Getting Audio across slides

I have had a great guy doing my breeze (Adobe Presenter)
presentations so I haven't had that much hands on experience. He
left the company and now I am up a creek.
I have a presentation and an audio file (50 min) that is
suposed to cover all the slides. I can't seem to get it to import
the audio for the whole presentation. What happens is that the
audio file gets associated with one slide and not the whole set.
Can someone tell me what I am doign wrong?
Thanks from the Newbie.
Tim

Solution : You can import that audio on slide 1 or to that
slide from where you want audio to start playing and then open
audio editor and move the slide markers so that audio gets
associated with different slides e.g lets say you have an audio of
2 minutes and you want to hear first half of that audio when slide
1 is playing and remaining half when slide 2 plays then you can
import that audio on slide 1 and open Audio Editor and move slide 2
marker at appropriate position on the audio waveform shown
there

  • Import audio across slides

Hi, I'm using Captivate 6 on NT. I need to import audio across mutiple slides, but I don't get the Split prompt. I went into Preferences and reset the Confirmation Message to prompt me for Split Audio, but I still don't get prompted. I turned on prompts for all types of other things, but not Split audio. I am importing 30 minutes of audio to a 3-second slide, so it should prompt me. I Searched for the Preferences folder so I could rename or delete it, but I can't find it.
    Thanks, Guy

Never mind, I got it! The prompt doesn't show up until AFTER it has imported the audio. With 30 minutes of audio, that's quite a lot of time! So I got the prompt and I'm good!
    Thanks!

  • Need help normalizing audio across slides in capt.8

I have a 100-slide project - that I recorded audio for over a few weeks (so some slides have louder audio than others). I'd like the volume to be the same. I've tried editing the "project" audio, selecting the entire wave form (ctrl A), then clicking on Adjust Audio, then normalize, then save, then close. Doesn't work. Any ideas as to why? thank you.

Thank you for your honest answer. I spent so much time trying yesterday. i notice I have audition too (wonder if it came with captivate) - I will try that - I can see that there are some youtube videos about audition, so I'll have a look. thanks again!

  • Captivate 7.  How can I distribute audio across all of the slides?

New to Captivate.  When I recorded the audio, I did not know to record it to all of the slides.  all the audio is on the first slide.  How can I distribute it across all of the video slides?

@parth vyas ??? Why do you recommend to record/import this as background audio? I suppose the user wants to distribute the audio over slides, and to control how much audio on each slide, placing the slide markers where he wants? No such control is possible with background audio, which is just meant as... background.
@[email protected] Welcome to the forum,
So you choose to record to one slide which means that the slide will have a duration that corresponds with the length of the recorded audio clip. And you now want to distribute it over more sides? Is that a correct interpretation of your question?
One possibility is Audio, Edit, Project. In the editing dialog box, zoom out so that you see the entire audio clip. At its end you'll see a marker with a flag Slide 2 (yellow), which you can drag to the left, and then the audio will be partially on the second slide. At the new end you'll have the marker with flag Slide 3...
Second possibility: the audio clip will be in the Library. You can delete the audio on the first slide (Audio accordion), shorten slide to its wanted duration; then import the audio clip from the Library and you'll get a dialog box that has the option to distribute the audio over slides.
Third possibility: if you have the creative cloud or CS6, you'll have the roundtripping functionality with Audition CS6 or CC if you choose that option in the Edit Audio (Project) dialog box, and you can drag the slide markers in Audition.

  • Audio across multiple slides

How do I get a song to continue to play across multiple slides but not during the whole presentation? For example, I want a song to start on slide #6 and stop at slide #12.

    JDT:
Tulse and you are BOTH right. The process is cumbersome and it is a pain. It also has been described in great detail in previous threads in this Forum. Just search on the keywords: music tracks, audio tracks, slides with music, etc.
CAVEAT: slideshows with recorded soundtracks will not play with synchronization when initiated as a Hyperlink; all Builds and Transitions will need to be created to begin either Automatically, or via Click.
This and many other audio-related shortcomings of Keynote have been lamented numerous times to the Keynote Feedback Forum. Hopefully, some future upgrade to Keynote will address these issues. Until then, all we can do is apply band-aid work-arounds.

  • How to get audio out of speaker with angry birds app?

How do I get audio from the internal speaker for my angry birds app.? Only audio is through the head phone jack......

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • Can only get audio when trying to AirPlay from Dish app

Since updating to IOS 6 I only get audio when air playing from my Dish Network app on my iPad.  I can get audio and video when mirroring; however the quality is horrible and it doesn't fill my screen.  I was able to get audio and video both before updating my iPad and Apple TV.  The recent updates have been a disaster!!
Apple TV and AirPlay were  great products before. I thought updates are supposed to make Apple products better....not worse. Please help if there is a solution

Usually these types of limitations are added by the app developer, especially with media apps like these. However I would first try Resetting the devices. I found the best way to reset the iPad is to close all apps in the recently used app list. Double tap the Home button to reveal the list at the bottom then tap and hold one icon till they wiggle and display a minus button. Tap the to close all apps them press the Home button to get back to the home screen. Hold the Sleep button till "Slide to power off" appears. Once it has shut down completely press the Sleep button till you see the Apple icon.
The procedure is similar to resarting your computer when it starts acting flaky. iPads are just a hand head computer and rarely gets shut down or reset so it would be similar to running your computer for months at a time without shutting it down.

  • Can slide objects be customised across slides through one command?

I have 2 questions regarding editing multiple slides.
    1. Is it possible to change the default position and size of the slide numbers? Or if I change the size of the slide number to say, 36 and place it top centre, can I use that as a master for the remaining slides?
    2. Similar to inseting slide numbers, if I have a logo that I want on the top right of all 110 of my slides(in the same position), is there a way to generate this across slide without inserting manually in each slide?

