hi staff of microsoft or anybody,
I have problem installation of VS pro in my laptop windows 8.1 (64bits) using web installer and offline unzipping iso. BTW i have VS 2013 installed in my computer at the moment. Before i
upgrade from windows 8.0 to 8.1 , i used to have VS PRO 2010 but after installing VS 2013 it was uninstall automatically,
I keep getting this popup of error: DDSet_Error: Internal error: 1009 ( while installing Visual Studio 2010 Professional ) . Could somebody tell me what is the solution because i need VS 2010 for my project. thanks in advance for anybody who could
provide me the solution , thanks a lotHello SuperWeb,
I have checked you logs and find something which may related to this issue:
1. WIN64DUALFOLDERS: Substitution in 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\Microsoft.VisualStudio.vspGridControl.dll' folder had been blocked by the 1 mask argument (the folder pair's iSwapAttrib member = 0).
2. Assembly Install: Failing with hr=80070005 at RemoveDirectoryAndChildren, line 396
The folder substitution is blocked and the RemoveDirectoryAndChildren meet access denied in your setup. May I ask a few questions:
1. Do you have admin privilege and have you run your setup with admin
2. Do you have any ant-virus software installed on your OS which may blocked Visual Studio from installing?
I will recommend u refer to this blog:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2006/09/04/solving-setup-errors-by-using-the-subinacl-tool-to-repair-file-and-registry-permissions.aspx
You can then run a script to give all your folders and registries admin permissions. Let's see if you can install your setup after that.
By the way, the checksum can be checked by using this tool from Microsoft:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841290
However since I cannot download ISO from DreamSpark as I'm not a student, I cannot help you verify it. Please contact your vendor to know the exact ISO hash number. A good ISO is required before you start the install process.
Best regards,
Barry

"Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Professional Stopped Working" When I'm Trying To Install
So for a college class we were given a link to a visual studio exe file. Visual Studio 2013 Professional Update 2.
When I try to run the exe file it just gives a black rectangle for a few seconds with the visual studio logo on it then stops and gives the message I showed in the thread title. and it also says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I have the 4.5.2 update.
Can't figure out why I can't install it.
Heres a link to the vslog:
https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=E43E7310F1682778%21113
Hopefully someone can solve this.Hi,
I see your logs and find the main errors:
Error 0x80070642: Failed to install MSI package.
Error 0x80070642: Failed to execute MSI package.
Error 0x80070642: Failed to configure per-machine MSI package.

Error 0x80070103: Failed to find product code for given upgrade code.
According these errors, It seems the issue was due to you are using a web installer and your installation source may be corrupted.
You can download the latest Visual Studio Professional 2013 package now:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44916
I recommend you can install the VS by ISO installer.
•Choose this download link, and then choose the Save button.
•After downloading the ISO file, you should use the
File Checksum Integrity Verifier tool to calculate and verify that the SHA-1 value for this file matches the value listed on the
Visual Studio 2013 ISO Files SHA-1 Values page.
And after down load you should follow up these
Installation Tips in the link to install your VS.
Best Wishes!

I get an error while installing Ovi suite.
I can't install the Ovi suite. I'm trying to update my firmware and get the free maps to my phone. I've loaded the newest version, but I get an error.

I'm running on Win7 64-bit.

The installer is trying to install Microsoft's Visual Studio 2005 runtimes to your machine when the error appears.

Many other programs install the same component and if you try to google this issue you will find quite many people strugling with the same issue even though they would be trying to install something totally different application. Unfortunately, there is no single solution that would fix this issue. Anyway there are some ways to figure out what is causing the error.
First step is to try to find the actual hresult error code. It should be something like -2343434.
Download the package from the link above and try to install that. You should get the same error message. Then type %temp% to you address bar and press enter. Sort the files by date. There should be very recent log file. Try to look for this hresult code or some other hint from the log file. Attach it also here.
You can get more information and solve tips from these links:
http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/797226.htm
error 1935 troubleshooting guide: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2004/11/10/255346.aspx
There are also several different direct solve solutions which may or may not work in your case. I'll list couple of them here with references:
1)
Please go to %windir%\WinSxS and rename each *vc80* file to a different name. Then re-run setup.
http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/121817/error-1935-an-error-occurred-durin...
I would definately go back to WinSxS and rename those *vc80* folders back that didn't appear after re-running setup.
2)
Ckeck if the "Windows Modules Installer" service is started. If not, try to start it from the services console. If you receive an error "1450 Insufficient System resources" error, then follow this steps:
1) Open regedit and replace the following value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control
Key: RegistrySizeLimit
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0xFFFFFF (4294967295)
2) Reboot
3) Open a command prompt as administrator and run SFC /SCANNOW to check the integrity of system modules.
4) Install pending windows updates
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7programs/thread/1099136a-03df-4da4-966c-5a4e56b8f...
ps. I've also seen comments that you should repair .net 2.x. -

Hi All,
When i try to manually (no internet connection on the server) install SharePoint 2013 Prerequisites on Windows Server 2012 I get the below error
I have installed .Net Framework 3.5, 4.0 and Windows Identity Foundation using Add server roles or features from the server manager.
From Software & Hardware requirements for SharePoint 2013 give
Prerequisites for SharePoint 2013 I can see that the identity extensions are available only of Windows Server 2008 R2 and not for windows server 2012. Can you please provide the link for windows server 2012?
I have installed all the prerequisites required except Microsoft Identity Extensions.

Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties.I fixed it by installing Microsoft Identity extensions from command line, please find command line below.
C:\Windows\System32>msiexec.exe /i "C:\SharePoint2013ServerFiles\prerequisiteinstallerfiles\MicrosoftIdentityExtensions-64.msi" /quiet /norestart
Note: In the above command C:\SharePoint2013ServerFiles\prerequisiteinsTallerfiles is the path where I had downloaded all the prerequisites for SP2013
This will install Microsoft Identity Extensions and creates registry entries, which will help the SharePoint 2013 Prerequisite installer to complete the setup

Hi
I thought I'd make my first post a hijack of a vaguely related thread,
then some kind moderator could separate it out and branch it off to a post of its own.
I'm not even sure this is in the proper forum.

Please help.> I face this problem while installing SOLMAN 7.0 EHP1 for MAXDB on Windows 2003 . DO you have any idea what happens with my installation?*
I HIGHLY recommend not using a 32bit operating system for Solution Manager, you will run into lots of problems and issues concerning memory usage and limitations of the 32bit platform.> 08.06.11 10:21:42 com.sap.inst.jload.Jload logStackTrace
> SEVERE: com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.exceptions.DatabaseException: [-907]: Space for user session exhausted
It seems that the maximum memory on 32bit is reached already. Decrase the CACHESIZE of the database, restart the database and press "retry" in sapinst.
This will not be the only problem you will get, use a 64bit server and at least 8 GB memory for Solution Manager.

So please tell anyone could Figure out what is this file all about??
Is this says to be worry about it .. or just provide information of current system status??
I will be obliged to you if you would help me
Thank you. This is exactly due to the memory stack. This error is entirely due to the native code.Check the native code,if there are data conversions handle them carefully
and if you are passing an array see to that the array doesnt oveflow.
Have some prints in the native code and watch the data transferred -

Need some help-getting an error while installing
Hi all..
I am having a problem while installing Java applications via GPRS. The application's working fine when i download it from a remote site and install it on the emulator. But when i try downloading and installing it via GPRS on to a java enabled phone it gives me en error "Invalid Application". And on another phone tells me "Downloaded jar file are invalid"
Please give me your suggestions on how to solve this error.Sound like a corrupted jad-file. Check if MIDP and CLDC version are set correctly and also take care that the jar-file does not exceed the filesize limitation of your phone.

Error while installing MS Project Server 2013(trial) on Sharepoint 2013(CAL)
My problem is that I get the following error:
trial editions and licensed editions of SharePoint, Project Server, and Office Web Apps products may not be installed on the same server
when I try to install MS Project Server 2013(180 days-evaluation) over a Sharepoint 2013(MAPS license).
What does exactly this error say?
Do I need to have Sharepoint and MS Project Server with same type of license?
If so, I suppose I'll have to remove Sharepoint(MAPS) and install a 180 days-evaluation Sharepoint. Will this re-installation be acceptable or I'll get some license type incompatibility issues?Hello. You are correct, you will need to have the same license types either both trials or both licensed. Uninstalling/ reinstalling with trials should work fine or build another trial farm. Paul
