Getting iCal on my MAC Pro to sync with my iTouch
I have had some issues with my MAC Pro tower and it became necessary to format and re-install all of my MAC software. I went to sync my iTouch with my MAC, but I can't locate any of the iCal files. I'm assuming that I am doing something wrong, but there is no iCal on my iTouch. Can I fix this?

Did you ever use the Backup iCal command in iCal's File Menu?
If so, it will be wherever you saved it in a file called "iCal YYYY-MM-DD"with have the extension .icbu) so you can search for it, then just use the "Restore iCal" from that.
if not: You've had a nasty lesson indeed. It's likely You'll need to manually recreate your dates. Perhaps some one else has ideas..

If there's no iCal on your iPod Touch:HUH!
I didn't think this was possible... did you jailbreak your iPod? If not:
1. Check to see if you've hidden it in a folder.
2. check iTunes>iPod>Apps while iPod is mounted to see if you've managed to disable it (I didn't think possible but hey who knows...)
3. If you did manage to delete the App. You'll need to restore your iPod.

You're looking on the wrong page, Anne. Look at the top of that screen; you should see Summary, Info, Apps, Music, and a few other buttons up there. Click on the "Info" button. Then you'll find the options for synching calendars and contacts.

Entourage Tasks and iCal "To dos" have disappeared during sync with .Mac
All of my “tasks” (both completed and incomplete) in Entourage and "to dos" iCal have disappeared, apparently during a sync with dot Mac. This problem has happened twice in the past two weeks (the first time I lost all of my Entourage “notes” too, but I haven’t put any back).
The tasks show no problems for a week and then all of a sudden disappear from both Entourage and iCal. My calendar and address book (which I also sync) seem not to be affected. Entourage doesn’t seem to offer a way to sync the calendar without syncing the tasks as well.
Here are my questions:
Why did my tasks disappear?
How do I prevent their disappearance again?
has anyone else experienced this problem?
My Entourage database is fine. I’m running Entourage 11.2.3 (which rencently added a feature "sync services" that allows syncing with .Mac and iCal).I had the same problem and I got my To Dos to appear when I clicked on the To Dos by Priority column header and checked/unchecked the Hide Items outside Calendar View option. (Doesn't seem to make any difference whether it is checked or unchecked ... it displays all of the items ... at least until restart iCal ... then it is a bit unpredictable.)
I also have intermittent problems when I create or change a new Event. Sometimes the change does not appear until I move off the page that I am displaying and come back (e.g. move forward a week in week view and then back.) -
Some albums I put on my Mac to later sync with a Touch appears as seperate tracks and not a single album. How do I get them back together again other than a playlist. I do not want the tracks showing up as albums on the Touch?
Are your tracks pat of a collection? Different artists, but still one album? Then mark them a s acollection or set the album artist. See this guide on how to group separate tracks into albums:

Since I'd installed the new version of iTunes, iCal and Address book do not sync with my iPhone 3GS through iTunes anymore and I get an error message stating that iTunes can not sync with this iPhone. Was must i do to correct this issue and if i must, how dI reintall iTunes without loosing my content?

What USB 3.0 card should I get for early 2009 Mac Pro so I can connect the Drobo 5D? They say get CalDigit or Sonnet. Anyone have preference or experience with reliability with this. I am running Lion and Trying to find which is better as I know from experience not all cards are created equal. Thanks in advance for your help!

You can disable the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) and use the external Adobe Reader application or Preview application instead.

I am a long time Apple user and rely heavily on my iPhone to keep me where I need to be, when I need to be there. I have an iPhone 4 and it is running OS 6.0.1. Everything was working fabulously until recently. Sadly I don't know when the problems started--when I updated to OS 6 OR when I updated iTunes to version 11. Either way, my iCal and Address Book no longer sync with my iPhone. And to add insult to injury, my phone is no longer automatically detecting the AT&T microcell I have in my house. I have to reboot my phone every time I come back in the house--talk about annoying.
I am not super techy, so I am hoping someone can help me with this. I LIVE by my iPhone and as a self-employed person, I can't afford for this device to stop giving me information. I also don't want to do entries on my phone AND computer everytime something changes. I do not want to go back to the more reliable paper calendar and address book.
I have iCloud turned on, and it appears to sync my address book with my iPhone. But I seem to be a mess with iCal and my desktop. And between iCal/Adress Book on my computer and iPhone, nothing is talking.
HELP!!!!I think my company updated Exchange on Friday and since then I cannot sync with Mac Mail, Entourage does not seem to be working either?

I have a Mac Pro using Lion, with SSD for system drive. Drive stopped booting, but otherwise appeared healthy. Restored from system backup. Now drive seems to work properly, BUT my logon password no longer works. Password OK for account; can access system preferences, and change user password there BUT logon still refuses to accept password. No luck changing password for that account after adding new administrator account and logging on from that account. Suggestions? Thanks.
If you redirect Accounts to another location (not on the Boot Drive) you need to direct them back there again after a restore.
SystemPreferences > Accounts/User&Groups > ...
... Unlock the lock, then hold down Control as you click on an Account to get access to the Advanced Options pane. -
I have a Powerbook G4 running on OSX Version 10.4.11. I currently have an Iphone 3, but it cannot sync with my computer because it reverts back to a version so old that I can't even text photos. (I have itunes 9) I would like to get a new phone because mine constantly freezes up, but I figure what's the point of getting an iphone if it won't sync with my laptop. I can't even listen to music on my iphone! Is it possible to get an Iphone 4s to sync with a G4 Powerbook?

Sadly not as an iPhone 4 running iOS 6 or above needs Mac OS X 10.6.8 or higher to sync in iTunes.

My Mac Pro (Late 2013) with an Apple SSD as the only storage will not restart
I have a Mac Pro (Late 2013) with an APPLE SSD SM0256F as the only storage. When I restart all I get is the spinning bars. I have to manually hold the power button down to force shutdown. I have let it try to restart for as long as 30 minutes. It will start just fine from a shutdown. I am running Yosemite 10.10.2 (14C1510). I have used Disk Utility with no errors. The only time I need to restart is after a system upgrade. I have tried, as others have suggested, selecting the drive from the Startup Drive preferences with no difference. Any help is much appreciated!

Be sure you download the correct version for your PC. If you have 32bit OS or 64bit OS. To find this out, right click on Computer under start and select properties. Near the middle it should say 32bit or 64bit. If you know you have the correct software. Open up the control panel and go to sync settings. Right click on the partnership you have setup and select delete. On your device go to Start-->Programs-->Activesync-->Menu-->Options tap on Windows PC and select Delete. Then once both are done resetup your partnership. But this time uncheck everything. Then once it is done syncing. Go to Mobile device settings and change content sync settings and select Contact. Click save and let it sync. Do the same for calendar, tasks, and notes but leave the last item checked. So when Contacts are done syncing you go and check Calendar and leave Contacts
