Getting a document file from the transcribed audio file
I would like to know how to get a "document" file from the transcribed files created by Soundbooth. The files created by SB have 'xml' or 'xmp' extensions and I do not know what to do with these files or how to "read" them.
I am on a macbook pro MAC OS 10.5.5. I have latest versions of Word, and Final Cut Pro.
Any help would be appreciated. This is my first foray into the world of Adobe products.

The Transcript XML files conform to the XML Standards, and are a "marked up" text document containing several pieces of information. You can open the file in TextEdit (on Mac) or Notepad (on Windows) and you should be able to see what sorts of metadata is saved for each word in the transcription. Each transcribed word is stored in a data block, along with its timestamp, the duration of the spoken word, and some other metadata. This information is invaluable when importing the file into other applications or databases.
Neither Soundbooth nor Premiere Pro support exporting the transcript without the additional metadata or XML tags right now, but since it's a basic text file, it should be a very simple chore for a script to parse that file and write out each transcribed word to a new file.

ITunes cannot open files in the "MP3 Audio File" format
Lately I've been getting this error that iTunes can't open MP3 files. It happens when I try to double click on an MP3, however, if I click and drag the MP3 into my iTunes library it opens fine. Not a huge problem....just a nuisance.
Running iTunes 10.0.1I suddenly have this same problem with MacOS 10.6.7 and iTunes 10.2.2. Clicking on a tune in a folder gets the prompt "The document xxxx.mp3 could not be opened. iTunes cannot open files in the MP3 audio format."
Dragging the tune into iTunes will open it, so there's no problem with it being a "trouble file" that needs validating with some external app. I believe this is a new glitch that came with iTunes 10.2.2. It's workable but quite irritating when trying to manage an iTunes library that includes 28,000-plus songs. -
Recover files from the iCloud, recover files from the iCloud
Hello, a couple of weeks ago my macbook pro was stolen, now I have a new one and I am trying to recover my files from the iCloud but I can´t. Can someone please tell me how to do it? Thanks
There's no way that you're going to recover all of your files from iCloud. Depending on what you stored on iCloud, you can log into your account via the web to see what's there (contacts, TextEdit and Pages docs, mail, notes - whatever you had it set up for).
But what's stored on iCloud is limited - it's only 5GB after all. You're just going to be able to get to what you had stored there.

How do I permanently get rid of snapdo from the pref.js file?
The pref.js file in profile directory contains this line:

I have run several malware removers on this. adwCleaner finds and removes the line. But, after restarting Firefox it appears again.
I have directly deleted this line from from pref.js but it reappears as soon as I re-open the file.
I have made the file read-only which stops the file from being written again - for a while. A sequential set of files are then created, about 3 every time I start Firefox, with names like prefs-1.js.
I let this run several days and eventually the prefs.js was change to RW and snapdo was back in!
Something in my system wants to reset this line. IE and Chrome are not affected.
How do I stop snapdo???

If so, remove that pref or just delete the user.js file which isn't a standard part of Firefox. -
Hide files from the "all my files"

i have certain photos and videos which i do not want to be shown in the "all my files" folder, how to do i hide these specific files?
can i make a rule for that folder not to include files which are located in a specific path?Not certain, but try adding the enclosing folder to the Privacy tab of Spotlight.
You can't set a criteria such as, "not in folder X" as that criteria isn't implemented. -
I noticed my hard drive space was getting suspiciously low...
After doing a little digging I realized that every single audio file (even the ones i have deleted segments for in my projects' arrange windows) are being saved in every one of my projects' "Audio Files" folders.
One 4 minute song (comprised of 3 guitars, 1 bass, Midi drums, and a syth) has a cooresponding "Audio Files" folder containing over 1,600 Wav files and is consuming 3.0 + Gigs of hard drive space FROM THAT SONG ALONE!
It seems as if every take i have ever recorded (even If it is no longer represented in my projects's arrange windows) remains saved in these "Audio Files" folders.
Is there a setting/method to ensure what STAYS on my hard drive is only what is being used in the projects? There seems to be no logical reason for keeping every mistake that is otherwise deleted in the overall projects.
there must be... because hand-weeding out every file it too daunting a task to be feasible.....

