Get start and end date for posting period (YYYYMMM format)

In revenue recognition I'd like to have the start date and the end date of the posting period, which is in format YYYYMMM. It's field VBREVR-BDJPOPER.
Any idea?
I had no luck so far to find a relevant FM.

Use this FM To convert the date into DD.MMM.YYYY format
CONVERSION_EXIT_SDATE_OUTPUT.
Use the followiong FM To convert the date into user specified format
SLS_MISC_CONVERT_TO_DATE

Start and End dates for users in Enterprise portal

I have to maintain start and end dates for around 200 users in 4 different Java systems. When I export the file of users it does not capture the validity fields. Is there a way/script to automate this? Otherwise I will have to do it manually.

Effective start and end dates for a compensation workbench plan

Hi all,
We are having a requirement where we want to get the data respective to current plan for reporting purposes. What i have noticed is there is no such thing as effective_start_date and effective_end_date directly in all the cwb tables.
The different dates we are looking at to capture the data are
enrt_perd_start_dt and enrt_perd_end_dt
upd_strt_dt and upd_end_dt
within_yr_strt_dt and within_yr_end_dt
But we have same plan with different enrollment period and start dates. We are planning to use max(data_freeze_date or lf_evt_occrd_dt) to get
the records.

Catch with this is, We have 62 business groups off which only 50 might run the plan next year and ohters might not. in that case it will also return data for all the BG's including the 12 BG's where plan has not been run for that year.
Any suggestions or help will greatly be appreciated.

I am also of the same opinion. Start and end dates can probably be enforced by a policy condition in AM but would lead to proliferation of policies as we would end up creating policies per role entitlement duration for a user.
Any thoughts on whether the sunrise/sunset concept of Identity Manager can be used for this requirement.

How to change both start and end dates for an business event (or any object

Hi all.
We are in the case to change the validity dates for several business events in training management.
The special point is that both, start and end date, have to be changed.
In example, business event 00000001 is valid from 2010.01.01 to 2010.01.31 and shoud be "moved" from 2010.05.01 to 2010.05.31.
So if i run RHBEGDA0 report to change start date first, it doesn't work propperly because new start date is bigger than old enddate.
Next thing we thought is to change end date first, using RHGRENZ1, and then change the start date, with the report RHBEGDA0. Problem with this solution is that a business event duration shoud be calculated taking care of free days (weekends and day ofs).
Is there any better solution for this?

You can write an LSMW for this t-code if the number of business events to be maintained is huge.

Get Start and End times for each step in a job

Can someone tell me how to get the start and end times for each step in a background job? Table TBTCP only stores the time that the step was saved in a background job. Table TBTCO stores the times for the entire job and not each individual step.

How to set up start and end dates for validity of contract account in FICAx

Can anyone tell me where can I set up the validitiy period for the contract account in FICA. In contract creation, I could just see the contract validity start date. I also need to know the validity end date. Please let me know the solution asap.

Yes, you're right, you would then need to develop a lot of user exits to prevent the re-use of the contract account after the validity date.
I'm think in a strange solution, it could work but you'll need to test it. if a contract account is marked for deletion (Field FKKVKP-LOEVM equal to 'X') no further action can be made over it, When you create you contract account you can schedule a change using as validity date (Field BUS000FLDS-VALDT ins the change contract account screen) to the end date of you contract account and set this deletion flag. then you run FPP2A to activate the schedule changes, before you get to the end date the flag is not set, when you get to the end date FPP2A will activate the flag and the contract account becomes not usefull.
If you do this, you have be careful because all the postings to the contract account won't be possible, it means that if there are payment to be made, interests to be calculated, etc... nothing will be posted.

Getting Start and End Date of Current Year?

Hi Folks,
How do I get the start of the year and end of the year in Java ?
If I say :
Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
int day = cal.get(Calendar.DATE);
int month = cal.get(Calendar.MONTH);
int year = cal.get(Calendar.YEAR);
System.out.println("Day: " + day);
System.out.println("Month: " + month);

I get the current day and time.What I need is the start of the current Year (Jan 2010) and the End of the Current Year (Dec 2010).
How can get the above 2 dates if I the current date is March 24th 2010 ?

Yes, It is available standard report using T-code ME2N - Purchasing Document (PO) Per Document Number, enter the T-code and provide the following input data's are as follows.
Scope of List : ALV ( for Ms-Excel format report)
Plant : __________ to __________ (if required)
Document Date : ____________ to ___________ (if Required)
Execute the report shown by default in excel format and if required PO validity start and end data, you have to select Change Layout button and open new window options screen right side field option as Validity Per.Start, Validity Period End, Commutative number field data's are selected and click <--- arrow button and then click bottom tick marked button. Now, the report shown your requirement.

How to determine current period start and end dates

Hi All,
If given previous period start date and end date, how to determine current period start date and end date?
Suppose if given previous period start and end dates are 12/28/08 - 01/30/09, then current period start date and end date will be 01/30/09 - 02/27/09. (where 12 is the previous period, 28 is the day, 08 is the year......)
Can you please suggest an FM to determine the current period dates?

Period start and end dates

Hello Experts,
Can some tell me where we enter the start and end dates of a posting period in a fiscal year which is a year dependent and a non-calendar year?
For ex: Jan 2008, I have to mention the start and end dates of the fiscal period January, because ours is not a calendar year and so the jan 1st and Jan 31st do not correspond with the January's posting period dates.

Hi Sriram,
As Vj suggested, go to transaction OB29. Then select the fiscal year variant and upon selection the variant, click on "Period". This will open up dialog box asking for the fiscal year for which you want to configure. Enter the fiscal year and hit enter. This will open up the calendar table to enter the period entry which has 4 columns: Month, Day, Period and Year Shift.
Make sure you are entering the correct Year Shift. Logic for the Year Shift is as follows.
+1 if the fiscal year is later than the calendar year
-1 if the fiscal year is before the calendar year.
0 if the fiscal year is same as the calendar year.
One example of year shift:
Say, if you are configuring the fiscal year 2007 (April 2007 to March 2008), then January 2008 is your 10th period. Here you hare to enter -1 in Year Shift Column only for January to March (10-12 period) as your fiscal year 2007 is less than the calendar year 2008.

There is no simple way. It has to be a math calculation.
There are several ways you can get the dates. First you have to know what day is January 1st and what day is december 31st for a particular year. Second you have to check whether the given year is a leap year or not. Based on the abvove information you should be able to find out what day is a particular date.
