Getting an error message when trying to activate HTC Thunderbolt
When I dial *22898 I get a Message that says
!Phone Activation
A Verizon Wireless SIM card has
activated your service and updated
your phone's roaming capabilities
Can anyone please tell me what this means?
Hello kimme00171! I can help you decipher the message you received while attempting to activate the Thunderbolt. Because you are using a 4G device, it's no longer necessary to call *228 to activate your phone. The activation can be completed by following the steps below:
1. Sign in to My Verizon.
2. Locate the I Want To… section.
3. Under the DEVICE column, select Activate or Switch a Device. The devices active on the account display.
Select a device.
4. Click Next. The Backup Contacts page displays.
5. If Backup Assistant is installed already, click the Back Up Phone Now button.
6. If eligible for Backup Assistant, click the Install Backup Assistant button and follow steps to install from device.
7. If NOT eligible for Backup Assistant, click the appropriate Operating System link and follow steps
8. Select Next. The Activate or Switch Device page displays.
9. Type the IMEI in the Enter Device ID field.
10. Select Submit. The Activate Phone page displays.
11. Select Continue to SIM Cards. The SIM Card Required page displays.
12. Do one of the following:
Select Send me a SIM Card (Free SIM Card is mailed to the customer).
Type the number in the Enter SIM ID Code field If you already have a new or existing Verizon Wireless-certified SIM Card.
13. Select Continue. The Select a Plan page displays.
14. Choose the desired plan.
15. Click Select. The Select Features & Services page displays
16. Click to make any desired changes.
17. Select Select Features & Services. The Your Packages page displays.
18. Select Submit Changes.
19. The Activate Device confirmation page displays instructions for completing the activation process.
I know I provided you with a lot of steps, but once you get started you will breeze right through. Have a great day.

I get an error message when trying to sign into the support community with another Apple id. On the <pick a username> screen I get "an account utilizing this address already exists.Only one account per email address is allowed on the Apple Support Communities" despite trying a few usernames. Anyone know how I can resolve this?
This problem has been driving me demented. The instructions that Ivan gives have partially worked for me. By following his link
"How to find out if you have multiple Apple IDs" I was able to identify that yes I did have two apple accounts using the same e mail address. One was very old that I used to use for the forum boards and one is my much more recent ID that I use for everything these days. So I changed the e mail address for the old account which is associated with these discussion boards and that's the account that I am now posting this from. However even though the two accounts now have different e mail addresses when I try to log onto the boards with my more recent main apple ID I still get all the same errors as described at the start of this thread by rodgers_j. And of course that's the one I want to use so that I only have one itunes account for everything.
So if anyone has any more hints I'd be very grateful. -

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.) -

In the last few days when I start my computer, I get a box that opens with "AppleSyncNotifier.exe" Entry Point Not Found in the title.
It says: "The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQlite3.dll.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes and still get an error message when trying to sync my phone with iTunes
"iTunes could not back up iPhone ####, because a session could not be started with the iPhone."
The last time I tried to sync my phone (iPhone 3G S) with iTunes, everything seemed to freeze up at Stage 4 of the sync process.
Any advice????With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the SQLite3.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Reboot and see if all is well
In case that your OS is Windows 7 (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "SQLite3.dll"
3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Paste file "SQLite3.dll" to the location.
5. Reboot your computer, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

Kind of hard to answer without some details such as iPhoto version and OS version. Are you signed into your Facebook account?

You are getting an error message because there is an error.
Knowing wht version of Pages you are using, what template you are attempting to open, and what error message Pages is sending you might help determine why you are getting that specific rror message. Without those, the first sentence above i pretty much all that can be said with any assurance.

I keep getting an error message when trying to download itunes. It says it can't find "msvcr80.dll, but when I search for it on my computer it is there. My itunes was working just fine before I got the message to download the latest upgrade. I've not had any problems doing that before now, so don't really know what to do.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

Why do I get "generic error" message when trying to upload a self-created, 1hr .wmv file?
I went through the forums and made sure that any blocks or copywrites weren't triggered by the file, it's clean and can be opened using a media player and other video editing software like windows MovieMaker. I keep getting "The importer reported a generic error" message and have no idea how to proceed. Can someone please help?

This ARTICLE starts with a checklist on setting up a computer to run PrE best, then goes into a series of links for tuning up one's computer and OS, and then links on troubleshooting.
There is also a link on posting all necessary info, to help others help you.
Without knowing much more about your system, it is impossible to say much beyond that WMV's are tough assests to work with, requiring a lot of CPU horsepower.

Follow Sonicray's advice and when you post try to give as much info about your Mac, your OS, etc... Fill out your Profile info.
