Get SNMP Tools (not services) installed via a script or GPO

Hello all,
I noticed with Windows 2012 R2 SNMP service is installed and running but you need the SNMP tools installed to see the Traps and Security Tabs. Does anyone have a .bat and vbs file that does this? I also, want to setup to configure Community public to read
write and add host to the accept snmp packets as wll as trap destinations. I have a server call zabbix which I need to enter that server name into those areas.

Hi k-master,
Based on your description, I understand that you want to deploy exe tool via
Group Policy. As I know, exe file can’t be deployed via Group Policy. So, regarding to your target, you can refer to following 2 suggestions.
Use a computer startup script to run the exe with unattended parameters. Regarding to detailed script, you can post requirement in the
Script Forum. I believe we will get a better assistance there.
Get MSI package (convert the EXE to MSI package), then you can deploy the MSI file via
Software installation setting in group policy. For more details, please refer to this
KB. Meanwhile, please refer to the following article.
Set Options for Group Policy Software Installation
If anything I misunderstand, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Hope this helps.

Justin Gu

  • Getting iTunes was not properly installed

iTunes has been installed on my Windows XP box for several years.  I am running version 10.5.3.3.
Just last week I started getting the message:
    iTunes was not properly installed.....
I have re-installed but am still getting the message.
    Any ideas?

    CD Driver DLL 2.1.3.1
With that one, I'd start with solution 3 from the following document:

  • I am trying to install Xmarks on Firefox 12 but get "Xmarks could not be installed because Firefox cannot modify the necessary file." Already reinstalled FF.

Noticed that my wife's laptop (same make and model as mine) appeared different and had no "Reload" icon. Ran FF in Safe Mode and disabled all add-ons and reset toolbars and controls. When that resolved the problem, I made the changes and restarted. Was able to re-install all the other add-ons (WOT, Adblock, No Script, All-in One-Sidebar, Colorful tabs, and IE tab) without any problem. Tried installing Xmarks thru FF and directly from xmarks.com without any luck.

    Hi cor-el,
'''''FINALLY!!''''' When I deleted all the "extension" suggestions you made (along with .rdf that was in KB) and it did not work, I tried to uninstall via CCleaner (without success) and then via the Control Panel (again, without success) and then through the FF "uninstall\helper.exe" - still without success. Had to delete each file one at a time until I got to the corrupt file at the end of the Application Data tree (extensions - chrome - locale - "vi"). Getting rid of that file took some doing, but once accomplished the uninstall was finished. In the process.
Thanks again for the guidance as the problem was a corrupt file in extensions. Too bad it could not be corrected with the easier/faster deletions you suggested.
Will wait before installing FF 13 as the machine is running much faster now and want to give it time to make sure it was FF causing it to be so slow. Have to echo what some others have said about disliking ANY program that does not allow for it to be uninstalled.

  • Make, gzip, man, and other tools not properly installed

    Hey,
I have installed Solaris 8 on a SPARC box. It is running good and the IPlanet server and another applicaiton server are doing their jobs. However as I try and do things (add perl is how I found out) I keep finding that I am missing commands. So far the ones that don't work are man, gzip, and make. I have no idea why they wouldn't be on the system but i have run find several times and drew a blank for make. I found man and gzip, and if i run gzip from the directory which it is installed in it will run fine. I found man but it won't run at all. Has anyone else encountered this??
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi,
I am not sure if you tried this yet but type the following in a terminal window:
    #echo $PATH
This will tell you what is in your path. It sounds like your path is not set correctly seeing as you said in order to run gzip you have to cd to the directory that it is installed in. You may want to add these to your path in your .login file.

  • BI Admin Tool - Setting connection pool via shell script - Is it possible?

    Hi,
Here's the problem I am trying to solve.
I am using a J2EE application that uses OBIEE for reporting.
The *.rpd file is installed at a particular location when our J2EE product is installed.
I then copy the *.rpd file to the BI home on a different server using a shell script.
The shell script that deploys the *.rpd file does the following:
    1. Shuts down BI processes that are running
    2. Deletes the old *.rpd file
    3. Copies the new *.rpd file
    4. Starts all BI processes
I am happy with the way we have automated this process, but would like to take it one step further.
The *.rpd file does not have the connection pool hard-coded in it. And we want to keep it that way.
What we would like to do is - pass the connection pool parameters to the shell script (that is used for *.rpd's deployment) and have it automatically update the *.rpd file. Is it possible to do this at all? How do we go about accomplishing this?
Or in other words - Is there a way to update the connection pools WITHOUT hard-coding it in the *.rpd file or WITHOUT using the BI Administration Tool.
Currently, we manually update the connection pools in the Physical Layer using the Oracle BI Administration Tool.
The version of BI Administration Tool being used is 10.1.3.3.1 installed on a Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 machine. The BI Server itself is running on an Oracle Enterprise Linux 4.0 box.
Do let me know if you need more information that would help answer this question.
    Thank you.

