Getting a different iPhone 5

I picked up my iPhone 5 on the first day. I wanted to get a black 64gb At&T. I was at the apple store at 4am just to make sure an was 11th in line. When they started passing out cards for the phones, they told me there were no 64gb black AT&T phones. My wife got a black 32gb and I went with the white 64gb because I need the space. The people at apple said I could trade it in within 30 days if the black ones come in. Is that true? Has anyone ever heard of that? Van I just swap a white iPhone for the black one?

The iPhone is avaialble in the U.S. with the following major carriers:
AT&T
Verizon
Sprint
T-Mobile

  • If you're getting your first iPhone 5, does it have to have the same carrier as your computer and T.V. at your house? Or could you get a different, cheaper carrier instead?

I'm hopefully getting an iPhone 5 soon, & I'm just wondering if I could get a different carrier for the phone because I heard that AT&T is more expensive than the other carriers. At my house (for our computer & TV) we have AT&T. So, I'm just wondering if I could get a different carrier for the iPhone instead of AT&T.

  • Do I need to get a different docking system to fit the Iphone 5?

Do I need to get a different docking system for the iphone 5 than what I currently have?

The question is, what do you currently have?  If a system for the older 30-pin dock connector, you will need a converter for the 30-pin dock to Lighning connector.  See the Apple store for the adapter.

Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security, (including anti-phishing and redirects) (Full information about Open DNS is here: http://www.opendns.com/home/nobloat ) and further independent information can be read here:
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57338784-263/free-dnscrypt-tool-enhances-ma c-web-security/?tag=mncol;txt
    and here:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1146064/troubleshootdns.html?t=234
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:

  • Can I get a different color iPhone if I order a replacement through insurance?

Can I get a different color iPhone if I order a replacement through insurance?

        hoseykel,
Thank you for reaching out to us. We are more then happy to assist with this question. When getting the device replaced through insurance, the replacement calls for the same make and model, which includes color. Now if they are not in stock of the same color then they will offer a different color, but normally only in that situation. Let us know if you have any other questions.
    Thank you,

  • Getting a replacement iPhone, would apple let me choose a different colour?

I am getting a replacement iPhone soon due to it being damaged through liquid. They have told me that it would cost £130 for a replacement and I have no problems in paying that.
At the moment i have a white 16gb iPhone 4s, but would apple allow me to choose a black iphone as a replacement instead. Just wanted to know guys..

Apple will not let you change the color, they do everything based off Serial numbers and modle numbers, if theres a mistake in there then it would cause a lot of issues on their side for tech support, and apple doesnt sell refurb iphones as well, your best method is to just replace the phone with apple because you also get another 90 on the hardware warranty

  • Can two people share the same Apple ID on two different iPhones and maintain different passwords?  Yes, there is more to the story.

I have an iMac, and iPhone.  I've had my Apple ID for a few years.
My wife got an iPhone 4S a few months back and the salesperson at Verizon set her Apple ID the same as mine, but gave her a different password.  I don't know if this was ok, but that is what happened.
So, yesterday, we both upgraded to IOS6 and I had no problem logging in to my iPhone with my Apple ID.  When my wife went to log in, she was told that she was entering the wrong password. We entered the password over and over again and still was wrong.
The question is... can two people share the same Apple ID on two different iPhones and maintain different passwords?  (I have the feeling her iPhone is thinking that since it's my Apple ID, it wants my password.)
If not, can I still set up a new Apple ID for her even through she's had the iPhone for a few months?
    Thanks.

    Hi
You shold follow your feelings, its probably right most of the time.
You can have 5 different devices hucked upp to one Apple ID. What I have done is that my wife and I have one Apple ID, when I bye a new app on my phone, She gets it to. Thats nice.
You can allways set upp a new Apple ID for your wife.

  • Can we use 1 computer w/1 Apple ID, but with 2 different iPhones?

My husband is getting his first iPhone for Christmas, and I'm wondering if we can both use the same computer and same iTunes account for our syncing?  Right now, he has an iPod, and we're sharing the same iTunes Apple ID, and it's working okay for us.  We just pick what apps and music, etc we want on our respective devices. What I'm most curious about are the contacts.  He doesn't need/want my contacts and I don't need/want his.  How can we use the same iTunes account and ID, yet essentially have two different phones and all that entails? (Contacts, calendar, etc?)  Is it possible?  Or should I set him up with his own entirelly on a different computer?

You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like with one computer.
Each will only sync what you select.

  • Is it possible to sync two different iphones and an ipad on only one computer?

Is it possible to sync two different iphones and an ipad on only one computer??
My husband has an iphone 4 & ipad. I have an iphone 4S. We both use the same  itunes account. We are having trouble w/ all of our contacts/calendars & info getting all mixed up. We want to both use the same itunes account & apple id so that we dont have to separatley repurchase everything. Can anyone help us w/ this issue? Are we obligated to buy another computer so that we each have one--or is there some way around it? Thanks!!

