Getting document.URL

Is there any way to call document.URL value from
actionscript, without any extra code included into website itself
(pure actionscript solution) ?

Nope.

  • How to get the url of the document in quick parts?

    I have document library in which there is one content type with the document template uploaded. In the footer of the document, I want to show the URL of the document which is opened in word application.
    Is there any way to get the URL? I am not able to see the field in Quick Parts while configuring footer of document template.

    Alexdu_,
    You can create a single line text site column in that content type to hold URL information.
    Create a SPD workflow to populate URL field using update field of current list.
    This custom column will be available as Quick part in word.
    This could be an alternate approach as URL is not available as quick part field.

  • Get original URL for Link to a Document content type

    Hello,
    I'm having a SharePoint doc library with ItemAdded event receiver attached to it and "Link to a Document" content type enabled. My general question is:
    How to get URL that the link points to?
    I'll show you how I'm trying to achieve that:
    SPWeb parentWeb = properties.Web;
    if (properties.ListItem.ContentType.Name == LinkContentTypeName)
    object urlFieldValue = properties.AfterProperties["URL"];
    if (urlFieldValue != null && urlFieldValue.ToString() != String.Empty)
    // continue
    But I always get null so I can't even get inside IF statement. I've tried to install ItemAdded event receiver as synchronous, but it didn't make a difference. I'd appreciate any ideas.

    Tomasz

    This is not very convenient solution, because ItemUpdated can be executed more than once. However this certainly will work, so I'll accept this as a workaround. Actually I've found another one. I'm parsing link aspx file and I'm getting the URL
    from mso:URL tag:

    I'm trying to read some XML data from temperature logger over my network.  I'm using LabView version 2009 sp1.  I'm using the URL Get Document Vi.  It works fine when using Internet sites like google or foxnews etc...
    When I use it with my temperature logger most of the time I get an Error 66...but some times it does work and actually retrieves the document.
    I can use the same address "http://172.22.21.68/XMLfeed.rb" (Internet Explorer or Google Chrome) in my browser and get a response every time.  When accessing from my browser the server in the temperature logger does take around 6 seconds to respond, but it does respond every time.
    Is the URL Get Document Vi exceeding a timeout?  If so, where can I set it to wait longer?
    Attachments:
    Error 66.jpg ‏183 KB

    It looks like the TCP Buffered Read has a 2.5 sec timeout, I believe that is where I had trouble as well.  Try creating your own URL Get HTTP Doc vi in which you call URL Get Document in normal mode, with an appropriate number of characters to fetch (enough characters so that you capture all the important data in the XML file).

  • How to timeout URL HTTP Get Document.vi

    I'm using URL HTTP Get Document.vi to read a file. But sometimes the other machine were is the url is down so the application freezes for a long time because is stucked in URL HTTP Get Document.vi
    How can I force that this Vi stops if cannot complete in some time?

    You would have to modify the VI to allow you to pass in a timeout value. The defult is 25 seconds. If you decide to modify the VI I recommend you make a copy of all of the HTTP VIs, place them in your user directory (or some other suitable place) and modify those VIs. Use those in place of the shipping VIs.

    Thanks for replying - unfortunately, there is not much
    support on these forums.
    I wish there was some way to emulate the mouse from

