Getting better contrast in Compressor 2?

In our current project we have been taking FCP 4.5 projects on my colleague's machine and exporting using the fastest settings of Compressor 1. That has been fine for developing, and the quality is not too bad, but the clips are slightly dark.
Now that we're nearly final with all clip edits I want to compress them at the highest quality I can (there are no disc contraints, other than slight caution about using too high a data rate). I tried using Compressor 2 on a 90 minute highest quality two pass vbr, and the results may or may not be better, they're certainly brighter, but they have a washed out lack of contrast look that is distracting.
I have BitVice, which produces videos with as much contrast as Compressor 1, and yet not as dark, so I'm fine for this project. Just out of interest though, what would be the way to use Compressor 2 so that the contrast remains good?

  • Setting my system in order to get better results in burning the SD AND HD

I need help with setting my system in order to get better results in burning the SD AND HD DVDs
    here are my system details:
    Camera : SONY HVRZ5U
    COMPUTER SYSTEM: MAC PRO 10.6.6
    SOFTWARE: FINAL CUT PRO 7
    Question #2:
My camera has a built in Firewire output, do I need a AJA capture card for my Mac PRO?

    I have a Z7u, Mac Pro running 10.6.5, FCP 6.0.6
You can capture HDV via Firewire. Make your preset HDV and edit in that timeline. But I would set the RENDER as Pro Res.
I have an AJA IoHD so I capture as Pro Res. Probably a better way to go, but certainly not necessary if you don't have a dedicated capture card.
After editing I take the resultant exported edited,self-contained .mov into compressor to make the mpeg2 and ac3 to take into DVDSP. These are SD DVD's. They come out just fine.
What don't you like about your results?

  • How to setup airport time capsule to get better performance?

I need to set up my wireless system with my new Airport time capsule 3T as primary base station to get better performance, and  If I have a cable modem  as primary device to get the signal (5MB) from the ISP then my network has one, Macbook pro, Macbook air, mac mini, 2 ipad's, 2 iphones, but neither of them is connected all time.
What is the best way to do that?
What wifi channel need choose to?

What is the best way to do that?
Use ethernet.. performance of wireless is never as good as ethernet.
What wifi channel need choose to?
There is no such thing as the best channel..
Leave everything auto.. and see if it gives you full download speed.
Use 5ghz.. and keep everything up close to the TC for the best wireless speed.
If you are far away it will drop back to 2.4ghz which is slower.
Once you reach the internet speed nothing is going to help it go faster so you are worrying about nothing.

  • How to get better resolution on Blu-ray (1080/60i)

I'm experimenting with my new AG-AC160A camcorder and have been shooting youth hockey games in AVCHD mode, 1080/60i, 1/120 shutter, manual gain and white balance set appropriately, and florescent scene file setting due to lighting in rink. I have PP CS5 and am disappointed with the relative lack of HD-crispness when the Blu-ray output is played on my HD LED set. I used the above settings based on recommendations I saw in the forum somewhere. Any suggestions on what I can try differently? Thank you.

To elaborate on Ann's great advice, the Sequence preset you should be using is AVCHD 1080i30 (60i).
A good way to start out with the correct sequence is to import your clips and then drag one onto the "New Item" icon at lower right of Project Bin. This will create a new sequence to match the source material automatically. As Ann mentioned, you have a non-HD preview format, so if you rendered the timeline to green, and checked "Use Previews" on the final export, then your Blu-ray could have "SD quality" footage in it!!
Curious why the 1/120 shutter, hoping to get better action motion?
If you have a current timeline using the incorrect settings, go ahead and add a NEW Sequence with correct settings, open original sequence and "Select All" which is CRTL + A, then CTRL + C to Copy. Then go to the proper AVCHD sequence and Ctrl + V to Paste entire contents. You will now have the edited sequence moved into correct sequence settings. Now use Export and in AME choose "H.264 Blu-ray" and choose the 1080i preset and export, then use results in Encore. The Blu-ray should look excellent when done correctly.
When exporting from AME, do NOT check the box for "Use Previews", as you want to encode direct from original source and skip any intermediate render clips.
    Thanks

