Getting HTML animations to work on DPS publications on iPad

Hi everyone,
I have been using the Animation feature in InDesign 5.5 to create animations, saving it as Flash (FLA), using the Wallaby programme to convert it to HTML, changing the CSS so it doesn't loop (infinite --->1) and then using the Web View on DPS to hopefully get the Animation work on iPad publications.
Opening the HTML in web browser, it worked fine. When it got to the iPad however, the Animation effects didn't work.
Specifically, I was trying the Grow animation effect - but it didn't work on the iPad. What happened was that the place where the Web View was showed a loading icon, then around 2 seconds later, the words (which were supposed to Grow) just appeared (without the Grow effect).
I also tried the "Fly in from left" effect, this time it worked - only once though. When I left the page and returned to it on the iPad, again, the above process happened (a loading icon, and then the words just appeared, and did not fly in from left)
So, I wanted to asked,
1. Are there any animation effects for InDesign 5.5, when converted to HTML, that are not supported by the iPad, causing it to not work completely ( such as probably the Grow effect)?
2. Are there any ways to make the animation effects work for everytime I load the page? (I had already selected the Page Load for the Animation effect so I don't think it's the problem there)
3. The Wallaby programme will make action scripts/ timing unworkable after conversion right? Does this mean that if I wanted to do multiple effects (say different words flying in from left or right in different times), Wallaby is not the solution?
Still a newbie to HTML and DPS, so very sorry if the above questions don't make sense. Much appreciate for any help!

There is a great Apple App called Hype, which creates timeline animation for html. It costs about £20 but is well worth it. It would seem to be far easier than the route you are taking. There is also Adobe Edge, which is free in adobe labs, it is only beta, but some people think its pretty good, not tried it myself yet.

How can I get Configurator off my work PowerMac and have my ipad, ipod4 controlled by my macbook pro from home?

Hi, I put apple configurator on my work machine which has all my itunes, my entire Apple Macintosh History on it and used apple configurator thinking it would be a great way to sync all my devices. I get it now, that it doesn't do that for the private person but is really for an institution or employer. Be that as it may I threw away the app from my main computer and thought I would be done with it.
I just reinstalled apple configurator and thought I took all devices off it. My ipad disappeared from the itunes menu. I plugged my ipad back into my machine and Paulz Config reappeared. I need to get this off my work PowerMac and have my ipad, ipod4 controlled by my macbook pro from home. And does it matter if I use the same email address that's listed with my power mac at work to easily switch the dominant mac over to my home from work. Things can get dicey at work and I don't want my life tied to the work power mac anymore. Thanks, Paul I realize there are a ton of questions in this. I am gratefull if I can just get the apple config off everything.

To completely remove Apple Configurator from a Mac, you need to delete the application along with the following:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.configurator.
You may also want to delete the contents of ~/Library/Keychains and /var/db/lockdown to remove the Supervision Certificate, public and private keys and device pairing information. NOTE: There are other things in Keychains that you may or may not want to delete. Google "keychains" to learn more about what's in that folder.

How do I get an animated .swf file to appear in my iPad publication?

I have an existing ID doc I want to publish to the iPad. How do I get the .swf to appear in my publication? And do I need to do something special to get my next and previous buttons to work?

You need to use the content overlay creator to produce a page
that will accomodate the media item and then build buttons on the page to
do the forward and back or media controls.
Publishing for iPad is a slightly different prospect to producing for print or PDF. There is a lot more to it than simply just saying I want an iPad version especially if you want the sexy stuff that you can get with digital publishing.
I have been wrestling with it for some time now and am just now getting to grips with it.

Html animation stopped working?

I created an html animation (Indesign-Wallaby) and it was working great. It is a headline that slides in, nothing fancy.
I opened the file today on the ipad and instead of the animation sliding in, it just appears. I tested the html in my browser and it is working fine. I relinked to the html file, but it still isn't working correctly?
Any ideas?

Several people are reporting erratic behavior with HTML in articles. I'll look into this and let you know what I find out.

TS4268 Is there a real fix to get iMessage and FaceTime working with iOS7 on my iPad? Tried that 8.8.8.8 and time rest thing but they don't. Everything else works.... Says the network connection is the problem but only for these two programs.

Is there a "real fix" to get iMessage and FaceTime working? Tried the 8.8.8.8 and time,rest thing. Passwords and Apple ID are ok. At log in the message says it's a network connection.
Any ideas? Is here a fix coming from Apple?

Apps are on my iPad and worked fine with iOS 6. When iOS7 was loaded, I can no longer sign in to these two apps using my Apple ID. These apps are on my phone and work fine. This problem is on on my iPad.

Problems getting Urban Airship to work with DPS

I am also having a problem with the Urban Airship push connector. My devices are registered correctly on Urabn Airship. I can send a test push notification from UA to my devices.
But I can't use the push connector to push. I am getting this error: "Error - could not connect to your UA account. Verify that credentials for application are correct."
My credentials seem to work, though, as my devices are registered with UA and also If am acces the UA service directly at https://go.urbanairship.com/api/device_tokens/ with my credentials, I can see my registered devices as well.
What could cause this problem?

Okay,
I could solve this problem myself. As I remembered our provider/hoster doesn't allow fopen request as default. Yo I had to add a php.ini with the following content in the base directory:
[PHP] allow_url_fopen = On

Can't get HTML iframe to work in Muse CC 2014

I'm having some trouble with iframes in Muse CC 2014. I'm using Adobe Captivate 8 to create interactive tutorials. Catptivate then exports a tutorial as an HTML 5 web page into a folder with all of it's related content. I want to place that HTML 5 page into an iframe in Muse. I've tried following all of the advice on this discussion:

By the way, I believe that the tutorial above has an error. Under the heading "Adding iframes to your site to display other site pages with embedded HTML" it suggests this code:

I think that the error is in style="border: 0;"
But to continue with my problem. In Muse I chose "insert HTML" and typed the code below:

I wrote that code based on my amatuerish knowledge and what I read at w3schools. The preview in Muse doesn't show anything, so I published it here:

Again, the page just shows an empty iframe where the HTML 5 page should load. I've triple checked the URL, and I'm sure that it works.
I've also tried using the iFrame Builder Lite add-on (iFrame Builder Lite | Exchange | Adobe Muse CC). It has the same problem, which you can see on the published page here:

I-Pad Mini and Wi-Fi Connection-I-Pad Mini does not connect to the Wi-Fi while IPad and IPhone 5 works in the same location. Then when I go to another location the Ipad Mini works. How can I get Wi-Fi to work all the time like Ipad and Iphone 5?

I-Pad Mini and Wi-Fi Connection. At one location the I-Pad Mini will not connect to wi-fi, while I-Pad and I-Phone 5 works just fine.
Then at another location the I-Pad Mini works just fine. Are there any suggestions anyone can give me to get I-Pad Mini to work everywhere just like I-Pad and I-Phone 5?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

With iCloud on the phone, you will need to remove the account, then add it back in with the new address. It is a bit awkward, but the only way to change the AppleID for the iCloud account login is to delete the account then add it back with the new credentials. You won't loose anything as the iCloud account is still the same one, you just need to re-associate the AppleID credentials for it on the iPhone.

I cannot get Home Sharing to work, Windows 7, 3rd Gen iPad

Sorry for the cross-post -- I originallly put this in the iPad discussion group, but this is clearly the group where it belongs...
Anyway, I've followed the instructions to the letter, enabling Home Sharing on my Windows 7 PC running iTunes 10.7.0.21, and also enabling it on my 3rd Gen iPad. I've verified that it's enabled about a dozen times now, rebooted everything, and still I can't see my iTunes Library from my iPad... I go to Music on the iPad, and it just shows the few songs that I've loaded onto the iPad itself, not my PC's music library...
Another thing -- if I try to use the Remote app to control my PC's iTunes remotely, I click on Settings in that app and click on Add iTunes Library and it gives me a 4-digit code and tells me to go to my PC and click on "My iPad" in iTunes then enter the 4-digit code. "My iPad" *does* appear in my PC's iTunes, so clearly it's seeing the iPad's request for access... But when I click on it and enter the 4-digit code, iTunes just sits there on "verifying remote passcode" forever (or at least as long as it took me to go outside and smoke a cigarette -- I imagine it's supposed to do it in about 3 to 5 seconds, not 10 minutes)...
I've opened up TCP port 3689 and UDP port 5353 on my Windows Firewall, and still no change... Of course I leave iTunes running on the PC while I'm trying all this stuff... From what I've read, they're telling me that in iTunes there should be a "Look for Remotes" check-box when I go to Edit | Preferences | Devices, yet I don't see one there so I can't check it -- but I don't think that's the problem because iTunes on the PC is seeing my iPad, it just won't talk *back* to the iPad when I enter in the 4-digit remote code... At this point I have no clue what's going on.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how I get this thing working?

Well, I guess the 3rd time's the charm... Instead of rebooting everything, I shut everything off, waited a full 2 minutes and turned it back on in the following order: Router, PC, iPad. Waited a good 3 minutes between turning each device on. (Oh, and before I shut down the PC, I added iTunes to the Startup menu so it would start when Windows booted).
Now it seems to be working fine -- my library showed up in the Remote app on the iPad automatically, no need to enter a 4-digit code on the computer (makes me wonder why it didn't do that the first time?)
Anyway, it's all working now... No idea why... But it works...

Getting itunes has stopped working error when sync wit IPad

I am getting a itunes has stopped working when sync with IPad, using windows 7

It is only when I attempt to add a song to my iPod once plugged in that I receive the error "Itunes has stopped working" and forces me to exit the program, without the song being successfully transferred.
Do you have the "Convert to 128 kbps AAC" preference enabled for syncing to the iPod, laur?
If so, it's quite plausible that you've got the iTunes 10.1.0.54 bug and we need to get you updated to 10.0.1.56 as per the following document:

Need help getting handoff and continuity working on iPhone 6 and iPAd

I currentky have a first gen iPad mini and iPhone 6 Plus on the verizon network. I have been wanting to use the handoff features but don't have some of the options in the settings menu. First, do you have to have a Mac to use continuity? If not, the option to turn on continuity under messages in the settings menu isn't listed for me, so I cant generate the code to type into my iPad. Same goes for calling. I don't have the option in the phone settings to turn continuity on. Looking for some advice, thank you.

It sounds like you’re running into an issue setting up Continuity with your iPhone 6 Plus and iPad mini, and you’re wondering if you need a Mac to setup them up properly. You don’t need a Mac. Phone calls
With Continuity, you can make and receive cellular phone calls from your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac when your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network.
To make and receive phone calls, here's what you need:
Sign in to the same iCloud account on all your devices, including your Mac.
Your iPhone and your iPad or iPod touch need to use iOS 8 or later. Your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
All devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
All devices must be signed in to FaceTime using the same iCloud account. This means any device that shares your Apple ID will get your phone calls. Look below for instructions on how to turn off iPhone cellular calls.
Wi-Fi Calling needs to be off. Go to Settings > Phone. If you see Wi-Fi Calling, turn it off.

Cannot Get Animated Buttons to Work in DPS (InDesign 6.0) Help Please!!

In DPS tips, using the iPad app, some of the navigational buttons appear like SWF buttons, but, I cannot get SWF buttons to work in DPS. I have been trying with Multi-States, but, cannot get that to work either. Can you tell me how to get a SWF like button to work in DPS - I'm working with ID 6.0.
Do you have an eaasy answer? Is there a tutorial out there I can view? Is their a step-by-step I can read?
BTW, I do understand how buttons work and the types of events that work in DPS.

First, let me say "I cannot even believe all the wonderful information I have recieved from my original post," and, I want to thank you for your understanding.
I have been a designer for many years, working before the computer, and, since the mid 80's working with a variety of software to produce both print and web projects. I must say, I am biased on the Adobe Creative Suite, and, have had amazing success with these tools.
Nonetheless, I have been working with DPS for about a month now (and a month does not make a career), and, have to admit, I am looking at DSP as a Hybrid between Print and Web. Yet, it is neither print or wed, it is it's own element, and, I'm just having growing pains learning, especially the terminology.
Yes, I am trying to explain SWF Buttons, when in reality, it is DPS Buttons, and, my thinking is based on print and web. Now, it is - in some ways - like going back to school learning DPS and DSP terminology. It is a bit frustrating, but, I know I will get it.
Now that I have looked at my first MSO test, I followed the instructions in DPS Tips, I realize that the Button is in the "Normal State" as I (interact, this is my terminology) touch or hover to make the button work. It is in the "Click" state that the Button triggers the MSO to work, and, I finally get that now - okay, I'm slow to learn. And, I will be building a complex MSO to prove the point to myself.
I was wondering, besides DPS Tips, are there any books, apps, specific sites that are very specific on "ALL" the things one can do with DSP?
