Hi,
Try a clean installation of the flash plugin/activeX as follows.
First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
Flash Player Uninstaller.
When the download has completed, close all browser windows, open your Download folder and run the uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the PC.
When windows has reloaded, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.  Note: You may want to deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.
When the installation has completed, restart the PC.
If the above doesn't correct the issue, then try the following.
First of all, download and run the Shockwave uninstaller on the link below.
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/uninstall/win/sw_uninstaller.exe
After this has completed, restart the PC.
When windows has fully reloaded, download and install the latest version of Shockwave on the following link.
http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
Again, after this installation, restart the PC.

  • Green screen when I play videos on my computer while using itunes

Hey I just bought a new computer, and I installed the new itunes and quicktime and whenever i try to play videos that i bought from itunes i can here the music but i get a green screen instead of the video. I have tried reinstalling itunes/quicktime and I am still having no luck. Hopefully somebody can help me out

    Hello Reaper398
Could quick suggestions I have for you
    1. Quit iTunes, And download and install latest Adobe Flash Player
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
*Recommended to reboot after it is installed.
When you get back up and running. Feel free to test movie out again. And see if the green image continues.
    If it does proceed below.
    2. Go to Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features
-If you got Multiple versions of Adobe Flash Plugins. You may wish to uninstall all of them, Then download and install latest Adobe one last time http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
    Reboot as needed.
If this continues again proceed to step 3.
    3. Launch Control Panel - Switch to Classic view if you are not in it. You can see this as an option in the left hand corner of Control Panel
Double click on Quicktime, Go to Advanced Tab - And Empty Cache.
Keep this Window Open, Test Movie Out, If it continues. Close iTunes one last time. Go back to the Window we left open. This time Click on Safe Mode (GDI only) for now.
This is typically caused by outdated Flash Software and or Direct X Software. IF you have Vista you should already have latest Direct X Installed.
If you got XP visit the link below for latest Direct X drivers. As this may also assist without having to use the Safe Mode (GDI) only

  • Why do I only get the audio when I play video files?

I only receive the audio portions when I play video files.  The video is blank/black.  This is happening with mpg., avchd and the videos posted to websites; YouTube, Facebook etc.  The only video files I can play are windows media files.  Windows media PLAYER won't play the other video files?  I have the latest updates for my video card and adobe flash player.  Thanks for any info!  Elwood  Windows 7 64 bit, i7 980x @333 6 core processor, 12 GB ram DDR 1600, Radeon 5850 GPU, OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD

It is most likely that the various files contain CODEC's, that are either not installed on your computer, or PrE is not able to use them.
You list several file types, and I would urge you to first see this FAQ Entry, then get one of the file info utilities, linked in it, G-Spot, MediaInfo, or MediaInspector, then post the details on the various CODEC's: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037?tstart=0
Also, that WMP cannot play the video indicates the likelihood of a CODEC issue.
Try either of the great, free media players, VLC Player, or MediaPlayer Classic HC. Both contain many useful CODEC's, but they do NOT install them into the OS.
Good luck, and with the CODEC info, someone can give your recommendations.

  • Playing video in iTunes on laptop running Windows Vista

I recently changed my computer. I now have an HP Pavilion running windows Vista (use to have XP). I have a video iPod -30GB. I downloaded iTunes onto the new equipment without incident, but that is the last thing that went smoothly.
I can no longer watch TV shows or movies from iTunes. The video plays like a slide show of stills (the audio is real-time however). Eventually I will get an error message from Windows and it closes the application.
I am also having issues with syncing my iPod and computer. I get a message requiring me to delete all of the content of the iPod and replace it with the contents of iTunes.I haven't done this -no trust and no backup
This message is from iTunes. I suspect it is a security feature to prevent downloading to more than one iPod, as iTunes doesn't seem to 'know' my iPod anymore. Syncing has also caused iTunes to close and my computer to reboot. Has anyone else had these problems?
Any suggestions ... short of throwing the Windows computer out of a window?

  • STILL getting green screened when viewing video.. Fix?

