Getting Cursor for Table control while scrolling
Hi Experts,
I am displaying 3 pages of records using table controls,
and when i double click on the record, i have to display some pop up based on the values present in the particular record,
this is done by getting the line number of the record using GET CURSOR LINE and reading the internal table with the index obtained from GET CURSOR LINE
This is working fine for one page. I am getting problem for more than one pages
i.e. if i have to validate for the 23rd record, it will be the second record in the second page, so i will get line number as 2nd instead of 23rd (using GET CURSOR LINE) and i will read the 2nd record in the internal table instead of reading the 23rd record.
This will lead to improper pop up messages.
So please let me know how can i catch/get the line number of particular record irrespective of number of pages.
Thanks,
Kavya
declare two variables to get line count and line index
data: wrk_linecnt(10),
wrk_lineindx(10).
get cursor line wrk_linecnt.
wrk_lineindx = <table control name>-top_line + wrk_linecnt - 1.

Set cursor position within table control while scrolling
hi,
Anybody can guide me how to set the cursor with in table control while scrolling down,normally it is going to first input filed.
Thanks and Regards,
palani.Hi Palani,
Could you please share with me what all you have done regarding get and set cursor. I am facing similar problem where
I have made a Z Table Control where i have given vertical and horizontal scrolling . Now when I scroll and try to select a row, then ZTABLE_CONTROL-CURRENT_LINE fetches line number not from the top, it fetches from the current top of ztablecontrol.
It is onlyy changing the value on scrolling, if i do not scroll table control then value is coming correct.
My requirement is whenever i select any row of ZTABLE CONTROL i need to get the curent line number from top. Please guide me what should i do.
Early reply will be rewarded.
Thanks. -

How can we get a Scrolling in Table Control while data uploading?.
Can anybody suggest me the way to put a scrolling in a table control while uploading the data?
Hello,
I dont think it is possible, anyways dont do it. It will make the program perfomance very bad. There is an indicator (little watch on the left hand side), that you can use, but it is better to dont do it. As I have told you the perfomance will be very bad.
CALL FUNCTION 'SAPGUI_PROGRESS_INDICATOR'
EXPORTING
percentage = 20
text = 'Uploading data'.
THAT IS THE FM. Use it after and before the upload.
Hope this helps

How to set cursor in table control?
I have a table control (Screen 300) to display invoice number and amount. For some checks we have around 200 invoices to be displayed. When user enters the invoice number in invoice text box and click on OK, it should highlight the invoice number and amount row or set the cursor position.
I have another problem.
Screen 300 is being called from Screen 200. When the user clicks on OK in 300, 300 is getting closed. Acutally it should be displayed with Cusor position or highlighted row.
I appreaciate your help ... ThanksI believe that you can use the SET CURSOR statement to do the first part of your requirement. Something like this should work:
SET CURSOR FIELD w_field LINE w_line.
Here's the info from SAP help:
Effect
: The cursor is positioned on the screen element whose name is contained in upper case in field. The data object field must be character-type and flat. The screen layout or a table control is scrolled in the display so that the screen element on which the cursor is positioned is visible. If the specified screen element is not found, the statement is ignored.
If the specified screen element is part of a table control or a step loop, the line of the table control or group of the step loop in which the cursor is positioned on the specified screen element must be specified using the addition LINE. For the data object line, the type i is expected. If there is no line or group for the value of line, or the addition LINE is not specified, the statement is ignored. The statement is also ignored if the addition LINE is specified and the screen element is not part of a table control or step loop.
I hope this helps.

how to write BDC coding based on Table Controls...
http://www.sap-basis-abap.com/abap/handling-table-control-in-bdc.htm
How to deal with table control / step loop in BDC
Steploop and table contol is inevitable in certain transactions. When we run BDC for such transactions, we will face the situation: how many visible lines of steploop/tablecontrol are on the screen? Although we can always find certain method to deal with it, such as function code 'NP', 'POPO', considering some extreme situation: there is only one line visible one the screen, our BDC program should display an error message. (See transaction 'ME21', we you resize your screen to let only one row visible, you can not enter mutiple lines on this screen even you use 'NP')
Now with the help of Poonam on sapfans.com developement forum, I find a method with which we can determine the number of visible lines on Transaction Screen from our Calling BDC program. Maybe it is useless to you, but I think it will give your some idea.
Demo ABAP code has two purposes:
1. how to determine number of visible lines and how to calculte page number;
(the 'calpage' routine has been modify to meet general purpose usage)
2. using field symbol in BDC program, please pay special attention to the difference in Static ASSIGN and Dynamic ASSIGN.
Now I begin to describe the step to implement my method:
(I use transaction 'ME21', screen 121 for sample,
the method using is Call Transation Using..)
Step1: go to screen painter to display the screen 121, then we can count the fixed line on this screen, there is 7 lines above the steploop and 2 lines below the steploop, so there are total 9 fixed lines on this screen. This means except these 9 lines, all the other line is for step loop. Then have a look at steploop itselp, one entry of it will occupy two lines.
(Be careful, for table control, the head and the bottom scroll bar will possess another two fixed lines, and there is a maximum number for table line)
Now we have : FixedLine = 9
LoopLine = 2(for table control, LoopLine is always equal to 1)
Step2: go to transaction itself(ME21) to see how it roll page, in ME21, the first line of new page is always occupied by the last line of last page, so it begin with index '02', but in some other case, fisrt line is empty and ready for input.
Now we have: FirstLine = 0
or FirstLine = 1 ( in our case, FirstLine is 1 because the first line of new page is fulfilled)
Step3: write a subroutine calcalculating number of pages
(here, the name of actual parameter is the same as formal parameter)
global data: FixedLine type i, " number of fixed line on a certain screen
LoopLine type i, " the number of lines occupied by one steploop item
FirstLine type i, " possbile value 0 or 1, 0 stand for the first line of new " scrolling screen is empty, otherwise is 1
Dataline type i, " number of items you will use in BDC, using DESCRIBE to get
pageno type i, " you need to scroll screen how many times.
line type i, " number of lines appears on the screen.
index(2) type N, " the screen index for certain item
begin type i, " from parameter of loop
end type i. " to parameter of loop
*in code sample, the DataTable-linindex stands for the table index number of this line
form calpage using FixedLine type i (see step 1)
LoopLine type i (see step 1)
FirstLine type i (see step 2)
DataLine type i ( this is the item number you will enter in transaction)
changing pageno type i (return the number of page, depends on run-time visible line in table control/ Step Loop)
changing line type i.(visible lines one the screen)
data: midd type i,
vline type i, "visible lines
if DataLine eq 0.
Message eXXX.
endif.
vline = ( sy-srows - FixedLine ) div LoopLine.
*for table control, you should compare vline with maximum line of
*table control, then take the small one that is min(vline, maximum)
*here only illustrate step loop
if FirstLine eq 0.

endif.

if midd = 0 and DataLine gt 1.
pageno = pageno - 1.
endif.
endif.
line = vline.
endform.
Step4 write a subroutine to calculate the line index for each item.
form calindex using Line type i (visible lines on the screen)
FirstLine type i(see step 2)
LineIndex type i(item index)
changing Index type n. (index on the screen)
if FirstLine = 0.
index = LineIndex mod Line.
if index = '00'.
index = Line.
endif.

index = LineIndex mod ( Line - 1 ).
if ( index between 1 and 0 ) and LineIndex gt 1.
index = index + Line - 1.
endif.
if Line = 2.
index = index + Line - 1.
endif.
endif.
endform.
Step5 write a subroutine to calculate the loop range.
form calrange using Line type i ( visible lines on the screen)

loopindex like sy-index
changing begin type i
end type i.
If FirstLine = 0.

Screen Variant for table control in FB60
Hi ,
I need to create variant to show Quantity and Base Unit of Measure columns in the table control which is available at the first screen of FB60 . I tried using the option screen variant - > create variant. i couldnt see the options of colmuns properties for table control on click that small icon available at the right conner. Pls guide.
ThanksIn transaction SHD0 you need to create a new variant.
After that you will be taken into FB60.
Press Enter as if you are trying to process vendor invoice. It will take you to a screen "Screen values 1100 Program SAPMF05A"
There you will have 3 columns Output only, Invisible and Mandatory.
Select as you want.
Just try out carefully, you will be able to get the desired result.
It is very difficult to guide you in details.
Please let me know if you face any problems.

How to handle the table control While working with LSMW?
How to handle the table control While working with LSMW?
its possible in lsmw,
Hi,
LSMW will have a Indicator for headr and itam, i do not remember the correct field, but it will have an indicator, check the fields, there will be a single charecter lenght field, that should be the indicator, and using that we can write the logic.
check that single charecter field, it that is X that means the header record is processed, and do the items.
and, this is another way, try this out also
YOu can do this in "Define Source Structures" step,
the HEADER is defined first,
then the DETAIL below the HEADER.
add the fields to the structures.
Both should have some common key field
Please take care that the name of the common field is the same.
Once you do this it is linked. The you have a header and item corresponding to that header. then run the LSMW as you would.

Set the cursor on table control
Hi All,
I am trying to create a table control.
Creation of table control is fine and i can update and save the records..But i am facing some strange problems.
When i close my program and rerun it, the Cursor will be position on the default field of last run.
How can we position the cursor on table control..Say to a particular row or columns?
Also i am not able to interpret the meaning of
Loop at itab with control control name cursor top_line/current_line.
Does this means that if you use top_line, cursor will be placed at the top line and when you use current_line , it will be placed at current line?
