Getting frustrated with this trial download for mac
After first submitting my question I took the advice of staff and posted another comment (about 24 hours ago) still no response. I tried the link adobe staff provided and this time it reads
Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/CPTV/6/osx10/Captivate_6_LS12.d%20mg" on this server.

seriously is there nothing that can be done here? In all my life i've never faced such difficulty trying a software program, is this an indication of how problematic the program is? not a good first impression.

In looking at your post history, it would appear that you initially posted your issue in the Adobe Digital Editions forum and you were then advised to post in the Captivate forum as you were in the wrong place.
I then see that you posted in the Captivate forum and you did receive a reply from what appears to be an Adobe engineer with instructions.
I think where you are having issues is that you seem to believe Adobe engineers are just standing by waiting to assist. (I'm basing that on your statement about the time being more than 24 hours or so for a reply)
Certainly Adobe engineers may visit here from time to time, but the forums aren't intended to be an "official" line of support. Largely, what you get here are users just like yourself. I do believe Adobe offers free support for installation. I might assume that would include downloads too, but I'm not sure.
Just as an FYI, I know you posted a very long ream of code. I'm sure you may have thought it would be useful. And it may. To an engineer. But generally speaking, I'd advise to avoid doing that unless it's asked for. In my opinion, it will cause many to just skip and ignore the post because the codes are often lost on us and meaningless.
I'm not picking on you, just trying to offer some useful advice. I honestly hope you are able to find a good resolution.

Trouble with captivate trial download for mac
im trying to download the trial version of captivate on my mac, the akamai netsession interface is now on my desktop, i go through installation, it makes that happy sound and says the installation was successful, but nothing actually happens, no new folders or documents, or applications, seems like sort of a dead end.
To investigate i clickedon Akamai in "other" of my system preferences is tells me the status is "forbidden" but I am the administrator and i have never used this free trial before, so why am I "forbidden?"

CS3 Trial Download for Mac OSX
Curious on the left column of Installation window has a check
next to each of the 5 elements then 'Done'
In the main part of window the following is reported BUT
without other explanation I am going to uninstall and try redoing.
Advice for a successful download would be really appreciated. Yes I
closed down all other appls before starting.

Getting frustrated with this "error" message
Hi guys, I'm your sterotypical chick here, so fixing computer problems just isn't my thing. I have read several different topics on here regarding my problem. First off when I start itunes it says "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I have uninstalled and reinstalled this a couple of times. Then I came on here and reinstalled QT like you guys said, and that works fine for me. I then did something on one of the other threads that said to go into my documents and settings, and then change my file names itunes.pref1, intunes.prefxml1, ect ect. There is still a problem. I tried seeing if I could get it to work on a different user account and when it started to install and load itunes on that account, it just froze the whole thing up. I'm frustrated and angry that I downloaded this new version, I should have just kept the one I had on there! So someone, please help me out hereFor the -200 try this thread

We have quite a mixture of OSX and Windows across the hundreds of computers we are running. We are on a volume key for all the CS3 products we buy but we still deploy them manually on a MAC but use specops (AD deployment) for the PC). There are some patches now for CS3 and for the MAC we would need to deploy it manually to a large number of machines.
What I want to do is a) set up a server for deploying software and managing the licenses and b) deploying packages for patches or getting the machines to connect to a deployment server.
I have been looking around the Adobe site but I can't find anything that outlines what I need to do to get started with this.

I recently signed up for a one month trial of adobe pro. I logged in. I cannot convert a single page of PDF file to word or Excel with this trial. I just get the request to sign up for a year. What good is the trial if I can't try it?

Please ensure that you are using Adobe Acrobat and not Reader to convert PDF file to word or excel.
Could you tell me whether it is a scanned document? Does this happen with all PDFs or any specific one?
Do you get any error message? What exactly happens when you try doing the same?

How do I access websites that warn: "Firefox is NOT compatible with this application. For best performance, please use Internet Explorer 5.0 and above...."? When I try to download any alternate browser, all I get is another warning that the alternate is "not compatible with your operating system." Is Firefox preventing this? how do i get a recovery disk or download for os 10.5.8? my system was installed by an apple store when replacing my hard drive. i did not get a backup disk. macbook is a 1.1 from mid 2006 and 10.5.8 is as far as i can go.. use this as a utility backup when my new macbook pro with mt lion screws something up---which seems like a daily event. do i have to install a lesser version of leopard then install the update. does software update even work anymore for leopard? im so in the dark and when i look at the console i just freak.

The very first MacBook 1,1s can actually run 10.6, which is updatable to 10.6.8, but will only run in 32 bit mode on yours.

If you no longer use a PC you could format this drive for the Mac. However be aware that formatting a drive will erase all the data on it. So you would need someplace to copy the data off this drive to while you did the re-format and then you could copy the data back.
You could get another drive, format it for the Mac and copy the data to it. Then re-format the original drive and use it as a backup drive. Always good to have backups.
Post back with the drive type and size of the current drive, if you are doing backups now and how and if you still need to access this drive from a PC.

I am trying to download the English version of the "flash professional 8" trial program for "MAC" but when I press download, nothing happens.
I can install the french version and currently am testing the french version, however I am not fluent in french, nor do I wish to improve my french skills.

And it's even somewhat pointless from the company's point of view - ActionScript 2 and other legacy Flash features are long deprecated. Unless they only use this for doing offline stuff, I see no reason why anyone would use such an old version. You might inquire on the Flash forum if someone has this old version and might be willing to share the installer via Dropbox or so, so you could at least use the 30day trial for a while, but that's probably as good as it gets.

my internet has been insane lately. so i decide to wipe out my browsers and re downlad them incase its just a corrupted safari. so i trash safari and keep firefox. all is well untill i go to the apple website and find now safari download for mac. am i crazy? there are 2 otions for windows users and no mac. uhhhhhhhhhhh.....help?!?!
The reason for the lack of a download is mainly due to WebKit. This is the part of OS X that knows how to render a webpage and is used by Safari, Dashboard, Help Viewer, Mail.app etc.
Each point release of OS X tends to update WebKit and the versions of applications that work with it. So, Apple would have to provide downloads for every variation of Safari that has been released - going back to 10.3 that's probably getting on for 15 different versions. As you can imagine this is just as likely to lead to people trying to install the wrong versions for their systems.
The same applies to other OS X applications - Mail, iCal, iChat, etc. None of these are available for individual download in the case of accidental deletion.
The one exception to this that is made is that you can reinstall certain applications from the installation DVD, as mentioned in [this article|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301229].
For Windows, life is a bit simpler as WebKit is delivered with the Safari application (since there are no dependent applications on Windows that use it). -
Hi, I am working with CS6 Design Standard for Mac, I bought from Adobe a DVD with the Software. I installed it already on my mac book. Soon I wanna buy a second computer for my work. When I bought the software I was told that it is possible to install the software on a second computer. But I also read lately that I will only be allowed to work with one computer. I want to work on both of my computers without de/installing and de/activating the software every time. Is this possible? Thank you!!
You should be able to install the products on two computers as long as they are not running at same. Also the platform should be MAC.
