Mail stalls receiving messages from Mail Delivery System MAILER-DAEMON
I changed ISP to prevent this occuring, yet it still occurs with new ISP.
When there's a post of this kind in on the server, Mail stalls while downloading and I then need to forve quite mail, go online, remove the message from the server, then launch mail, <Opt-X> to destroy the mail, reapeatedly ( as it tried to hang around) then download again, successfully.
Why does this happen, and how can I prevent it in future?
cheers
peterApple's mail software is is quite poorly implemented. It tends to hog your machine's resources. I don't think there is anything you can do other than use another mail client or wait for Apple to provide a decent implementation of a mail client.

I just got a new ipad air. Hundreds of emails keep papering from earlier times. I can't get them to delete ALL at one time. What do I need to do?
You need 8 characters or more to connect.

I can no longer edit album or song information in iTunes. I right-click on the album (or song), and the window opens with "get info", "rating", etc., but none of it operates. It won't get or save album art, anything. What have I changed to make it all stop working?
You are describing an iTunes problem, not an iPod touch problem. Try posing in the iTunes forum.

How can I get imported Outlook email into folders in mail?
I am a longtime PC user with email and calendar in MS Outlook (finally) converting to an iMac. I used the Migration Assistant to transfer my old PC email to new iMAC running OSX Lion via ethernet. On the old PC, I have ~15 years of stored emails in a *.pst file, organized by folders. I want to retain that file structure to organize older email (but retain it on hard drive for later access) in mail on the iMac. For example, I get an email confirmation of an online order, I move it to a folder called "Money" in case I have any problems with the item or need ot figure out how long since I purchased something for warranty. After the migration I have 1,984 messages in my inbox on the iMac.
Two apparent problems:
1) Everything is in one folder. I don't want to have to refile all this stuff again. How do I get an intact folder structure imported to iMac email from Outlook 2000 *.pst file?
2) I don't think the migration moved everything form the old pst. It took more than inbox, but not enough to be all the emails. To avoid duplications, should I scrub the iMAC mail clean before any steps to achieve 1 above? If so how do I remove the emil imported the first try to iMac?
Be gently, true newbie status here. Learning the iMac slowly - but can't go for long without email.....Hi. I have a similar issue. Migration assistant seems to have pulled in all my email accounts (6) correctly and also the mails that were sat in those inboxes. However, the entire folder structure (where I would drag and drop) has not migrated and nor (it seems) the email contained within. I also have a .pst (which is not corrupted on the PC) and is not huge. So I would like to move all my history across. I don't particularly care about the folder structure but I do, of course, want all of my history transferred.
Is there any easy way to do this? Otherwise all I can think of is moving all emails on my PC from the folders to an inbox in Outlook, unarchiving the .pst emails and then doing the email migration all over again.
Thanks for any help. -

TS3899 after downloading iOS 6.0 cant get my yahoo email on my iPhone mail icon
I phone crashed during downloading iOS 6.0. After restoring phone , my yahoo email would not transfer over. Can access via safari but not directly in mail.
Hi Chris. Thanks, for the suggestions re: my email issues. They were helpful and yes I did check all items you referenced. I even contacted Apple support and spent about 40 minutes on phone checking all settings. However, after all these efforts, my mail and calendar issues were not resolved. Apple Support finally recommended deleting the mail account and then reloading it - and it worked! I am now receiving my emails and calendar appts. in real time again.
Just wanted to share this in case anyone elest has a similar problem with mail/calendar after downloaing i.O.S. 8.1 onto iPhone 5.
Thanks, again.

I am getting hundreds of emails notifying me of all discussions on this support site.
I have changed my notification settings to "NO" for all, but I think that I inadvertantly checked to be notified about certain discussion topics and I can't seem to correct the problem. I don't want to have to change my email and am tempted to delete my profile and start all over but I don't even know how to do that.
Please help urgently!! 500+ emails in the last 12 hours is way too much!!Work through your profile, and all personal pages and turn off every thing you can find about subscriptions...took me a little time but finally managed to stop all of them.

How this started:
Over the past couple of days to approx a week, I have seen a massive influx of Spam on our server. Spam coming in on random ex employee names that no longer work for the company.
Previous to the spam, I turned on "forward un-deliverable mail to" and set to me. The CEO was missing emails because people were not spelling his name correctly. I have actually been able tyo catch a lot of employee emails some important, others not.
In trying to make the mail server more secure, one of the features I tried to turn on was SMTP Client Restrictions, Which broke SMTP for my users. Obviously the error is mine and I need to do more research, but love some feedback on what needs to be set on the server and clients for SMTP client restrictions to work.
I know THE HOFF (mr hoffman) had information at some point to help users secure postfix, can anyone point me in the right direction, as well as any tips here on how to stop the influx of spam?

