Get Touch out of recovery
I put my ipod touch 2G in recovery mode (hold home down for 10 sec) for the fun of it but... now its stuck! If it plug it into itunes is says i need to restore. I don't want to loose the stuff on it. There should be a way out of this!

It's not stuck, once you are in recovery mode, you can't get it out without restoring it. Recovery mode is for emergencies. You are not to put it in recovery just for the fun of it!

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

How to get an ipod touch out of recovery mode.
I want to get my iPod Touch out of recover mode and i don't know how I got into it.
All that happened was that my iPod Touch ran out of battery, so I plugged it into my MacBook and when it turned on I just got the Connect to iTunes screen.
I tried turning it off and then on again but to no effect.
I also tried holding down the Home and Power button until the apple logo shows up then release but that still did not work.
What should I do to get it out of recovery mode without restoring??If re-starting the AMDS driver doesn't work, you can try removing iTunes and AMDS, then re-installing iTunes (which will re-install AMDS).
If that doesn't work, try putting the Touch into DFU mode. You kind of mentioned it above where you held the buttons down while connected to iTunes, but it didn't sound exactly correct and it can be a little tricky to get the timing down.
While having the Touch connected to the computer (and iTunes running) hold the Sleep and Home buttons until the Touch screen goes black (about 10 seconds). When that happens release only the Sleep button -- keep holding the Home button until iTunes says it found a device in recovery mode. At that point you release the Home button and will have to Restore the device, and you can try re-loading your last backup after the Restore process completes. -

i tried to restore my iphone 4s because it kept saying "searching..." for service so i decided to restore it, after having already reset all network settings, and after trying to restore all settings. still, it only said "searching..." for service. finally, i tried to restore my iphone. when using my macbook, 3/4 through i recieved a message to update my itunes software. i had to close itunes for the update. when i closed itunes, the iphone restore was in pprogress and having to close the program put my phone into this "recovery mode" with the icon of the usb and the itunes disc logo. i also tried updating and restoring the software with my pc which also didnt work. help?

Reset, can sometimes exit Recovery Mode if nothing is wrong with your iPhone. If there is problem only exit is to connect to iTunes and click the Update or Restore button that iTunes offers you.

Losing hope on being able to get ipod out of recovery mode.
I have tried evrything I have found to do. Disable firewall and antivirus, watched multiple tutorial videos on how to get it out of recovery mode, tried(and failed) DFU mode. Just nohing seems to work. I coninue to get errors when I try to contact update servers, and when I don't get the errors at first and it begins to update and restore, it'll get partially through, then give me an error. I just want my iPod back. It's been 3 long boring days of trying to do the same thing. Please help, anyone.

How do I get phone out of recovery mode?
Tried to update to IOS 8 today and phone froze during the update, from reading lots and lots of articles on the internet I have discovered that it is in recovery mode (with a blue itunes logo). My question is how do I get it out of recovery mode? Itunes does not seem to recognise it when I connect it to my laptop and I have tried the hard reset and also holding the home button while reconnecting.....all help gratefully accepted!!
Make sure that iTunes is up to date, as well as windows (if you are using windows) You will have to restore the device using iTunes If iTunes is not recognizing the device in recovery mode, you may need to call Apple Care. Explain that the device went into recovery mode when updating to iOS 8, and they should help you for no charge.

I've had my iPod Touch 4G for almost five months now. Since my laptop is very slow, I just buy all of my music and apps on my iPod. I actually take the time to transfer everything about once a month. Yesterday I was going to transfer my purchased items from iPod to computer, since I skipped transferring for two months. While I let my computer start up, I checked Facebook on my iPod. Since I had just changed my password Facebook said it was logging me out, but it was taking a bit longer than usual. I decided just to delete and re-download the app. While it was re-downloading, I checked the weather and my whole iPod froze. I clicked the home button multiple times, with no success, so I held the sleep/wake button and home button until the Apple icon showed (that's what I normally do when it freezes). However, the icon stayed on for five minutes. The screen then flashed white, black, and the Apple icon came back on. About a minute later, the screen showed "Connect to iTunes". I connected it, and iTunes said it was in recovery mode and I would have to restore it. It makes me sick to know that I was just about to transfer all of my purchases/photos to my computer, but now everything is gone. Is there any way I can get out of recovery and save everything? Check iTunes / Preferences - Devices. If you have a backup stored there, you may be in luck.
Otherwise, it's a restore.
