Hi,
have you checked note 762696 "Grey rating for Earlywatch Alert"? Did you see any errors in the SDCCN data collection log in the satellite system?

    Hi Sunil,
Please check that you have run the Managed System Configuration using solman_setup. This step is important, especially if you had just updated your Solution Manager system.
Do you have the correct data in the Workload Analysis?

  • Showing Grey Colour on EWA session only for PI systems

    Hi,
I have a strange issue when I try to generate EWA report for PI systems. For all other systems the reports are generated fine and in PI systems are exactly the same configurations as in other systems. I want to let you know that in PI systems in SDCCN there I have scheduled Sessions Refresh with target RFC destination SM_<SID>CLNT000_BACK (Solution Manager) and  Maintenance Package  with target RFC SM_<SID>CLNT000_BACK (Solution Manager). After Maintenance Package  is running this generate one session number being send to Solution Manager. I think the configurations in satellite systems are ok (PI systems), but in solution manager after I start to process the data I get one report generated with grey color and only two pages. Do you know which will be the reason? Also I checked note 727998, and this didnu2019t help me.
    Thank you,

    Hello Mahesh
The main technical difficulty is the fact that many a email servers reject HTML content as a attachment. Plus the fact that the EWA report uses IGS services if opened as a HTML page will fail all the time since the email is not connected to the IGS server of the Solution Manager.
Hence a mail body is created instead of a attachment.
I hope that you now understand the technicality of the issue.

  • EWA Report show wrong details

    Hi All,
As per EWA report we have upgraed our oracle version 11.2.0.2 to the latest oracle SBP and has done all the steps as given in the readme document which is from market place.
After that we have generated the EWA report but still for the database performance point  it gives below recommendation.
But still, in the EWA report we are getting below recommendation.
    13.4 Oracle Release
    Release Recommendation
11.2.0 We recommend that you install the latest Oracle patch set as
soon as possible (refer to SAP Note 415900). Check SAP Note 1431799
regularly for the latest patch set for Oracle 11.2.0.
Note that in addition to the patch set, further bug fixes may be
available and recommended. Refer to the following SAP Notes:
Patch set SAP Note number Description
    11.2.0.2 1503709 Oracle 11.2.0: Patches / Patch collections for
    11.2.0.2
Our concern is why after applying the latest SBP on oracle 11.2.0.2 still we are receving the same message.
    It this only for information?
    Can somebody help to understand.

    Hello,
If you are back on ST-SER 701_2010_1 SP05, you need to ensure that the Service Content is up todate.
Check in AGS_UPDATE. If there are any updates to be downloaded or Activated, please do so.
BEfore you replace the sevice defintions, check if there have bene any issues witht he refresh defintion task...you can see this int he maintenace package SDCCN task on the managed system. If it is not encountering errors and is running, then the system should have good curent defintions. But if there have been problems with the tasks at all it may be worthwhile.

  • Cannot load EWA report

    Dear All,
i have configure for EWA report but the report still not give reported for each satellite system in Solman. one week ago we receive msg from SAP that give us Red Alert for our Production systems, this mean that solution manager for EWA is working. but the problem is the report cannot load the EWA report for every systems in Solman. anyone can help me please...
    Thanks

make sure you configured your satellite system properly in SMSY and the RFC are working, also the BACK RFC from satellite system to SolMan.
Goto SDCCN in your satellite system and make sure that a EarlyWatch is scheduled which sends data to your SolMan SID (not OSS!!). This can only be achieved by having a "Request Session Data" Report which has a 10* session and not a Z* session.
If this is not the case :
    1) delete your EarlyWatch Schedule in Satellite system via SDCCN
    2) unschedule your task processer
    3) make sure the installation number in SMSY (SolMan) is correct - same like in satellite system
    4) recreate via "Maintain service definitions" your SDCC_OSS connection
    5) reschedule the task processer job.
    6) recreate a new EarlyWatch Alert for Solution Manager which sends data to your SolMan.
If you have defined your SolMan as the Master for SDCCN (done via SMSY / Menue: Environment / Solution Manager Operation /  Administer SDCCN) you just have to schedule "EarlyWatch" instead of 6., this should automatically generate "EarlyWatch Alert for Solution Manager "

  • Monthly EWA Report.

