Getting green or purple frames after render
Ever since the latest updates, I am getting bright green or purple frames that appear in my footage after rendering.. it's HORRIBLE and make it's basically impossible for me to edit anything as I have to go back in and re-render every time a new green or purple frame appears.
Is anyone else experieinceing this?
I am pretty sure I have updated all of my filters.. I use FxFactrory Pro and they keep things updated.
I just don't know how to stop this from happening!
Thanks!
Charles
This is a know issue with FCPX 10.0.6 and 10.0.7 - it happens when plugins are used.
I used the Edit Detector program from Digital Rebellion to search my exported file for the flashes. I then exported shorter sections from my final video again (i.e. shorter 5 seconds sections) which I found did not have the flashes, added these as connected clips and re-exported the whole file again.
I only had 3 flashes in a 4 hours video to correct.
This was painful, but a good workaround until Apple fix this!

My iPhone (iPhone 5S) getting green display after one second going to switch off then automatically ON during FaceTime call. My OS version now 7.0.4. I think recent update actually to fix the above issue but still continues.
Similar issue Andrew. After installing 8.0, the IOS deleted 225 songs from one of my playlists, and I'm still "recalling" songs that are no longer in my Music Library. Fortunately, although the playlist of 235 had only 6 songs left on it ( on my Mac), the Playlist was not erased from my I -Phone. I was able to recreate the Playlist on my Mac, using the intact playlist on my phone. When I synched however, I was back to square one. I went to the Apple store, and I had to reset the phone . We also downloaded IOS 8.02. They saved my playlist in the Cloud, deleted it from my Mac, then synched it. Lo and behold, the playlist I recreated on my Mac, synched to my I Phone. After the reset, I had like 11GB of free space. (Its been 5 days since the "reset" and the number of GBs fluctuates from day to day !!)
When I got home from the Apple store I spent after hours reinstalling all the apps, synchng the phone to the Bluetooth in my car ( you know the rest of the saga) , I purchased a song from I Tunes. I "drag and dropped" it into a Playlist, and synched. Didn't work. Song shows in "Recently Added", but the drag and drop feature doesn't work. Bottom line, I'm not willing to "reset" my phone every time I add a song ! I've tried any number of fixes posted to this support community, but none have worked for me.
Furthermore, it took me 3 hours to get the phone re-synched to the Bluetooth system in my car. However every time I connect to "Bluetooth Audio", the system needs to "find" and "reconnect to" my phone. If you ( or anyone else ) finds something that might work for both the music synch and /or the Bluetooth, I'd appreciate your input.
Thanks, Lorenzo -
How do I get rid of a green and purple screen?
How do I get rid of green and purple on my iPad screen?
You might try a reset by holding the power botton and the home button until you see the apple logo then release them.

Pixelated frames after preview render
Hello -
In Premiere Pro CS6 I’m encountering a problem after rendering preview files from H.264 source footage: every 25 frames or so becomes very pixelated in PrPro. The source footage plays fine in QuickTime. At first I thought it might be caused by the way PrPro is interpreting the frame rate; it insists that it is at 25 fps, but the footage is actually 23.97 fps. I thought I could solve this by selecting the clip and going into “Modify Clip” > “Interpret Footage” > “Assume this frame rate: 23.97 fps”. I also changed the Sequence Settings to match the Clip Settings when prompted to do so, but after completing another render, the pixelation still shows up. I’m on a 15” MacBook Pro Retina, Mavericks, OS X 10.9.5.
Any help would be much appreciated.
The image appears steady before pixelation pops into the next couple of frames, then goes
steady again. The pattern repeats every 25 frames or so.
My Sequence Settings.Okay, I think I have things figured out. Just to give a little background of the process, my original source media is in .mkv format, which I’ve discovered doesn’t work in Premiere Pro, so I converted that media to H.264 and tried to edit with that. Well, after doing a little research, I’ve discovered that sometimes H.264 is not the ideal format in which to edit, and maybe this is why I’ve experienced bad frames after performing preview renders?
Anyway, the solution that works for me is to just transcode all my original .mkv files into Avid DNxHD files. I tried MPEG Streamclip to convert, but with 98 minutes of 1920 x 1080p footage, it proved to be excruciatingly slow on my MacBook Pro, especially while trying to maintain 100% quality. I also tried VLC, but it doesn’t seem to support the DNxHD codec (unless I’ve overlooked something). The software I ended up using was Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate. Sure, I had to plunk down $59, but so far it has been money well-spent! Super-fast conversions, and it really helps that it can make use of the CUDA GPU
For all you seasoned video editors reading and laughing, forgive my novice discoveries in all this - video editing is still new for me. -
Any time I try to print a picture I get a purple frame which limits the size of any picture to 5X7. How do I remove this frame?
It looks like you may have applied a stroke with purple color (Edit>stroke(outline)selection), or, perhaps enlarged the canvas (Image>resize>canvas size) and filled the enlarged canvas area with color.
To get rid of it, access the rectangular marquee tool, on the tool's option bar select normal mode, drag out the rectangle inside the purple border. Then, go to Image>crop. -
Dropped Frames msg stops playback and after render and export has gaps
I extracted video from a DVD that a client wants to use for an online video teaser. The video was extracted as an AVI and then converted to QT. I imported the QT to Final Cut Pro ver3 edited the segments. There are only 4 clips; 2 graphics and 2 quick video clips. At the beginning of each clip Final Cut puts up a dropped frames message. Everything in the sequence is rendered but it will not play through the dropped frames message. I exported the sequence to QT and when played back showed a green screen were each dissolve is . I have tried adjusting the preferences based on the Final Cut message but this does not have any affect on the outcome. Any suggestions of how to resolve the issue are welcome. I am in the process of extracting the video again to see if I can get it without dropped frames if that is where it happened. Help/advice is welcome.
When you are extracting the video from the DVD, what compression are you using? Quicktime is just a codec but the compression is important. If you are using standard def video, I like to use DVCPro50 as a compression since it is light but gives excellent quality. Also, make sure that your sequence settings match the video settings. Say that you are using 4:3, lower field, DVCPro50 compression at 29.97fps; then you will want your sequence settings to match that exactly. Since you are using FCP 3 then you will have to change these manually.

