Getting calls from blocked numbers

I have been receiving phone calls from a blocked number, is there any way to find out who it is? I know when someone blocks there number on a landline you can *69 and call the number back can you do that with a cell phone?

    Hey there, barkar! Although it's been a while, I recall a period of time when I would get calls from blocked numbers. It can be very upsetting! I wish I could say that there's a way to see beyond those blocks, but the very purpose of the blocks is to protect the caller's privacy (even if that protection may come at the expense of the peace of mind of those being called). The best advice I can offer is to just not answer calls from individuals you either don't recognize or don't expect. Let them roll to voicemail. Must legitimate calls will leave you a message with their intentions stated.
And, if they become too much to handle, you do have the option to change your mobile number free of charge through My Verizon. Good luck to you!

    I've blocked numbers through the call and message blocking service but I still get texts from those numbers... Help!!!  It only allows me to block ten digit numbers but the messages come from a +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx number.

    Do you have an Iphone? Because sometimes Imessage can still come through, if not, call Customer Service at 1-800-922-0204, they'll be able to force through the block

  • Blocking calls from restricted numbers

    There needs to be an option to block restricted numbers from calling you. All I can find is where you can block specific numbers, but that specific number can still call you simply by putting a block on their number. That defeats the purpose of offering that option...

    YouMail is a free voicemail service that gives you a workaround for dealing with restricted or blocked numbers.  It's called "DitchMail" - when it sees a blocked or restricted number, the caller gets a recorded message (yours, or DitchMail's default) saying that you do not accept calls from blocked numbers, please unblock and try again - and then it hangs up without giving the caller an opportunity to leave a message.
    It doesn't prevent the call from coming in - but it does deal with it so you don't have to.  If you see a blocked number coming in, you can always hit End or Ignore, sending them straight to VM or DitchMail.

        tdesomma1,
    That is definitely odd! Are these calls telemarketing calls? Have you answered and requested that they remove you from thier calling list?

    Stop answering calls with blocked numbers. If it's someone who really wants to talk to you, they'll leave you a message and you can call them back.

  • Blocking calls from Unknown numbers?

    Hello all,
    Is there any option/application in iPhone 4S, IOS6.1.3 where I  can block any calls from unknown numbers?
    Specifying exactly, I want to receive calls from people only those whose numbers are saved in my phone or say Saved Contacts Only.
    Nobody other than that should be able to call me.
    That would be of a great help.

  • Iphone 5 not getting text from new numbers?

    im on ios 7.0.4. Recently, ive been having the problem of not getting messages from new numbers. I receive all texts and calls from all current phone numbers ive ever had contact with. But for the past month, any new numbers that text me first, i do not receive them. But if i text and or call them first, it works fine. Which isnt always a convinence. They sent me screen shots of my number and their text; they all have different phones on different services.

        Perk123, this is a text messaging mystery! I'm on the case. I recommend that delete all unwanted text messages on your device and power it off/on to soft reset it.
    You will also need to advise your friend that has the AT&T iPhone to reset the network on their device. This can be done by accessing Settings >General >Reset >Reset Network.
    Lastly your friend needs to verify if your contact has been set up to block calls and text messages from your mobile number. This option is located in Contacts >your contact> Block this caller.
    Keep us posted.

  • Is anyone else getting calls from Lagrange, GA? (706)594-**** area?

    I have been getting calls from:706-594-****, 706-594-****, 706-594-****, 706-594-****.  If I let it go to voice mail. They won't leave a message. and if I answer it they hang up. It's my belief that they are a service in determining if the line is active and what times you answer. Normally when I call them back I get a message that their voicemail box is full and I can't leave anything. But on the last attempt, I was able to reach 706-594-****, the man said he was out of the states and the call did not come from him because it would have been several $$/per min. and he claims someone must be using his number. (Are you getting this Verizon?) I did a reverse number look-up and found out these numbers are Verizon Numbers! Can't you put an end to this? Or as long as they're a paying customer.....they can do whatever they want to other customers?
    Please people, if you are being harassed by telemarketers, prank callers, spoofers (like the ones who call and caller ID says "000-000-0000") Speak up, speak out! let verizon know there is a problem. They need to make a Complaint Page. One where you can enter Problem numbers quickly. They can check it out, look at it's history and even block or invalidate his/her service if chosen to do so.
    I am on "do not call list". My number is unlisted. I don't give my number out. So the only way I'm getting calls is from an auto dialer or Verizon is leaking them out..
    All I know, I'm sick of it. Something needs to be done. We shouldn't have to pay a monthly service to add numbers to a blocked lists that blocks the numbers permanently and is limited to only 20. Nor the free service be limited to 5 and only lasts for a few months. Let's put our heads together and find something that works!

