Getting images to my iphone from two computers?

i am creating Albums in Aperture on my MacBookPro in order to SYNC these images to my iPhone when i sync my phone to my laptop.
i am IMPORTING images to my Mac Pro desktop in order to import these into my Aperture database when i sync my phone to my desktop computer.
i have also recently checked only the PhotoStream option on the Mac Pro desktop so that all the images that i recently imported to the database on the laptop machine can be made available to the iPhone.
the problem i am having is that i would like to keep the image sync from my laptop as this is the computer that i use to backup my iPhone but i would ALSO like to /add/ or SYNC some images to my iPhone from the desktop machine. is there a convenient way to do this that allows the images to stay organized as they do when i use the sync option in Aperture on my laptop?
is this a good time to start using Photos on the desktop machine and have these images synced to the PHOTOS app on my iPhone while i continue to use the laptop to sync images from Aperture?
any help would be really appreciated.

Photos for Mac is still a Beta version. There is not yet a stable, public release. You would have to update to MacOS X 10.10.3 (Beta) to be able to use Photos on your Mac. But the public release of MacOS X 10.10.3 with Photos is expected to happen soon - Apple announce "In spring".
See the preview:  Apple - OS X - Photos Preview
Photos will make it easier to have a shared photos library accessible on all devices. But I would not trust my photo libraries to a Beta release, only test libraries to explore the features before I migrate.
Until you migrate, you might consider to use Shared albums with selected photos. These Shared Albums/Photo Streams will be synced in iCloud and look the same on all devices, see:   iCloud: iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ
Added:
The Photos.app will not offer the same control over the organisation of your photo libraries as Aperture had. Re organization it has nothing to offer but Moments, Faces, Places, keywords, favourites, and (smart) albums. It is not a replacement for Aperture as a digital ***** management system. You may not want to  migrate in a hurry, as you invested a lot of work in organising your Aperture libraries. I am setting up a small Photos library for sharing between devices, and are keeping one Aperture library to organize the bulk of my photos. Aperture will work concurrently to Photos, as long as we are using Yosemite.

  • IPhone on two computers

Is there ANY possible way to sync my iPhone with two computers. All I want to do is exchange songs between the two computers and sync my contacts and calendars. Seems simple to me, but I get a message every time asking me if I want to erase my iPhone or transfer the purchases. I do not have this problem with my iPod Classic 5th generation... strange.

This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296 provides more information about what can be synced and even merged between multiple computers.
You can transfer purchased music between computers as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
Syncing music that was not purchased from the iTunes store is intended to be a one-way-street as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1209

  • Manually managing music on iPhone from multiple computers

Everything I've read 'claims' this can be but I don't think the people who tell you how to do it even bother to see what happens.  This is one of the things that really frustrate me about forums.  It's the complete lack of thoroughness of the people who reply to a question without knowing the outcome.
It's a simple task.  I want to be able to move music from multitple computers to my iPhone.  When I go into iTunes and select the device, in my case it's the iPhone, and check the box to manually manage music and videos then click 'apply' I get a warning that everything is going to be erased from the phone.  WTH!?!  And no one on ANY forum who suggests this is the proper way manually managing music even has a solution to be able to do this WITHOUT erasing the phone.
C'mon Apple.  It's a SIMPLE drag-n-drop implementation.  How hard can it be?  I'm not the least interested in syncing with some music library on the computer.  In fact I don't even sync my phone with the iTunes Library.  It's a waste of time because I can't even selectively sync music.  It's either all or nothing.  STUPID.  I simply want to move music on and off the phone.  You know, drag into the window to add and drag off to remove.  And I want to be able to do it from any computer I want that's running iTunes.  I shouldn't have to copy music from a different computer, carry it home and add it from the home system.  That completely defeats the concept of portability.  And if my home computer happens to go south for some reason then what?  Even if I have all my music backed up, I have to wipe out all my music on the phone and start all over because I'm now using a different computer.  Who was the genius that came up with that ludicrous idea?
Apple you really need to take a page from Sandisk and allow iPhones to be treated as external drives so we can drag and drop our music onto them.  No muss no fuss.  Simple and clean with no hair pulling.  It's already established the you create some very pretty devices.  Now let's work on improving usability.  Because the way I see it, it's a bit backwards.

    Sync iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers
Although it isn't possible to sync an Apple device with two different libraries it is possible to sync with the same logical library from multiple computers. Each library has an internal ID and when iTunes connects to your iPod/iPad/iPhone it compares the local ID with the one the device normally syncs with. If they are the same you can go ahead and sync...
I have my library cloned to a small 1Tb USB drive which I can take between home & work. At either location I use SyncToy 2.1 to update the local copy with the external drive. Mac users should be able to find similar tools. I can open either of the local libraries or the one on the external drive and update the media content of my iPhone. The slight exception is Photos which normally connects to a specific folder on a specific machine, although that can easily be remapped to the current library if you create a "Photos" folder inside the iTunes Media folder so that syncing the iTunes folders keeps this up to date as well. I periodically sweep my library for new files & orphans with iTunes Folder Watch just in case I make changes at one location but then overwrite the library with a newer copy from the other. Again Mac users should be able to find similar tools.
As long as your media is organised within an iTunes Music or Tunes Media folder, in turn held inside the main iTunes folder that has your library files (whether or not you let iTunes keep the media folder organised) each library can access items at the same relative path from the library folder so the library can be at different drives/paths on different machines. This solution ensures I always have adequate backups of my library and I can update my devices whenever I can connect to the same build of iTunes.
When working with an iPhone earlier builds of iTunes would remove any file not physically present in the local library, even if there was an entry for it, making manual management practically redundant on the iPhone. This behaviour has been changed but it will still only permit manual management with a library that has the correct internal ID. If you don't want to sync your library between machines on a regular basis just copy the iTunes Library.itl file from the current "home" machine to any other you want to use, then clean out the library entires and import the local content you have on that box.

