Getting BI Menus to Portal
The BI Dashboard page options like save custom dashboard are not coming up once the dashboard is integration to ADF Page via BI Presentation services connection.
Any idea on how to bring the BI Menus to ADF Page?
thanks

Hi Madhuri,
It looks to me that WAS setting is not done in your system.
WAS setting needs to be done for the selected system also make sure sap/bw/bex is activated in SICF.
Under WAS setting you will be giving the host name, port and was path.
Path for config. in portal:
System Administration->System Configuration->System->System->(your desired system)

Work item not getting displayed in the portal
Hi experts,
We are creating a protoype for one of the standard HCM form for change in working time. When we initiate the process, the workflow is supposed to identify the agent(which is the manager in this case) and push the work item in the inbox of the manager.
In our issue, we are able to see the workitem in SAP inbox, but the same work item is not getting displayed in the portal.
If we try to approve from the SAP inbox, the hard coded message u201CWork item can only be executed using the Portal and the UWLu201D comes. [this comes through the method of one of the tasks 17900101 which we are using for approving the form]
We commented the message by using a Z class. Now we donu2019t get the hardcoded message, but still the workflow does not complete from here.
Can this be aan integration issue of the workflow tasks with the portal??Can someone elaborate on this??<ItemType name="uwl.task.webflow.TS17900101.SAP_ECC" connector="WebFlowConnector" defaultView="DefaultView" defaultAction="launchWebDynPro" executionMode="default">

You have to say to your portal team to modify their XML file as above. In simple you hvae to configure the task in the portal and in the SWFVISU txn as follows with the following vizualization parameters

Hi all,
I'd like to ask you for help with my Portal application.
I need to retrieve all users in Portal.
Now I'm using searchUsers method of UserFactory object. It returns to me all users, but it is very time-consuming operation for cca. 3500 users in result.
There is another method how to get users
UserFactory.getUniqueIDs()
, but list of users is not complete (SIZE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED).
Can anybody please advise me how to get all users in Portal (some standard way)? And faster?
Many thanks for help,
PavelHi,
Refer to,

Get current user in portal service context
hi guys,
We want to implement a portal service which will check user's role from LDAP, and we need to get the current user id.
We know for class IPortalComponentRequest, there is method getUser().getUserId(), is there any similar method for IServiceContext? or any way for us to get user id in portal service?
regards,
Guo FengHi Feng,
Implement
public String getParameter(IPortalComponentRequest arg0, String arg1)
eg in your implementation class and add the following code.
IUserContext userContext = arg0.getUser();
String username = userContext.getLogonUid();
String full_name = userContext.getDisplayName();

Getting outlook inbox in portal
Hi Friends,
I want to configure OWA in my portal. I need only the inbox of OWA .so what should i do to get this done.
regards,
M.ArunkumarHi Arun,
Please do all the following steps carefully. At the end you will get OWA in your portal.
Please ensure that mail service, Notification service and Subscription service is working fine.
Also user mapping should be done properly according to Exchange Server. This can be done for all the different Exchange users whose OWA you want to access.
1. Logon to portal as administrator
2. Navigate to Content Administraion -> Portal Content -> Content provided by SAP -> Collaboration -> demo Role -> iViews.
3. Right click on link "Outlool Web Access Inbox" the click on menu Open-> Object
3. Select Show All property category->
Select hight type as FULL_PAGE and
Set the URL template as
http://<Your exchange server name which you configured in mail service for example dald3456:34567>/Exchange/User.UserId/Inbox/?cmd=contents
Expand the arrow button (URL Template). In the End-user Personalization select
Read/Write instead of Hidden
(If you are not able to find this combo box then you need to create through PCD. Please see at the end for procedure to create)
4. Give the role "Collaboration Demo" to end user where you want to configure the OWA.
5. Logon to portal as end user (Even you can make your administrator as end user)
6. Navigate to Collaboration Demo -> Outlook Web Access -> Inbox
7. Click on Menu Tray under "Outlook Web Access Inbox" -> Click on menu "Personalize"
8. Set your language and URL Template. You just need to change "User.UserId" with end user name (for example if end user name is ArunKumar just change "User.UserId" with ArunKumar)
9. Click on button Apply
10. Now you will get User Authentication Window. Enter your user name and password (User name and Password should be the same which you entered during user mapping)
Now you are able to see the inbox of that particular user.
Steps to create "End-user Personalizatio" Combo Box
Please note that you can do this if you are already familar with PCD otherwise first time take a help from PCD expert because one wrong step will crash your portal.
1. Logon to portal as Administrator
2. Navigate to System Administration -> Support -> Portal Content Directory -> PCD Inspector ->
3. Accept the term and conditions
4. Browse to portal content -> com.sap.pct -> Collaboration -> Demorole -> iView
5. Click on PropEditor of OWA inbox iView
6. Click on link "New Mata"
7. Select URL Template from combo box
8. Add URL template as "personalization" and Value of Meta Attribute: as "NON_DIALOG"
9. Click on button 'Create'
Now you are able to see the personalization combobox. You can see SAP note # 999543 for more information.
If you have any problem please feel free to ask.

