Getting box says 'Do you use Yahoo toolbar on multiple computers' cant get rid of box. Wont accept input or close!
The box has two buttons. One says 'save to my Yahoo!ID' the other says 'no thanks, just save to this computer'. I can press each button but nothing seems to happen. The only way to get rid of the box is to close firefox. I am using an HP s5713w-b and windows-7.
I downloaded the firefox with the Yahoo enhancements.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

When I log on to Firefox, I get this block that pops up saying, "Do you use the Yahoo! Toolbar on multiple computers? It has 2 buttons asking "Save to my Yahoo! ID or No thanks, just save to this computer" It drops down from the Yahoo toolbar, next to the Y! on the left side of the tool bar. I have tried the Save button and no response, I tried the No thanks button no response. I tried the underlined "Learn more" and it too no response. I tried the close X but that does not get rid of this box. I tried right clicking and no response. It stays there through out while working on the mail, I cannot access the that toolbar so I cannot use the buttons on this tool bar. Please help or I will have to try another browser to see if it go away.

whenever I open my yahoo mail when using Firefox, a pop up box appears on the upper left side of the screen, it asks the question "do you use the yahoo! toolbar on multiple computers?" and gives click boxes for "Save to my yahoo ID" and "No thanks, just save to this computer". I get no response to clicking on either box, nor will the pop up close if I click on the "X" in the upper right corner of this pop up. It won't close out and it sits right over the top of the email messages in my inbox. All else seems to work fine, but can't get rid of this pop up box....very annoying.

When using the migrate tool to migrate from windows to mac, can you use ethernet to connect the computers to each other? In the Migration tool, I was only given the option of choosing the computer when it appeared on the same network, and didn't see an option to connect them to each other. Even though they're both connected to the same network with a wired connection, the migration is painfully slow.

Firefox just had me update to firefox 5, now I lost my Yahoo toolbar, and all of my yahoo bookmarks. I really wanted to keep that. Can I go back to older version of Firefox,, or import my Yahoo bookmarks some way? This was very disappointing.

Using one library for multiple computers and accounts (not store accounts)
Okay, we currently have four macs in the house. One was recently bought: i7 iMac (late 2009), another is dying: (mid 2005 iMac), another is going somewhere else: (late 2006 iMac) and another is a laptop: C2D MBP (late 2008). We might add another computer into the mix some time later.
Anyway, what I want to do is have one iTunes library which all of the computers can access (even guest's/friend's computers). We have a Time Capsule, and as I have heard one can make the TC the HDD for the iTunes library, I thought it best for it to be there.
The only thing is, how can each computer (and the possible multiple accounts) each access the same library, without duplicating and messing anything up? Is that possible? If it is too hard for multiple computers to do this, I would still want the (late 2009) iMac to be able to use the same library for the two accounts on it.
Thanks.Make sure everything you want to share is on the centralized drive (music, video, and books, but if any of you have mobile devices, keep the apps on your local drive). Mount the drive on your computer. (Remember, from now on you must do this before starting iTunes.) If iTunes isn't running, start it now.
At the moment iTunes thinks the library is on the local computer and has all the music on it so that has to be changed. Click on Music in the left window pane, select all, and delete. This deletes all the music from the library and, if you choose, from the computer too. (Until you are sure this set-up is to your liking, don't delete the music from the drive.) Now go to Preferences and select the Advanced tab. Set iTunes to look at the music folder on your shared drive. And finally, select File>Add to Library to repopulate your iTunes library. This could take a while if you have a large music collection.
Since you changed the music location, anything that is added to one person's library will be saved onto the shared drive so it isn't too much of a hassle to manually add music. You'll have to rebuild playlists which is a minor hassle but it’s a one time deal. -
Using my ipod with multiple computers: not the usual problem I think
I've searched the forum and various help documents but I couldn't find the answer to this.
I have a laptop at the office (work-related, so I don't have any of my music on it, just itunes) and my computer at home. Ideally I'd like to:
= keep my ipod automatically synced to my home computer
= be able to connect my ipod to my work laptop and play the music stored on it through itunes there, and also keep it charged and ready for the trip home.
It seems that the 'manually manage music and videos' setting travels with the ipod, rather than being stored on the computer's itunes installation. If I set it at work, so I can play music there, when I connect the ipod at home I have to reset it (and a few times when I did so the ipod started deleting everything because 'sync my music' was not checked, grrr).
I just want to set things up in a way so that when I connect my ipod at work it will let me play whatever songs I have there (without wanting to sync anything), and when I connect it at home it will automatically update it. It's simple enough, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it.
If I connect the ipod at work and press 'cancel' when the 'do you want to erase things' pops up, it doesn't try to change the settings, but at the same time it doesn't let me play music at all, everything is greyed out
does anybody have any idea? I don't want to resort to have to buy a usb power adapter just so that I can play my ipod at work without draining the battery...B_Ram wrote:

all i can think of, i you really must do that, is this:
to prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod - hold down the option and the command ( on a PC that would be the shift and ctrl ) keys when plugging in the ipod - keep pressing the keys until the iPod is listed under the devices list in iTunes. now you should be able to do what you want.
however, you do so @ your own peril, as the article above outlined.
alternatively, consider a setup such as this.

Using Aperture Library from Multiple Computers
My Aperture library is on an external drive and I have used multiple computers to add files to the library. Unfortunately when I use a different computer than the origin it tells me that the masters are unavailable and I cannot use the image. It tells me they are offline . Any fixes?
If you put the library entirely on the external drive then no, you won't be able to view previews when the hard drive is disconnected.
To do that, and share edits with your brother, you'll need to import and export projects. It might be possible to use referenced images, and import or export the project without consolidating masters first, if your masters are on the external drive. I think you'll just need to do some testing, and have a read of 'bagelturf's pages about how the library is organised, and how referenced images work.

I need help using my ipod on multiple computers!
Okay so i got my Ipod on my iMac, and i usually download music from that computer to the ipod and it automatically syncs what i have on my itunes to the ipod, but i recently got a mac book pro, and i read on the apple support page that to transfer music from a secondary computer you have to connect the ipod to the secondary computer and set the ipod to "manually manage songs and videos" however when i select this option, and click apple, it still tells me i have to erase all the music on the ipod currently and replace it with whats on the secondary computer (macbook), all i want to do is be able to take one or two songs that i download from my macbook and put it on the ipod without having to erase everything.
