I'm guessing this is an extrenal drive, correct? If so make sure the library you're importimng into is really located on the external drive. By default Aperture creates its library in your home pictures folder.

Hello, I get the following pre execute error message(see below) when I try to import a table from Excel when using the wizard. I wrote my own code in the edit window. i noticed after writing it that the data types did not appear changed in the mappings window.

HT4858 why am I getting an error message while importing from iPhone photo stream to iMac ?

I have not shared any photo for a few months. I tried to import photos into my iMac from iPhone photostream and I get a message saying "an error occurred while importing photo, please try again later". What am I doing wrong ?

There's no need to import photos from your iPhone to your iMac. Photostream is synced automatically via iCloud on Wi-Fi.
On your iPhone, tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Photo Stream is switched ON.
On your iMac, open System Preferences > iCloud
Make sure Photo Stream is selected.

Error message when downloading from Panasonic D100B

I was trying to download video from my Panasonic D100B camera using Final Cut Express for first time. It seemed to download correctly but then an error message popped up saying "Connected device does not support the number of audio channels required to capture one or more of selected clips. Try disabling the Used Logged Clip settings option in the Batch capture dialog or modify the capture settings of your clips by chosing clip settings from the mmodify menu".
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

The files are not going to work with FCE directly.
You might want to try converting them first using something like Streamclip.

In Streamclip make sure it's a QuickTime file conversion that matches one of the FCE Easy Setups, audio and video settings.

I am just importing CD music onto my laptop and after 316 songs I get the erro message, "There is not enough room on "" to copy all of the requested files. iTunes will copy as many files as possible."
Why the error and how do I fix it?

I get this message when I try to copy from the front panel: Incorrect paper size. Load different media or change copy paper size settings. It does not matter what I am trying to copy. I have checked the paper size and media and they are set on what I want -- Letter size and plain paper. It started after I cleared a paper jam from the back of the copier. Hope someone can help me. I am also having the exact same problem. I tried resetting it back to default settings (power on, unplug power cord, hold the # and 3 buttons while plugging back up). However, this has not helped. So far the only solution I saw is to upgrade to another printer, but copying seems to be such a simple function for this problem to be so hard so solve. Unfortunately, I've seen no other answers, so upgrading may be my only option even though I have no other problems :-(

ERROR MESSAGE WHEN IMPORTING FROM IPODS WITH IGADGET

I just upgraded to VISTA and was unable to transfer my songs off ofmy old computer, so decided just to use IGADGET to transfer off ofmy IPOD. The error when I try to transfer songs is: ERROR- retrieving the COM CLASS factory for component W/CLSID. Does anyone have any ideas about this? I have not deauthorized my old computer, and I am not sure if this is the issue. At times my IPOD also shows that it is synced to more than one library. Any help would be appreciated

Why do I get a error message when emailing from Lr?

What am I doing wrong, trying to send Lr email?
I get this "Message:
Can't send e-mail because some selected photos are missing."
I highlight a photo and right click, select 'Send e-mail' and the email form comes up - with the pic thumbnail showing at the bottom. Fill in the address and description and hit send.
Doesn't matter if I'm in Develop or a collection.

Check the thumbnails for exclamation marks, an indication of missing files. If you have moved images or folders using your computer operating system LR won’t know what you did and the original links will have been broken. You need to point LR to where you now keep the image(s) on your hard drive.

Based on the error message” Could not allocate a new page for database REPORTING' because of insufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY'. Create the necessary space by dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting
autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup”, we can know that the issue is caused by the there is no sufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY' for the ‘REPORTING’ database.
To fix this issue, we can add additional files to the filegroup by add a new file to the PRIMARY filegroup on Files page, or setting Autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup to increase the necessary space.

Error message when importing CD's into iTunes.

I've just started getting an error message when importing audio CD's into itunes. +"Error occured while converting the file "........". The disk could not be read from or written to."+ I've been importing CDs for years now and this just started happening last night. The disk image shows up on the desktop, itunes opens and recognizes the disk and searches the database and finds the artist/track names/album etc. Then when I click the import button, I get this message. If I click on the disk image in the desktop and click on a specific file it will play through iTunes. No new changes except for maybe downloading the latest iTunes update. Any suggestions? Iron-Mike, MP3 and AAC were both invented well after CD audio and both algorithms are well aware of CD format. Make sure you have "Soundcheck" settings turned on both for iTunes playback and for CD burning. iTunes Soundcheck is supposed to normalize the volumes in spite of variations in the files. Many people have noticed that they don't really work very well, but having them on is better than nothing.

Error message when publishing from Captivate 4 to MS Word 2003

Is anyone else getting an error message when publishing from Captivate 4 to MS Word 2003? I tried all 4 types and still get the following:
"An error was encountered while publishing to Word. Verify the following and try again. Word is installed on your system. Word is not busy."
Word is installed on my system and was not in use, so I am not sure why the error. Any thoughts?

I use Captivate 4 and it publishes to Word 2003 without issues.
Perhaps it has to do with the way your Word 2003 has been installed? Either that or it's a "rights" issue to be addressed by your IT propellerheads?

Don't worry I've sorted it! I just had to turn off Reminders as well in iCloud. Calendar then worked fine, even when I turned Calendar and Reminders back on.

Error Message When Importing Bookmarks From A Network Share

An error message is generated whenever I try to import bookmarks.html from a network share on kubuntu. This same operation is sucessful on the windows version of firefox.
To replicate:
The bookmarks.html is created by Firefox 3.68 on windows 7. And is saved to a network share location. When trying to import this file into firefox 3.6.8 on my kubuntu 10.04 machine, I get the error message/window titled: remote files not accepted. The message states: You can only select local files.
If I copy bookmarks.html local to the kubuntu machine, it imports without error.
On windows, I can import bookmarks.html from the network share without error.
Does anyone know why I can't import across the network on the kubuntu version?

It appears to be any remote file, not just the bookmarks file. When trying to upload a file to a website, firefox threw up the same error:
error message/window titled: remote files not accepted. The message states: You can only select local files.
So what is it about files that are sitting on a server, firefox and kubuntu that causes this? I don't get the error message when using win7 on the same files.
