Getting duplicate iCloud invitations: In-App & Email

Hello,
On icloud.com I have the calendar prefrences setup so that I will get in-app notifations when I am invited to an event.  This works fine for me but I am also receiveing an email notifcation of the event even though I don't have that option selected in the icloud.com preferences.
Any idea how to stop getting the icloud emails??

You can use the built in email facility, note however that it will not allow you to send the email in the background.  The email message window will be displayed to the user, allowing them to edit the information you collected.  If you want to send email in background, you will need to use other libraries that handle SMTP (or write your own simple SMTP client).

  • HT204053 I changed my Apple ID (email address) to a new Apple ID (email address), but my iPhone is asking for my password on my old email address which has been discontinued, now I can not get into iCloud or add Apps because the old email and password do

I recently changed my Apple ID (to my new email address), but my iPhones are still showing my old Apple ID and are asking for my old password.  It no longer exists and now I can not add any Apps or get into iCloud because they previous ID no longer exists but that is what is popping up in Apple ID box and I cannot change it on the phone.  How do I get my new Apple ID assigned to my phone(s)?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If it's iCloud that is asking for these details:
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.
This article provides more information about Activation Lock.
If it's iTunes asking for these details:
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • HT4191 How do I get my iCloud off my husbands email and put on my email?

From my iPhone 4s my iCloud is in my husbands email. How can I change it to my email and info.

You could just use the search feature and find:

  • Why can't i send an icloud calendar invitation to an email with an apostrophe in it?

Please help! why can't I send an icloud invitation to an email with an apostrophe in it?

You are not doing anything wrong. Unfortunately, that's just the way that the built in mail app works. It really is a basic no frills mail app with not much to offer compared to other apps.
There are third party apps that let you create groups and email to those groups. I don't use either of these, but I've seen them recommended here in the past.

  • Mobile me account getting duplicate emails

i've set up mobile me accounts in mail and getting duplicates, triplicates and more of emails from mobile me... how do i fix this? checked if the email address is duplicated from the sender, but it is not.
any resolve is greatly appreciated- thanks!

I am a long time user. I have noticed it happening to me in the past day. I have made no changes to my account, so I think it is a glitch at MobileMe.

  • I get duplicate emails for iCloud since converting to iOS 5.0

Since upgrading to iOS 5.0 and converting from MobileMe to ICloud I get duplicate emails for same acount.  It's like a MobileMe account and a Icloud account...
Plus I don't have any "On My Iphone" calanders, reminders, contacts, etc..  Not sure but maybe related...
    Help please and thanks you!

My recommendation would be to go to iTunes on the computer, under LIBRARY find the APPS tab and at the bottom it should say 9 Available Updates. Click on this, then you can update them from iTunes. To get them on your phone, go to Settings > General > iTunes Wi-Fi Sync (if you have iCloud set up).

  • TS3988 I changed my Apple ID to my new email address successfully for the iTunes and App store but it won't work for iCloud and it won't recognize my password. I read that this can't be done. How am I supposed to get into iCloud?

I changed my Apple ID to my new email address successfully for the iTunes and App store but it won't work for iCloud and it won't recognize my password. I read that this can't be done. How am I supposed to get into iCloud? I plan on getting rid of my old email address which is my old Apple ID so how is that going to work?

Same question Wish someone had replied!
I changed my Apple ID to my new email and now cannot find any way to access icloud. Unfortunately I had allowed icloud to hijack my airbook files, so of course I am afraid I will lose them tomorrow when I exchange my iphone for a new one and cannot keep an icloud account i cannot access. What a poor sync system! Really atypical for apple!

  • Is it possible to download iOS  5 from one iMac and not get them totally wiped of apps and stuff. We have an iPad each and a communal email address and an iCloud address each. One iPad now is totally screwed up.

