Getting images from the web

When I copy an image from the web and paste it in AI the URL is inserted and not the image. How do I change that?

I understand the rights issue and I am complying to any rights issue. The issue that I am having is at home I can copy and paste an image in to AI from the web but at work I cannot do the same thing. It is an extra step that I am not use to. I know it is some sort of setting I just cannot find.
For example, if you look up "tigers" on Google, take the first image of tiger and paste it in AI are you able to do it?
When I do this I get the below text instead of the image:

Any help will be greatly appreciated, I use a ton of images from my factories that I need to use for my job.

Why can't i download e-mail attachments and images from the web using firefox browser

when i try to download my e-maill attachments, the Download tab appears. but when i click the download "key", nothing happens.

here you find a note on how to load pictures from the internet. After grabbing the data you could save them to a file, load the file with the picture file functions and then convert it into the image datatype to feed a picture indicator with the data...

Try the following.
First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Desktop.
Flash Player Uninstaller.
When the download has completed, close all browser windows and run the uninstaller. After this has completed, restart the notebook.
Next, download and install Firefox and then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.
Close all browser windows before running the Flash installer.
Launch Firefox and see if Youtube videos etc play Ok - if they do, close Firefox, open IE and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a prompt to install the ActiveX component. When done, restart IE.

Illustrator CC (Mavericks) crashes when pasting images from the web.

I have read many forums of illustrator crashing, and most of them is about the Wacom tablet. I do have a tablet, so I uninstalled the software, but tried pasting an image from the web, and sure enough it crashed again.
Hope you can help me, because this is very frustrating

Umm, well, have you considered that this is the most rubbish workflow one can imagine? Seriously. Save the images locally from your browser and them import them using the place command and even that only after checking them in Photoshop. There could be any number of issues here like files being damaged or having crooked color profiles attached that make AI go kaboom... Again, it's simply a very, very bad workflow.

How can i save an image to computer from the wed - with a pc i used to simply right click and save as - with the mac i have yet to figure it out?

If your mouse hasn't been "set up" and you like it just fine out of the box, as I do, click on the image and hold, then move your (still held down) mouse until the pointer reaches the spot where you wish to deposit the image, then release. I use some extra desktop space along the side, above and below my dock. Later you can put the images where you want them, unedited, or edit them and save them to iPhoto for eventual reuse.
Sorry, forgot that with your 17" display you may not have any extra space, and your hard drive icon may be covered up by a browser window, while the Dock's Finder can't accept a drop even if your dock is visible, in which case my method is no help.
Unless you're using the entire full screen, there should be enough space to deposit images, as only a slim slice, or section, of desktop is necessary. Regardless how small the section, you can always retrieve the image from the desktop view of a Finder window, which at the bottom gives you a count of how many items are on your desktop.

Unable to "Drag N Drop" images from the web to itunes "Get Info" for photo!

I convert LP's to MP3 and use iTunes as my program. Many of my LP's I want to have the images on the MP3. I use an excellent source of "discogs.com". Many people have saved me the time of picture taking and editing. I can just drag and drop to the iTunes. Well about 2 updates ago I cannot do this any longer. Why? I have to pull the image to the desktop and then drop into the iTunes.
Please restore this feature and save me the issues.

Cannot copy and paste images from the web into Corel Draw

Attempting to copy and paste a jpg image from a client's website, for use in Corel Draw... Copy appears to work fine, and pasting into other programs like Windows Paint works, but paste to CorelDraw has no result.
I've seen where others would get the text URL but nothing happens when I hit paste.
Drag and drop imports the text name of the image.

Since Firefox 13, when you copy an image, Firefox places both the image data (bitmap data) and the URL of the image on the clipboard. I can see why you would get one or the other, but I can't think of why you would get nothing.
Did this just start in Firefox 22?
Some odd interactions have been noted between Firefox 22 and ZoneAlarm: when ''copying'' selected text in Firefox, the clipboard may end up blank a significant percentage of the time . But it sounds as though you have a different issue.
Do you have the same issue in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)

More generally, when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these:
While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

I can't import images from the web into my iphoto 8

I installed snow leopard a few weeks ago and when I try to click on an image on a website like a friends photo from myspace, and drag it to my Iphoto's icon in my dock it gets rejected, But I was able to do that very same thing before and it would work. I don't know why it won't now unless it is snow leopard. can someone help me fix this problem? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Several people have mentioned this and it seems to be a change with 10.6
If you're using Safari then right click on an image and choose 'Add Image to iPhoto Library'. Otherwise drag the image to the desktop first.

Pixelated lines across images from the web module in LR

I use Lightroom 5.2 and am having problems when exporting via the Web module. When I use the basic LR HTML template or plug-ins like Juicebox and TTG, there are pixelted lines acorss some (but not all) of the images. This has started to happen in the last few weeks. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Here's my guess ... somehow the file has gotten corrupted.
I can't tell you exactly what step it got corrupted at ... you'll have to do the research ... it could be that it is corrupt on your hard disk, and Lightroom is attempting to use a corrupted photo; or it could be when Lightroom exports via the Web Module the file is saved in correupted form (most likely cause is a bad hard disk); or it could get corrupted in the upload; or it could be corrupted on the hard disk on the server (bad hard disk again).

If your question comes about because you have a single button mouse, it's time to visit your local computer store and get a ''real'' mouse for that MAC. I don't "get" Apple, they sell their hardware for almost twice what a comparable PC would sell for - and then they leave out what is probably the most important time saving control, the right-button.

How do I save images from the web?

Hey, I just switched to Mac. On my PC, if you just right-clicked an image on the internet, you could save it to your computer. I can't figure out how to do this on my new mac.

Well there are actually three ways of doing this.
1) Put two fingers on the trackpad and click the mouse
2) Get a USB Mouse, and you'll have right click.
3) go to System Preferences > Keyboard and Mouse > put a check in all the boxes under "Trackpad Gestures" except the two sub boxes under Clicking. Now that you have done this put two fingers on the trackpad at the same time and the right click menu will show.

Adding an image from the web to the report in the header with other Text

I am attempting to fix a Crystal Report where I have a Logo positioned in the upper left corner of the Report Header. The Report Header also includes 2 text fields. One is fixed data and the other is a date. I have mastered the img src but I cannot get the two text fields to display to the right of the image. They will always push to the line below. I have tried putting them in different sections and underlying the next section, and all other settings that I can think of. What I must have would be similar to this:

I have even tried suppressing all headers and using multiple detail sections to no avail. I am using Crystal Reports 2008

I have found the answer or should I say the cause of my problem. It is that Microsoft in their infinite wisdom have changed the way (or engine) their Outlook (post version 2003) handles html. They now use the "engine" from their 'Word' program which cannot handle most compound formatting. To handle this program, you have to build it all on one level. To solve my Header problem, I was forced to recreate my graphic to include the Header text, place that graphic on the top of the page and build my form below, an entire line at a time. Multiple objects on the same line would look great in Outlook prior to '2007' but may be in any order or grouping in '2007' and after See this explanation...
