Get SPRY to start at 0%

I hae spent a few hours now on the internet trying to find
the answer to the Grow/Shrink delema of having it start off with a
the image at it's min. setting instead of it's larger setting. I
can not find anything on this that is clear. Looking at code and
trying to decipher it is not my forte'. i was hoping more for,
"change this.js code to this, or add this, or remove that" but so
far nothing. So I have moved on to the SLIDE effect and I am now
faced with the same delima.
Can SOMEONE please help here.
Thanks,
Houston

David,
Thank you so much for the step by step tutorial. That is more
of what i was looking for. The only problem I find with that
solution is that I really don't want the people coming to the page
to see the image shrinking as the page loads. As I was burning the
midnight oil last night I opted to use the SLIDE effect
as
seen on this page What i would like is to have the image start
completely hidden, and then when you click on "Marina Map" then it
shoes up and then of course hides again when you click on "Marina
Map" again. The onLoad solutions seems more like a hack or patch
than a actually starting off with the effect at it's smallest
setting instead of always starting at it's largest setting.
Hope this makes sense.
EDIT:I have since changed from SLIDE to FADE because I
thought it looked nicer but now I notice when I do that I loose the
ability to control the items that appear under the SLIDE effect.
Since I am showing a sideshow, the user needs to be able to
interact and with the image actually still there, but hidden, he
can not. DARN. I really liked that effect. Now I have to go back to
the SLIDE effect so that it will work.
Thanks again,
Houston

  • How To Get Spry Slide Function To Remember Position?

    Hello,
I'm building a site with a horizontal bar that has dynamically loaded thumbnails of images, and the user can click on the left arrow or right arrow to "slide" the images left and right (a bit like the most recent Netflix interface, if you've seen that). In an effort to do it quick 'n' easy, I employed the Spry Effects (SpryEffects.js)--specifically, the slide function ( MM_effectSlide(), or Spry.Effect.DoSlide() ).
I would like the user to click on the right arrow and see the next, say, 10 images, and then the next 10 and so on. To achieve this, I created a long DIV inside another "masking" DIV and told Spry to slide the inside DIV. This all works well.
However, I'm having trouble getting the Spry to start from the CURRENT position and slide to a new position. If I leave the "from" option as null, it still starts from a position other than the current position.
Does anyone have any tips/pointers/suggestions? I'd rather not recreate the entire Javascript functionality, but rather hack the existing Spry functions.
    Thanks in advance!
    JP

It sounds to me as though you're using the wrong Spry feature. To do what you want, you need Spry Sliding Panels.
Unfortunately, Spry Sliding Panels are not incorporated into Dreamweaver, you need to code everything yourself. The documentation is here:
http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/slidingpanels/SlidingPanelsSample.html. You'll also need to download the Spry framework from Adobe Labs to get the relevant external JavaScript files.

  • On my Mac Pro how can I get voiceover to start reading at a specific point on a document?, on my Mac Pro how can I get voiceover to start reading at a specific point on a document?

On my Mac Pro how can I get voiceover to start reading at a specific point in a document, and then continue on to the next paragraph and so on?  Thank you.  Ed