When you delete a recorded region from the Arrange, Logic gives you an option to 'delete' or 'keep' the underlying audio file. You must've chosen to keep, or you have only been deleting regions which only refer to part of the file, so the whole audio file is still being 'used'.
One method of cleaning up is to go to the Audio Bin, choose Edit:Select Unused, and then Delete.
If you (really) want to tidy up further, you could use the Optimise Files function Audio Bin:Audio Files (but I'd suggest that you read up on that function in the manual to fully understand what it will do).

How can I convert the download.m4a and Info.plist into the right audio file
The topic is actually the problem that I have.
I have bought music and it was downloaded successful (all of it) but iTunes had a strange freeze while converting the files into the right audio file. Some files were converted but after the freeze no more.
I'm now left with these .tmp folders in the downloads folder which have the download.m4a and Info.plist files.
My iTunes is able to play these download.m4a files, but they show no information and covers and this is really annoying. I could write and change it all by myself, but than I would still miss some information (and covers).
Is there any way for me to convert or combine these files?
Note: I'm not able to restart any downloads, because they were successful.Hello ed2345,

It's hard to describe the problem, but I'll try it again, this time with pictures.
I was left with the following folders in the iTunes Downloads folder.

After moving the audio files in iTunes a bit I get this.

I can't seem to remove / unload the external swf files e.g when the carousel.swf (portfolio) is displayed and I press the about button the about content is overlapping the carousel (portfolio) . How can I remove / unload an external swf file from the main flash file and load a new swf file, while at the same time removing garbage collection from memory?

Thank you for the helpful advice. I made the changes as you suggested but I am receiving a #1009 error message even though my site is working the way I wan it to work. I would still like to fix the errors so that my site runs and error free. This is the error I am receiving:
"TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference."
I'm sure this is not the best method to unload loaders and I am guessing this is why I am receiving the following error message.

I have downloaded files on to the hard drive and cannot move them on to an external drive. I have now lost my document folder from the status bar, although I can see it in finder. How do I get my 'document' file back and in place on the status bar. I tried to drag and drop it into the external drive - but failed and lost it to what appears to be space! When I run the VST_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, etc from each project the audio and the video are clean and match.
When I run the edited Premiere Elements file that were created after project 34 edited Premiere Elements file project 35, 36, 37 etc. I am getting the audio from project 34
When I run the edited Premiere Elements file that were created before project 34 edited Premiere Elements file project 1, 2, all the way to 33. I am getting the correct audio

How to read an audio file from the disk and play it?
Do you know who to read an audio file from the hard disk and play it. It's for an application and not an applet. I tried with the Applet.newAudioClip(URL url) thing, but I keep getting a MalformedURLException.
And is there a way to get the path of the file you are using? Currently I'm doing this:

Getting rid of files in the project audio folder
I can delete unused files from the Bin, but doing that does not delete them from the project audio folder. The only way I've found to get rid of the unused files to to save a copy. Is there another way?

I cannot delete a file from the documents folder. I can move it to the trash and then empty it, but when I go back to the documents folder, the file is still there.

I wonder what your computing environment is. Is your account being administrated by another account? Are you working in an account subject to "Parental Controls"?

I'm running Windows XP which is updated to latest version (which I think might be Service Pack 3, but not positive.) Mozilla Firefox is version 5.0. I tend to use Google as my search engine so most of the stuff I download comes through sites found through Google, which is also updated.
At some time in the past (maybe a few versions ago) when I would download a file from the Web, the "Downloads" window would open and in the window would be displayed the name of the file I was downloading or had just completed downloading. I think I used to be able to then click on that file name and the file (or the installation file if needed to start the new program) would open. I am currently using Firefox 5.0 (the "About Firefox" screen says this is up to date) and when I download a file or document, the "Downloads" window appears on the screen as it always has in the past, but it remains blank, i.e., nothing appears in the downloads box. I don't remember making any configuration changes, etc., that may have caused the window to remain blank, but I could be mistaken. I know how to find the items I've downloaded (My Documents / Downloads) and can usually guess what the name of the downloaded file might be, but it used to be much easier when something (anything) showed up in the downloads window.