Thank you - fiston and Gagan.
I am going with fiston's solution - since it is easier to implement. I am on the QA team and the automated deployment is to lessen QA's deployment time.
While one of our developer's said that she prefer's Gagan's solution - it would be over-kill to make changes to the application's schema for the said purpose.
I will further make another post as to whether or not the automated deployment worked for us.

  • How to get query response time from ST03 via a script ?

    Hello People,
I am trying to get average query response time for BW queries with a script (for monitoring/historisation).
I know that this data can be found manually in ST03n in the "BI workload'.
However, I don't know how to get this stat from a script.
My idea is to run a SQL query to get this information, here is the state of my query :
    select count(*) from sapbw.rsddstat_olap
    where calday = 20140401
    and (eventid = 3100 or eventid = 3010)
    and steptp = 'BEX3'
The problem is that this query is not returning the same number of navigations as the number shown in ST03n.
Can you help me to set the correct filters to get the same number of navigation as in ST03n ?
    Regards.

    Hi Experts,
Do you have ideas for this SQL query ?

  • How to get CAL license type from installed window server 2008 r2

    Hi,
we have domain controllers which is installed with windows server 2008 r2 datacenter. now we need get the cal information of that servers like whether its per device or per user. can I get the information from an installed server. any scripts?
    Thanks, Venkatesh. "Hardwork Never Fails"

    Hi Venkatesh,
As Diramoh suggested, we do not need to install CAL in Windows Servers unless it is RDS CALs. You can put the document into your administration papers.
However, if you need further assistance about license, it is recommended to visit the Volume Licensing Microsoft Licensing Center.

    Hi joej49728017,
I am so sorry for the inconvenience caused. However this is just because Adobe Acrobat 7.0 is an outdated version & the now the activation server for it does not exist.
Please refer to the following KB doc.  Error: "Activation Server Unavailable" | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
The above link will help you to  install a special version that does not require activation.
In case you further need any help, please let us know. We will be more than happy to help you.

Me too. And if someone comes back on here with the same solution of "uninstall and re-install", please provide further advice after you have done that 3 times and the program still has the same problem in addition to the "failure to load the C runtime library" R6034 issue. I have removed itunes 3 times however I do not have permission to remove the program files/apple file and the uninstall doesn't remove it.
    You're not alone buddy.

  • SSIS: To run a SSIS package outside of SQL Server Data Tools you must install SCR - DP1 Connections of Integration Services or higher

We have SSIS installed on a machine that is not part of a cluster but it is accessible by the cluster.
Our job we have running on the cluster is failing with the following error:
    Error: 2014-01-31 09:14:37.52     Code: 0xC000F427     Source: SCR - DP1 Connections
Description: To run a SSIS package outside of SQL Server Data Tools you must install SCR - DP1 Connections of Integration Services or higher.  End Error
Any advice or information on how to resolve this would be great.
    Many Thanks.

    Hi NessaBella,
Integration Services service is not a cluster-aware service, and does not support failover from one cluster node to another. Therefore, in a clustered environment, Integration Services should be installed and started as a stand-alone service on each node
    in the cluster.
Based on the error message, it seems that SSIS is not installed on the cluster node on which the job was running. Although SSIS is installed on a machine that is not part of the cluster and can be accessed by each cluster node, the SSIS service installed
on a remote server cannot be used a cluster node. So, please install the shared feature SQL Server Integration Services on each cluster node. Besides, if certain packages need to run in 32-bit mode in certain jobs and the SQL Server installed is 64-bit version,
you also need to install BIDS/SSDT on the cluster node to get the 32-bit runtime of SSIS.

  • Ipod service could not be installed

Installing update to iTunes on PC and getting error "ipod service could not be installed" and now my ipod shuffle is not being recognized.

steps below worked for me ( windows 7 x86/32bits )
close SysInternals's Process Explorer ( if you have it and it's open )
    close all Task Manager(s)
    close Windows Services console ( services.msc )
    close all command prompts ( cmd.exe )
    open a cmd.exe as Admin
run: sc create "iPod Service" binpath= "C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe"
    close all command prompts ( cmd.exe )
    open Windows Services console ( services.msc )
look for "iPod Service", see if it's not Disabled. If so, start it
    close Windows Services console ( services.msc )
Run iTunes.msi again ( previously downloaded via the Apple Software Update's Only Download function )

  • Keep getting error message: Windows installer is not correctly installed

    Hello all..
After trying to install some software or getting the thinkvantage update I keep getting this error message.
"The Windows Installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."
So I've restarted and made sure I was in normal mode. Didn't help.  Does anyone have any idea before I put this thing into the shop?? LOL
    Thanks!

  • HT1349 Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

Initially iTunes would not run although it had been running quite well up until now. Suddenly received this error on PC start-up "The program can't start because MSVC80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Research on Net pointed me to iTunes as the issue. Tried to start iTunes and received that message again. Tried installing latest version of 64-bit iTunes and received the subject message part way through the install: Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
iTunes has been running great on this PC for years. What's up?
