  • I get the message: "The connection has timed out" and can't get to my online banking

I get the message: "the connection has timed out" when accessing my online bankingsite. I never had this problem before loading Firefox. There are a few sites that give me this problem. I have cleared my cookies cache, cleared history cache, cleared my security offline storage,
    Nothing works.

I went to Norton and they were trying to help me, even to the point of removing Norton. They figured it was a firewall problem and I agree. They were not able to help me, but I shut the computer down, unplugged the modem and router, waited about 10 minutes and then started plugging everything in. It all works fine. I think the error message was cached in the memory and it needed to be reset to erase it.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi..
    Try a reset...
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    Then restart your iPad.
Hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears.  Slide to power off.  After it is off, press the power button to turn it back on.

I am having this problem too. I recently changed ISP b/c I wanted the iPhone, so I had to update my iTunes username to my Gmail account.
In fact, I logged in HERE using it as my new Apple Id... so it works!
But for some **** reason that is driving me nuts my iPhone will not connect to the iTunes store using my new Apple Id. It keeps saying my email has changed or is invalid and asks me to sign in to change it. So I do that, and it lets me in USING MY NEW Apple ID!!!! Then I go back out to the buy the App and the madness starts all over.
Come on Apple, do you want me to buy your apps, or what?

It was working fine and I had no problems, and then one day I tried opening a window and it froze. When I tried quiting the program my whole window went black. The x to the close the window doesn't work. The only option I have in my tool bar is Firefox and nothing happens when I try to quit firefox. Every time I try to shut down my computer Firefox prevents it. I haven't updated Firefox yet, so it's an older program, but only by a month or two. What's going on and how do I fix it?

This is the first time it's ever happened. I downloaded the new operating system for Firefox but I can't install it until the Firefox currently running on my laptop quits, which it won't.

    Hi 23Orchard,
If your iPhone is timing out when connected to your computer, it sounds like a connection issue.
Please try the things listed in
iOS: Troubleshooting USB-related alerts when syncing
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5254
Where one of the errors it addresses is
An alert messages indicates "iPhone has timed out" during syncing.

  • I have acquired a new modem usb modem for my computer which gets me on the internet fine but when I try to load a weg page in Mozilla it tries but always comes up with the error that the connection has timed out. Any Ideas? Thanks

It seems the browser will not let me connect even though the internet is accessed.

    Carmell-
When I've had a similar problem, it was because I was accessing the iTunes store from a device I hadn't used before, such as when I upgraded from an iPad 1 to the iPad 2.  It was a little confusing to me until I figured it out.
All I had to do was use the ID of my existing account and play along with the iTunes store.  As I recall, it asked for my password twice, and the security code from the back of my credit card.  After that, downloads proceeded as before.

  • IPod Update Error: The network connection has timed out.

I have an iPod Touch second gen and am trying to update it from software version 2.1.1 to 2.2.1. Every time I try to "Download and Install" the new update, it downloads all the way but then an error pops up(picture below). This error also occurs if I try and use the "Download only" option. I have made sure I have iTunes version 8.1.1. I have also uninstalled iTunes completely and reinstalled. This error continues to pop up.
    Thanks in advance.

i also had this problem, that can happen if you are using the wrong internet. At my house we use a land line so i had to go to my work office and use the wireless. if you research it will tell you that you have to update on a certain internet

  • I'm getting "The connection has timed out" when I try to connect to one specific website. I can connect to the site using Internet Explorer. Help?

As suggested by Firefox, I cleared my history and cache. I also downloaded and ran one of the Firefox recommended malware applications. I also removed Firefox from my firewall and then added it back as suggested by Firefox. I have no problem accessing the site using Internet Explorer.

Thanks jscher2000. Yes, in Safe Mode I was able to go the site. I read the possible ways that Firefox suggests to try to fix the problem, i.e., go through all my extensions to find the problem or reset Firefox to the original factory settings. Where do you suggest I go from here?

I had the same, frustrating problem, then happened onto a process that worked for me. I wrote it up in the following post: https://discussions.apple.com/message/16900190#16900190
Hope that works for you, too.
