Verizon just took my wireless phone number away from me (my actual carrier is Straighttalk), during approximately 6 hours between my Straighttalk's monthly plan ended and when I went to reactivate my number. I've had the number for 10 years ... starting as a Verizon Landline customer, until they sold to FairPoint Communications, and then I ported the number to Straighttalk when I dropped the landline for a cell phone. I can't begin to tell you the inconvenience this has caused me, and it's only been two days since I lost my phone number. I think Verizon wanted the number back because it's a coveted number in the Burlington, VT area. My father is disabled with dimentia and prostate cancer ... all of his doctors, urologists, VNA in Chittenden County, VT as well as VNA in Western CT has this number. I am also his Power of Attorney, so all of his financial dealings - banks, retirement, pension plans, stock portfolios, etc, etc have this number and it is used to verify his accounts - all gone, because Verizon pulled the number out from under me during a couple of hours that my cell phone card ran out and the time (just several hours) before I reactivated the account. I'm frustrated beyond words. On top of all the inconvenience, this number is one of only two that my Dad can still remember - it is/was his lifeline to call me in case he had an emergency. The other number is a CT Landline, but I'm not around that landline most of the time to answer. I can't believe a phone company can pull a customer's number from out underneath them like this and not care about the havoc they've created. They could have at least checked with the customer. Very dissapointed with Verizon.

With our GoPhone service, you have 60 days to add money to your account and keep your mobile number. When you return to the states in September, you would need to start a GoPhone account with a new wireless number. You can go into an AT&T Store to see a list of 10 available phone numbers to choose from.

Breach of contract? You are in breach of contract by not paying for services rendered.
Why should you be late paying an invoice and yet expect Verizon to keep your device on? You are breaching the contract.
#PMT from your device gives you an option for payment arrangements. The system more than likely can only extend the due dates by a certain number of days.
*611 or 1-800-922-0204 and ask to speak to financial services and ask them to extend the date.
Verizon would be out of business if everyone just paid them when they please.

You can't get a phone number to use with Messages and FaceTime. You have to have an iPhone number for that.
Explain what is happening when you try to activate Messages and FaceTime? Did you go through the troubleshooting steps in the support article that your were reading when you posted your question to this forum?

Try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your device.
Note you may have to re-enter stored Wi-Fi passwords after using this feature.

Your ipad has a cellular access number in settings under cellular data.
it is not a phone, and that number can't be used to phone calls.

TS2755 Updated to ios 7, contacts that I have texted are all messed up, just get a phone number or part of a phone number listed when I text, no name. Not even sure my texts have gone through, no response from recipient.

I have updated to ios 7 as has my daughter. Now when I send her a text all that shows up is her phone number or part of the number, not her name. I'm not even sure she is getting the texts because she hasn't responded at all. She is usually very prompt. Is this a glitch with the new ios?

Actually you are not texting if she has an iOS device. Is the balloon the typing is in blue? Check your Settings>Messages and see if it is activated. You might want to call your daughter and ask her the same thing. Check her contact in your contacts app and see if the number is correct and everything is still there.
Then go into Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. This will not affect data. After that, if iMessage is activated, then try sending her a message.

I have a Samsung SCH-LC11. I do not have any Verizon cell phones. I want/need my hotspot's cell phone number so I can sign up for My Verizon and monitor data usage of my hotspot.

I am getting a little tired of having to log into Verizon's bloated(sorry, but it is) website just to check usage. Oh, wait, no. It does not work, according to the documentation(http://www.vzam.net/download/supported.aspx) from Verizon Wireless. We need a reliable monitor to show us(the customer) the usage, that does not require us to visit the VZW website. The statistics shown through the browser-controlled administration page are never correct, and the statistics continue to reset when you turn the MiFi device on or off, or when the device loses its connection.
Samsung needs to write a reliable data monitor, or VZW needs to. Either way, it is not right that customers have to use data to check their usage.

If you can satisfy the requirements for a French Online Number, yes - you can purchase an Online Number. Skype's partner for Online Numbers in France performs a verification process using your name and address before Skype issues you the French Online Number. You have to be a resident of metropolitan France to get that number.
For forwarding calls to a French landline, you would also need to either keep Skype Credit on your account to cover those forwarded calls, or purchase a subscription that covers the cost of calls to French landlines.

With the new Skype for iphone, I am unable to get the contact's phone number displayed. If I am doing something wrong, someone please let me know how to do this. there is no way to see your contact info on latest ios vesrsion. You can see only name. Thats all. what if I want to call someone on iphone instead of skype call using my international subscription. I've to go to my contact info every time as I dont know skype is calling on my contact's mobile no or skype ID. Its frustrating, time consuming and downgrading of the version. Where did you get the phone? Sounds to me like you purchased a second hand phone that was lost or stolen. Either that, or someone has compromised your iCloud account. Log into iCloud.com and check the status of your phone in Find my iPhone. It would be a really good idea to change your password if someone hasn't done so already and locked you out of the account. If they have contact Apple Support ( Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support ) and speak to someone in account security ASAP.

I am trying to find someone in customer service in billing. Been trying for three days to find a contact phone number. Not happy about how this process isn't very user friendly.
