Getting iChat AV 3 back for iMac

Bear with me, I'm pretty new to macs.
I recently accidentally deleted iChat, much like I have read that someone else had. (post titled: "get ichat back")
However, the instructions there did not show how to re-install iChat if you did NOT have a tiger "update" disk.
My iMac came with Tiger already installed... and my so-called "Max OS install disc" doesn't do squat. The iMac just spits it out after a little bit.
I have tried DLing the update... and ended up with the same results as that other guy. I have also meticulously followed the instructions given to him involving Pacifist. Alas, no success. I'm stuck with AOL IM... which is driving me nuts. How do I get my iChat back?

I had already tried that. First of all... my "OSX Install disc 1" never loads. (it tries to for about 3 tries and then spits it out... regardless of what program I have running)
Second, I have tried opening Pacifist in several different ways (like while the OSX disc is loading, before, even AFTER it's been spit out) and the "open Mac OSX Install Packages is always greyed out.
I just know I'm missing something simple...

That means that one or more of these apps was obtained using that ID. All apps are forever tied to the ID used to originally obtain them & they cannot be transferred to another ID. Your only option is to delete this content, then re-purchase using your ID.

Need to get an external DVD player for Imac, which one?

Hey (again),
I've had a terrible time getting my imac up and running properly since I got it back from its HD replacement yesterday.
It's gotten to the point where I'm going to wipe the system and then do a time machine reinstall.
My problem is that my imacs dvd player doesn't play DVD's anymore, it just spits out the install DVD. Could I use any cheap external DVD (usb) drive and wipe and install my OS from there or does it need to be in the internal one? I found a couple of really cheap ones that I'm wondering would do the trick or does it need to be a specific brand?
Or do I need to have my imac which is out of warranty serviced and have the original dvd player replaced?
Any input on this is greatly appreciated.

In my experience just about any external DVD drive works. I've found them way cheaper at a big technology store like "Fry's".

How do I get the options bar back for an email if I accidently delete it ?

If an email has say pictures I get an option bar appear to allow me to select 'show remote content' however if I accidently delete the bar I cannot get it back and display the remote content.

Got locked out of iPhone 4 my only option was to upgrade so I got iphone 5s but when I restore from backup that's recent from iCloud I don't get my game data and app data how do I get all my data back for games and apps?

I still have old phone is there a way to bypass 4 digit code my kid created it and locked me out but it's disabled says connect to iTunes but no access to computer just wifi. Thanks so much Meg. Unfortunately, iTunes is the program I use to perform syncing. I don't really have other outside options. It is also the location of the backup I would use to restore my phone, and my only way to reclaim important data. I am concerned that, since the last backup occurred when the "other" bar was only moderately huge (around 29G I think), that a backup would replicate the problem back onto my phone.
My contacts, etc. are all in address book and the calendar app on my Mac. As far as I know, iTunes is the way to get them back, but iTunes is where the problem is.
Any thoughts on this?

Only way is if you've been backing up yoru phone and that message is included in your backup.
Then you can restore your phone from that backup.

The Yahoo toolbar may have been added by an extension or other (security) software on your computer.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup, tehn you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Everything else is gone, if you have failed to backup or sync it to icloud or some other cloud service.

I had lots of trouble getting my printer to eprint. (It was fine a year ago). So after some research I found the DNS entries were missing. I added them and now my printer is connected and registered. How do I get my original email back for the printer rather than the cryptic one assigned? I tried to change it but it says someone else has it but I know I had this morning per hp connected website (which said I owned it but printer was offline) that someone was me. It's clear you already know how to enable ePrint and customize the randomized addresses that are automatically assigned. The downside to this feature is that you cannot get an ePrint address back when webservices are removed and then re-enabled.
