Getting an html file on to the body of an email on macmail

I have been using my old computer, which has OSX10.4.11 and this has been working fine. with the new imac,10.5.5 it does not work at all. very frustrating.
1. save the file to desktop, which is a photo which contains html
2. open the file which opens in a browser window. the address in the browser window is this
file:///Users/assistant/Desktop/kilby_ecard.html
3. take mouse to image, drag image on to body of email, the image is shown in the email, then I send email
4. when recipient gets it, it looks the same, and clicking it takes recipient to proper URL
as I say above, this is fine with my old mac. with the new one, a file when safari is open "acts" as if it is working but only the jpeg gets on the emaill and not the html code. with firefox open, the image refuses to be put into the email body. it goes as far as creating a green plus sign, but then jumps back to the browser window when you let go of the mouse.
please help. thanks.

I do not want to build a newsletter but it is the same idea. the html file is already built and I want to drop it into emails to specific people. and it not necessary to use mail stationary in 10.4.11. is a simple process. what is wrong with this version of macmail

  • Send text file content as the body of an email using Send-MailMessage

I am taking the last 8 lines of a bunch of robocopy logs and bunching them together.
    Get-ChildItem -Filter *.log | ForEach {
    $a += Get-Content $_.Name | Select -Last 8
    $a += Write-output ' '`r
    $a += Write-Output '------------------------------------------------------------------------------'`r
I then wanted to use this as the body of an email (send-mailmessage).  It all works but the formatting is lost in the email. I've tried using Out-String and ConvertTo-HTML with little luck.
If I look at $a in the above it looks fine in the PowerShell console it's just lost when it reaches my inbox.
I am using v2 of PowerShell and sadly can't upgrade it.

The issue isn't that part. It's the content of the log files that loses its formatting.
    $a += Get-Content $_.Name | Select -Last 8

  • How can I embed a pdf file into the body of an email?

How can I embed a pdf file into the body of an email?

The problem is defining what it even means to “embed” a PDF file in the body of an e-mail, especially if you are dealing with a multiple page PDF file.
E-mail is either pure text, rich text (something akin to RTF in Word), or HTML. PDF is not compatible with any of these. Thus, to embed a PDF file, something has to be converted and that means the PDF would be converted to a less graphically rich raster format. But is that what you would really want?
I think that the MacOS and iOS e-mail clients do under some circumstances place an attached PDF file within HTML segments and by clicking on same, you get the equivalent of extracting the full PDF file, but I have no real experience with that.
Another alternative is HTML with a proxy image with a hyperlink to an external PDF file that is invoked when you click on the hyperlink.
Perhaps you can explain what you are really trying to accomplish and what the recipient of such an e-mail's actual experience would be?

  • Getting an HTML file to device

I am very new to Blackberry development and would appreciate some direction, either in answers or documentation to read.  Here is my dilemma.
In Visual Studio 2008, I have created an HTML page using JavaScript that does stuff like dynamic table builds.  I have installed the blackberry development addin.
I want to get this HTML file onto my blackberry device(8730), preferably in the applications folder.  This is a for personal use so I do not want to load it onto my corporate BES server.
I have the application loader software, but it looks to install applications not single web pages.  I have attached my blackberry device via a USB port but do not see the device in the windows explorer list of drives.  I have emailed it to myself and could not find a way to save it locally.
I have been unsuccessful in the searching I have done to date.    Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

what you want to do is not install an HTML page.
you want to put the HTML page either on the web, or somewhere on your device.

You need to use the computer's install disks to repair the hard drive or install a new OS.

  • Simple question .... how to add photos to the body of my EMAILS -Found 1000 results for How do I add photos to my emails for Thunderbird

Simple question - How do I add photos to the body of my emails . But instead of the answer - Found 1000 results for How do I add photos to my emails for Thunderbird. There are answers that don't apply at all to the question in anyway. Why does it have to be so hard to get a simple answer to a simple question?
Thunderbird is acting much like Microsoft, the every reason I dumping MS Live Mail.

First of all, much help for Thunderbird refers to menus which may not be visible. It would help you and us if you have your menus and toolbars visible.
    http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.uk/13_Menus_in_Thunderbird.html
So, open a write window. Enable its menu and toolbar(s).
Now do you see an "Insert" option?
If not, you may be set to compose in plain text, which does not support embedded images.
'''[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences_in_Windows,_Linux,_and_Mac Tools|Account Settings]|{select account}|Composition & Addressing''' and ensure "Compose messages in HTML format" is ticked. If it wasn't already ticked, go back to composing a message. Any better now?
Once you have HTML composition mode going, you can use '''Insert|Image''' or various permutations of copy-and-paste and drag-and-drop into your message body.

  • Copying a complete Address Book entry into the body of an email?

Is there a neat way (other than Copy/Paste one chunk at a time!!) to get a complete Address Book entry complete into the body of an email in plain text (NOT as a V-Card), if I want to send to someone who doesn't use an Address Book on their computer ?

The only way to do what you are asking about is to create an html email. This is possible and assuming you are using Leopard, you can use Mail to do this. Start a new email and select the Stationary button that by default is on the right corner of the new email message window.
Pages cannot be used to create html code and the only way to use Pages to create your newsletter would be to create a PDF and attach it. The other possible option would be to send your email with a link to a webpage. You could experiment with using the Share to iWeb function and see if this could work for you. (Since I swore off - not to mention at - iWeb some time ago I don't know how well this would work.)

  • How can I have a newsletter I created in PDF appear in the body of an email I send, rather than attach it.

How can I get a newsletter created in PDF format to appear in the body of an email I send, rather than attach it.

You cannot. (A few email programs might show it automatically; you cannot stop that either).

  • How do I paste a photo ( jpeg) into the body of my email message- I can do it in Internet Explorer bu can't in Firefox

I can open up a photo from my "Pictures" file In Internet Explorer, copy it, then paste it into the body of my email message ( I use Earthlink webmail). I see the picture fine.
When I try to do the same procedure by opening, copy and pasting in Firefox, a box appears with a photo icon, but no photo. Even when I press "view image" it will not show the picture.
    What am I missing?

There's a utility available that solves this problem in gmail. It allows you to drag and drop any image on your system clipboard directly into Gmail. Check it out: picturepaste.com

  • Why do the attachments I'm trying to send open in the body of my email rather than as an attachment icon?

I'm having trouble with attachments. When I select a document to attach, in either Word (doc) or pdf, sometimes the whole file opens in the body of the document, instead of just appearing as an attachment icon.  I can't figure out why this only happens sometimes...seems to happen more with documents I've scanned in and saved as either Word or PDF files - what might I be doing wrong?

There is nothing wrong. I never understood why Apple Mail shows attachments randomly as icon or inline documents or a mix of them.
If you ctrl+click the PDF or Word document you should be able to choose from the menu, show as icon.
If you want to permanently show the attachments as icons, close Apple Mail, open Terminal and issue the following command
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes

  • Send an Actrobat Pro form in the body of an email?

Is it possible to send a Acrobat form in the body of an email? I would like the receiver to be able to reply with the completed form in the body of the email. It’s important that we get the completed form back as a message body and not an attachment.
    Thanks, Brian

Yes, it is, but it requires using a script. Basically you would collect the form data into a script and then you can use the mailMsg() method to send an email.
However, if the users are using Reader then you can't use that method and will have to submit the entire PDF as an attachment to the message, using the mailDoc() command, as well as populating the form data into the email body.
The only other option is to use a "mailto:"-URL, but that has a character limitation so you can't send much data.

Sounds like the Word file may have right justification. You can turn that off within Word.
You can also save the file as a pdf using these instructions:
