Getting contacts from mobile phone onto iPhone

What is the best way to get my contacts from my mobile phone on to my iPhone. I assume I need to push my contacts from my mobile to my mac address book and then sync the iPhone - what steps must I take to achieve this [mainly in reference to pushing my current mobile phone contacts to my mac]?

Check with your cellular provider - the provider you are using with your unlocked iPhone for a method to export the contacts from your LG phone in a format that can be imported by Apple's Address Book.

I've seen a few posts similar to this, but I'm looking for a simple answer. I had a Samsung phone through AT&T with a sim card and have many contacts on there. I'd like to bring them into the iPhone but don't know where how to insert the sim card to do this. Can it be done and can I do it myself or do I need to go into a store? I see a slot at the top of the iPhone, but it's not obvious how to remove it from the device. Thanks.
If I do this, can I then synch to my Yahoo contacts or will this overwrite the contacts from the sim card of the previous phone?

I currently have a Verizon non-smart phone (LG Voyager). I plan on pre-ordering an iPhone 4S. How can I get my contacts on the iPhone 4S?

You will have to do it via either a computer or online storage such as Dropbox. You cannot transfer data directly from phone to iPhone.

I have an LG CU500V cellphone and a MacBookPro running Leopard. I've configured bluetooth and both devices recognize each other. I want to know if it's possible to import my contacts from my phone into Address Book. I've never used Address Book and haven't set anything up.

No LG phones are supported by iSync for true syncing, because they don't have the industry standard SyncML protocol for syncing.
However, if your phone supports the industry standard vCard format, you may be able to send vCards from the phone via Bluetooth, and then double-click the received file(s) to import into Address Book.
You'd need to consult your phone's manual for how to do that with your specific phone.

Not getting contacts from address phone when using Add Invitees in iCal

Until recently, i notice when i type in 'Add invitees' for any event, it does not retrieve contacts from my address book.
I am running 10.6.4 and ical version 4.0.1 (1374).

If you ran software update your system version should be Mac OS X (10.6.5), and iCal should be Version 4.0.4.
Try downloading and installing the Mac OS X v10.6.5 Update (Combo).

I have successfully transferred photos from my mobile phone into my iPhoto Library, however I cannot see or edit these in iPhoto. They have been transferred as Preview shots and are only viewable in Finder: /Users/aaronandjuliemuir/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Fiji Iguana with Max.jpg

First, always make sure that you are dealing with the same account on all devices. Then just turn contacts on in settings,iCloud.. You can always log into iCloud.com from a computer to see what is being synced there.
