Getting AOL mail to iCloud?

My mother has had problems viewing AOL mail on her iPhone. Is it possible to automatically forward all her AOL messages to her new iCloud account? She wants to keep the AOL email as she has had it for years. She uses a windows 7 laptop and desktop.
I can accomplish this by getting gmail to fetch her AOL mail and then forward it to the me.com email address, but this seems like an extra step.

Your iPad cannot have 25 GB available, it could have 28 GB, are you sure you are not referring to your iCloud storage space.

I have seen all the early responses to how to fix AOL mail issues on Iphones, however no mater how many smpt servers I set up or on .... I can not get AOL mail to send from my Iphone 5, running IOS 6. I have an Iphone 4 running IOS6 and it works fine...

I can not get the Iphone 5 to send out aol mail. I have added the extra smtp server as suggested and it still will not send mail.

I am having the same problem. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I called apple restored my phone to its original and it did not work :-( Now it seems like it worked for a bit than stopped again. Now I have to contact Apple again to set up an appointment at an Apple store because it may be an issue with my phone. I have only had it for a week and half!

These are the settings, for configuring Apple Mail with AOL mail.
-Account Type: IMAP
-Incoming Mail Server: imap.aol.com
-Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.aol.com:Your AOL Screenname Here
-Server Port: 587
You can also use the utility AOL® Service Assistant, which can be downloaded from this website AOL Macintosh Downloads.

Crashing Mail app and problems getting AOL mail

I've been struggling with 2 problems for a while now. First, MAIL just unexpectedly crashes and this is usually not while I'm actively using it. I'll come back to my MAC and see that mail has crashed and have to restart it.
Secondly, and more importantly, I seem to be receiving mail in my inbox inconsistently from my AOL email address. I have new AOL mail in my inbox but if I take my accounts offline and then immediately back online, and then search for new mail, I find a bunch of AOL mail that wasn't in my inbox before. Some of this can be from previous days. Older mail not just new mail that hasn't been received yet. Also, occasionally I will read an AOL message, will NOT delete it, and it will disappear from my inbox. If I follow the procedure above, the mail will sometimes reappear in my inbox as previously read mail.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Step 1
Enter the name of the crashed process in the Filter text field. Post the messages from the time of the last crash, if any – the text, please, not a screenshot.
Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent one and post the contents – again, not a screenshot. For privacy’s sake, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)

When I attempt to get AOL mail, I get message"Error 8 Problem loading application"

Firefox opens with the AOL site. When I click the mail icon, I get the above message.

The AOL recommendation with that error is to delete the AOL cookies and clear the cache. For details of how to do that see [[Deleting cookies]] and [[How to clear the cache]].

I am getting double mail on iCloud.

I'm getting both the mobileme (.mac) account and iCloud account. This is only happening on my iPad. My iPhone gets just the iCloud Mail. I only have the iCloud account identified on both devices. How do I get rid of the double mail from the .mac account on my iPad?

iCloud doesn't store email for other accounts.
Yahoo is an IMAP-type account, meaning that all mail is stored on the server, and when you sync a desktop mail client, it downloads a copy of all mail. That's normal. You can stop it keeping local copies of the mail if you like, but that means that you have to be online to see any past messages. Mail - Preferences - Advanced - under "Keep copies of messages for offline viewing", select "Don't keep copies of any messages".
Hotmail is not IMAP-enabled, but it's possible you just haven't ever deleted mail from the server when you've retrieved it through POP.
I don't know why you're seeing duplicates. Do you have any accounts forwarding to other accounts?

I can't get AOl mail to send on my iMac or Mac Pro.

I have 2 email accounts set up on all of my devices but the AOL account will not send on my Macpro or Mac PC. it is fine on Ipad and Iphone.

Cannot get aol mail

I am getting
"Cannot Get Mail
The user name or password for [email protected] is incorrect"
It has been working fine for months!
Any ideas?

Can't get my mail from icloud

All of my inbox is gone on Mac, and loging in remotely. Was my account hacked? Or do I need to reload something?

I lost the capacity to get my mail from iCloud. I was ok and all the sudden it stop working. What can i do? Thanks.

All of the sudden I can not receide or send email from my MacBook Pro or my iPhone. Also, I am unable to connect to iCloud using my sing on.

AOL Mail will not get new mail???

Hello Everyone,
I am setting up an AOL account on my mothers new Imac. I am trying to get AOL mail into Apple mail.
Unfortunately, I cannot get it to get any new messages. I also get the following alert in apple mail:
The following alerts are from the IMAP server for “<screenename>”:
Can't read attachment for message 21795
(sometimes the number of the attachment will change...)
I used the AOL service assistant to set up the AOL mail account. I have deleted and re-added the account. I am at a loss. I found this question asked in the archives several times, but the answers all said to use the service assistant, which I have done, and it doesnt solve the problem. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I am experiencing the exact issue with my AOL account. The error randomly states "it can not open attachment on message XXX". I'm using Safari with AOL mail on a MacBook Pro with MacOSX 10.6.7. Did you ever get a response or solution to your problem? Appreciate any insight. Thanks!