  • How to get better perform here

    hi there,
bellow code is using with in the loop. how can i modify to get better performance.
SELECT knumv kposn kwert FROM konv
                                    INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF lt_konv
                                     WHERE knumv EQ lt_output-knumv
                                     AND kposn EQ lt_output-posnr
                                     AND kschl EQ 'VPRS'.
            COLLECT lt_konv.
          ENDSELECT.
    thx in adv.

the better solution for the select statement whould be to use the aggreagte function sum for the field kwert:
    SELECT knumv kposn sum(kwert)
                 FROM konv
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF table lt_konv
                 WHERE knumv EQ lt_output-knumv
                       AND kposn EQ lt_output-posnr
                       AND kschl EQ 'VPRS'.
The select is inside the loop an lt_output.
Aggregate functions and FOR ALL ENTRIES can not be combined, the
FOR ALL ENTRIES is a select distinct !!!
So you must leave the loop around the select and you can't use the FOR ALL ENTRIES, but this is o.k.,

When using the «line effect» on a picture frame and choose a «image border», these borders a very pixelated and low resoltion when i.e. printing on a quality printer. Seems to be only screen resolution (100-150 dpi)? Is this a bug in Pages – how to get better resolution for these borders when exporting for example to PDF?

Here you see the issue. The Document's size is A6 landscape, means 14.8x10.5 cm, and it prints and shows really pixelated

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
YouTube video does not come from the main YouTube site, it is specially encoded for the Apple TV and other devices that don't play flash. Generally quality is fixed with no way to adjust it and is often restricted by the quality of the video that has been uploaded.

  • Re: On 105 mbps plan but never get better than 22 mbps

I am living in this SAME nightmare!  Help.  I spent ALL day yesterday 8 hours on the phone with many many different people, some who were just plain RUDE and others who all contradicted each other. Sent me to get a new modem and we did that, speed still like the above.Called today, got a decent guy he tried helping for a while then phone cut out.  No call back.UMMM really?  Then yesterday during Chat, they guy just shut me off.I have 105 per my preferred bundle.  Really want to get that.  SOOOO Angry, if they did NOT have MONOPOLY on my community I would switch.  I however have NO one to switch to.  SO unamerican.  Poor service, HIGH prices. I left service center in tears as I watched elderly couple hobble out on their canes wondering how they can pay the increase to their bill.  That is just NOT right.

  • How do I get better resolution on my ipad2 camera

How to get better resolution from my ipad2 camera

The resolution of the camera is tied to hardware not software.  As James Ward4 said,  keep the lens clean and shot in the best lighting possible.  Shooting in dim light is the same as any other point and shoot camera.  The camera will try to compensate by slowing the shutter down so you will probably introduce camera shake into the mix which will blur the image unless you have the iPad stabalized on some type of tripod or camera mount.

  • RSSI... can i get better than -80 dBm ???

i would like to know if i should be able to get better than RSSI = -80 dBm (signal strength)... i have four bars (usb ec168 modem) whenever verizon is running at it's best here in northeast oklahoma... a former alltel region... my understanding is that RSSI = -80 dBm is the level that is described as "good enough for Rev A / evdo"...
in my research of this subject googling all over... i find that some people will get RSSI in the 70s and 60s... lower being better / stronger signal... can someone tell me why i cannot get these kinds of levels since i often have four bars showing 90-100% ???
when my RSSI drops to less than -80 dBm... higher values such as -85, etc... this is when my evdo drops to 1xrtt and even DO...
appreciate any enlightenment on this subject... thx!
*obviously, verizon (if you are listening...), since i am paying for 3g broadband... i would like to have 3g broadband, rather than the 1xrtt and DO that happens so very often, evenings, during the week!

