Getting FileNotFoundException : _wl_cls_gen.jar!/null during deployment

Hi,
Please find below stack trace that I am getting when trying to deploy the application. I have searched the forums and found that the file wlcls_gen.jar is internally created for WEB-INF/classes.
I am having difficulty in finding out the exact cause for this issue, please let me know if you have any idea.

Hi All,
After trying so many times to resolve this error i found one strange thing.
I have the Listeners in my web.xml which are calling the ServletContextListener to create the one and only instance.
But in weblogic.jar there is no ServletContextListener class to be called. that is the reason i am still getting the deployment error.
Could someone please let me know where to locate the ServletContextListener in weblogic 10.3.3.
Thanks and Regards

• Query AD to get OU during deployment

Hi,
I am going through
http://scriptimus.wordpress.com/2013/02/11/mdt-2012-domainous-list/ article. It has explained to have OU listed during deployment and user can choose it. I want to know if there is any way through customersettings.ini to make it dynamic..i mean if some
new OU is added, it can be queried and added populate automatically or instead of drop down, I can connect with AD and choose the OU? Not sure if it can be achieved..any inputs pls.
Regards,

Al tough I understand your question perfectly, I'm wondering, how often do you ad a new OU?
Most of the time I would say, your AD structure is in place before you are going to deploy clients. Don't you agree?
Creating a drop down list with available OU's is perfectly possible, using the MDT Wizard Editor, which you can find on codeplex, to create your own wizard pages. However dynamically update this information from AD, can only be achieve in my opinion with
(complex) powershell or vbs scripting. And is it all worth it to have a functionality which in my opinion should be solved another way, with another tool.
MDT is just a deployment tool, not a GPO Manager, not AD Users and Computers, in my opinion you need to question yourself if you really want to build this with MDT. You're not going to deploy applications from via a log-in script either. -right?
If this post is helpful please click "Mark for answer", thanks! Kind regards

• _wl_cls_gen.jar artifact is missing some resources

After deploying an Enterprise Application Archive (EAR) to Weblogic Server, for each WAR file contained in the EAR file, a wlcls_gen.jar artifact is generated in <ORACLE_SERVER>\user_projects\domains\<DOMAIN_NAME>\servers\<SERVER_NAME>\tmp\_WL_user\<APP_NAME>\mbo9wa\war\WEB-INF\lib folder.
This artifact contains the resources (.class , .xml , .properties , ...) that were originally located in the WEB-INF\classes of the WAR file that was deployed on the Weblogic server. During deployment, Weblogic Server moves the WEB-INF\classes resources into the generated WEB-INF\lib\_wl_cls_gen.jar file
The problem we're facing with this approach is the fact that we have a JSF application that uses Facelets as the view technology. Using facelets, the application streams tagsource files from the JAR file where the facelets configuration file is located. Unfortunately, these resources have the jspx extension.
It turns out that during the wlcls_gen.jar generation, all jspx files located in the WEB-INF\classes folder are ignored, in the sense that they are not added to the wlcls_gen.jar file, but kept at the WEB-INF\classes level. As Facelets tries to stream those resources from the JAR file, we get the following error :
javax.servlet.ServletException: /test.jspx @6,22 Facelet Not Found:
zip:C:/oracle10_3_server/user_projects/domains/base_domain/servers/AdminServer/tmp/_WL_user/app/mbo9wa/war/WEB-INF/lib/_wl_cls_gen.jar!/tagsource/resource/resource.jspx
The problem here is that the file is located in the classes folder, and not in the generated JAR file.
C:/oracle10_3_server/user_projects/domains/base_domain/servers/AdminServer/tmp/_WL_user/app/mbo9wa/war/WEB-INF/classes/tagsource/resource/resource.jspx
Is there any way to override this behavior, without us having to resort to changing the extension of those files (we use the jspx extension for code completion).

