Getting a list of email addresses into address book group

I have an email with a list of 91 addresses. I need to send mail to this list quite often. Now I highlight the list, copy it, and paste it into the new email. Is there a way to transfer the addresses from this email directly to an address book group without having to do it one by one.

I have the same problem. I want to make a group from a list, even from a email header list. My address book has close to 1000 entries. I'm looking for an easier way (like in Eudora with Nicknames) where I can copy and paste (or something!). Anything better than making a card for each and then finding them one by one to add to the group.
Did you ever figure it out? Or get an answer elsewhere since there have been no responses here?

My boss just got a new Blackberry and wants to sync her contacts. Unfortunately, she is not very good at making address book entries.
Is there a way to quickly import any email address into Address Book? She doesn't need the everything edited with name, address, etc...since she knows most of these people by their email address more than their first/last names!

They aren't located anywhere. She has all her email messages archived in Mail.app for the last 3 years so she'd like to extract them from there.
Is there some kind of built-in email address list in Mail.app, because it seems to auto complete any email address she types despite it not being in the Apple address book app.

Importing Mac OS 9/Multiple Users/Netscape 4.8 addresses into Address Book

my wife has made the leap from Mac OS 9.2.2 to Mac OS X 10.4.3, and we're trying to figure out how to import her Netscape 4.8 addresses into Address Book. The complicating factor is that her computer ran with Multiple Users under Mac OS 9; as the Classic environment doesn't seem to be able to run as a particular Mac OS 9 "Multiple User", we're unable to run Netscape within the Classic environment as her "Multiple User" to allow the export of her addresses for subsequent importation by Address Book. We did find an existing LDIF file on the hard drive at Users:her user:Preferences:Netscape Users:her e-mail:Contacts Export.ldif that we were able to import, but it didn't seem to contain a complete set of her addresses.
Can you recommend a way to obtain her full set of addresses? Do you know which Netscape file contains the addresses? If need be, that file can be copied, selectively edited, and its addresses can be manually reëntered; but naturally a less time-consuming solution would be preferable. Alternatively, would it be possible to run within the Classic environment as a particular "Multiple User", so that the addresses could be exported within Netscape?

Here’s a summary of what I wound up doing. I downloaded the current version of Netscape for Mac OS X at http://ftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape7/english/7.2/mac/macosx/sea/Netscape-MachO. dmg.gz and used it to import the addresses from the Users:her user:Preferences:Netscape Users:her e-mail:pab.na2 file. (It turns out that the pab.na2 file has the latest address book data.) This was done by cancelling the New Account Setup, then choosing Tools/Import …/Address Books/Communicator 4.x. I then exported the just-imported data by going to Netscape 7.2’s Address Book window, selecting the “nab” address book, and choosing Tools/Export … in LDIF format, followed shortly by importing the newly created LDIF file into Address Book. Unfortunately the groups didn’t survive the exodus, and had to be manually reässembled within Address Book. There also seemed to be minor data loss in Notes fields — namely, all Notes text following a colon went missing. However, that was readily worked around by restoring via copy/paste from Netscape 7.2 to Address Book. Given these caveats, the Netscape 4.8 address book data have now been reconstituted as Address Book data. I hope that this summary might prove useful to anyone else who might be facing a similar task, and would appreciate it if anyone who finds an easier way to do this would post their findings.

If renaming addressbook.data.previous to addressbook.data hasn't brought back your contacts, get rid of addressbook.data (drag it way or delete it) and rename addressbook.data.beforesave to addressbook.data
The rename process works for some people and not for others; I suspect it has to do with how soon after the problem they have tried it.

I don't know of any way of recovering anything from the skindexinverted file, and anyway I suspect it is litterally an index, and does not hold the full data. Certainly on my machine it is only 1/20th of the size of the data file.

Can't import any addresses into Address Book to save my life

If my life were on the line, and its not, but if it were, and someone said the only way I could live would be to import addresses from a text file and into Address Book, I would be dead. Totally dead.
What I need to do is import my contacts from an old PC-based Palm Desktop software into MAC Address book. I have tried exporting both tab and comma delimited files on the PC and importing into the mac. No dice.
Next, I downloaded the Mac version of palm desktop and imported the text file into MAC-palm desktop. That worked, a little messy, but it worked. From there, I tried to export a tab-delimited file from MAC Palm Desktop and into MAC Address Book - DENIED!
Finally, I exported a VCF file from the MAC Palm Desktop to Import into MAC Address Book. That worked, BUT, every field has double quotes around it like "THIS". Not satisfactory.
Can anyone suggest anything?