    Hi SolMan Mentors,
Currently we are using SolMan7.0 SPS15. I would like to know whether we can reschedule the EWA report occurrence monthly rather than weekly(default).
When I check DSWP --> Settings --> Solution Monitoring --> EarlyWatch Alert --> the period column is disabled for changes. Is there somewhere we can make changes to get EWA report monthly rather than weekly?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Hari

The frequency and reported time frame of the EarlyWatch Alert itself
can not be changed. In SAP Solution Manager however you have the
option to create a 'Service Level Report'.
The Service Level report uses the data from the individual EWA sessions
that have been executed for the satellite(s) and combines them into
    one report.
This can be customized. You need to enter the solution -> Operations
Setup -> Solution Monitoring -> Service Level Reporting ->
Setup Service Level Reporting. Following this path you will enter the
'Set up session' where you can set your customizing via the various
checks in the check tree. Check 'Specify SL Reporting' is where you
can choose if you wish to set up a a 'standard' report or 'some other
name'. The 'standard' report has a weekly frequency.
To be able to choose a different frequency enter a self-chosen
different name to indicate a 'non-standard' report. Save.
In the next check "General Settings for SL Report Standard" in tab
'scheduling of SL report' you can
customize the frequency of this report.
Note that if you choose 'monthly', the SL Report can not be created
until the last EWA covering the last day of the previous month
has run. For example: the EWA covers the ST03 data of the calendar week
prior to the data collection. Ie data for 'Monday June 30 2008'
    can at the earliest
be contained in the EWA data collection executed Monday July 07 20087.
So the SLR for June 08 can at the earliest be executed when that last
EWA data collection has been processed ( normally on Tuesday morning via
the next job SM:EXEC SERVICES. )
The checks in the session have text explaining further customizing
options. You can also find documentation in the online help and
the IMG , under 'Solution Monitoring'.

  • EWA report: didnt send to SAP!!! Help Please

    Hi experts,
All of my servers generated EWA reports, but it did not sent to SAP. I have the checked mark to send to SAP.... It was working fine. one of my team members, he deleted all the jobs and scheduled em again.... which perticular job do I need to schedule to send to SAP? I thought this is the job that needs be schedulled >>> "SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP_TO_SUPP". this job is working fine. Other than that, I dont understand why it didnt send to SAP?
    Please help.
    Thanks in advanced!!
I will post points for sure!!

    Hi Afi,
Kindly note the sequence of steps to be done for EWA generation.
    1. Setup of the Server, database and system in transaction SMSY.
    2. Generating the RFC's for the System and ensuring that the trusted
    RFC works.
    3. Adding the system to a logical component and assigning the logical
component to a Solution Landscape created in DSWP.
    3. Setting up of EWA from the Solution Settings from the operations
    setup in DSWP.
    4. Configuring the SDCC / SDCCN on the satellite system (see note Note 763561 ) and adding the Solution Manager RFC to the SDCC settings.
    5. Refreshing of sessions via the SDCCN transaction on the Satellite
system. This can be automated via the Auto session Manager Report.
    6. Processing of the session and sending the collected data to Solution
    manager.
    7. Processing the collected data in the Solution Manager System and
    generating the EWA Report.
if helpful reward points are appreciated

  • EWA reports in grey colour

    Dear friends,
I have a problem with the EWA reports.
It shows me grey colour - Rating not Determined (Gray) - SAP EarlyWatch Alert
The EarlyWatch Alert session is not executed due to critical data quality issues.
Check the data quality in the 'Service Preparation and Service Data Quality' section.
    Alert Overview
DB load from expensive SQL statements cannot be measured due to missing SAP Note 1564508.
SAP Note 1564508 is completely implemented.
I tried to create a new report, following the steps:
The session is waiting for data from a managed system. Data transfer can take up to one day.
You can also send the data manually.
In the managed system, start the Service Data Control Center (transaction SDCCN).
Choose Task -> Create. The system displays a task overview.
Double-click Refresh Sessions. A dialog box appears. You can define the attributes of the task.
To start processing the task immediately, select Now in the Scheduling area.
In the Target RFC Destination field, select the RFC connection that points to your SAP Solution Manager system.
    Choose Run Task Once.
Confirm your entries. The task appears in the To do view and is marked for processing. When the Session Refresh task has been processed, a new task with the appropriate session type and session number appears in the To do view. This task collects and sends the data for your session. If a new task does not appear, search in the task-specific log for errors that ocurred during the Session Refresh task and make any necessary corrections.
To start the task immediately, select it and right-click to call up the context menu.
Choose Start Now. When the task has been processed successfully, it appears in the Done view. The data has been sent to your SAP Solution Manager system. You can check this in the task-specific log.
Task finishes OK, job finishes OK. but when going back to the main page of EWA, I still see the hourglass, with the message : WAIT FOR SESSION DATA; SAP EARLY WATCH ALERT.
    Job finished ok in sm37.
Is it normal that if the task is finished in SDCCN to still have the hourglass ?
    What do you advice ?

