Getting error while running Oracle universal installer to run the deinstall

I am running oracle universal installer to run the deinstallation process and getting an error "java runtime environment was not found at C:\TEMP\OraInstall2011-11-14_01-31-42PM\jre\bin\javaw.exe hence oracle universal installer cannot be run. Please visit www.javasoft.com and install jre 1.3.1 or higher and try again"
Is there any workaround for this?

This is regarding an issue while trying to unistall Fusion middleware (11g forms, reports) from the server.

  • Mandrake Linux 8.0 - can't get Oracle Universal Installer to run

    Hi all.
    I'm having trouble getting Oracle's Universal Installer to run.
    I'm trying to become DBA certified, so I went and purchased
    (among
    other materials) a book titled "Oracle8i for LINUX Starter Kit",
    authored by Steve Bobrowski, published by Oracle Press / Osborne
    McGraw-Hill, ISBN 0-07-212442-3.
    The book includes a CD-ROM with Oracle8i Enterprise Edition,
    Release 2, version 8.1.6 for LINUX.
    I'm running an Intel P-III 500 MHz with 512MB RAM, 30GB hard disk
    exclusively configured for Linux (no other O/S on it) and Oracle
    (so LOTS of hard disk space is available), Matrox Millennium G400
    video card (32MB).
    My hardware exceeds all requirements listed in aforementioned
    book, and also in Oracle's own documentation (from their web
    site).
    I'm running Mandrake's Linux 8.0, PowerPack Edition, with:
    kernel = 2.4.3
    XFree 4.0.3 (and I've also tried 3.3.6, with identical results
    to those listed below)
    glibc 2.2.2
    I've followed the book's instructions to the letter, and set up
    the environment variables, oracle user, and subdirectories as
    required.
    So far, so good.
    OK. Now, here's where the problem appears:
    I log in as the oracle user, and try to start the Oracle
    Universal Installer (following the instructions in the book)
    as follows:
    cd /mnt/cdrom
    ./runInstaller
    The computer tries to do some stuff, then spews the information
    listed at the bottom of this posting to the screen. I press
    <ENTER> after "OK" and get dumped back to the bash prompt.
    That's it. I can't go any further. No Oracle Universal
    Installer.
    By the way, I've also downloaded Oracle8i Enterprise Edition
    Release 3, version 8.1.7 from Oracle's website, and tried to
    install that, too. Exactly same results.
    The nice folks at Oracle have politely told me to get lost,
    and not bug them for unpaid support.
    I'd really like to get this stuff up and running, so I can
    start studying and practicing for DBA, but I need help 'cause
    this problem is beyond me.
    So... can anyone help??
    Thanks in advance.

    I have Mandrake 8.0 on PII-600, 256 RAM. I used the downloaded
    8.1.7. Edit JRE_LOCATION in Disk1/install/oraparam.ini to point
    to your version of JRE 1.1.8 v3 (JRE from
    http://www.backdown.org). Then try with NUMLOCK=OFF.
    I just clicked the 'typical' installation. It failed at the end
    and did not install the database manager. The error message was:

  • Cygwin X Server to run Oracle Universal Installer

    Hi,
    I used to run Oracle Universal Installer on my unix server using an Exceed X Server on my Windows laptop. Recently my laptop was upgraded to Windows 7 and I can no longer use my version of Exceed on this version of Windows.
    Therefore I was going to try and use the freeware Cygwin X Server on my laptop instead.
    I connected to the Cygwin X Server site http://x.cygwin.com/ - I wasn't sure what to download, so I downloaded the following using their setup.exe program ( which gets downloaded to my windows pc )
    - X Console
    - Xhost
    - Xinit
    - Xorg Server
    - XTerm
    Q1. In order to run the Oracle OUI, I am not sure I needed anything other than Xorg Server - is that correct ? I am not really sure what the others do
    Q2. I was surprised when I downloaded these components they were supplied as packages with an extension of *.tar.bz2. To me these are components you would not / could not install onto a windows pc ?
    All I am simply trying to is - to run an X Server solution ( in this case I was hoping Cygwin ) on my pc, set the $DISPLAY ( as approrpiate ) on my backend unix server, launch the OUI on the unix server and have the OUI appear on the X Server running on my pc.
    But alas I am a bit stuck around getting the correct Cygwin X Server solution for my pc
    Any ideas where I am gong wrong ?
    thanks,
    Jim

