Getting faded horizontal lines on pics

Just installed a new color cartridge (even though printer did not say old one was empty) trying to solve this problem.   Top 1/3 of photo prints fine, but bottom 2/3 has orangish horizontal lines running through it.  Subsequent printings improve slightly, so I figure a jet is clogged, but I find no information on the HP website about how to clean them.  I removed the cartridges and stuck a paper towel down there and removed some black sludge (some seemed to be broken-down foam), but no improvement from that.  How do you clean the inkjet heads on this printer?

The printheads on the cartridges used in the Officejet 7210 printer are built into the cartridges.  The symptoms you described sound like what could happen if you have old cartridges (even if jus taken out of the box).  Check the "Warranty ends" date on the back side of the package in the lower right corner, or see the date printed on the cartridge as shown in the document here.
You can clean the printheads as shown in step three of the document here.
Cartridges that are many years old may have one or more colors that "starve" during heavy printing such as printing Photo's.  A fresh HP cartridge should resolve your issue.

  • FCP 7 Why do I get these horizontal lines on my playback?

I'm working in Final Cut with 1920x1080 Apple Pro Res footage. For some reason I keep getting these
horizontal lines when I playback footage on my timeline or viewer. What is this?

When I export to quicktime there are no horizontal lines. It's only a problem in FCP.
So when I transcode my footage for FCP to Apple Pro Ress 422 (HQ) I should click 'deinterlace video' rather than 'interlace scaling' Is that what you're saying?
    Thanks for your help!

  • Getting waved-horizontal lines running through my photos...Happens not during time of working image in photoshop...but appears when sending to files or other applications, such as after printing back to files...?  Mac checked out OK.

Getting waved-horizontal lines in my imagery just after working in photoshop...sending to files as with after completing some applications, such as printing. Nothing is wrong with my Mac...Issue does not occur every time I go into using Photoshop?

Doesn't matter what kind of file...size, jpeg or tiff, black and white as color, etc...Something is in the software issue for my upgraded CS 5 Photoshop, running on a Mac OSX with Leopard version. The CS 5 Adobe software was in an up-grade from CS 3. Best I can do and I thank you for any suggestions based on your experienced background as I can only offer a general interpretation with the waved-horizontal lines that run across some of my images from being in the Photoshop mode from Bridge.

  • Why do I get faint horizontal lines when I print from elements 12 mac

why do I get faint horizontal lines when I print from elements 12 mac

    Hi Ben,
I can't reproduce that behavior.  The only two things I can think of at the moment are (1) you accidentally added a shortcut as a panel shortcut instead of a diagram shortcut or (2) the name of the object you specified isn't for the "Multiply" node, but for some other node (you said "Multiplication" in your initial post) that can only be dropped in certain places (i.e. maybe it's a node that is only valid in Simulation diagrams).  Can you post the following lines from your LabVIEW INI file so I can look into it further:
    QuickDropDiagramShortcuts
    QuickDropPanelShortcuts
    Let me know,

    Edit:  Yeah, what he said.

  • Major CS5 bug where Smart Objets get thin horizontal lines??

Our prepress company has come across and proven out a rendering bug in Photoshop CS5 for Mac.  It has caused us to consider totally avoiding CS5 until it's fixed.  We are finding that CS5 is putting in several randomly generated thin horizontal lines about a pixel in height and varying widths, in cases where CS4 does not.  Some files get these lines when converting live "smart objects" from one ICC colorspace to another.
I am providing a link to a specific file that shows proof of this bug.   The example file has an embedded sRGB profile.  To see the bug, set you working RGB colorpsace to AdobeRGB, and set your Policies to "Ask".  During opening, USe the embedded profile. Then convert it to the AdobeRGB 1998 colorspace using File Convert, and do not rasterize the smart objects.  You will see lines in the lower right hand corner after it's converted.  Now go back and rasterize the smart object layers first, and these lines will not show up.  And now do the same with CS4, without rasterizing the smart objects and you will not get lines.  CS5 bug, CS4 no bug.
Let me know what you find on your end.  Can any of the adobe employees document this for me and get it on the fix list?
    Test file:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?ant3ya9aaft1a95