    Hello,
Externally the EWA is rated...i.e. in DSWP, correct?
However when you open the report, the Summary Overview has a grey traffic light.
Is this the grey ratting you are talking about? This is a recent problem.
One other thing to check is if the Host names appear in both upper and lower cases as this is also related to the Grey Overview Traffic Light.
The first thing you should check is AGS_UPDATE and ensure all updates are downloaded and activated as there was an SCU ( Service Content Update) that went out recently to address this problem.
If you find your Service Content is rated all green and you are up to date, and an Ad Hoc EWA generates the same way, then you need to check the recommendations in 'Service Preparation and Service Data Quality' section, because there make be issues with the collectors ST06, SAPOSCOL, etc, that need to be resolved.
Oddly many people don't read and act on the recommendations given in the EWA reports when there are alerts, and  many times, the solution is being offered right in the recommendation, be it a check to make or a note to reference, so make sure you review any recommendations on the alerts closely.
    Regards,
    Paul.

  • Showing Grey Colour on EWA session

    Hi,
When iam creating EWA i did all settings in satelite systems.after that in my solution manger its showing the before  EWA session showing grey colour(showing only 2 pages).in right side i cliked genrated word report its showing only 2 pages.what could be the reason for this.

    Hi David,
    We too in same race.
As mentioned in note 762696, I found that EWA is scheduled for the same date to both of our Satelite System(DEV - System ID) as well as the Solution Manager System(SMD - System ID).
So i manually actiavted the task of EWA(EarlyWatch Alert for Solution Manager) of SMD.
But the log ends with more warnings. The same list of warnings we get at my Satelite System(DEV) also.

  • Getting the old EWA reports

    Dear Forum,
I had a problem with the EWA reports on our Solman from the satellite systems. It got a syntax error, since solman tried to execute the session that was obsolette. Then I got a solution by refreshing service definision as in the note 727998. For the first trials I did it on one of the satellite systems and the solman. It worked and I was able to get the old EWA that failed before.
Now there are still some old EWA on the satellite systems that were not sent to solman, yet. I have tried to send them by executing send session data in SDCCN, but nothing came to solman. It is a solman 3.2. The weekly EWA works fine, the sessions are ready on the satellite systems.
So, my question is how to get the old EWA reports that generated by the old session?
    Regards
    Agoes

    Hi Mathias,
    Thanks for your reply.
Andy Lam from OSS helped me with this solution:

    Hello Agoes,
Move your mouse pointer to the grey diamond icon and there will be a
    popup of the session no.
Copy it down and goto txn DSA -> Selected Session -> put in the session
    no. -> enter
Double click on the session number and on the left panel, right click
on the "EarlyWatch Alert" -> Session Components -> Reset.
Then double click on "EarlyWatch Alert" -> EN language
Then the system to try to regenerate the report again.
If this still comes out with the Grey Diamond status, please kindly
revert this message back to me and I will have my SV-SMG-SDD colleague
    to look into it.
    Thanks & Best Regards

I recently purchased songs from my iphone.  All good...  But I then went to put them on my ipod touch.  They seemed to have downloaded but the songs wont play and the song title/the text, appears in a grey colour and there is a downlaod symbol in front of the song title.  what do i do next??  They play on my iphone and from the itunes library but not from my ipod touch.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

  • Grey (blank) EWA reports generated for Portal systems

I am attempting to set up EWA reports for J2EE systems. At this stage despite all efforts I continue to get grey rated (blank) reports generated for our Portal systems.
As far as I can tell all required components are installed correctly (Wily, SMD server, SMD agents etc).
This problem seems to be restricted to our Portal systems as report data is being generated for our XI J2EE engines with the same SMD components installed.
CGA collection jobs are running successfully against the managed Portal systems, and I have attempted to manually generate reports via transaction DSA in the Solution Manager system, using an uploaded service data xml file generated with the SMD/services utility. This also results in a blank report.
Our systems comprise the following components:

Among many, many others, the following notes and documentation has been followed:
976054 Availability of EWA for Non ABAP components
    1010428 End-to-End Diagnostics
762969 - Grey rating for Earywatch Report
    EWA guide for NON-ABAB components
SAP Solution Manager 4.0 End-to-End Root Cause Analysis Installation Guide
762969 - Grey rating for Earywatch Report
And of course all the Wily & SMD installation guides.
Please let me know if there is any other information required. I'm posting this in the hopes that someone else has had this problem and has been able to resolve it. I have read though what seems like hundreds of threads on SMD setup problems, however not many that describe the problem I'm having exactly.
    Many thanks in advace.

    Hi Stephan,
You're on the right track! When I try manually generate reports for our XI systems via uploaded service data, I only get valid report data if I generate report with graphics - otherwise the report is blank.
Alas with the Portal systems, I get no report data either way.
The XML storage table does contain data (with XI & Portal systems) - so comms with the J2EE is working.
    Thanks for your help.

I have migrated the server to another system with different SID, and then upgraded the system to solution Manager 4.0, with sp11,
Oss Note 762696 has been followed, but I still have grey EWA report.
    any insight or suggestion ?
    thank you,
