Getting err = 3259 after 1/3 of podcast download

Since upgrading to 11.1.5.5  , I am seeing all podcasts I have in my download queue start, get about 1/3rd of the way done and then time out with a err = 3259 error.   Other forum posts suggest disabling firewalls - which I have tried , but this problem happens after a large part of any download completes.   This is the case for multiple downloads, different podcast ...
I have already uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes...
Suggestions?

    hey guys
I have a problem in iTunes. When I want to download a podcast (refresh it -> automaticly starts the downloads) I always get the error:
    +stopped (err = -3529)+ (translated from German)
I have no plan, how to solve this... I tried to deactivate may antivirus-program, but it wasn't the matter, neither my firewall.
I hope you can help me, because with google, I couldn't find anything.

  • Getting (err = -3259)

I've been getting (err = -3259) when trying to download some podcasts. The odd thing is that they download slowly for a few minutes then it gives me the error. Also I've tried shutting down my anti-virus and the windows firewall but it doesn't help. I've also unchecked simultaneous downloads also to no avail. Finally, I am using the newest version of iTunes. Some podcasts though work fine. Any Suggestions?

  • I keep getting Err = -3259

I have spent 2 days on the phone with Apple Support, although they are nice and located in the US they cannot solve my problem. I have been trying to update my Verizon iPhone 4 for over a week and each time I do I get Err = -3259 (timed out). I have unistalled all of my Apple software from my computer and reinstalled. I have also uninstalled my McAfee Total Protection prior to installing and still get the same error. Anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Me too - I've been trying to download a TV episode since Friday and it won't go past 3 mins - ordinary or HD. Never seen this before - can't delete file and 'check for downloads' keeps starting the download, then returning the same error message

  • When I try download new os 5.1.0 on my iPhone 4 I get this error message  "stopped (err = -3259)" after it has downloaded.  Has anyone had this problem and if so what is the fix.

When I try to download iPhone OS 5.1.0 on my PC I get this message "stopped (err = -3259)"and says it timed out at the server after the entire download.  I have tried 3 times, it takes about 8 min. to download the 790.7 MB file.  Has anyone had this problem and what is the fix?

  • Cant download iOS Developer Videos, getting err 3259

    Hi
I have tried to download some videos from the Apple site related to iOS Development but the download fails each time in iTunes with err 3259.
Have tried this on both my Mac Mini (Lion - Up to date and iTunes up to date) and Windows 7 machines.
Firewall is disabled on both systems.
Downloads of iPad apps etc works fine just not videos from the Apple Developer site, any help/pointers would be appreciated.
    Ta
    John

I would add that this error shows up only when trying to download a video from any of these 'Developer on iTunes' collections: WWDC 2009 Sessions, Mac Development Resources, iOS Development Resources and Safari Development Resources. There's no such problem for WWDC 2010-2012 (both SD and HD) videos

  • I am getting err-3259.

I have completely removed itunes and reinstalled the latest version.  I am running Windows 8, but have been receiving this error before on both my laptop and new desktop.  How do I fix this error.  The fix listed on this site is sorely out of date.

Success! By disabling all my Kaspersky anti-virus and firewall (reluctantly!) I finally managed to download (save not run) all of the ios5 update for my iPhone4. I am happy to report that it is now loaded and on my phone and working well. (For the record I was using iTunes ver 10.5 and Windows 7 Ultimate.)
Solution in my case: Shut down all anti-virus and your firewall during the download of the ios5 update on iTunes. (Switch it back on after the successful download!).
Problem solved. Hope this works for others. Signing off.

  • What is error 'err = 3259' ?

I cannot download the latest version of software to my ipad2 or my iphone4 I get this error message 'err = 3259'.

Normally indicates interference with the download by other software, usually antivirus/antispyware. Temporarily turn off ALL such software on your computer and try again.

  • I cannot get my podcasts to download anymore. It says err 3259. Also cannot get the new itunes update to download

I cannot get my podcasts to download anymore. It says err 3259. Also cannot get the new itunes update to download. Can anyone help. This has been going on for days.

Err 3259 means that the download has taken too long to respond. Are you sure your internet connection is okay? Have you tried powering your router off and then on again?

  • Downloading podcasts I get error = 3259

Recently I updated iTunes to version 7.5.0.20 and have had nothing but problems. Most recently when I try to download anything (music purchase, audio book, tv shows, audio/video podcasts) I'll get an error message that looks like this: stopped (err = 3259). An iTunes pop up window then tells me that the network connection has timed out.
If I repeatedly try to download something eventually I will get it, but I should not have to do that.
I have reinstalled iTunes more times than I can remember (upwards of 15 times)and that does not appear to be helping at all. Any thoughts on what is going on here?

THis just started happening for me after i moved to leopard, i keep getting the 3259 error, but the worst part is that i knocks out my router, and i have to restart it every time. i only use itunes for podcast, and some aren't even that big and it still happens. i went back to the previous version of itunes to see if that helped, but no luck there either. i also tried unchecked allow simultaneous downloads, it worked a for a little bit but then it started happening again.
i just cant figure out why it knocks out my router, i wouldn't be as ****, if it didn't do that.
I'm not a happy guy right now:(
if this helps...i use a belkin router and i have comcast internet. i'm a little hesitant to restart my modem... i have the comcast triple play and the last time i reset it (6 months ago) the modem died and i didn't have internet and phone service for a week:(
any help from APPLE would be much appreciated!!!!

  • Err=3259 downloading podcast

I've been subscribed to This American Life's podcasts for the last year. All was fine until about early December. I can no longer download the podcast manually or automatically, on my iPod touch or on my MBP.
I can download other podcasts and music ok. Haven't tried TV shows or movies. And, it seems like I'm the only one having trouble with this podcast.
If I try to download on my laptop, I get the following message under Status (when I click the Downloads tab on the left of iTunes): stopped (err=3259).
If I try to do it from my iPod, I get the message: "(name of podcast episode)" cannot be played on this iPod.
The only thing that I can think of that coincides with this time is that I enabled Homesharing on my AppleTV (2G) for the first time.
Shortly after that, I started having these problems and, incidentally, my less than 1-yr-old MBP died (failed hd). It's a wonder that I'm still an Apple fan...But these things might not be connected, of course.
I've searched the boards it seems that most of the resolutions are for PC folks.
    Here's what I've checked:
    - my firewall is not on
    - my OS software is newly installed (due to having to replace the hd)
    - my iTunes software is up to date
    - my iPod has the newest update
    - I don't have an antivirus program running
I've emailed Apple but no response...hopefully someone can help!! Thanks!

same here!!! ran diagnostics and everything checks out ok. nothing on my network/cpu has changed