Clicking assign in Notification tab get empty list of Email Name

Second - Request Related

Just check the value of User Language and User Region attributes in System Confirguration through design console.
Verify both the values are same like en and us.

Why can I not drag-and-drop email addresses into Address Book?

I've used today the email client and the email address autocompletion feature figured out nicely the email addresses of the recipients I wanted to send the email to. So far so good. However, when I've selected all addresses in the To line, I would have liked to be able to drag-and-drop them into the Address Book application, automatically have new entries created there and why not a new group too?

No, that is not possible. However, [Mail Scripts|http://homepage.mac.com/aamann/Mail_Scripts.html] has a script to add every address to the address book, allowing you to pick which ones go to which group and to add a new group, if you want.

I have a lsit of some 1,600 email addresses I'd like to otganise in Address Book in order to send the same email to multiple members in a group. My question is, can I import all these email addresses from Excel, or will I have to copy and paste them one by one?

Pasting Addresses into Address Book

Does anybody know a slick way to paste addresses in to the Address Book that does require each part individually? In other words, first pasting "1234 Main St." into the first line, then "Nome" in the City, etc.
Is there a trick, or perhaps a plugin, that let's Address Book parse the address for me?

True, and that works great... except it only seems to work in Mail.

Obviously, one work around would be to just email the address to myself, and actually, that isn't a bad solution. That is a lot less cutting and pasting then is required to manually divide up the information.
Anything more elegant out there?

How to get photos from an email message into iPhoto?

Not sure if this is for the iPhoto forum or the Mail forum, but here we go:
I'm trying to figure out how to get photos I've received by email (through Mail) into iPhoto. I seem to remember seeing Jobs demonstrate it onstage a year or two ago but I can't remember what he did. I recall it was a simple one or two step process.
Any help?

on an e-mail with photos attached go to the Save button next to the attachments list, point to the triangle to the right of Save inside the button and hold the left mouse button down - a menu will appear with save all at the top entry, a list of photos below that and "add to iPhoto" as the bottom entry - move your pointer down to the "add to iPhoto" and release and your photo will be a new event in iPhoto

How can I get a list of emails in my inbox listed by sender and how many emails are in the box from each one, in a concise list.

I need a List:
Name of sender and how many emails from that sender:
ex:
Wife - 50
Boss - 75
ESPN - 200
It would best to get them in a excel sheet so I can print, review and then make decisions to delete entire names that I know longer communicate with.

How do I get videos in an email transferred into my photos?

I have a few videos in my email that were sent from an iPad --how do I get them to move to the photos section on my iPad? I thought they would automatically be in there.

File > Add folder to library will do it. Press ALT or CTRL+B if you don't see the menu bar. Default options in iTunes are to copy files to the media folder when adding to the library. Check under Edit > Preferences > Advanced if you're not sure of the current setting.

Importing into a list with user names into People or group

Hello,
I am creating a SharePoint 2010 site for a Windows 7 upgrade team.
We have several external (to SharePoint) lists that need to be available to the SharePoint site.
List #1 is a list of users, and comes from the company HR system. It has NT login names, email addresses and locality information. (approx. 17500 entries)
List #2 is a list of applications (approx. 1200) and associated users
List #3 is a list of workstations (approx. 20,000) and has basic user details
All three lists will change on a monthly basis as people come and go from the business and we are unable to link directly to each target system.
I am keen to create a self service portal where the Current Logged in User using equals [me] has their own dashboard page and the lists are shown with their own information and any workstations they have.
When I import the list from Excel, all columns are single line or number etc, and I don't see a ready way to map to a column type people of group. This means the filter [me] cannot be used.
Is there any way the current logged in user [me] can filter against information in a list that has been imported ?

I may have found a solution to this:
If I use XL to add the domain\ to the username in the Excel sheet prior to import, then use the Current User filter web part, it seems to do the job.
This is a test on a 100 item list, Ill import the rest and see how efficient it is, and perhaps index the NT Username column ?