    thanks,
    JimAs sb alluded to by giving a link to the site, you can use xming as your x-server. It's free, lightweight, and drop-dead simple to install. No bells and whistles. Just a solid x-server.
    And once I discovered x11 port forwarding, I no longer even have to set DISPLAY to match the ever-changing DHCP-assigned ip address of my pc. I use PuTTY as my ssh client, and configure the session to allow x11 port forwarding. I can't remember the last time I had to monkey around with DISPLAY.

    Hi Fahad,
    I am sorry I am not sure what the solution to your issue is. However, I was wondering why you are not attempting to install Oracle 10g as opposed to 1.0.2.2.2?
    I am guessng here but perhaps the 10g database is incompatible with a 1.0.2.2.2 install.
    Hopefully someone else may be able to provide more useful feedback.

    - Server name

    When I run the runInstaller for the iASv2linux.cpio.gz file, I have the following error :

    "Oracle9iAS installation has detected that the Entreprise Manager Website is running on this system. Install cannot continue unless the Entreprise Manager Website is shut down ..."
    So, there 's no oracle process on my server, and when I try to stop it with emctl stop, I have a "connection refused".
    Thank you for you help.
    Patrick.

    Hi there!
    For a lot of RedHat/Oracle Configuration issues you may want to refer to http://www.puschitz.com/ .
    I had the same problem on SuSE Linux 9.1 installing Oracle 9i and they cause some headaches. If I remember correctly, it boils down to:
    - export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1
    - install compatibility libraries, then runInstaller
    - [I had Oracle 9.2.0.1]: ignore the linking errors (or try to fix them by running the makefiles on the command line, i.e. make -f ins_rdbms.mk install)
    - install the latest patch from metalink
    - Linking should now succeed
    Hope that helps,
    Martin

  • I am getting error while accesssing Oracle database

    i am trying to learn by playing around with '
    MORTGAGE LOAN APPLICATION.
    in database i have taken oracle.
    when i try to fire following query:
    select * from customer where custId={$ /process_data/@custId $}
    i am getting following error:
    Exception: Internal error.. Cause: ALC-DSC-000-000: com.adobe.idp.dsc.DSCRuntimeException: Internal error.

    Mehul
    I've not worked with Oracle but I'll give this a shot. Try the following:
    1) If the database you are querying is transcational, add the text (without quotes) "WITH (NOLOCK)" as part of your FROM clause. It may be possible for your DBAs to have set that any queries run without this to be rejected since it would result in locking the table.
    2) I assume, by your query, that custId is of an integer type but if it is varchar (String) then make sure to put your single quotes around the parameter afte the '='.
    I would ask the following:
    Where are you firing the query from? Are you doing it as part of a webservice the form is connected to or are you doing it inside Workbench using one of the JDBC services (or another means)?

No harm, your database created just fine, but probably didn't configure listener.ora, sqlnet.ora, and tnsnames.ora. Just run netca and finish the tns confiiguration.

  • Getting error while Calling Oracle Stored Procedure with output Parameter

    HI All,
    From long days i am working on this but i unable to solve it.
    Even i have studied so many forums in SAP but i didn't find the solution.
    I am calling Oracle Store procedure with 3 inputs and 1 output without cursor.
    Store Procedure:-
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE PDS.send_rm
    IS
    proc_name           VARCHAR2(64) := 'send_rm';
    destination_system  VARCHAR2(32) := 'RAWMAT';
    xml_message         VARCHAR2(4000);
    status_code         INTEGER;
    status_message      VARCHAR2(128);
    debug_message       VARCHAR2(128);
    p_ret               INTEGER;
    BEGIN
      DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE( proc_name || ' started' );
      xml_message := '<RAW_MATERIAL>'||
                     '<BAR_CODE>10000764601</BAR_CODE>'||
                     '<MATERIAL>1101448</MATERIAL>'||
                     '<VENDOR_CODE/>'||
                     '<PRODUCTION_DATE>0000-00-00</PRODUCTION_DATE>'||
                     '<EXPIRE_DATE>0000-00-00</EXPIRE_DATE>'||
                     '<BATCH/>'||
                     '<PO_NUM/>'||
                     '<MATERIAL_DESCRIPTION>POWER SUPPLY</MATERIAL_DESCRIPTION>'||
                     '<SPEC_NAME/>'||
                     '<STOCK_CODE>BSW-JH</STOCK_CODE>'||
                     '<INSPECTION_LOT>00</INSPECTION_LOT>'||
                     '<USAGE_DECISION_CODE/>'||
                     '<MATERIAL_GROUP>031</MATERIAL_GROUP>'||
                     '</RAW_MATERIAL>';
          dbms_output.put_line('XML '||xml_message);
    --      vp_interface.load_rawmat@cnprpt1_pds(SYSDATE, destination_system,
    --                   xml_message, p_ret);
          vp_interface.load_rawmat(SYSDATE, destination_system,
                       xml_message, p_ret);
          dbms_output.put_line('Return Code '||p_ret);
          COMMIT;
    EXCEPTION
      WHEN OTHERS THEN
        status_code := SQLCODE;
        status_message := SUBSTR(SQLERRM, 1, 64);
    --    Extract_Error_Logger(proc_name, 'LOCAL', SYSDATE, -999,
    --                         status_message, 0, debug_message);
        ROLLBACK;
    END send_rm;
    And while i am calling this Store procedure in MII, I am facing error.
    I have tried different ways but didnt solved
    In SQL Query, i kept mode as: FixedQueryOutput
    Can anyone tell me or send code for calling above store procedure
    And onemore thing, While creating store procedure in Oracle for MII. Do we need to Create output parameter as cursor or normal.
    Thanks,
    Kind Regards,
    Praveen Reddy M

    Hi Praveen
    Our wrapper was created because we could not modify the procedure we call (it was not returning a cursor).
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE CHECK_PUT_IN_USE
    (STRCMPNAME in varchar2,
    STRSCANLABEL in varchar2,
    RCT1 out SYS_REFCURSOR
    AS
      charDispo          Char(1);
      charStatus          Char(1);
      intCatNo          Integer;
      charCatDispo     Char(1);
      strCatQual          VarChar2(2);
      strCatDesc          VarChar2(30);
      strMsg          VarChar2(128);
    BEGIN
    qa.check_put_in_use@AR(STRCMPNAME,
                                              STRSCANLABEL,
                                              charDispo,
                                              charStatus,
                                              intCatNo,
                                              charCatDispo,
                                              strCatQual,
                                              strCatDesc,
                                              strMsg);
    OPEN RCT1
    FOR Select charDispo,charStatus,charDispo,charStatus,intCatNo,charCatDispo,strCatQual,strCatDesc,strMsg from Dual;
    END;
    Hope this helps
    Regards
    Amrik
    then with a FixedQueryWithOutput
    call mixar.qasap.wrapper_update_put_in_use('[Param.1]','[Param.2]',[Param.3],?)
    Hope this helps.

    Hi ,
    I am trying to create a new web app using Central Administration in Sharepoint 2010 and getting an error "The password supplied with the username  was not correct. Verify that it was entered correctly and try again".
    I tried running this command also "stsadm -o updatefarmcredentials -userlogin <domain\username> -password <newpassword>" but when it got executed it showed me "Access Denied".
    What should i do ??
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards, Anurag

    HI,
    right click on command icon and click run as administrator then use above stsadm commend to update credential. If still you face same issue then try with powershell as mention in below link: (make sure that you open sharepoint powershell as run as administrator)

  • Oracle Universal Installer gives a fatal error

    Hello,
    When I start the Oracle Universal Installer to install the Oracle Developer Suite (10.1.2.0.2) I get a Microsoft Fault Report, so the installation will abort.
    I had removed first the Oracle installation via the same wizard and then clean up my registry.

    Ok, I have found the problem: The installer can't write to c:\documents and settings\pieter\local settings\temp\...
    The error is like this: "error in writing to c:\documents and settings\..."
    Many users that install Oracle have this error (check google) but I can't find a solution :(
    Anyone?