This is easily solved by using hyperlinks (look that up in KN Help, too, to get more thorough info). First, make your "pre" presentation as a new KN file. Put a hyperlink on the last slide of that. Using the hyperlink inspector, direct the link to your "40 questions" file. When the link is clicked, which you will do at the finish of your "pre" presentation, the second presentation will open at the beginning, and the slide numbers will reflect that, i.e., they'll begin with "1". When you use hyperlinks for this sort of file-linking, the transition to the new file goes more smoothly if you have it already open before you begin your presentation.
NB: If you're a relatively new KN user, you may not know that there's a lot of tutorial information on the internet. Apple has: http://www.apple.com/iwork/keynote/, http://www.apple.com/iwork/tutorials/#keynote, and http://www.lynda.com/home/ViewCourses.aspx?lpk0=281&utmsource=applecom&utm_medium=partner&utm_content=iwork_resources&utm_campaign=iwor kresources. There's also a lot of informative stuff on YouTube. I'd start with this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQQwZ9zePvM&feature=related, and it's easy to find more. Even experienced KN users can often find tips and techniques they didn't know about.

  • Captivate 6, audio on slides randomly doesn't play

    Hi,
I am working in Captivate 6 adding closed captioning to files originally created in Captivate 5.5 by someone else. The audio will randomly not work on a slide or 2 in preview mode and when published (though it worked perfectly before from 5.5, but had no closed captioning). The odd thing is that it's not always the same slide in which the audio disappears, and that the audio will typically come back a slide or 2 later. It is a rather large file at 105 slides, and the issue starts occurring around slide 75. So I am wondering if splitting up the files might help? And I am not sure if this is an issue with closed captioning, Captivate 6, or both?
Publishing to Flash Player 9 as it's a linear presentation with no interaction.
Here are screenshots of the timeline and properties from a slide that the audio seems to frequently disappear:
    Any help/suggestions are appreciated.
    Angela

Your issue might be due to the audio getting out of synch with the slides.  Then at some point it has to wait to catch up.
Try this: Your screenshot of the slide timeline shows that the audio file is hard up against both ends of the slide. You need to create a small gap at the beginning and end of the audio file on each slide by just selecting the audio file and hitting the right arrow key twice move it to the right two frames, and then hit the left arrow key to move it back one frame.  This will give you a one tenth second pause at the beginning and end of the audio on that slide.  The end users will not detect the pause but because the gap is there, Captivate will think this piece of audio needs to be a separate clip.  Isolating the audio on each slide this way helps synchronisation of audio with slides.
In any project over a few dozen slides I would never recommend using a single large audio file with markers synched to each slide.  There are just too many different configurations of PC and browser out there that can cause playback to vary.

  • How do I get audio for my apps without headphones?

How do I get audio for my apps without headphones?  For some reason I can only hear the audio for many of my apps through my headphones. I've got the latest version of the OS so I'm not sure what else to do.  Volume works fine for all apps that use video like Netflix and YouTube. Help!

Instead of turning it off, try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons together for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until you see the Apple logo.
If the reset is not enough to knock a little sense into it, make sure that everything is backed up and restore the iPad to the factory settings.

  • Streaming audio across the whole folio

We have a client who is interested in creating a "radio" function, where we would stream audio across the whole folio. The desired effect would be that audio would play continuously and uninterrupted on each page of each article.
I know that there is a way to play a local audio file across the whole folio. We already tested that and it should work just fine, but the client would like the audio to be streamed from the internet because we may not have the rights to embed the audio files.
Do you know if there is a provision to do something like this from Adobe DPS? We heard that it might be possible by using a set up similar to browser frames, but I was unable to find any documentation about that.
    iPad only.

We don't support authoring streaming audio and video using the DPS authoring tools at the moment. There's no way to do this with a web overlay as the overlay will get removed from memory once your reader moves away to another article.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The missing apps could have been done by setting the Restrictions that can hid those apps. If the backup was made with those retrictions set the the Restrictions are also restored.
Thus, if you get it to work restore to factory settings/new iPod, not from backup

  • What do I need to connect my white macbook to my TV and get audio?

    I have Macbook 6,1. Upgraded with a OS X Lion 10.7.2.
I have bought the Kanex Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable with aduio support. I have been successful in hooking it up, to allow the display to work but I can not seem to get audio. I have found through research, that this might be because my macbook is too old, and does not have the correct hardware to send audio through this cable......is there a secondary cable that I can get to connect my audio?

If you have the Late 2009 model 6,1 White Unibody with the MiniDisplay Port there is an adapter that can combine video and audio to HDMI.

When I plugged the HDMI into the adaptor I am able to see the video play on my television however the sound is still coming through my computer instead of my televsion. You need to set the output in System Preferences > Sound > Output to HDMI.

  • How can I get audio to play from my TV when using hdmi cable?  Video looks great, just no sound.

How can I get audio to play from my TV when using hdmi cable?  Video looks great, just no sound.
I've tried plugging the hdmi into the TV directly and the receiver.
I get video every time.  HBO to Go , Xfinity, ABC, Youtube, etc...
    just no audio.  Any suggestions?
I've tried starting the apps then plugging in the hdmi cable.
I never tried this before I upgraded to IOS 5.

    Claudiamil-
I had not tried it with mine since upgrading to iOS 5, so I just did.  I'm using a small Vizio HDTV.  I did not try YouTube, but did try several videos and musical numbers.  In all cases there was sound, including stereo when the source had it.
I assume you are getting sound from the iPad when the adapter is not connected, so the volume is not turned down.  Dah*veed's suggestion to reset may be what you need.
