Getting apps from my two Macs onto my iPod touch.

I have the bulk of my iTunes music and apps on my iMac. This is where I sync my new iPod Touch. However, I was looking through apps on my PowerBook G4 and found one I liked so I downloaded it on my laptop (for convenience). Can I get the app without giving up everything already on my iPod (synced with the iMac). I don't put music or other apps on the laptop because of it's smaller disc capacity. Did I just waste money on an app I can't use now?

"Can I get the app without giving up everything already on my iPod (synced with the iMac)"
NO. You can sync to ONE computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the content from the ipod.
Just re-download the app to your imac.

Syncing photos with iTunes is explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
You'll have to choose the photos you want to sync in the photo pane in iTunes with your phone connected, then apply sync.

Have you synced apps from that computer to your iPod before? Have you tried downloading the app directly to your iPod?

  • Can I download games from my Amazon Cloud onto an ipod touch to play?

I'm looking at purchasing an Ipod Touch but am curious if I can download my games from the Amazon Cloud as I'm currently a Kindle user and would rather not have to repurchase all of the games that I have.  Is this possible?

No. The Kindle is an Android device, and the iPod Touch cannot run Android apps.

  • Two Macs and One iPod Touch?

What is the best way to use an iPod Touch with 2 Macs?
I mean in terms of keeping the contacts, iTunes library, and iFoto library etc sync'ed between 2 Macs? I don't want to use MobileMe because of the size of the libraries and being able to work offline.
I am considering buying a MacBook Pro for traveling. But at home I use my MacPro.
    Thanks much for your help.

Personally, I have my iTunes and iPhoto on an external hard drive that I can plug into whatever computer I'm using at the time.
Or you can search this forum and/or iTunes help for "two computers, one Touch," "using the Touch with two computers," or something along those lines, and you should find some information. I can't remember, but I think I found info in iTunes help.

  • Is there a way to get an imovie project from your macbook pro onto your ipod touch?

I want to put a movie i made on my camera roll or get it onto my itouch. Is there a way to do that without spending alot of money.

Thanks for a cognative answer TXMark.
For what its worth to any readers that work in education and would like this play once and stop 'feature'
I had great success in homeshareing a iTunes library of teaching material and creating topic specific playlist and used apple remote app to control an appletv connected to that homeshared library. As TXMark suggests, uncheck the songs in iTunes and the media will not automatically play the tracks in sequence.
note: if you have video media that you would like to have in the playlist, be sure its listed as a music video in the options of get info of track. otherwise the apple tv will not see the media in the playlist and will put it in the movies section of the library.

  • How do I get music videos, tv shows, and movies from my iTunes onto my iPod touch?

I just bought the 32 G iPod touch bc I read online that the 8G holds 2000 songs plus other stuff and the 32G holds 8000 songs plus more. I have 3000 songs on my iTunes and for some reason it said it won't hold more than 2600. Also I can't figure out to put the music videos, tv shows, and movies from my iTunes synced onto my iPod touch. Help?

The advertised number of songs an iPod can hold is based on set factors such as the encoding for each song and the length for each song.
Transferring movies is selected under the Movies tab for your iPod sync preferences with iTunes.
Transferring TV Shows is selected under the TV Shows tab for your iPod sync preferences with iTunes.
Include Music Videos is selected under the Music tab for your iPod sync preferences with iTunes.

Are you sure of that?  Check in the Library.  Click on the Apps icon to see all apps.  Similarly click on the Music icon to see the songs.

  • How do I get GarageBand files from an older mac onto my iPad 2?

How do I get GarageBand files from an older mac onto my iPad 2? I can open the GarageBand Documents folder through iTunes while the iPad is sync'd but I can't seem to "add..." any of my old .band folders to the iPad to be able to view those music projects. When I tried I could only sync individual data files contained in the .band folders over to the iPad and there was no way to organize them into .band project folders. What can I do here to get these GarageBand projects onto my iPad for further use?

This is not currently possible. You can transfer an iPad project to the Mac, and transfer songs/loops from the Mac to iPad, but not GB files from Mac to iPad.

  • How do I transfer purchased apps back from my compuer onto my IPAD?  I have transferred my purchased apps to my computer, then updated my IPAD operating system, which erased my IPAD.  I can't get my purchased apps from my computer back onto IPAD.

I have transferred my purchased apps to my computer, then updated my IPAD operating system as directed.  This erased all my apps from my IPAD.  How do I get my apps from my computer back onto the IPAD.  Simple syncing does not seem to work.  I also have another IPAD synced with this computer, if that matters.

    Check the settings in iTunes.

I want to install Photoshop/bridge on a new Mac.  Can I transfer these apps from my old mac? Or can I get an update installed on my new Mac?

Do not transfer.  Install using installation files.  If you need to you can download most older applications thru the following page...

I'm having a similar problem...but mine results from an OS upgrade from 10.6.4 to 10.8.5.
Where did you access a clean copy of Java SE 6?  The link at adobe for archicval plug-ins is a dead download (and it doesn't appear to contain Java SE 6.).
