Getting contacts back from icloud

My contacts are all but gone on my phone except for the email addresses.  I looked up my iCloud account on my pc and they are all there.  How do I get them back on my phone?

Go into the Contacts App in the iPhone, tap on the Groups button (top left corner), and make sure iCloud is selected there. Toggle it on and off to make it refresh.

I have lost all of my Contacts on iPhone.  I switched off Contacts in iCloud and did not save the numbers to my phone, thinking that when I switched Contacts back on, it would resync and it does not appear to be doing so.  Any help to get my contacts back on my phone from iCloud would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

pls tell me to to get back the bookmark menu. I haven't saved them other places.

  • Contacts disappeared--how to get them back from iCloud?

All of my contacts disappeared from my iPhone 4S--doesn't seem to be in response to a particular thing I did, they were just gone one day.  I logged on to iCloud from my computer, and they are still listed there, but I couldn't see a way to get them back onto my phone.  Can someone help?

iPhone Contacts: Sync iPhone Contacts via iCloud
Please note you must have had previously turned sync on for your contacts in order for them to be on the icloud server.

Sign in with your apple id and password and see if they are there.
if they are not there they are lost. however if you had a previous apple device like an iPhone or ipad etc. they may be on those devices.
    Good Luck

  • How do I get my contacts back from iCloud?

I wanted to get out of iCloud. When I unchecked my Contacts I got a window that asked if I wanted to keep my contacts on my Mac or delete. I clicked "delete". I shouldn't have. Can I get my old contacts back? How could Apple supply such a damaging piece of software as this? It goes against Apple's extremely user friendly past.

Your Contacts are still in iCloud.
Sign in again, wait for your contacts to appear, then sign out and DON'T choose delete this time.

    Because it is not damaging.

  • My imessaging doesn't work after the latest software update and was told that i will have to reset my phone will i lose my contacts if they are back up to icloud and how do i get them back from icloud?

i need to know whether or not i will still be able to get my contacts back if i reset my phone to factory specifications

If they are synced to iCloud and appear on icloud.com, they will reappear on your phone when you sign back into your account.  As a precaution, you could use an app like My Contacts Backup to back them up before you restore if you wish.  I would also recommend as a precaution that you import your camera roll photos and videos to your computer before restoring, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

I deleted my pics on my ipod by mistake, how do I get them back?

You can go to the PhotoStream folder on your computer (if you set up photostream on your computer) and get them their.
If you backed up the iPod after you took the photos you can restore the iPod from backup.

Just deleted a video on my iPhone 5 by accident.can I get it back. I have iCloud and was all switched on under my settings.thanks;)

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you have a back up with the video on, you'll need to restore your phone, if so is your back up in iTunes or iCloud.

  • How can I get my phone contacts back from iCloud?

For an unknown reason, all my phone contacts got deleted. I have a back up in my Mac Book Pro but haven't found the way to get them my iPhone back. How can I achive so?

If they are on your MacBook, open contact on your Mac, click on All Contacts on the left-hand side, click on a single contact to the right and press Command-A to select them all (they should all be highlighted).  Then go to File>Export>Export vCard and save the file on your desktop.  Then email this file to yourself, open it on your iPhone and tap the attachment to import them back to your phone and to iCloud.
If you have multiple accounts on your phone you might want to first go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section) and be sure this is set to iCloud.  This will ensure that the contacts will be added to iCloud when you import them.

  • Getting photos back from iCloud Photo Stream

I just thought I would put this here as a way to fix at least one issue with iCloud Photo Stream. This was on my iPhone 4.
My kid plugged my iPhone into my wife's computer. It basically put all her information and set up on to my phone. I finally got it all set back up, but none of my photos or videos from photo stream were showing up on my phone. Everything else came back over, mail and contacts, but the photos did not show up. Usage showed that 2.5 out of my 5G still being used so it looked like they are there somewhere, they just wouldn't sync.
This is how I fixed it. At least somewhat. As of this time my videos have not come back yet, but they were rather large and it may take a while. I will try to update later as to whether they come back or not. All the photos are back.
    > I made sure that iCloud backup was ON, on the iPhone.
    > Turned off Photo Stream sync. This warns you that it will "Delete all photos on your phone". Make sure you dont have anything you care about on the phone currently. If you do, I would backup and then come back. Click Delete.
    > Turned Photo Stream back on.
    > Restart iPhone and plug in so it will be charging and make sure you have a wifi connection.
It may be that you should restart the phone before turning Photo Stream back on, but I actually turned it back on and then restarted. Anyways, this fixed this particular issue I had. Follow at your own risk .
I still think its ridiculous that you cannot view photo stream photos on iCloud.com. I really can't see paying for this service with the lack of features and bugginess.