Understood.  Actually, if you mean the towers are neither VZ or Alltel because the carrier name is not listed, it won't be.  Your service may not be from a tower per se either.  If there are antennas in the area, that may be where your signal is from.
The towers are listed by the owner and the carriers  lease space on them along with the antennas.  The sure way to tell is to use your cell phone if you have a VZ phone and do a field test with it since you have a desktop and cannot move it about.  The closer you get to the "site" of your signal source, the stronger your signal.  evdoforums.com can assist with a list of codes for each brand of cell or smartphone to help you determine this.  I also have this if you may need.
Actually, -80dbm is not a bad signal and from my experience, a small percentage get better than that.  The best possible is -50.
I wonder why this is even an issue since you have not reported any problem with speeds, connection or any problems that may be associated with the signal strength.  If there truly are only 3 towers and no antennas in your area then the reason is more than likely due to congestion.
I have also discovered that the signals, connections, etc. are all improving and doing an update for your PRL if that is possible through your software may just be the fix.
However, if you are insistant on spending money on antennas and/or amps, etc. when the signa isn't anywhere near abnormal, that is your choice.  Keep this in mind if you do, you may not have a gain in more than 10 dbm if you have any at all.
So have a great day and good luck.

  • Suggestions on Posting and Getting Better Answers

Hello, and Welcome to the Forums!
In order for this tool to be of maximum service, you should know that this forum is run and maintained by users just like you. No one in these forums is formally employed by MSI. All the Moderators started out just like you coming here looking for help or to gain some knowledge about a particular product. In simpler terms, this is a user to user help forum period. Please treat is as such.
We ask that you try clicking through the "Service" link found at the top of this page before posting your question.
Also try taking advantage of the Search option available at the top of every page within the whole forum community.
Perhaps it already has been answered.
Please Read through all the "Important" and "Announcement" threads at the top of each forum you visit (These are known as "Stickies") these threads hold a lot of good information pertaining to each forum.
This will help us all stay focused on the current topics at hand and avoid having to answer the same question over and over again.
We request when posting a new topic/thread, you provide us with as much information as you can about the particular product and problem encountered. Please provide a brief, but complete history of what was done prior to the problem. It will give everyone a better chance at troubleshooting and minimize the chance of having to ask many questions to get to the root of your Problem.
If it's a general question that doesn't apply to a specific product, then it is not necessary to include make and model info. Just be advised that the less information you give, the more guesses you will get and your post is likely to be ignored by a majority. So do yourself and everyone else a favor and be detailed.
Suggestions for the subject line: (EXAMPLE)
    1. Enter the model, then the MSI  Part number (If available) This also helps differentiate at a glance and helps in searches as well.
Keep in mind that MSI no longer lists products by Part Number, only by marketing name. Anytime you post a part number only and no one recognizes it, it's likely to be ignored. So please try to find the marketing name for your product. We are not privy to internal part numbers any longer.
    2. Then, after the product description, add the problem or question.
Example: "K7N2G-ILSR MS-6570 Problem with graphics skipping"
Stay away from weak or lame posts like: "HELP, My computer is broke!"
Better yet, just keep the word "help" out of the subject entirely, we know why you're here. Exclaiming help is like pressing the elevator button repeatedly in hopes that the elevator will hurry up.
Please take advantage of the Signature option in your member profile and enter your Hardware, OS and any other info that will benefit users in troubleshooting your problem. Please, Don't leave out Power Supply information! This is the most commonly overlooked component in your system. Please look at the sticker found on the side of the PSU and include the corresponding amperages on the +12v, +5v, & +3.3v lines! If you run into a problem and we think it might be related to a power issue, you will be asked for this information. Save us the hassle of having to ask for it, please!
You can take my Signature for example or anyone else's. Just remember that you can change it at anytime and add/remove any information as needed.
Click on the button at the top, select "Forum Profile Information" from the menu on the left under "Modify Profile", then scroll down to the Signature box, and type in your signature there.
Also a good guide to help get better answers can be found here http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html It was originally intended for hackers but the basics are covered rather nicely.
    Thank you for your cooperation..

    I have a suggestion!
why don't you make a sticky for every mainboard type, after all, they each have specific problems!
or at least the topics should be about every mainboard type, based on the clasification on the msi site!
so when someone has a problem it would search for it's mainboard topic and have the info, all, in just one place!
it would be great if every mainboard had it's own forum!
please take this into consideration! thanks
