Getting Error -50 when syncing my iPod

I recently had to restore my 80GB iPod (synced with iTunes Windows) because songs I added to iTunes were inexplicably not being synced to the iPod. Also, I wanted to compress songs over 128Kb to AAC in order to fit more music on there. I did this after about 3 days of processing my music and syncing, there are a few songs that will not sync with iPod. I get the error 'iTunes could not copy the song "Om Lounge" to the iPod "Sonic Bubonic" because an unknown error occured (-50)". This disrupts the sync and I have to start it over again where it will start over, start processing a few more songs and then get hung up on that one again.
I tried reinstalling iTunes with no luck. Also, I attempted turning off the AAC compression but it complained about not having enough space. This didn't make any sense, unless it was going to try to sync my entire library again uncompressed.

I`m having the same error!!! plese help

  • I'm getting error -69 when syncing my ipod and all my songs aren't syncing onto my ipod?

I recently experienced errors 1602 and followed these (http://www.personalcomputerfixes.com/general-errors/how-to-fix-itunes-error-1601 -or-1602-when-restoring-an-iphone-ipod/) steps to fix it. After restoring my ipod, I tried syncing and only the songs I purchased on my ipod synced(except for 1 song for some reason). Syncing is when error -69 tells me I cannot sync my other songs onto my ipod. Any help with fixing this problem is appreciated.

  • Since I downloaded iTunes 11, I get a message when syncing my iPod that some of my songs were not copied because they are not authorized on this computer,  I go to Store Authorize This Computer, a message pops up telling me that this computer is already.

So I am unclear, did you purchase these songs or import them from a cd?
If you imported them and still have the CD try importing them again and see if they work the delete the others.
Or if you purchased from itunes re-dowwnload and see if they work. Maybe they are corrupted files and this should resove it.

    Try Googling "sync without iTunes".
There are free alternatives and there are not so free alternatives.
Btw, to check if AVG is causing the problem, you should uninstall AVG and not just "turn it off".
Also, can you describe how you go about uninstalling a program? For example, how did you "delete" iTunes?

  • Get error -69 when syncing iPod to Itunes

I just bought a new Ipod Nano (used to have an mini). I tried syncing it to my existing Itunes library but it said I had to upgrade to 7.0. So I did, and now when I try to sync it it doesn't copy it just gives me a -69 error "attempting to copy to the disk "Jo's Ipod" failed. An unknown error occured.
Im not sure if the problem is the new ipod, or the upgrade to the later Itunes...help. I was so excited about getting my new one and now it doesn't work.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Error message when syncing to iPod in iTunes 7.4.1

Has anyone updated to the newest iTunes, and get a strange error message when you try syncing your iPod? I upgrades to iTunes 7.4.1, and for some reason, songs that work perfectly fine in iTunes won't sync to the iPod. The message that comes up says something to the effect that that drive in the iPod can't be read from or read to.
    Any solutions?

OK, here's how I fixed my sync problem. First, when starting up iPhoto, press and hold down the cmd & alt buttons on your keyboard and this will bring up a dialog box, select all check boxes and hit rebuild. This will take some time so have a coffee or go and do something else, then when you come back, try syncing again in iTunes and the error message should be gone!

    Error 1 or -1
This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

  • After latest iTunes update I get error message when syncing:

"iTunes could not sync information to the iPhone "name" because a connection could not be established to the iPhone". Same for my iPad, same for both even after upgrading to IOS6.0. Any ideas?
I tried to carry out a restore on the iPhone but iTunes cannot back it up.
Is the latest iTunes broken? or is it just me?
I am on Windows 7 64 bit, Never had this problem till the latest iTunes update.

  • ITunes for Mac Error -50 when syncing iPod photo

OS X 10.5.4 iTunes 7.7 Getting error -50 when syncing photos to my 60G iPod Photo, music is synced but not alll checked photos. I have AppleTV and 2 iPhones that are synced with this computer and all 3 of those are synced properly. But this iPod is giving me fits. I have restored the iPod and re-synced to no avail. Are there any plists that are hidden that I can trash. I have read about keywords on photos causing it, but I have 19,0000 tagged photos and I can't look at each one for a corrupt keyword. I have turned on albums one at a time with no help. Seems like a sync is a sync iPhone, iPod, AppleTV. Why different results? I am trying to get the same photos as on iPhones (16G), and the Apple TV has all of my songs and Photos, so the keyword thing may be bogus info.

Hi! I am having the same problem...how did you fix it?
    Thanks!