    Welcome to the Apple family!!!!
How can I cause the VO cursor(box) show-up/start?
Press Control-Option and F5.   The F5 key is located on the top row of keys 6th key over.  This is a toggling "Keyboard Shortcut" for turning VoiceOver on and off.
How can I move the VO cursor to various sentences or paragraphs of an article and have it start reading ... and perhaps even continue reading on to the next paragraph(s) ... even to the end of the article?
How to read a website with VoiceOver
Step 1:  Go to the Website
A quick keyboard shortcut is Command-L.  This will jump you up to the address bar.  Start typing where you want to go.  i.e "www.thewebsite.com"
    Step 2:  Working with Webpage
VoiceOver will automatically start reading the website.  You can pause the speech by hitting the 'Control Button'.
If VoiceOver does not being reading the webpage, then you might have to "Interact" with it.  If VoiceOver say "HTML Content" then press Control-Option-Space-Down Arrow to interact with the webpage.
Use Control-Option-Right Arrow to move throught the website.  This will speak "EVERYTHING" on the page.
Most website that I've found have their articles labeled as 'Heading'.  You can jump from heading to heading, by pressing Control-Option-Shift-H.
If you'd like an itemized alphabetical listing of the site, press Control-Option-I
Press Control-Option-Space on the link or article you want to view.
Step 3.  Reading from Top to Bottom
Once you found and clicked on the the article/link, use the same 'Heading' command, Control-Option-Shift-H to find the title.
After finding the title, press Control-Option-A will start reading from the title on.
Note:  If there are any other items (ads, pictures, etc) it will read those too.
Tip:  You might be able to activate a feature called the 'Reader'.  The Reader isolates the article and elimanates the ads  The keyboard command is Shift-Command-R.  You can also find it in the Menu Bar (Command-Option-M) under the word 'View' then 'Show Reader'.
I am using a MACPro with OSX, probably Mavericks 10.9 (where would I look to see if that is the correct information?)
You can find this information under the 'Apple menu' in the Menu Bar.  To access the Menu Bar, press Control-Option-M.
Go to Apple Menu > About This Mac.  This will open up another window.  Use Control-Option-Right Arrow until you hear 'Version'.  If you purchased it brand new from Apple within the last six month, more than likely you have Mavericks.

The  'Commands Help' Voiceover Menu. Control-Option-H-H.  (hit H twice)  is my best friend.  It's a searchable VoiceOver Menu with most of the VoiceOver command.  Example:  You are looking for the 'Read Current Paragraph' keyboard command.   Press Control-Option-H-H and then type Paragraph.  It will then bring up all the commands with the word paragraph.  I believe there are three.
As from the Trackpad Commands, I've copied and pasted below from Appendix A: Commands and Gestures

  • How to get a fresh start to successfully install creative cloud for mac?

I start with install creative cloud for download trials, however, since I'm in China, the creative cloud somehow automatically defaults and installs the software in Chinese version(for example, there is no way that I can choose the language of premiere, then it already been installed in my mac system in Chinese). I thought that perhaps it's because my account is set in China, then I try to uninstall all the trials, and try to delete creative cloud from my mac ios platform, but because I'm not familiar with the IOS platform, I think I didn't delete the creative cloud properly, after that, even I successfully install the English version of PRE, the creative cloud couldn't work. And I couldn't open AE v12.0 with mac IOS v10.9.4 unless upgrade AE to v12.0.1, and since the creative cloud wouldn't work, the adobe application manager is also not working. When I try to open application manager it shows this(even though the creative cloud is already installed):
And I download creative cloud again from the URL, try to install, after that, creative cloud is running, but it shows still damaged.
So all in all, how could I fix this crisis circle?
How could my IOS system get a fresh start to install the creative cloud, it's there some files that I suppose to delete or what? Please try to give me a clear instruction with this, there are similar problems with people around me as well, I want to help them, too.
And also what is the difference between adobe application manager and creative cloud?
Look forward to your reply, thanks.

  • Cannot install Windows 7 Pro; gets stuck on "Starting Windows" screen

I have read dozens of posts on this topic but none has helped yet.
My system has Windows 8 with UEFI. I want to install Windows 7 Pro on another partition. I have turned off Secure Boot in the UEFI/BIOS. When I try to install Windows 7 Pro from a DVD it shows "windows is loading files" and then gets stuck on "Starting Windows"
for ever. This happens even when no USB peripherals are attached.
I have already wasted many days on this. I hope someone can help.
    Thanks!

