Hi. I have recently finished with an emplyer and have backed up my phone and when i go to restore the back up to another phone it is asking me to turn off the "find my iphone" before the restore can start. Pronlem is im no longer in possesion of this phone and can not turn it off.
    Any assistance would be great

It's not referring to your old phone, it's referreing to the one you're trying to restore to. Where did you get the phone you're trying to restore the backup to?

    Change here:
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region.
You must have a verified billing address & be located in the country whose store you are trying to use.

  • I have a G4 Quicksilver that no longer works, but the hd may still be good. How can I get files off the G4 hd and onto my new iMac?

I have a G4 Quicksilver 2001 that no longer works, but the hd may still be good. How can I get files off the G4 hd and onto my new late 2013 iMac?

Also, how do I boot the G4 into FireWire Target Disk mode?
First, the G4 must be able to start to use FWTDM. If it can start, hold the t key at boot until you get a "screensaver pattern" that looks like this:
If the G4 is attached via a FireWire cable to a newer Mac with a FireWire port, the G4's hard drive will appear on the other Mac's desktop just as if it were any external drive. A USB cable won't work for FWTDM.
Just wondering if the drive in my G4, which I believe may be an ATA drive will also work in an enclosure for a SATA drive?
No. ATA (actually "PATA" or "IDE") and SATA are different interfaces. PATA external enclosures are now very hard to find. You best and least expensive option is the adaptor that BDAqua linked. One of its connectors is for PATA drives.

  • Getting Files off of ATV

    Hi All,
Is there a way to get files off of ATV that have been synced from iPhoto? Here's my problem. I have a LaCie drive that I use to save all of my media files on and that drive syncs my photo's to my ATV. I can no longer mount my LaCie drive; which is another issue, but I want to be able to take my photos from my ATV and back them up on another drive so I don't loss them if my LaCie drive is fried. I can view the photos on my ATV, so the files themselves are there, but I can't figure out how to access the ATV as a volume drive and copy the files somewhere else.
    Can someone help me out?
    Thanks in advance.
    John

    You can't officially do it.
AppleTV is not additional storage or a backup solution.
    It only holds non-retrievable copies.
Your only solutions are to hack/mod AppleTV to open up some functionality - which is beyond most user, or to dismatle and remove the internal drive and then use an adpter to connect it to your computer and manually hunt for the files.
You can certainly get at the files if you're prepared to take AppleTV apart.

  • Getting files off 'pages' from backup.

So, i wrote a document on my ipad, on pages, and then i sold my ipad. I forgot to get the document off of it first. However, my whole ipad is backed up on my computer. Is there anyway to get the document back?

Read all instructions and support articles that I am referencing in this post.
The instructions are in this article
    iOS: How to backup
But - before you even attempt to do this - make sure that you have a current backup of the iPad in iTunes on your computer and back up the phone as well.
Without connecting the phone to your PC - Launch iTunes, and the go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. See if there is a backup listed in there for your iPad. If there is a backup - and you are certain that the document would be in that backup - then do this - click on the box that says - Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from automatically syncing. Click OK to close that window. iTunes will not sync the phone automatically when you connect it to the computer and launch iTunes.
Now backup the iPhone - just in case. Connect the iPhone to your computer, launch iTunes. Right click on the iPhone name on the left side - under devices - and select backup. This will backup all of the settings and data on the phone - just in case.
Now follow the instructions from the article above. Actually - all you have to do after you backup the phone is right click on the phone name again and select - Restore from Backup. When you select - Restore from Backup - a window will pop up from which you can choose any of the backups that you have in iTunes. Select the iPad backup and then click on restore.
Again - bear in mind that this will restore all of the data that was on the iPad to the iPhone and it will overwrite any other app data, app settings, the camera roll, etc on the phone.
If for some reason, this does not end up the way that you were hoping that it would - restore the phone from the backup that you created earlier to return the phone to the state that it was in before you restored from the iPad backup.
You may end up with apps that you don't want on the phone - or they may not have all synced when you restore. Just go back into all of the tabs in iTunes and select - or deselect the content as needed - and sync again - you will need to click on Apply - in the lower right corner.
Remember to turn auto syncing on again when you are done restoring the device - if you want to use auto sync.

  • How to delete previously deleted files off iphone PERMANENTLY from database

Someone I happen to know hacked my iPhone 4s. They took my iPhone when I left it out. They plugged it into their Macbook and used software I beleive called Wondershare Data Recovery, to raid my phone and go through confidential files I had previously deleted on my phone. They went through text messages, photos and files that were personally confidential to myself. They made it aware they did this because they personal told me they would continue "tracking" what I do on my phone because my files will be backed up onto their computer. I was also made aware that after I decided to put a password on my phone, the person told me "It doesnt matter if you put a password on the phone since my phone is now ENCRYPTED with the laptop".
My first question is how do I go about this situation. Is there a program i can use to fully erase all the "deleted" files i thought were deleted previously on my phone? Is there a data base i can PERMANENTLY delete my files from so they can never be acessed in a data base in the future?
How do I make sure i dont continue to get stalked by this "close friend" in the future?

If you have permanently deleted iPhone file thoroughly, No one can get you personal information and data from iPhone, after you sell, donate or give it away.
To permanently delete photo, video and other files on iPhone, you can use a iPhone data eraser, there are some iPhone data eraser software in the market, but few can be completely and permanently delete the data on iPhone, even if data has been cleared, some professional iPhone data recovery software can recover them later.
Please read this use guide about how to Permanently Erase iPhone Data Before Selling your iPhone. So

  • How to get photos off iPhone

I have an iphone 4s and I have some photos that will not come off the phone.  I have tried to get them off with iExplorer, Aperture, iPhoto, Image Capture and Graphic Converter and none of these programs will recognize the pictures.  The strange thing is that of 154 photos on the camera roll 50 are recognized but 104 are not.  I can get the file number to appear but no picture will come up.  I can't even mail the picture but it will show up on camera roll only on the iPhone.  This has to be a bug in the operating system.  Many people are having the same problem so Apple has to be aware.  Another reason to look at other phones.

  • Getting Files off CD-RW that is not Closed

    Hi,
I have an issue that is new to me. My dad has a CD of a music concert his chorus performed that was captured from the mixing board to a CD writer of some sort. The result was a CD that has a single session that is marked as Open when I look at the disk in Toast.
He had 2 such CDs but I closed the session and finalized one disk by burning an additional file on it. That closed the disk and I could see the 2 sessions (as different volumes) and get the audio files off the disk. However, the second CD seems to have run out of room for me to try that trick again. I tried to copy an empty file created by the "touch" command (probably about 4k in size since nothing is every empty in size) it tells me there is ~600k to write and only about 300k available. Toast tells me there is 702MB of data on the disk already (and CDs only say they hold 700MB so I'm assuming it's at the limit).
So the big question is whether I can use Terminal or some other means to just grab the files from the disk even though the session is open and the disk is not closed. Has anyone run into this before or a way around it? Since the Finder will not mount the open session I can't see it in the /Volumes folder to copy from it. Disk Utility wants to erase the disk and Toast can see the disk and if I had room I could write more to it.
Any help or ideas anyone has is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sean

    Give this one a try....
    http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Utilities/Dragon-Burn.shtml
Do just run it and go.....and do a fresh restart, run that app, then feed the CD - all in one shot, right after a reboot and don't run any other burn apps, feed in any other disks, etc.
If it mounts for DragonBurn, immediately create an image, then burn that to a blank DVD or export audio tracks to iTunes...don't try to pack it all back onto a CD.

  • Can I get files off of my old hard drive?

So, I've been going through a whole lot of trouble lately with my late 2011 Macbook Pro. A little over a week ago it wouldn't start up, and after attempting the recovery process I learned that I had a corrupted hard drive. The problem was I had a partially written 50000 word novel on there which I hadn't backed up. I'm aware that that was incredibly stupid of me, and I usually always back my work up, but I guess because I'd just purchased this macbook in July I didn't expect to have a problem so soon. Anyway, I took it to the apple store and by hooking it up to genius bar OS instead of my own they were able to get into my hard drive and they let me extract the files I needed, and then proceeded to replace my hard drive which took about four days. I just went back to look at the novel after getting the computer back today, and I realized it somehow only got half of it; maybe it was in two documents or something that I missed, I'm not sure what happened, but it's missing a hundred pages.
So, long story short, I need to get back on my hard drive again. They gave the old one to me, but the last thing I want to do is go through the whole entire process of switching drives again, because I need this computer to work on and it would undoubtedly take forever to do. What I'm asking is, does anyone know if there's another way to retrieve these files? Would the apple store be willing to let me load it onto a different computer so I can still keep my own to work on? I know it's probably a long shot, but I'm about ready to give up and this is my only hope.
I'll be returning there tomorrow afternoon, because apparently on top of all of this they did something to my battery while replacing the hard drive, and now it's coming up as not available and it relies entirely on the power adapter to function. So they've got to fix that too. Just my luck, isn't it?
    Thanks.

There are several ways to get data off an old drive, some of which have already been mentioned:
USB drive adapter cable (best choice if you only need to do this rarely, too fragile for frequent use)
External enclosure (choose the 0GB empty case)
Drive dock (I keep one of these around to read old drives that are in the closet, so I no longer need the other accessories. Super handy accessory, much more reliable than the USB adapter cable.)
There are also write-protected forensic drive docks intended to examine and rescue data from drives without altering the contents, but that's probably more than what you need. They're mostly for data recovery shops.

  • How do I get files off of a macbook pro that doesn't have a working trackpad or keyboard? Is it possible to connect it to a new macbook pro?

I spilled water on my old macbook pro and now the keyboard and trackpad no longer work.  I have a new one but want to get some files off of the old one.  What would be the easiest way of doing this.  The old one also has a password so I'm not sure I could get into it anyway.

You could remove the hard drive and put it into an external enclosure. You can connect it to another Mac via Target Disk Mode and transfer the files you want that way. If you put the drive into an external enclosure you can use Migration Assistant to transfer your Home folder to the new computer.

  • Problem getting files off a disk

Hi, I have a DVD with data on it (not a film DVD) but can only get half the files off it. I get the error 36. Is there any app or way of somehow getting past this?
    thanks

I am quite sure it says on the label its IDE.  Would there be a difference in the connectors?  It's connector fit the IDE enclosures.
I plugged the drive into my MBP running 10.6.latest.  Eventually the drive mounted, I tried to access it via Finder, the bottom right hand monochrome spinner went on.  I tried to unmount the drive after maybe 10+ minutes, it balked saying the drive was in use.  I looked back at the Finder, which now showed the drives contents.  I tried to cancel the windows saying the drive wasn't ejected because it was in use, but such window was in use.  I dragged the important folders from the mounted drive to a new folder on the desktop.  The little file transfer windows popped up.  I now have two "Preparing to copy" listings for the two folders I tried to move, though it has been preparing to copy for about 5+ minutes now.

  • Getting files off of idisk

Help!!Hard drive crashed and now I have a new one and I can't figure out how to get stuff off of .mac onto iweb on my new hard drive, which of course is blank. I assume that is possible. How do I transfer all my pages onto my hard drive?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Unfortunately you can't get the published web site back into iWeb. It's a one way street. Unless you have a backup copy of the domain.sites2 file that you used to create the site you'll have to start over and rebuild from scratch. This site will give some tips on doing so: http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWebBackupretrieve.html