I also head a Graphics/Prepress department at a medium format digital print shop, with next day service to the casino industry. My two cents worth, CS4 did not have this issue, CS 4 was a Cocoa app and CS5 a Carbon app, to me that is not a reason why a major software company like Adobe has multiple leading products (PS, ID, Ill) that cause these kind of problems. I can't count the times my print opp's have come back with a file showing lines. Now, I have told my designers that we should also be looking for the lines, now that we know about it.
I have printed fabric before and it is a pain to print one and see if there are lines in it, but which is more painful, printing one to test? Or trashing $3k worth of fabric? I know this works for one image printed x times, but multiple images printing a couple each to fulfill the job would be a huge ordeal. Adobe doesn't understand that yet. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, maybe we should all start calling tech support daily.
I saw a post suggesting rasterize pdf's in lower PS to work around, clearly an ad agency/freelance solution, not a production house solution. Opening and closing PS12 and PS11 somewhere around 15 to 20 times, per work station?  We process somewhere around 40 minimum pieces of art a day, and sometimes double that. I could rant on this suggestion all day.
The bottom line is Adobe has no clue where it is coming from, they are more worried about the iPad/mobile industry right now.

  • Faded horizontal lines on 24inch imac

I have a 2.8GHZ imac 24 inch ser num W87351DPZCV from Late 2007 Just recently I have noticed some light brown faded shadowy horizontal lines on the display. It is not very noticeable unless you have a nice white background (like the new snow leopard screen).
I have checked the inside of the glass panel and cleaned it as well as the LCD screen its self.
This is a smoke free home.
There are 7 dull lines total. They are darkest at the edges and lightest in the center of the screen.
Does anyone have any idea what this is or how to fix it?
    THANKS
    Steve

    Hi Steve
It sounds like your front glass panel which is held on by magnets needs to be removed and cleaning. Many folks have complained about both condensation and a film collecting on the inside of the glass panel because it is not sealed. If your iMac is covered by Apple Care make an appointment with your local Apple Service Provider or Apple Store and have it cleaned, if not see the many (some good and some bad) DIY video's in the YouTube link below and do it yourself.

  • Faded horizontal lines showing at the background

Hi, I have just purchased a 58"  Toshiba Led TV Cloud  58M8365D and a bit disappointed as I can see continues  vertical greyish vertical lines when there is either a white background or else whilst watching a game of football and there is a green background. Quite annoying.  While moving picture ( during a game) they show much more. Can anyone verify if it is a defect or if it is common.

Some sites work but home page is only streaks of color no text in the body of page. Address is ledgible and a few other items like icons.
Should I uninstall and then reinstall?

    Hi oneLmicheLe,
Thank you for your question, I understand that you have downloaded Firefox for Android and that there are some issues with the display.
Yes, please reinstall Firefox for Android from the Google Play Store. Did this help?

  • Horizontal line - Running out of options.

Hi guys. I can hope someone can help
I have a LaserJet 100 MFP M175NW printer that is around 2 years old. I am getting 1 horizontal faded line right through every page I print, black, or colour. It is always in the same position
I have the exact same printer which is in perfect working order so I have tried the following
1: Used a new photoconductor I know works
2: Ran a clean cycle (10 times) on the cartridges
3: Installed 4 new cartridges, from the printer I know prints perfect
I'm not sure what else it could be? I am happy to get my hands dirty if there is something else I can try. I am thinking it must be some sort of dust/residue build up somewhere but  I am not sure where or what to clean.
    Look forward to your help
Picture attached showing the line I have referred to.

    Hi @JSM87 ,
I see that you are getting a horizontal line in the same area when printing in color or black. I would be happy to help you.
Since you have already tried known good toners and a imaging drum, most likely it is the fuser or another hardware issue.
Please try the steps in this document to see if it will help resolve this issue. Steps provided are for running cleanings, calibrating the printer and printing off a Diagnostics Page and the Print Quality Page.

    What are the toner levels?

  • Horizontal lines on my Macbook Pro

I have recently been getting these horizontal lines on my Macbook Pro. I purchased it mid 2010, and just now have noticed it. I upgraded to Mavericks, but I noticed the lines before that though. Another thing that I have found is that it gets hot really quick. I notice the heat mostly above the keyboard, where the display connects to the "body" of the notebook. Is this something I can fix? I have attached pics of the problem.

    Hi
I had something similar about a year ago.

My problem was an overheated chip.