• Weblogic 10.3 _wl_cls_gen.jar not honoring resource paths

I have simple application that utilizes ADF, and also utilizes a web service end point. I am successfully able to deploy and run within JDeveloper 11g's built in server. The issue I have is when deploying to a stand alone Weblogic 10.3 server. I have my resources packaged into a war and the folder structures are correct. The issue in particular has to do with the system looking for my wsdl.
I get the following error while trying to run the system:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: zip:C:/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/base_domain/servers/AdminServer/tmp/_WL_user/ewpsApplication/9gfvtn/war/WEB-INF/lib/_wl_cls_gen.jar!/com/docucorp/webservices/ewps/service/DocumentService.wsdl
I understand that it is stating that it can't find this resource, the problem is that the resource is package in the following directory:
/com/docucorp/webservices/ewps/service/_2005_12_01/DocumentService.wsdl
It is like the system is ignoring the _2005_12_01 directory when looking for the resource. Can anyone help me out. By the way, I'm a novice at both Jdeveloper and WebLogic.

I too have the same problem with the wlcls_gen.jar
Any ideas about how to make things like resources available from here? This all works fine if I manually go in and extract this jar back into the WEB-INF/classes directory.
Can I turn off this wlcls_gen.jar from being created?

• ClassCastException during deployment with more than one used entity

Hi,
i am still trying to get into NW development and got one more time stuck. I have a CE 7.1 SR5 project containing a dictionary, a bean module, an EAR project and a web dynpro project.
With the following two classes everything runs fine:
[AT]Entity
[AT]Table(name="TMP_USER")
[AT]NamedQueries(value={[AT]NamedQuery(name="doLogin", query="SELECT u FROM User u WHERE u.login = :login AND u.password = :password")})
public class User implements Serializable {
[AT]Id
private int id;
private String login;
private String password;
private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
public User() {
super();
// Omitted Accessors
[AT]Stateless(name="UserSessionBean")
[AT]WebService
public class UserSessionBean implements UserSessionLocal
[AT]PersistenceContext(unitName="DBAccess")
private EntityManager em;
public User doLogin(String login, String password)
Query query = em.createNamedQuery("doLogin");
query.setParameter("login", login);
query.setParameter("password", password);
try
return (User) query.getSingleResult();
catch(NoResultException e)
return null;
build, deploy, run in webservice navigator -> ok
Then i created a new entity:
[AT]Entity
[AT]Table(name="TMP_PROJECT")
[AT]NamedQueries(value={[AT]NamedQuery(name="findAllProjects", query="SELECT p FROM Project p")})
public class Project implements Serializable {
[AT]Id
private int id;
private int ownerid;
private String name;
private Timestamp creationtime;
private String description;
private int number;
private short subnumber;
private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
public Project() {
super();
Omitted Accessors
build, deploy, run in webservice navigator -> no problem.
Then i changed the UserSessionBean to:
[AT]Stateless(name="UserSessionBean")
[AT]WebService
public class UserSessionBean implements UserSessionLocal
[AT]PersistenceContext(unitName="DBAccess")
private EntityManager em;
public User doLogin(String login, String password)
Query query = em.createNamedQuery("doLogin");
query.setParameter("login", login);
query.setParameter("password", password);
try
return (User) query.getSingleResult();
catch(NoResultException e)
return null;
public Projecet testfunc()
return null;
And now during deployment there is an warning (in reality it´s an exception) and the bean does not work any more.
The exception is
1. Exception has been returned while the 'testproject.testcorp.de/testprojectear' was starting. Warning/Exception :

I already downgraded my Java JRE/JDK to 1.5.0_15 as it was hinted here in the forum, but the problem persists. Any idea what is wrong?

Thanks for the answer, but i am not using this wizard. Some how this project class must be flawed.
public User testfunc()
return null;
works, but changing to
public Project testfunc()
return null;
immediately leads to the above deployment error.
This is the offending class, it compiles without warning

• Error during deployment of Message Driven Bean

Environment: WLS 6.1SP3 on Win2K SP2, non-clustered.
I am getting some error (or perhaps warning) during deployment of Message

This error only comes on a machine with Dual Network card.
Thanks.