mail:~ administrator$I am not certain what you mean by immediately removing the 192.1.1.10 and 192.1.1.11, AIX servers that I use to relay admin emails to an IT address here. Some sort of a gateway implemented on a pair of IBM boxes, I might presume.
192.1.1.0/24 is in a public address space that you don't have assigned (unless you're BBN). If that IP routing leaks out, then some folks can get cranky. Or should you eventially need to contact hosts within the address space of the "real" occupants of 192.1.1.0/24, routing won't necessarilt play nice. There may well be a static IP route here, depending on the details of the router configuration, as otherwise that IP traffic would be going to BBN and not to those servers. The Internet works because folks play by the rules, when working with IP routing and DNS services. And if your predecessor used this address space (and not the likely 192.168.0.0/16 block), I'd look around to see if there were other unusual network configuration choices.
TCP port 25 is the server-to-server mail port. That's the main connection used among mail servers. Blocking that has the effect that you've discovered.
It's the clients that can also use that port that need to be relocated off the port, as the clients don't have the reverse DNS and related tests that would allow them access to that port, with various common server security configurations.
Open TCP 587 at the firewall and ensure that this port is active at the mail server host, as a starting point. You can test that with (among other tools) with a remote "telnet your.mail.server.host.name 587" command or similar; that's a primitive (but effective) (common) port test.
With the Apple Mail client, make sure the SMTP server is configured to use the default SMTP ports. Mail > Preferences > Account > Account Information > Edit SMTP Server > select the target SMTP server > Advanced > select "use the default ports (25, 465, 587)" and consider using SSL and authentication. (Apple Mail tries a few ports automatically, so the set-up can be different than other clients.)
I don't have enough space here for a full write-up on how mail or IP works, and setting up an arbitrary mail client or an IP network can be an adventure; I assumed the Apple mail client in the above. See the user collaboration services disscussion of mail services in the Mac OS X Server Advanced Administration manual as some background. (And if this stuff all looks a little cryptic, that's understandable, and you might want to consider getting some set-up help or consider moving to hosted mail services and making this stuff somebody else's problem.) -
How to stop the hundreds of emails I am getting?
This is a question about the U2U forum email notifications. I started a thread in Adobe Premiere Elements and asked for email notification (assuming that I will be only sent an email if somebody replies to this thread.) No matter what I do, (check/uncheck the box "notify by email'), I get hundreds of emails for any Adobe Premiere Elements postings. How can I select email notification for only my thread? I apologize if this is a trivial question but I just couldn't find any answer to it. Thanks for any help.
Take a look at these spots to set the e-mail preferences:
These setting should stop the e-mails.
Good luck,

Sometimes when sending mail from my AOL e-mail, it will go thru to Monzila users but many times they don't. I frequently get a MAILER-DAEMON. Why?
Thunderbird is email client software. Mailer-Daemon messages come from email provider's server. Email client software cannot create such a message.

Mail-daemon error for MMS I haven't send !!!
Hi !
Since this morning I received 2 return email (MMS) from different mail-daemon telling me that the email adress **** where "I" sent before doesn't exist anymore etc etc...
The thing is that I have no idea to who those email are and I didn't send any email(MMS)!
It seems like someone is using my MMS adress to send spam email or something like that.
I have a 3GS with the last OS and I am living in Japan and therefore use the carrier softbank.
Anyone with the same strange behavior ?
(+ I have mini crack in the top left of my phone but that's an other story...)There you go guys, if this is useful for something...

Receiving "Mail Delivery System" when Email is sent...why?
Every time I send an email via my mac mail, I always get a Mail Delivery System email containing different content such as: [Return Code 554] sid: d61F1m00P408TaZ01 or [Return Code 550] sid: d61F1m00P408TaZ01. It was also brought to my attention that those receiving my emails are getting them but they are also getting an extra email with a crazy unknown link. Help! How do I correct this? I need this email for my start-up. thanks...

Mail Delivery System email problems
After (unsuccessfully) bouncing some suspicious emails I now have 37 Mail Delivery System emails which refuse to be deleted no matter what I do. I can delete them and they go to trash but then they appear back in the inbox. For a while these emails were 'empty' as in I could not open them as there was nothing but the email title there but now they have suddenly become readable and they all have the same address which obviously could not be bounced and some have the junk sign next to them which I can't get rid of either. It is very annoying although obviously it does not affect anything other than it looks awful to have 37 emails from the same place. Incidentally I think that there are actually only 2 emails as there are only 2 different time stamps on them and I think that they have multiplied due to me deleting them so often and them reappearing again. Hope this makes sense to someone!
eventually the emails disappeared!

After effects error: rendering error while writing to file. Disk full.
Hi, I tried to render a video in AE CC 2014, with RGB + Alpha as I wanted to keep the background transparent (rotoscoped) so that I can then use it in Premiere. I chose to export in Quicktime, with uncompressed 8bit. After it rendered it for a little