    would't even know, programmatically, the location on screen of the

    Here are the most common reasons this error can occur:
    The code is executed on a different machine - The SharePoint object model (except the Client API) requires to be run on the SharePoint server itself. It is not possible to run the application on a server which is not within the same
    SharePoint farm the code is trying to access.
    Insufficient Rights on the site collection - The code is executed in context of an account which does not have read permission on the site collection
    Incorrect Url being used - Verify that the site works correct in a browser and double check that the server is correct registered in the AAM settings
    Incorrect bitness - The SharePoint object model needs to be executed with the same bitness as the operating system. That means you cannot use the SharePoint object model in a 32-bit application if the Operating System and SharePoint
    are installed as 64-bit version. Ensure to compile the project using the correct bitness (64-bit on a 64-bit machine vs. 32-bit on a 32-bit machine)
    Incorrect .NET framework version -  Ensure that the project is configured to use .NET 3.5. .NET 4.0 cannot be used with the current versions of SharePoint
    from Mr.Stefan's post, i have checked with my code : as per the first reason: (1)
    i am running the code from my  SP 2013 machine only. but the only difference is that, i am using a  asp.net web appln and have added a SP references of 15 hive and trying to make a  lists.asmx file.
    also checked the reasons
    2,3 ,4 ,5 all are  fine from my end.
    here just wanna know: abt the below approach : whether its Correct or NOT.
    create a plain GetDocsWebService.asmx file from asp.net 3.5 framework and  write the code for retrieving items from doc.lib using SPSite, spweb, splists, xmldocument and retrieve a datatable . [[[ i have added a web reference of sp 2013 microsoft.sharepoint
    dll from  isapi folder, in this GetDocsWebService.asmx project ]]
    i deployed this web service on my SP server's  new iis site, c:\inetpub\wwwroot\GETDOCSPUBLISH  site
    now, at present , am adding a  normal asp.net 4.5 web appln and add the  web reference of this custom web service and trying to consume.
    at this point am getting mulitpl errors: like
    1) platform not supported : am stuck with this error!!
    2) sometimes, am getting document not valid...<html> <head> document not valid........</html>
    for the above 2 errorrs, i still could not able to find a solution!!
    is it because, lists.asmx is not supported in sp 2013? we need to depend on rest-api/ecma/csom ??
    so my question is ,  what should be the correct ad most recommended approach  for reading doc lib/ splist  records/items from a  remote macihne.

  • Sharepoint Workflow : how to get document full path + file name into variable?

    Hi,
    Anybody knows how to get document full path + file name into a variable in Sharepoint 2010 workflow?
    Example http://sp1:80/InvoiceQueue/Shared Documents/123.pdf
    I am using List Workflow which links to a document library.

    Hi SAMSUNG,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to get the full path of a document in a list workflow.
    You can set the variable to the Enconded Absolute URL of the document. The screenshot is my testing. In my testing (in the red area), when the title of a document was equal to the tile of the current item, set a variable to the Enconded Absolute URL of the
    document. I used ‘Log to history list’ to check the value of the variable in Workflow History .
    I hope this helps.

  • How to get full url using UCM RIDC api

    Hi,
    I am using RIDC api to get the full url of the document (including protocol, host, port info). I tried using DOC_INFO
    and GET_SEARCH_RESULTS api. The GET_SEARCH_RESULTS api returns the path but no protocol, host, port info.
    DOC_INFO does not contain any uri. Is there a way to get full url? I only have access to the idc socket connection
    configuration to connect to the server.
    E.g. I know the idc connection url is idc://hostname:4444
    The user supplies document name as "myDoc.txt" and dId = 2000.
    I used GET_SEARCH_RESULTS for myDoc.txt and DOC_INFO for dId=2000.
    I need to return absolute url to the user that user can copy paste in the browser and download the doc.
    Thanks,

    You can ge the docUrl using doc info services DOC_INFO or DOC_INFO_BY_NAME.
    dataBinder.putLocal("IdcService", "DOC_INFO");
    dataBinder.putLocal("dID", docId);
    ServiceResponse response = idcClient.sendRequest (idcContext, dataBinder);
    DataBinder respBinder = response.getResponseAsBinder();
    System.out.println("DocUrl"+ respBinder.getLocal("DocUrl"));

  • Editing documents ( URL / web linked documents )

    Hi,
    I'm trying to edit documents (uploaded files and urls) through the portal using the EDK.
    For uploaded files I have created a Portlet that uploads the replacement file and replaces the exisitng one in the filesystem on the server where portal is running before continuing to the properties screens where the user can update the document properties. This is working fine and documents are replaced.
    I want to provide a similar replace mechanism for URLs (webLinkedDocuments) and was wondering if there is a way for me to get actual url out of Plumtree for displaying in a form and is there a way of replacing it... without having to access/update this information directly in database tables?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    All the best,
    Richard

    Yes, I realize that, but previously all my Camino Internet location files opened in Camino, Firefox's in Firefox, etc.
    Like I say, it's not a big deal, but it does seem a little Microsoft-esque in the way it monopolizes the URL documents from OTHER browsers. They even have the other browser's icons, yet Safari claims them now.

    hi Dipti,
    there is no column which contains the ItemURL.
    if you want a colum to have url than you need to create a workflow
    which calculate the ItemUrl and store it in custom column
    use the below article to do this