    Hey all,
I've had this issue for probably 6+ months. I'm fairly sure a lot of people are familiar with this issue. If I view a flash player that attempts to play video, it shows nothing but a green screen. Regular flash content works fine, only video ends up green screening me (like anything on youtube).
Yes, disabling hardware acceleration makes it work. I am very familiar with that fix. The video is fully viewable at that point, but when I hit a complex website my system bogs down to a crawl without acceleration otherwise. It makes flipping between acceleration and no acceleration a huge hassle.
This is a new OS install. I've uninstalled/reinstalled flash player, no difference.
OS: Win 7 Pro 64bit (all latest updates)
    Flash Player: v11.1.102.55 (current)
Video: ATI Radeon 4870 X2 running latest driver (v11.12)
    Browser: All browsers
I can't figure out where the problem lies, between the probably onboard hardware h264 decoding on the vid card or flash player.
Any idea why this is happening on an otherwise (old but) quality video card?
    Thanks for tips

We've got a couple simultaneous preview releases available.
11.2.300.130 is the Protected Mode for Windows Firefox incubator.  It probably doesn't contain the video fixes you're looking for.
The Flash Player 11.2 Beta 5 (11.2.202.197) release is the best candidate to test this issue on.

  • I keep getting a green screen whenever I play videos and I can't find the "Display" Settings

In fact, I don't think I even have a "Display" box. I looked at the step by step tutorial but whenever I right click there is not "display" box. I'm using a Windows 8 laptop. And the problem started a few days ago. Every video I play is green screen. I thought it was just on youtube but I went to other websites and it's the same problem. How can I fix this? Please help, thank you!

"Green" stuff usually indicates a conflict with the graphics drivers, but I would think that that Windows 8 would have the latest drivers already installed.
What is your display adapter, device driver & date?  See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765

  • Flash player skips to a green screen when fast forwarding video OSX 10.8.2

Right so I have searched the forum and found a few threads about flash videos generally being a green screen, but nothing there helped my problem, nor did it seem similar. I have a 15" MacbookPro Retina running OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2, my flash player is up to date, and so are my graphics drivers.
My problem is whenever I view a flash video, and I want to click ahead to a later point (i.e skip some of the video) then all I get is either a completely green screen or just pink and green noisy rubbish and nonsense video artefacts. The sound however continues to play fine from the point that I have skipped to. And also this happens regardless of the buffering of the video, If it is all fully buffered it still goes rubbishy as soon as I click ahead to skip, but if I just let videos play through they are fine to the end. html5 video plays fine, everything else on my system works flawlessly.
I read in a load of posts that i should disable hardware acceleration. But I can't, as my flash player is also suffering from the apparently well known bug where the right click settings menu is totally unresponsive to mouse input.
I'm stuck for what to do next and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could you give this a try with Chrome to see if it also occurs there?  It sounds like a networking problem but you might also want to try clearing your Flash Player cache and settings.
How do I clear my Flash Player cache and settings?

  • What is causing a partial green screen when displaying (youtube) video (except fullscreen)?

    Hi there,
Whenever I am watching any Youtube vids, the screen always seems like the colours are split up into a "green overlay" and the remaining colours are washed out. At the bottom of the video sits a green bar and the picture looks "double..."This is very anoying, and the problem does not happen when I use Chrome or Explorer (wich I actually do not want to use) The problem sometimes dissapears when I am watching in full screen mode
No idea what is causing this...
If needed I can upload a screenshot, but I am not sure how to do so here...
Thanks for any advise that can lead to the solution...
    Cheers,
    Andy

If you see a green square instead of the Flash player then the player failed to create an overlay and you only see the green placeholder.
You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can also try to "disable the hardware acceleration" in the Flash Player.

  • Adobe flash player green screen when playing videos

    Hello,
I get this green screen when I play videos on my IE9 browser on a Win 7 (64-bit) desktop computer. This green screen appears when playing a video which uses the Adobe flash player (version 11.5.502.146) but happens only after the an initial portion of the video (entire video is loaded already) is played and the rest of the video is green screen and is played at accelerated rates, as if it was being fast forwarded. The audio from the video is also affected as it plays static of different frequencies.
The videos I've been watching are from http://xin.msn.com/ and http://www.youtube.com/. I've also tried to solve this with disabling hardware acceleration from the flash player's menu, and uninstalling and reinstalling and then rebooting the computer, both of which are different attempts which did not resolve the issue.
Help to fix this issue on hand will be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
Open window Control Panel, open Windows Updates, select View update history in the left hand pane, then select 'To remove an update, see Installed Updates'.  Let the list populate, then locate update KB3001237, right click it and select Uninstall - when this has completed, restart the notebook.
Download and reinstall the latest driver for your particular graphics chip - the drivers and software page for your notebook is Here.
    Restart after this reinstallation.
When windows has reloaded, reinstall update KB3001237 via the standalone installation options on the following link.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3001237
    Again, restart after the installation.