Are you sure about the videos thing? I have 2.6G used on my iCloud account. The only things being synced were Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Bookmarks, Photo Stream and Find my iPhone. I only had 50 photos. There's no way that stuff takes 2.6G worth of storage space.
Secondly, I know all about backups. I do Apache webserver support for a very large university. But when something happens spur of the moment that you don't have control over, its very possible to lose stuff. I don't need to be quoted the manual. I was just trying to be helpful and share something that worked for me to get my photos back since there seem to be a large number of people with similar issues.
Frankly I find Apple's software to be extremely frustrating regarding iTunes and iOS. I have been in IT for 15 years and rarely have I found a software set that is so obtuse as iTunes and iOS. The error messages are NOT clear at all, the manual is equally muddy, and, for example in the case of a "Photo Stream" viewer in the iCloud.com, obvious features are COMPLETELY missing.  I cannot imaging actually paying for iCloud with the lack of features it currently has. For as much money and time Apple spends on researching device user friendlyness, I do not understand why their software is so UNuserfriendly.  I am NOT the only one with this opinion.

  • Getting music back from iCloud

Put my own cd's into iTunes library and tried to then put them on my new iPod touch to no avail.  Then my purchased albums are now all in iCloud and won't play on the iPod unless I download them and 'May incur charges'.  Can anyone advise on both problems please, getting desperate!

Go into the Contacts App in the iPhone, tap on the Groups button (top left corner), and make sure iCloud is selected there. Toggle it on and off to make it refresh.

  • How do you retrieve your numbers back from icloud if they disappear off your phone?

My mom has an iPhone and it has deleted her contacts twice now. We need to know how to get her contacts back from icloud onto her phone.

    Restore the latest backup.

  • All contacts gone after deleting old Outlook (exchange) mail account from iphone.  How to get contacts back?

I deleted an old company mail account and when doing so it deleted all the contacts on the iphone.  How can I get them back?  Can I do a restore where I import ONLY the contacts?  Or does Restore just overwrite everything?
When I connect my phone with itunes and go to the "Info" tab, it asks me if I want to "Sync Contacts with Outlook" where outlook is a choice from a dropdown menu.  The question I have is what contacts are stored on itunes, if any, and which way it will write them --->  phone to itunes or itunes to phone.  Since my phone contact folder is empty right now, I want to get these back from itunes.  I am hoping those outlook contacts are stored on itunes and can then be downloaded to my phone, but I do not want to do a complete restore as the last time the phone was synced was a long time ago and contacts will be lost.  If the sync writes an empty contacts folder onto itunes then the restore will not even be an option.  Just want to make sure I do not overwrite any contacts that are stored on itunes.
By the way, icloud for contacts was not on so I do not have that route of recovery.
    Help.

Exchange contacts exist only on the Exchange server, and are automatically deleted when the account is remove.  This is standard security policy of Exchange accounts.  They would not have been backed up to iCloud in any event.

  • Is there any way to get contacts back after them being deleted form iCloud?

My dad recently asked me to update his phone, so I plugged it into my computer to do so. For some reason just doing that resulted in his settings to change to have iCloud contact sync on. This resulted in our contacts syncing so his would show up on my phone and mine on his. He went on to delete all of my contacts from his phone, not realizing they were also being deleted on iCloud (therefore from my phone as well). I don't even understand why my contacts were not saved on my phone in the first place but all transfered to iCloud, but now they are gone from there as well. I tried restoring my phone from a backup on my computer a few weeks ago, however, this just restored everything else except for the contacts. So what I'm asking if there is any way to get contacts back that were ONLY on iCloud (because apparently apple doesn't realize saving something to a single place on the cloud isn't a good backup) but now are deleted. Does iCloud save this sort of information even after it is deleted?

The issue isn't that I need to restore the contacts from iCloud to my phone, it's that the contacts on my iCloud themselves have been deleted.
The contacts might be deleted from icloud.com, but if they were on your phone when you created your last backup, they can be restored from your backup by following the user tip.  The backup is separate from the data you see on icloud.com.