Users details not getting populated in the portal tables..
Hi,
We have implemented single sign on (SSO) and we do not create users in the portal as user/pwd come from OID.
Now becoz of this the portal tables are not getting populated.I require that all the users of the OID to be populated in the portal tables. How can I do it.I depserately require it.You can use the function wwsec_api.activate_portal_user to create the shadow records in the portal repository.

Overmenu isn't getting displayed in the portal
Hi,
I have created overview for my portal and have assigned the same to multiple users. The problem is that, the same overview is getting displayed for some users and it isn't for some.
Well, if there is anything i can know related to this, it would be very much helpful.
Thanks in Advance.Vipin,
Open the overview page or iview that you have created in the PCD and open the permissions of it.
Add the everyone group and check enduser and try.
Good Luck.

To get login details of portal into webdynpro application
Hi All,
How to get the portal login details(user name) into my webdynpro application.
Thank you,
Harsha P.Hi,
If you want to have portal login details from backend system (with ABAP) you should ask this question in some portal forum and ask if it is possible. This has nothing to do with workflow or UWL. Even if you get the portal user ID to the backend system, then what? Do you want to manipulate the portal roles etc. from your ABAP WD application? Then you will have even more complicated requirements to achieve with ABAP. It is not that straightforward to call different portal functionalities from backend system. You might need to do some "portal development". And eventually your ABAP WD application might come just an unnecessary wrapper component for calling some web services or whatever in portal.

arisHello,
It is true for JSR168 portlets that you can't just arbitrarily set parameters on a URL and get access to them inside your portlet- you must use the appropriate APIs on the PortletURL class to set parameters that you can retrieve. This is the only portable (standards-compliant) way to implement the functionality you want.
However, for your particular use-case, you can get the URL parameters from the (non-JSR168) HttpServletRequest object. The only reason you are getting a null object for that is because the attribute name is wrong. This should work:
HttpServletRequest httpRequest = (HttpServletRequest)(request.getAttribute("javax.servlet.request"));
String eventId = httpRequest.getParameter("eventId");

Getting javascript error in portal admin
Dear all,
When i tried to add a content item in the CMS of Weblogic Portal 8.1, an "unterminated string constant" javascript error is displayed and i can't add the content. This happens only when the content item is of a type that contains one or more calendar type property.
Did anybody also encounter that and have some idea how to solve it?
Thank you!!

Problem with special characters getting converted into '#' in portal
Hi All,
The special characters like " - ", " ' ", " ` ", are getting converted into '#' when the smartform is displayed in portal.
I have a smart form in which the text contains the above special characters and they are getting displayed as ' # ', when the form is invoked in portal. We are not able to trace the problem.
I need your input on this ASAP.
Thanks in Advance,
SowmyaThis could be caused by conversion routine on the field.
in sapscript, can use &FIELD-NAME(K)& to ignore conversion routine
To see this and other options, in text edit of script select menu option Insert>Symbols>New and then type field name and select desired check box options - field will be placed in script with relevant formatting characters