    Thank you for your reply.
I am somewhat new to iOS and OS having grown up with DOS and Windows. I am not familiar with IMAP and iCloud and I am not even sure which types of servers my various emails use.
The problem I would anticipate with iCloud is that (I assume) it would limit my access to data (including mail) on the iCloud to when I happen to be logged onto the internet. I also assume(?) that large files (photos etc.) would require some time to download whenever I wish to access them from whichever device I happen to be using (I hope I am wrong about this).
I have kept my devices to 500gb - 1TB for OS and 32gb - 128gb for iOS but since I have pretty slow WiFi (shared with DirecTV Whole Home and Netflix streaming) it is my impression that iCloud might be quite limited due to data transfer times.
Perhaps a factor would be that I have 2 DSL lines and my main DSL line is connected to two wireless routers (to also provide WiFi in a metal building that blocks WiFi and Cellular signals)
I may be totally wrong in my assumptions regarding iCloud. My mail is not so urgent that I need access to it instantly and I could wait until I had internet access or I can get it on my iPhone. My main concern with iCloud would be my data files (Word, Pages, Excel, Numbers etc.).
On the other hand, if I wanted to keep my 10,000 emails that would take up a lot of iCloud memory and I don't know how to measure how much storage it would take or how to move Hotmail or even iCloud mail to iCloud.
It may take me some time to figure this out.

Tell them to use "Plain Text" when sending you the email, not RTF. Or, get this:

  • ICal invites received by email instead of iCloud

My iPhone is sync'd with Microsoft Exchange using ActiveSync (let's say my email is [email protected]).  I signed up for iCloud using this same email. When somebody else who is an iCloud user sends me a calendar invite, [email protected] gets an email from iCloud with an .ics attachment instead of it showing up in the calendar inbox in iCal. In my phone settings, iCloud is turned on, but only for Calendar and Find My iPhone. The same people send me text messages and they go through as blue iMessages instead of plain old green text messages, so their phones obviously recognize that I am an iCloud user.
Any ideas why this is happening and how I might fix it?

    I have the same problem.
I just imported my Palm Date Book calendar into iCal. The appointments in October show the correct time. Those in November are off by one hour. Here in Toronto, we go off Daylight time at the end of October.
My question is, if I correct the appointments now, is iCal going to "correct" them again when the time change actually happens?
I see there are lots of unanswered questions on Time Zone problems with iCal. Seems to be an issue with deep roots in the program.

  • How to get an iCloud email address?

I want to get an iCloud email address (@icloud.com) for several reasons, among them:
To streamline my iCloud account access so only that email is associated with iCloud & its services.
To provide email between Apple (e.g. Apple Support) and myself
To be able to use Notes
Currently, I am using the same Yahoo email address for both iCloud and iTunes.
However, I wonder if I can give those up and replace them by the iCloud.com email address?
Some details: I got a new-to-me iPhone a few weeks ago, which was reset, and so the only apps
on it are the default iPhone apps. I have not added any apps. Therefore, I don't mind having to do
another reset as long as I save the few photos and some phone number contacts to a Vcard.
Could I create a new iCloud email address and use that exclusively after reseting the iPhone?
I could restore the contacts and photos from the computer.

What if I were to wipe the phone clean, and start from scratch, never using my current Apple ID at all, but then activate iCloud to get an @icloud.com email address?
Yes, you can do that - please see imp68's post here:
Re: I wish to transfer my Apple ID to a new iCloud account
If you do this, it's vital that you create a 'rescue address' which is a non-Apple address, because if you don't and something goes wrong with the account - for example if you forget your password - Apple can only contact you at the iCloud address which youy can't access.

I've seen the opposite issue.  My wife recieved an email with jpg attachments.  She couldn't see or print them on her iPhone 4S but they showed up fine in iCloud or in the mail app.  I had her forward the email to herself and then they showed up.  I assume there is an issue with how Apple is processing the attachments and resending causes them to get reformatted in a way that makes them easier to handle.
So yeah.  Seems like some bugs.  Hope Apple fixes them soon.

  • I am getting duplicate emails with roadrunner.

I am getting duplicate emails from roadrunner.  we've checked preferences and not having any success.

my .me email address which I don't plan on giving up
    That's fine.
On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud. Switch Mail off then back on.
Same with your iPhone. Tap Settings > iCloud. Swtich Mail off then back on.
    Restart the Mac.
Restart your iPhone.  Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Hopefully that will prevent duplications.