    If you create a metadatatype with a single metdata block, and you reference that in your vm/cm cell attribute using a *one* based index, Excel seems to see the link and it honors it when saving the spreadsheet.
    So, I ended up with something like:
    <c ... cm="1"/> (I'm dealing with cell metadata, but the concept is equivalente to value metadata)
    <metadataTypes count="1">
      <metadataType name="MyMetaType" .../>
    </metadataTypes>
    <futureMetadata count="1" name="MyMetaType">
      <bk>
        <extLst><ext
    uri="http://example" xmlns:x="http://example"><x:val>87</x:val></ext></extLst>
      </bk>
    </futureMetadata>
    <cellMetadata count="1">
      <bk><rc
    t="1" v="0"/></bk> <!-- this is what gets referenced as cm=1 on the cell -->
    </cellMetadata>
    Hope this helps.

    They are calling constantly with words like "F**K " "hot s*x"in the tag line and I dont want this on my work mobile.  How can this get by your security settings and how do I get rid of them.  I have signed out of the mobile app which is the only way to stop them calling over and over again.
    Help    urgent

    Excuse me?
    A: Where did you get the phone?
    B: What is the EXACT error message you get?

    I'm using same icloud and same apple ID on two iphones. Now i get calls from same number on both iphones at the same time. How to turn off that?

    Apple ID's are not device specific, so when you changed it on the iPad 2 it changed it on the iPhone 4 as well, since it's the same account still. What you need to do is create a second Apple ID (so you'll have two accounts, one for iPhone 4 and a seperate one for iPad 2).
    To create a new Apple ID on your iPad 2:
    1) Go into Settings > Store.
    2) If you are already signed in, tap your Apple ID on the screen and you will be given a few options, one of which is to sign out of your account.
    3) After you sign out, now click the "Sign in" button.
    4) Tap "Create New Apple ID" and follow the instructions on-screen.

  • Am I the only one getting calls from 253-802-0308 about malicious file downloads after updating FIREFOX?

    After updating Firefox I start getting calls from 253-802-0308 (International Telcom in Auburn Washington, found using 411.com). The report that they are getting messages that my Windows PC is reporting the downloading of malicious files. I don't think that there is a connection with Mozilla but it only started after I ran the last 2 or 3 updates to Firefox. Searches on Google and other search engines don't show logical connections to the phone calls and the problem being reported to me. None of my anti-virus programs, Ccleaner, DEFENDER & AVG pickup and malicious files. I'm curious about who they may be because when I question them during the calls they end up hanging up on me. Just wondering if similar problems are being reported.

    That is a reported scammer set-up. Read some of the following from actual phone customers. It is not related to your Firefox updates. I have gotten a few of these types of calls on my '''''unlisted '''''home phone number over the past several years. They use a dialer, usually automatic and sequential number dialing. Get a loud whistle to blow into the phone mouth piece or one of those loud air horns from the hardware/sporting good store; this kind of trash deserves broken ear drums.

  • We are getting calls from "peoples connect u.s.a." telling us they are providers of service for Microsoft and Macintosh. They have been informed our computer has informed them our drivers are in going to crash. legit. We think they are bogus. Right?

    Does anyone else get calls from "Peoples' Connect U.S.A." indicating they have received error signals from our computer that that all drivers are going to crash and that our system is at high risk?

    I get about one a day, usually saying our Windoze computer is infected (we don't have a Win computer). I cheerily thank then for calling and say I need to transfer them to our IT manager (I'm a home user so no such thing), lay down the phone near a radio with elevator music, and go about my business.
    One person reported here within the last month that they fell for the trick. The callers ended up with $600 of her money for something that did not need fixing. They also ended up with her credit card number, her phone number, and her e-mail address. They had a good day; she didn't.
    As most of these calls come from overseas (I call them "Mike from Mumbai" calls), the FCC can't do much but wring their hands. They've not been able to stop the "Rachel from Cardholder Services" robo-calls that have been plaguing US households for nearly a decade.