Hi Tom
Yes we do have an URL provided in the descriptor. It's
t3://jms.server.net:7001.
and the jms.server.net is resolved via a hosts file in Win2K
eg,
192.168.100.200 jms.server.net
You are right in saying that the loopback in a dual-net card is a problem.
But our solution
above solves the issue as long as your host file does not use 127.0.0.1 as
the IP.
We need the URL b/c depending on our client's deployment , the JMS Server
may be remote or may be local.

• Org.xml.sax.SAXParseException during deploying project in SOA 11G

Hello,
I was migrating a project from SOA 10G to SOA 11G (11.1.1.3). I had to make a few changes in the project such as:
1) Put concrete wsdl's
2) Put "<bpelx:exec import="oracle.soa.common.util.Base64Decoder"/>" in the bpel file
3) Change the database adapters to have "toplink" as the persistence provider as when I migrated the file , it changed it to Eclipse
4) Fill in the port and location in the reference portion of the composite.xml
At the end of all these changes , my project compiled properly , but when I tried to deploy it , I am getting this error:
[09:57:27 AM] Error deploying archive sca_MIA_ModuleInvToGP_rev1.0.jar to partition "default" on server soa_server1 [sv-soafm-dev1.infinera.com:8001]
[09:57:27 AM] HTTP error code returned [500]
[09:57:27 AM] Error message from server:
Error during deployment: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: <Line 26, Column 68>: XML-20221: (Fatal Error) Invalid char in text.: <Line 26, Column 68>: XML-20221: (Fatal Error) Invalid char in text..
[09:57:27 AM] Check server log for more details.
I am unable to know where this particular error is coming from , and do not know how to resolve this. Does any one have any idea on what could be the possible reason for this?
Seems to be a problem with some XML file , but I dont know which file to check.
Any help is welcome.
Thanks
Manan Sanghvi

In the session.xml schema it is a choice between driver-class/url and datasource, so you need to remove the driver-class tag as you are using a datasource.
<driver-class>oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</driver-class>
<datasource>jdbc/AlfaDS</datasource>
replalce with,
<datasource>jdbc/AlfaDS</datasource>

• Getting error for classpath setting during compilation

Hi,
I tried sampel code of SchematronValidation bpel sample code from oracle site.But while compiling the code,I am getting following error:

Is there a way to get the command window to accept longer

• Error during deployment writing deployemnt cache

I get this error every time I try to deploy from JDeveloper to oc4j. Only shutdown and redeploy works.
Error instantiating compiler: IO error writing cache: D:\oc4j\j2ee\home\applic
ation-deployments\App\Appejb.jar\deployment.cache
It might have something to do with EJB being in memory? Any better ideas on how to deal with this?
Thank you,
Mark Komosa

Hi!
I had the same problem too. But not using JDeveloper, but the deploy-tool/command line option. It is probably the same thing almos I guess. The problem is that oc4j doesn't really give you any information about what is really wrong during deployment. I too tried to just shut it down and do a restart. That seemed to help some times. The generation of wrapper classes and their compilation is nowhere near stable. I got a really interesting error because I had a variable named "dirty" in one of my beans. It seemed like oc4j generated a wrapper containing a variable with the same name (sic!) and this caused a compilation error when this variable was initialiazed in some point of their code... Renaming my variable "solved" the problem.
Also try the auto-deploy mechanism. This might work better for you.
If you are using local interfaces, be sure that your bean implementation does not have any methods which declare or use RemoteException. This might be stupid to point out, but I have used the same bean implementation for both remote and local interfaces in Jboss, forgetting to remove these declarations from the bean implementation (I never actually throw RemoteExceptions, just EJBExceptions), and their wrapper classes do not care about this. Of course the exceptions shouldn't be there but this caused errors for me and maybe someone else is suffering from this unknowingly.
All in all, I can now deploy to 9.0.3 Developers' Preview with not very much hassle (just the deployment being awfully slow and memory consuming). Of course, now I have downloaded the 9.0.3 "Production" release and now I am getting new errors using the same ear-file which works fine in DR... it makes you a little bit irritated to say the least.

• ClassNotFound error during deployment of ADF fusion web applications

Hi All,
We have a fusion ADF web application to be deployed on a stand alone weblogic server. The weblogic server has the default AdminServer and one more extended domain. Both the domains have got ADF runtime libraries installed. When the EAR file is deployed on AdminServer using weblogic administration console, the app works perfectly fine. However, when we try to deploy the same EAR file on the other domain, we get the following error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/jdeveloper/db/adapter/DatabaseProvider.
This is being referenced by connections.xml in ADF-META-INF. If we include the corresponding jar file in our class path, the app runs fine.
I have the following doubts:-
1) Is the error due to the fact that we missed any of the steps for configuring ADF runtime libraries on the extended domain. If not, any particular reason for this error?
2) Our application uses data sources for connections and we have configured AM's and the weblogic server for the same. I understand that connection information for every AM is stored in bc4j.xcfg. In such a case, do we need connections.xml that is automatically included in the EAR file. If this is not needed, any steps to exclude it during deployment.

Hi,
Can you check if the solution given in this thread is of any help for you?
What does this message mean?

• Trouble during deployment

Hi!
I am using Jdev 10.1.3.2 for developing my application.
I created JSF portlets to be consumed by a portal page in the portal server. Its an experiment (JSF is acting like a portlet). So dont know if its gonna work or not!
I created two applications in which JSF page in one app was created with web-app version: Servlet 2.4\JSP 2.0 (J2EE 1.4). I created a WAR file and tried deploying it in External OC4J (Oralce EM 10.1.2.0.2). I get the following error;
Failed to deploy web application "<web-app>". Failed to deploy web application "<web-app>". . Nested exception
Resolution:
Base Exception:
java.rmi.RemoteException
deploy failed!: ; nested exception is:
oracle.oc4j.admin.internal.DeployerException: Unknown assembly root-tag attribute: xmlns:xsi. deploy failed!: ; nested exception is:
oracle.oc4j.admin.internal.DeployerException: Unknown assembly root-tag attribute: xmlns:xsi
I searched the net and the oracle forum and learned that the EM OC4J does not support web-app version (J2EE 1.4) to solve for which one has to add a lib into <oc4j-instance>/applib. I am in the process of doing that. I shall post the outcome!
Next, I have the second app which has JSF Page created with web-app version: Servlet 2.3\JSP 1.2 (J2EE 1.3) (Thinking that the EM should support).During Deployment, i get the following error;
Failed to deploy web application "<web-app>". Failed to deploy web application "<web-app>". . The evaluate phase failed. The Adapter used in the evaluate may have thrown an exception.
Resolution:
Please call Oracle support.
Base Exception:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
oracle/adf/model/binding/DefinitionFactory. oracle/adf/model/binding/DefinitionFactory
I think there is a jar file missing. I tried googling for this error and solution but to no avail and im stuck. What should i do to solve the problem?
Thank you for any answers.

Your basic problem is that it looks like you are deploying a J2EE 1.4 based application to OracleAS 10.1.2 which is J2EE 1.3 based. It's not that EM doesn't support it -- the whole product version you are using doesn't support it.
If its possible, I'd upgrade/use the OracleAS 10.1.3.x release which is J2EE 1.4 compatible. It also matches the version of JDeveloper you are using.
For you latter issue, it looks like you may not have ADF installed on the target server. I don't know jack about ADF so I can't say what versions of it work with what versions of OC4J -- but again, if you use OracleAS 10.1.3.x instead of 10.1.2 then the version of ADF you need based on the JDeveloper version you are using will be pre-installed and functional.
