there is an iCloud back up of my phone prior to this date. Will my Vis Voicemail be on this and can I get it on my new phone?

I lost my Visual Voicemail when upgrading to iphone 5. New phone was set up from itunes backup of iphone4 but my Mac tells me there is an iCloud back up of my phone prior to this date. Will my Vis Voicemail be on this and can I get it on my new phone?

I see.  Apple's documentation on what is included in the iCloud backup doesn't explicitly say that it contains voicemails, but that doesn't mean it does not.  You would just have to try restoring the backup to find out.
To restore to your iCoud backup you have to start by erasing the phone.  Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  Then go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud backup.  You will then sign into your iCloud account, accept the terms and conditions, then choose the backup you wish to restore from.  To see an older backup, you may need to tap "Show older backups" (see image below).  Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish.
If this does not recover your voicemails, you can check to see if you have an older iTunes backup that may contain them.  Available backups are shown in iTunes Preferences>Devices on the Backups list.
If all else fails, you could try contacting your carrier.  Voicemail is a carrier feature and they may have an archive you could access.

  • Already asked AT&T and Apple Support. Updated iPhone 4 to iOS 7.0.3, some older Visual Voicemails disappeared. Just noticed today. Not backed up in iTunes. Can I get them back?

New to this site, sorry if I didn't enter my question correctly ... Updated iPhone 4 to iOS 7.0.3, some older Visual Voicemails disappeared. Just noticed today. Not backed up in iTunes. Can I get them back?

    HALF-SOLUTION!!!! (Restoring only, basically.)
    Restore the phone via iCloud.com
    1. Go to iCloud.com , and log in.
    2. If you want a back up, make sure you back it up to itunes now!
    3. Now back to iCloud.com - select the device you want. Press "Erase iPhone" (or iPad, iPod whatever).
You will go through a few steps. Skip the phone number and leave a message, as it isn't lost. Your phone will be restored. No need for plugging in!
    4. IMPORTANT: Just set it up as usual. Language, country blah. But then you'll get to a step where it says something like "This iPhone was erased with iCloud. Log in with the Apple ID you used to erase it". In this case, my Dad's. So please do that. Later on, the phone will ask for an Apple ID to be used for the phone. I put my own one as I didn't want my dads!!!! Lol....
    5. Plug into iTunes and back-up.
As for updating, I'm still on 7.0.2,,, it ain't working on my phone or itunes!! :(

  • Want to get rid of voicemail??? can't I?

I have verizon iphone 4. I do not want any caller to reach my visual voicemail.
I dont want their calls going to voicemail when I ignore them or miss the call.
I spoke to verizon/apple executive and they say its impossible. I mean why? Everytime the caller reaches my voice mail they get charged for the minutes (and yea they are precious for people with limited plan minutes).
Why is iphone4 so robust for voicemail? I mean what's a big deal in disabling it?
    Any views??

I personally would like apple to atleast let users choose what features they want or do not. If i want to disable this feature, cant something be done for it?
Also when i travel out of usa, because of this voicemail feature i have to pay more, unless i keep my phone off.

In response to below------Thank you Lynn-----Yes, there is a main panel--I will attach----and if you have any further suggestions please let me know--Thanks again
How are you running this program? Is there a top level vi which calls the ones you posted? The Display image on screen.vi will display two images in succession, but according to the note on the block diagram the second image is blank. It seems as though this would intentionally create a flicker.
The sequence structure is unnecessary. Dataflow will determine the order of execution. The only exception is the time delay in the third frame. Since it has no data dependency, a single frame sequence may be useful to assure that the delay occurs before the picture is updated. A simple state machine might be a more versatile architecture for what you may be trying to do.
It is not necessary to write the FR.PanelBounds property immediately after reading it, nor is it necessary to read it a second time in the second frame. Just wire from the first read.

  • Unable to activate visual voicemail. Get error code 9009.

Took the device to the Verizon store and they couldn't figure it out either. My husbands phone (same model) having the same problem. Verizon is replacing due to warranty. Anyone else have this issue?

This happened to me also (on a Note 4). Here's what I did to resolve it:
    1. Open the phone feature, access the dialer and dial *73. I received a prompt stating that my call forwarding was activated. I pressed the deactivate button.
    2. Go to Settings > Applications > Application Manager,  then swipe the top bar to "All", then scroll down and locate the Voice Mail app, then open it.
    3. Click the Force Stop button first, then click the Clear Data button.
At this point, try relaunching the Voice Mail app. If all works well, you should get an introduction page to set up your visual voicemail.

  • I recently bought the new Iphone 4S on the Bell network.  I subscribe to visual voicemail, and when I get a voicemail I can listen to them but when I go to delete them it freezes the screen for a second or two and goes back to the homescreen.

I recently bought the new Iphone 4S on the Bell network.  I subscribe to visual voicemail, and when I get a voicemail I can listen to them but when I go to delete them it freezes the screen for a second or two and goes back to the homescreen. Anyone else having this problem?  I've called Belland they're clueless about this, and Apple support doesnt seem to know much about it either.

I was mislead as well.  It turns out that visual voicemail is only partially supported by Bell.  You can only playback voicemail.  It doesn't show the caller ID either.  You still have to call your VM in order to delete messages (which kinda defeats the purpose).  According to Bell tech support they're "working on it" but I wouldn't hold my breath.

  • Do I have to pay for the Visual Voicemail in order to get my voicemail notifcations?

Do I have to pay for the Visual Voicemail in order to get my voicemail notifcations?

    AdaS_VZW,
I attempted to locate Voicemail within Settings and it is not coming up (see attached). Currently I am in a trial with the Visual Voicemail (after samsung update, it automatically signed me up).I have confirmed with others to see if they have left a voicemail and they have and I did not get the notifications. I tested the voicemail currently and the status stated that I have to continue to sign into Visual Voice Mail. I opted to Decline, and it still shows that I have to sign in to get my voicemail. I just want to get notifications without paying for it. Do I have to go through the Visual Voice Mail in order to get my notifications?

  • How do i get rid of the red dot on my voicemail which is deactivated

how can i get rid of the red dot on the voice mail icon its driving me crazy
    please help

Check to see if you have any old VM and listen/delete them.
Try a reset... press the home and sleep/lock buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