Ok. so working on final cut 7. Cannon 5d footage, hootage is in H.264 (usaly edit in pro rez, but its happening with both formats)
Using magic bullet looks to get the grain and tilt shift look, looks good before i render, but as soon as i do render...well its looks like the image below. Any ideas?
before render...
after render
after renderHi
Me just an amateur (FCP 6.0.6) thinking.
How did You set this - I do like this
Setting it to LOW and Quater - gives me a very bad playback - BUT it doesn't halt due to loss of frames.

My 'personal' reminder color of green has been green since day one. Suddenly it changed to purple, and I cannot make it change back for more than 30 seconds--it will change to green after going to edit, get info, then return to purple immediately
by itself. A small circle shows up like something is downloading, and green becomes purple again. Very frustrating.Make sure you select the correct account in the From: drop-down menu when composing a message.

How do I go frame to frame after a few seconds?
Hello,
I'm new here so forgive any mistakes or lack of knowledge.
(Brief history: I have programmed in Pascal before, currently learning Java and Flash)
So my question is i want to be able to move from frame to frame after X amount of seconds. I have searched online for coding on how to do this with the action script and managed to get the first frame working. The problem occurs with my 5th frame as frame 1 goes to frame 5 in 5 seconds but when i want frame 5 to go to frame 10 in 10 seconds it decides not to work.
Below is the code i used in order to accomplish the first frame:
stop();
var myTimer:Timer = new Timer(5000, 1);
myTimer.start();
myTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER_COMPLETE, function(e:TimerEvent)
play();
If there is a problem with the code or if there is an alternative way for better practice please do let me know.
My 5th frame code:
stop();
var myTimer2:Timer = new Timer(5000, 1);
myTimer2.start();
myTimer2.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER_COMPLETE, function(e:TimerEvent)
play();
Thanks in advance. If anyone is struggling to understand my question, apologies because i am really bad when it comes to structuring sentences.You should not have to create more than one timer for this. Also, you should not be building the event handler function into the listener, keep it as a separate function.
In frame 1 you could have...
stop();
var myTimer:Timer = new Timer(5000, 1);
myTimer.start();
myTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER_COMPLETE, moveOn);
function moveOn(e:TimerEvent):void {
play();
and all you would need in frame 5 would be....
stop();
myTimer.start(); -
File size extremely high for .avi after render PE 9
I'm very new to PE and have tried to learn quick to redact info (faces etc) in .avi files for a government agency. I was able to open the file (in the trial version) and make the track matte by dragging the original file to the timeline then dragging it again to the video 2 timeline for the top layer, Question 1) is this the same as copy and paste or am I doubling the size already? Anyway, I was able to get the matte and everything done. Now, to Render and save... I choose computer/avi again (I need to keep it the same) and it took 1 hr 45 min to render it, that seemed long to me but maybe not... but mainly the file size was then 100,883 kb! Starting with a 29.7 kb file. This is what my question is about....could this be right? I can't use it if this is what I get. So, here are the particulars as I got G-spot and looked it up, as per serveral suggestions I saw here. I'm trying to understand the CODEC info but I fear I have a ways to go before I can figure out what I did wrong. (This is my test computer, the future work would be done on a newer, better computer). The videos I would be working with come from various sources and will vary in length but will probably all be a kind of avi.
Intel Pentium processor 1600 mhz
221 mhz, 2.00 gb ram
Microsoft windows xp sp3
video:
length: 0:27.261
frms: 817
Kbps: 28770
pic: 720x480
codec: dvsd dvc/dy
I appreciate any help you can giveThanks for you response and the information was very helpful. I was able to choose and output that gave me a good file size and I do want DV-AVI (I don't remember what I chose but it worked) but, I don't see an option for DV-AVI - is that a general DV output selection, because there seem to be numerous (AVCHD, NTSC, DV STANDARD) acronyms (I have tried to understand what each is) which do I want?

Re: File size extremely high for .avi after render PE 9 created by Bill Hunt in Premiere Elements - View the full discussion
For the use of Track Matte Keying, with say a Gaussian Blur, or maybe Moasic Effect, if you have not altered the In & Out Points, then just dragging the Asset to both Video 1 and Video 2 will work fine. If you HAVE adjusted the In & Out Points, you can just click-drag from the Source Monitor, where you set those In & Out Points, and all is good. The Copy/Paste is just another way to do it.
As you are doing an "overlay," the output File Size will not be affected in any way. You are also limiting the Blur, or Effect on Video 2 to just the area "exposed" by the Track Matte, so the pixel count will not be altered.
As Steve points out, the output CODEC in the AVI will determine the output File Size. File Size is basically determined by the Timeline's Duration and by the Bit-Rate of the output file. With DV-AVI, that Bit-Rate is pretty well set, and your Timeline determines the Duration. At ~ 13GB/hour, a DV-AVI will be pretty large, but that is the nature of the beast. Also, and as Steve points out, if you are going to do additional editing, and will be Importing that file into a New Project, DV-AVI is about as good, as it gets.
Good luck,
Hunt