  • Is it possible to get a new iPhone instead of an old iPhone 5 with paying the difference?

I have an iPhone 5 that recently has a problem with the battery, but today it stopped working.
I am living in Lubbock, TX, and there is no Apple store near by.
I would like to now about the possibilities of fixing the phone or replacing it with paying the difference, and I would like to know if it is possible to send the phone to the store by mail instead of coming by myself.
    Best regards,
    Hussain S.

See if your phone qualifies for a battery replacement here: https://www.apple.com/support/iphone5-battery/
If so, follow the contact links and see what your options are for getting it repaired.
You will get your existing phone repaired (on occasion it would be replaced, but with the exact same model).
If you want a different iPhone, you will have to sell your current one and purchase a new one.

  • Has anyone ever managed to get a 'new' iphone 4 replacement, not refurbished!

Gone through 3 'replacements' now. First (original) had an antenna problem, the second one had pixel issues and the present one has awful, truly awful battery drainage! Enough is enough! Getting tired of all this. Has someone ever managed to get a new iphone 4 replacement which is 'new' and not been refurbished? I was told last time after complaining to the apple care CS that the express service they provide doesn't use 'refurbished' iphones and has a seperate stock. But thats obviously not true since the 'express' one has turned out to be a dod as well!
No chance in **** I am getting another apple product in the future...

Thanks. I've read the warranty terms and other threads on here regarding it but I wanted to know if someone HAD personally gone through something similiar and escalated the matter to the higher CS at AppleCare. If yes, did you get a different result and what was it? Thing is the last time this happened and I got send my present 'replacement' iphone 4 (one with current battery issues), I fell for the whole 'Express Service' (which apparently doesn't use refurbished iphones). This seems a blatant lie since I find it hard to believe that a new phone would have such serious battery issues. Have I just been really unlucky or is this a common theme with replacements?
Would be interesting to know the views of anyone who received a 'refurbished' replacement and is still going strong. Or anyone who has actually managed to speak to the higherups at AppleCare? (people who would think twice before lying to your face since the CS I've spoken to say anything to end the call).

  • Administrate different iphones with itunes

    hallo,
i have to administrate 3 iphones in our company. there will soon be some more of them. what's the best way to administrate all of them central?
can i do this with only one apple-id and one itunes-installation on my computer? i've seen, it's possible to get different iphones in itunes, but how about the apps? when i download them into itunes, they are avalaible for all iphones i connect with my pc. so i have to decide, which apps i will synchronize with the phone? that will be very difficult, when i get more of the iphones....
    please help! thanks!
    lgg

    hallo,
sorry, i am still not able to get the informations i need out if this document.
my problem is, that i should administrate all devices for the use in office. therefore we use the app ianywhere mobile office to sync with outlook. i have to install this app on all of out iphones and i have to do also the updates for this programs. if there is a firmware-update for iphone, i have to do this.
but the iphones are also used private, so that the users can also install apps.
so, how can i administrate these different devices with may itunes on my pc?
when i sync the different iphones, i have all apps in my itunes and i can't see the difference between the iphones, so i don't know which app is on which iphone?

    thänks for help again!
    nice greetings g.

  • How to set the Email(i) address that you get with your iPhone 3G in Japan?

This isn't covered in the U.S. manual probably because the feature is slightly different in Japan.
Basically the issue is this - cell phones in Japan have their own "cell phone email address". I believe that's not the case in the U.S.
So when I got my iPhone 3G in Japan today from Softbank, the cell phone provider, I also got a new email address [email protected] The "i" stands for iPhone.
The question is what to do with it? Unlike other cell phone providers, this is not set up on the cell phone itself when you get it.
    Thanks,
    doug

    I figured it out.
With the iPhone you can set up multiple regular Internet email accounts directly in the Mail app, using either IMAP or POP3 and even have your existing accounts synched from your computer.
It turns out that the [email protected] email account you get with your iPhone is just another "Other" account that you set up in the mail settings. When you add your Softbank address and password it automatically sets up the server to be IMAP for checking mail and the correct SMTP server and it just appears as one more push account in your accounts list.
I'm not sure it is really useful for anything or not, but since a lot of people want to know "what is your cell phone address" I guess it is best to set it and have one rather than explain why you don't really need a separate cell phone address for your iPhone.
It's sort of interesting. And it is actually an improvement over traditional Japanese cell phone email I think. And you can see nice HTML mail to boot.
Anyway, I hope this helps anybody else who doesn't know what to do with their extra Softbank address that comes with their iPhone 3G.
