Getting airplay to talk to my NAS, any suggestions?

have just bought synology NAS and whilst its installed, I cannot seem to get airplay to find it.  my husband has spent most of the day watching video tutorials, but neither he, nor I can get anywhere.  does anyone have any suggestions
thanks

AirPlay doesn't support NAS drives as stated earlier. However, I have a WD LiveBook and in combination with the WD cloud app I can AirPlay movies and such from the NAS by using the App and ipad/iphone to the AppleTV. It just works great.