    Hi friends of the internet
I have been reading several forums regarding the issue of installing windows 7 (64 bit) to a computer that have had windows 8 installed previously or just a GPT formatted disk.
    My Case:
Windows version installed: Windows 7 Professional N with Service Pack 1 (x64) or Windows 7 Professional (x64)
    Computer used: Samsung laptop
    Model Code: NP53U4C-A02SE
    See the specks here:
    http://www.samsung.com/dk/consumer/computer-peripherals/notebook/notebook/NP535U4C-A02SE-spec
Create a USB install disk that not freezes at ”starting windows” screen:
First I followed this great guide (Thanks Daniel):
    http://
    hodgin.ca/2012/10/02/creating-a-uefibios-windows-7-usb-and-installing-to-gpt-partitions/
    STOP AFTER STEP 13!
    1. Open a command line in administrator mode
    2. run DISKPART
    3. type LIST DISK
    4. Look for the disk number that represents your USB drive
    5. type SELECT DISK # where # represents the number of your USB drive. Get this right or you will wipe a different drive out.
    6. type CLEAN
    7. type CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
    8. type SELECT PARTITION 1
    9. type ACTIVE
    10. type FORMAT fs=fat32 quick
    11. type assign
    12. The drive should now be formatted and marked as active and fat32. Do not format the drive as NTFS or you will only be able to boot into the installer in BIOS mode.
    13. Now you will need to copy the contents of the windows 7 install dvd to the USB with a regular copy paste from windows explorer.
Here comes a very weird hack... I do not know why it works, but I think it is all about flash drive data structure. I did these steps on a win 7 prof. computer.
    (Let’s assume it’s drive E:)
Make a copy of your e:\efi\microsoft folder to e.g. your desktop.
    Delete the e:\efi folder
Copy the \efi folder from a windows 8 installation disk (I used Windows 8 (x64) Professional) to the e:\efi folder. Sorry I cannot provide this for you.
Here comes the weird part. Then delete e:\efi\microsoft you just copied from the win 8 installation disk.
Copy the \microsoft folder form the desktop to e:\efi\microsoft
Resume the guide from step 18.:
    http://
    hodgin.ca/2012/10/02/creating-a-uefibios-windows-7-usb-and-installing-to-gpt-partitions/
    18. Insert the USB in the machine and turn it on and boot into the UEFI/BIOS loader and check for boot options. On the ASUS Zenbook it detected two boot options on the USB drive. One was UEFI and one was regular BIOS. I made the
UEFI option the first choice and restarted the machine.
    My bios setup was:
    Secure Boot = Disable
OS Mode Selection = CSM and UEFI OS
Boot Device Priority = I made the UEFI option the first choice and restarted the machine.
    The installation should start normal.
    E.g. See this guide:
    www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/186875-uefi-unified-extensible-firmware-interface-install-windows-7-a.html
    What I did was:
    Select custom installation (Advanced).
    Click Drive options (Advanced).
Delete all partitions (this might not be needed). When I did not delete all partitions I was asked every time after the install, during start up by the windows boot manager to select ether win 8 or win 7.
Click new (DO NOT make Changes in the size of the disk), apply, see NOTE!
Edit the Primary partition as you want it e.g. divide it to more partitions.
Select the one you will install windows on and do a normal install.
I do not make changes in the Bios after install. The Boot priority is automatic set to “Windows boot manager”. If I change the boot mode back to OS Mode Selection = UEFI OS, the computer will freeze at the “starting windows” screen again.
All this worked for me, good luck. There might be more to it, but this is a start.
By the way, the start up time for a MBT install was 37 s. And for the GPT it was 49 s.
Remember if we stand on each other’s shoulders we will reach higher
    J.
NOTE: Here the installation program should create three partitions automatically!
Partition 1 - System - The EFI System partition that contains the NTLDR, HAL, Boot.txt, and other files that are needed to boot the system, such as drivers.
Partition 2 - MSR - The Microsoft Reserved (MSR) partition that reserves space on each disk drive for subsequent use by operating system software.
Partition 3 - Primary - Where Windows is to be installed to.
If this isn’t the cast you are not installing in UEIF mode. To check for this (thanks again Daniel):
If you need to find out if you have booted into BIOS mode or UEFI mode when the installer starts you can press SHIFT+F10 when the welcome installer shows up to open a cmd prompt. from here you will likely be at X:\Sources. Type cd .. to
go back a dir and move into \Windows\Panther\
    Then type notepad setupact.log
Within this file do a ctrl+f and search for
        Callback_BootEnvironmentDetect: Detected boot environment:
It should either say BIOS or UEFI.
To check if your disk is in the GPT format.
    Open the command prompt.
    Type: DISKPART
    Type: List Disk
See for the star (*) in the GPT column