  • Horizontal lines for each rows in the rtf template

    Hi,
I am a newbie for XML Publisher. I just created a XML Publisher report for Vendor invoices. But for each invoice/invoice line rows I am getting a horizontal line which separates each row. But I just wanted the vertical line to separate the columns and not for the rows.
For example, the output looks like
    Invoice number | Item Description| Quantity|
    123__________| xyz__________|_____30 |
    _____________| xyz__________|_____30 |
    _____________| xyz__________|_____30 |
    345__________| xyz__________|_____30 |
I am getting the report some this like this. But I need the report like below,
    Invoice number | Item Description| Quantity|
    123__________| xyz__________|_____30 |
    _____________| xyz__________|_____30 |
    _____________| xyz__________|_____30 |
    345__________| xyz__________|_____30 |
(Please consider the ____ as space)
Please suggest me some solution. tons of thanks in advance.

    Hi Vetsrini,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I hope I had put the tag that you had mentioned. But anyhow I had sent your the template and the sample XML file to see the output.
I have one more question also I want a curvey edge for the table and no tthe sharp edge like this _|. If possible please suggest for this also.
    Looking forward for your reply.

  • Horizontal Lines while Capturing video in Premiere Elements 12

    Problem:
I have a Sony DCR-TRV80 where video is captured on Mini DV tape. It connects to my PC via FireWire. PC has i7 CPU, Win 7 64bit. 8gig ram, raid 0 hard disks, nvidia video card. Lots of hard disk space.
When I capture video, as it is captured, I get horizontal lines whenever there is motion (either a subject is moving OR the camera is moving). This is seen in the capture window of Premiere Elements 12
    The Project Settings:
I have tried several but the one that does not give me a warning is DV Standard 48khz & DV Widescreen 48khz. Both setting details show them as being interlaced (frame rate of 29.97 & size of 720h 480v).
Additionally, I have tried several other Project Settings and still get the same result.
    What I See:
When I am capturing the video, I see the horizontal lines. When I output the image, I still get the horizontal lines (all seen on my PC).
    My goal:
To capture my videos and have them at high quality so I can edit them to show on my TV to the family. I also would like to be able to see them on the PC without the annoying (and dizzying) horizontal lines.
Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

I looked at the manuals, etc. from Sony and could not find out much about the output of the camcorder. So best I can tell from your posts, the  Sony DCR-TRV80/ Mini DV tape is interlaced natively.
I then did an output to a DVD and played it on my TV/DVD and no interlacing (actually minimal) was apartment.
I was unable to output to YouTube since it would only do it if it also uploaded the video to YouTube which I did not want to do.
So I outputted to AVCHD which seemed to be progressive output. The horizontal lines were definitely much less but still noticeable especially if I make the player larger.
I am just struggling with what I thought as high quality camcorder and prosumer program that I can not see it nicely on the computer or at something a bit larger than a tiny thing.
What can I try to check into this? I am glad to do whatever it takes on my end to learn or correct what I am doing.

  • Report Painter / Writer - Horizontal Line

    Hi
Can anybody please let me know how to get a horizontal line after a particular row in a report painter/writer report.
    this is very urgent!!
    helpful answers will be rewarded!!

Hi there.  This is from SAP help:
On the Create Report: Rows screen, move the cursor to the row set for which you want to enter characteristic information and choose Edit --> Choose.
The Row Characteristic dialog box appears. You can switch between characteristics using the Prev. characteristic and Next characteristic buttons.
Enter data in the Totals display group box as required:
The Totals display fields allow you to enter a number range of levels and then:
    - Underscore or overscore with single or double lines or format characters at these levels.
    - Insert additional blank lines between levels.
    - Highlight lines between levels.
    - Define colors for lines.
Set the Lower border indicators depending on how you want the lower border for the row characteristic totals to appear. You can define the lower border so that no lower border appears, a single line appears, a double line appears, or a user-defined character is used for the border.
Set the Upper border indicators depending on how you want the upper border for the row characteristic totals to appear. You can define the upper border so that no upper border appears, a single line appears, a double line appears, or a user-defined character is used for the border.
    I hope this helps.

  • Need to print horizontal line at the end of main window in each page.

    Hi,
I am printing a smartform with main window having 10 lines in footer. The problem I am facing is when the content extends upto two or more pages, I am not getting the horizontal line at the base of main window. For last page it is fine as it contains footer.
    Please suggest how to proceed.
    Thanks,
    RKU

    Hi,
If you don't have any frame set on your main window:
Go to output options and mark frames, and then go to details and uncheck checkboxes for above, laft and right, leving only below marked.
This will give you a line in the bottom of you main window.
If you dont' want to do this on the main window, can you create a new window placed at the bottom of the page and use this framing technic on that window. But in that case don't forget to mark the "always draw box and shading" checkbox. as this window contains no values, the will not get printed unless  you mark this checkbox.