  • HT1449 how do you move all music from two computers into one itunes account?

How do you move all music from two computers into one itunes account?

An "iTunes account" is an online account you use for buying music, like a bank account.  An iTunes collection is the media you see when you open iTunes. Which do you mean?
If it is two computers, it would also help to know where these are located. Are they on the same local network? If they are, try Home Sharing (and you have control of both and you aren't just trying to get music fro your computer to your friend's computer in another state).  If they are not, you'll have to use an external hard drive or flash drive.
Is this on a PC? Your computer information says Windows but you posted this in the iTunes for Mac forum.

  • Is there any way to work on one Catalog from two computers simultaenously?

Is there any way to work on one Catalog from two computers simultaenously?
I have a catalog with 7000 images we have to process / crop / etc. and I was trying to find a way that two of us could work on the images at the same time.
    Thanks!

No, the LR catalog is not multi user capable (and cannot reside on a network share without tricks). What you could do is
export part of the catalog (a subset of all images) into a separate catalog ("Export as Catalog", without exporting the negatives)
work on different images in the two catalogs at the same time
re-import ("Import from Catalog") the exported work after adjustments on it is finished

  • Using iPhone with two computers

    Home PC - MacBook Pro
    Work PC - Windows
    both running iTunes 7.7
My music is on my home Mac and I manually create playlists, add music etc.
With my 3G Nano, I can connect and listen to songs on my iPod from my work PC. I can't seem to do this with my iPhone - my PC sees the iPhone but all of the music is greyed out and cannot be selected.
Is it a limitation of the iPhone that I cannot use it with two computers in this way, or is it a configuration issue?
I would prefer not to have to buy a set of external speakers just to use my iPhone to play music at work.
    thanks
    Shane

Actually, there are several articles on the web about the fact that you CAN
synch the itunes with two computers. Music, Video, and Ringtones can be done from one computer, and Mail, Contacts, etc. can be done from a second computer.
Just do a Yahoo search on "synching iPhone with two computers."
If you are trying to do music from two computers, you are right, that will not work. There is a program, which I think the Yahoo search above will also uncover that allows you to do a "swap," where you can have the songs from one computer show up on the iPhone, and when you swap, the songs from the other computer show up. I am not sure if this utility survived the upgrage to version 2.0 of the softweare.
    cheers,

  • Syncing iTunes to iphone from 2 computers

I have the same iTunes login name on 2 computers but they both have different music. When I go to select manually manage music it tell me, "The iphone is synced to another iTunes Library. Would you like to erase and sync to this library?" I would like to add songs from both computers as one is my work computer and the other is my personal computer. Is there a way this is possible?

  • When setting up sync how does sync manage information from two computers? Does it merge the information?

When setting up sync how does sync manage information from two computers? Does it merge the information?

    Hi!
Yes, the way Sync works is that it puts all the Bookmarks together and pushes them to all your devices. Same with History.
You will not loose any information in any of your computers.

  • [HELP] I use Skype from two computers and i notice...

Sorry for reposting this topic, but it didn't appear on the forum.
    Hey there.
I use skype from two computers.
Last week i blocked a contanct from computer1 and yesterday i unblocked it from the same computer.
So i noticed that after i unblocked this contact, it still appears at my homepage with his picture, info and everything, BUT only from computer1.
When i use computer2, this contact appears at my contacts, but only with his skype name (the one he uses to log in) and not with his display name. Also, i can't see his picture or any other information. It just appears offline, with his log-in name and with no picture. That's all.
So what's going on? Why can i see everything normally from computer1 but not from computer2?
P.S.1 99% he blocked me too, but i have no idea whether he unblocked me or not.
P.S.2 I know my english is horrible, sorry for that.

You can sync photos and itunes content with one and only one computer at a time.  If you sync to another you will lose all itunes content and pics.
If you have contacts on the other computer then you could sync with that computer.  If the other computer is blank then so to will be the iphone after syncing

  • Working from two computers

How do folks work from two computers? I use an MBA on the road and out of the office and an iMac at home. Is there a way to sync my site on both computers? Or to download changes to my site onto the other computer? I haven't seen an obvious method for managing the site and keeping it on both computers.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Aaron ~ I haven't used Dropbox, but it offers file syncing and gives you 2GB of storage free. The problem is that iWeb's Domain file is a single unit, so that even if you change just one character on your iWeb site, the whole Domain file will be re-synced — not just the changed page.