I have master suite cs6. on mac osx. bridge has been quitting unexpectedly. Also, getting message at start up that states that "bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. Please try purging the central cache in Cache Preferences to correct the situation" I have purged the cache several times and adjusted settings with no change. I also downloaded the entire suite and installed. Do I need to uninstall all of the programs before installing the suite? There is not an option to install only Bridge from the install package.

    Maria,
Topic or subject titles should be clear, pertinent and concise so that individual users can tell at a glance if they can help or not.
That field is not for attempting to fit your entire question in there.
Please keep this in mind next time you post.  Thank you.

  • Can't get WRT54G to start up, gets stuck at "checking computer settings"

Can't get WRT54G to start up, gets stuck at "checking computer settings" at 99% Please help!
If I hit the escape key it will go to the password screen, it looks like the password is already entered for me so I hit enter, but then it just goes back to "checking computer settings" and won't go past 99% again.'
Sorry but the last post mistakenly said the wrong number so I posted this.

If you are running the install CD that came with the router, the behavior you describe is exactly what happened when I tried using the CD today. The CD didn't seem to work with my computer's fixed IP address (not in the 192.168.1.0 network.)
What worked for me was to set my computer to have the fixed IP address 192.168.1.2. Then I was able to contact the router using its web interface at 192.168.1.1 amd make the necessary settings.
The password had NOT been changed from the default despite the install CD software seemingly accepting a new password. The default password worked.

  • Can't get it to start up

I decided to finally transfer all my files from my old iMac to my new computer tonight and went to turn it on and it started making this strange clicking noise and then just showed a folder with a question mark. I tried booting up from the install disk to repair, but it freezes up before it finishes loading or gives the "must restart" screen. I haven't turned it on or used it since mid-august, but prior to that it was working just fine. From what I have read, the clicking is probably the hard drive going bad, but I don't want to replace it because I am getting rid of the computer once I get my files off of it. What can I do to get it to start up right?

Your looking for the least expensive solution. The situation is confusing. The clicking sound when you startup suggest a disk failure. In this case, your machine should start from a cd. The fact that both the harddrive & the cd don't boot suggest some other problem.
Do you have the other cd's that came with the system? Suggest you try one of them... like 9.x.
Why don't you try to boot in target disk mode. Hold down the t key when powering on.
My mac is running on 10.2 (never upgraded it past that), so is the 10.2 disk I was using the right one? If so, what am I doing wrong to get it to start up off of that disk so I can use the disk utility?
Not sure. Try another bootable disk.
If I get an enclosure, is there a specific kind I need and will it still work if the hard drive is completely trashed?
I recommend one from OWC. See my earlier post.
If you have a hardware problem with your harddrive, putting it in a external enclosure will not help. But, it's the next cheapest thing after buying a firewire cable. However, it will let you run the disk recovery software.
I'm trying to avoid getting a bunch of new parts for it just to get the info off the hard drive when I am intending to get rid of the computer. What is going to be the cheapest thing I can do to make it work long enough to copy my pictures, documents, etc off of it?
    1) Firewire cable
    2) external firewire enclosure
From what I have heard going to a data recovery specialist is going to cost several hundred dollars at a minimum.
